My husband and I decided after many years our pre-lit Christmas tree needed to be retired. We went tree shopping and found a great tree. It looks and feels like the real deal.
I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.
I purchased these packs and they do not work. The mice chewed right through them! They are still running around the apartment. Please do not waste your money on this product.
I'd rather shop at the mom and pop shops but it's hard to because Home Depot is always lower prices and a 10% discount to boot. It's a love hate relationship
This store is the largest one in the united states when it comes to buying home improvements & decoration material & hardware.
I wish we had something like this in Ireland.
I was in the Glastonbury Home Depot on 11/12/22 and the lady in the garden tool section asked if I had bought the USAF Veteran shirt that I was wearing? I told her that I was a USAF and CT. Army National Guard Veteran also. It seemed that she believed black people couldn't be in the armed forces, and it was strange for her to question it. Plus, I never got my military discount when I check-out of the store.

Ordered Lawn Equipment on-line since they did not have what I needed at any local stores (3 within 20 miles).
June 28- All Items Shipped and expected delivery by 9 July.
2 of 3 rec'd by July 9- Last Item was told due to Covid it would be another 5 days.
July 15th- OK We'll have to open a "Case" to see where the item is. You will here back by 19 July.
21 July- Ok we still don't know, but we should have an answer in the next 5-7 days.
July 26th- Found one of the item I've been waiting for located 34 miles away. Purchased and cancelled previous 28 June order. Now asking for mileage reimbursment since they did not incurr a shipping cost (Free Shipping wa one reason I bought on-line). 2nd Time in 3 years I have ordered on-line from Home Depot- Had to Cancel the entire order the first time. Was hoping they had gotten better at this?
Tip for consumers:
Make sure items are on the floor and call the store before placing the order. Better to rent a truck and pick up yourself.
Purchased a maytag dishwasher and they charged me 9.99 for a power cord on the order when mine is hard wired. That maytag dishwasher did not last 5 years. Bought a whirlpool online april 17th 2022 and put to have them remove my old dishwasher for 30$ Paid through paypal and was not charged the 30$. Called HD online service and the guy said there was a glitch in their system and they would not charge me to take the old one away. Yeah well the guys showed up to deliver the new one told them what I was told and they said they would not take it unless I paid the 30$. Gave them the 30$. Called HD online and the new guy basically said go pound sand. SO I will NEVER ORDER FROM HD OR BUY ANYTHING FROM HD AGAIN! FU GUYS!

Watch out for cashiers offering a $200 discount for applying for membership that balance is really being $200 rolled into an undisclosed credit account.
On 3/23/2020, my cashier range up a $431 ticket and offered me a "membership that would take $200 off my purchase" upon entering my information I asked if this was a credit card application. The cashier told me yes and that it was too late to cancel when I told her that I had not interest in opening a credit card. "At least you get the $200 off". Frustrated that I was tricked into applying for a credit card, I left the store accepting that I received a $200 discount for the inconvenience. I later found out that instead of discounting the $200, it was rolled into credit account with the Bank of Missouri (statement attached). I made several attempts over 60 days to have this resolved at the corporate level as well as the local managers with Pete Armijo and Jose Bencomo. After ample opportunities to make this right I now have no other choice but to file a bank claim this morning since this is the final day to dispute the charge.
As an owner of a local construction/ electrical company that spends thousands of dollars monthly with Home Depot, I will never shop at Home Depot again. It is clear that Home Depot does not genuinely care about their customers from cashiers all the way up to general management.
I was approved for a credit card but, the catch is I pay 39.9 percent interest. What a joke, destroyed the card. Who would want a credit card with those rates.
This store is one of my favourites. Has everything. Only bad thing is if you need someone to help you. Takes forever to find someone. Seems like everyone takes breaks at the same time.
Purchased a dryer with buyer protection plan, a few months after purchase it broke down and it's been 3 months I still have no dryer and 2 children with ruined clothing. Horrible slow service.
Home Depot is a cavernous place. And even if though they have forty employees walking around there good luck finding one. Other than that they have most things you need so there is that.
I went to the local Home Depot last night to see about purchasing an exterior door and had some questions regarding doors and installation. I walked the entire store TWICE to try to find someone to assist me and did not find ONE person. A person at checkout came to see if he could help but he couldn't answer all my questions so he tried to call for assistance. No one would answer the phone! The manager emailed me (after I left a negative comment) and asked me to give them another chance. So I went down there tonight and met with the manager. He took me to the door department and introduced me to the "guru." After speaking with the two of them, and deciding to follow their advice and have their person come out to measure, quote and set up a date/time to install, we were informed by the manager of that specific department that the person they were trying to connect us with did windows only, NO DOORS! Apparently the left hand doesn't know what the right hand does. Needless to say, we left there extremely frustrated and no further ahead than if we had never gone down to give them a second chance. In the future, we will be doing all our business at Lowes or the smaller local stores.
I purchased a $100 gift card for a friend from home depot website. I received an email indicating failure in delivery to the email I indicated, and at the same time I received another email indicating it was delivered. I tried to verify delivery status via home depot's online contacts and never received a response from them. I went to a physical home depot location, but they could not help me. They gave me an 800 number to call, and I was on the phone with them for over an hour, but they could not find my gift card; though I gave them the order number and all the details. Finally, after explaining my case 5 times to different levels of support, they told me it was issued by the cashstar gift card company, and they gave me a different number to contact. After talking to 2 more people on the cashstar side, I requested a refund, since the issued gift card was not usable (there was no pin or barcode). Cashstar said there was a 7 to 10 business days for the refund to take place. I am still waiting. I will NEVER purchase any home depot gift card, again, since I trusted that I was dealing with home depot but they threw me to the wolves of cashstar. Now I hesitate to purchase anything from home depot online.

