That is a truly impressive solution for managing taxes! I am myself quite a cautious person, trying to comply with all the rules the government imposes, so paying taxes is quite mandatory. With their mobile application, it's very easy to manage taxes, pay them and be an obedient citizen :) It doesn't take a lot of time to sign up, to understand how to interact with the mobile application because the interface is intuitively clear and navigation is very straightofrward. Thanks developers for this service!
I filed my taxes with them last year and the experience was much better than with a certain competitor, but this year I couldn't file at all thanks to their two-step verification and lack of customer service. I changed phones (and numbers) since last year and now they won't let me into my account. The "customer service" number sent me an email which led me into the same horrible loop. Despite me having access to the email, entering the verification number, and entering the password, I could not file because I didn't have access to the phone number. This is sooooooooo ridiculous. They've permanently lost a customer because of this idiocy!
I don't know if I can use the word cluster$#*! online. However, the word best describes my H&R Block experience in their Euclid Avenue office, Helena, Montana. I used the walk-in option - my information was in order - I filled out the required information and left my paperwork.
After some time, I called to inquire as to the status of the preparation. They couldn't locate my file and intimated I must have taken my information to a different office. My file was under my middle name but I had to suggest they look there.
My work was given to a temporary employee - terminated on 15 April. She totally screwed up and I had to explain the error. When I then received a call saying the mistakes had been corrected - although I was told that a particular item of concern couldn't be calculated because it "wasn't in their system." I had earlier been advised "there was no extra charge" because the taxes were originally incorrect, but when I went to pick them up - there was an additional charge added. I explained that was not my understanding and I ended up not paying the additional fees - which seemed about right given the situation.
16 years I've filed with H&R Block. I will never use this service again after the fiasco that is my 2021 taxes. First I had to mail my taxes by mail because one crypto form they had online led to an error on their website and flagged that it could not be filed online. (the error being one form required multiple dates for a crypto trade, and the following form would not accept the trade date.) So I paid my $100 prep fee printed my forms and paid to mail them in. Fast forward 5 and a half months later... my taxes just got returned because my W-2s were not included with my tax paperwork. (You know the ones I uploaded and included in my tax return filing.)
I spoke with one customer service agent that was going to refund part of my fees for the error, but my computer died, do I chatted up another agent who then said she would not refund it because, "I used the product, so we can't refund anything."
After I gave up, she accused me of missing a step and not following directions. (I am looking at my mailing instructions that included no mention that any other documents would need to be included in my finished tax docs.) Then I got a snarky ending to our chat, thanking me for being the reason H&R Block is so great.
H&R Block error meant I had to mail my taxes.
Almost 6 month for the IRS to process.
A missing do means I have to refile.
And then I'm treated like garbage.
Never again.
Where to start. I sent the tax specialist my documents via email as she had requested. She has been doing our taxes for a handful of years so I trusted her. My 1st mistake. We go to our appointment, she has our taxes prepared, we sign and a year later Ireceive a letter from the IRS that I owe them OVER $3000. Long story short the woman forgot to include my Unemployment Benefits (2021 Covid). I didn't check her math...My 2nd mistake. I have PROOF I emailed all my income documents to her. I can't even get someone from H&R Block to speak to me about this issue and she is asking me for $99 to "help". She keeps saying I should have paid for the piece of mind guarantee. I didn't think I needed piece of mind that she was doing her job & not making HUGE mistakes. I know it was an accident but not even an apology and I'm in debt to the IRS thousand plus penalties and interest.
Im not going to share this woman's email address on the internet. But if anyone would like to see the proof I definitely have it. I can share the emails and texts to prove the mistake

We never had to pay the IRS but now this year we had to pay they screwed up and don't want to own up to it because they know they screwed up on the paper work
The IRS assigned me a pen# because someone tried to use my SS#. Since I'd moved a time or two I failed to give the P. O. my change of address. (That's when it went down hill) After trying in vain to contact the IRS for two years to get my new pin # that they send a different one every year. (Endless attempts) I was told the only way to get my stimulus check(s) was to file through the mail. I go to H&R Flop and explain my situation, I hadn't worked in a year, so I did have a W-2 just the stimulus checks (3 of them) the lady said No problem, she's done this plenty of times. I paid her my $80. Up front & she assured me ALL is well. I didn't get No check in 2 mths. I called her back, again she reassured me its all good. A month pass I called again that office was closed, tax season was over. Here it is a year and a tic later, now I do have W-2s I've been working. I finally track the lasy down. She gives me the cold shoulder, and while laughing at me constantly telling me what she can't do. Now it's call the IRS, call the IRS. What happen to I'm a see this through with you, and ALL the assurance & reassurance? I know who I won't EVER again File my taxes With. H&R Crock!
4 years I do my tax with H&R Block., never I really happy with them., I used because I don't know any accountant near me. My tax is very simple., I do not have depend., I do not have any exeption., is only my wages tips, other comp. And federal income tax withheld., every year it is same., so they need only copy and change number and I paid $85
BUT THIS YEAR IT IS SAME AND THEY WHANT CHARGE $122! I ask why?! They said because I have 4 w2 OMG this is THE MOST RIDICULOS THING I'VE EVER HEARD I m a poor women that have 2 job and one company give to me 3 w2 one is $200 another $700 and other $9,000 I'm not rich person!
So I said give to me back my paper and I m going