I ordered some items during Home Depots Black Friday online sale, and was very pleased. The delivery was fast, and the items were exactly as shown in the picture's. Saved me a lot of time, and gas..
I would like to tell you about my new Makita string trimmer, but nobody seems to know what happened to it. I purchased it online and have paid for it already. I chose ship to store, hopefully to avoid any damages during shipping, instead of shipping to my home (last item, HONDA push mower, was damaged when I shipped to home). My trimmer was due to arrive on Friday and had been tracked to Monroe, Ohio. It was shipped to my store the night before and somehow got lost along the way (a distance of 40 miles to my local store) So somewhere between Monroe, Ohio and my local store (40 miles distance) my trimmer has been lost... I received an update and now my trimmer is scheduled to make it through those final 40 miles 5-7 days from now? How can this be? I chose to buy this from Home Depot and get it delivered to my local store to avoid this type of problem. I now wish that I had just purchased it on a "large retail internet site", as I usually do. I could probably be using my new Makita string trimmer if I had chosen a "large retail internet site" instead.

Special order a 23 3/8 window X54 and received a 20 in X54 which I could have ordered and not waited 34 days for delivery; They offered to reship but I accepted $50.00 off and made opening smaller.
My husband and I ordered a dryer from the Home Depot website, as well as a washer. The washer worked fine, but the dryer would take multiple, multiple cycles to dry clothes (doesn't work, essentially). I chatted with the Home Depot associate in December right after we rec'd it and she told me we would be issued a refund as well as given a replacement once a tech came out and determined it was defective. The tech came out, determined it was defective, and told me a replacement would come soon. Months later, still no replacement. I've been on chat now with a customer service rep for 3 hours and she told me that in order to issue a refund, they have to take the defective dryer, and then process the refund. I told them I don't trust them anymore since they haven't delivered on any of their previous promises, and that I would just like the refund I am owed. They won't provide the refund or the replacement. I have to wait for a third-party store to contact me. It's been a huge inconvenience and they don't seem to be doing anything that shows they care about my business. I'd never order from them again.
Tip for consumers:
Don't order appliances from them. If it's defective, you'll never see a dime back!
The fridge was never installed. Teams came twice. First time because we did not have a shut off valve installed and a copper wire. This was not mention in the prep notes. We had the plumber in, putting a valve and installed the rubber tubing provided with the fridge. Second team came in to actually install the fridge. Do not want to do it because the valve is mot behind the fridge but in the cabinet, which the plumber said did not make any difference in the world.
The installers left our house without a word, leaving all doors open and not even caring about giving us a hint of why they were leaving. We emptied our fridge twice and had to put everything in back again. We offered to connect the fridge ourselves to the water line but they did not care. They wanted to be out on a Saturday afternoon and had nothing to do with our business anymore. We paid for the old fridge to be moved and they refused to do it even if we showed them the invoice mentioning it.
We had a lot of work done by Home Depot contractors before (gas stove, garage doors, dishwasher...) and bought all our patio doors (4) in Home Depot. We always had a very good service. This time for the fridge, its a real failure and We are very upset with the service provided. We will install the fridge ourselves and are thinking about never buying in Home Depot again.
I saw and heard customer service personnel treat an elderly person with disdain and rudeness. They have no concept of customer service. I will not shop at this store again.
You are on your own most of the time at HomeDepot. But, "sometimes" you will find an employee with a clue. Do your own research, and know what you need.
I have been doing some light remodeling. HomeDepot, had the expertise and the materials to really explain and help me out through my remodeling needs A big thanks to them.
I love home Depot. I always get best prices and best variety when I shop here. The quality of their Husky brand is top notch and great value. Thank you!

If there was a negative scale from which to chose, it would be -100!. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER using them to install anything. I learned the hard way. Not one step of the long, arduous process went correctly. When they came to measure, they left out 2 rooms. Really! How is that even possible? It just got worse from there. Absolutely no communication between departments within the store so I shudder to think of how they would manage to communicate with the outside company, Hom Solutions, which has even worse reviews. They also don't communicate with each other. This entire ordeal was a total Cluster F--k. I don't think the manager of the store could find his way out of a paper bag and Customer "Service" is a joke! My case eventually went to the "Executive Resolutions" department in Atlanta. Guess what, they weren't any better. Nothing was ever resolved and I ended up sending the flooring back to the store. They even got that wrong. Truly unbelievable. Don't know how the CEO goes out in public. I'd be too embarrassed.
I found out later(after my fiasco) that some friends of mine had a washer/dryer installed. After about a year, the dryer started popping and then exploded putting a hole in the wall. The installers had used improper screws too close to wiring and this caused arcing of the electrical system. If they hadn't been home, their house could have burned down. Talk about negligence and incompetence! These are the descriptive terms I'd use to describe this store: apathetic, incompetent, inconsiderate (I was awoken by phone on 2 occasions for no reason) and just plain pitiful.
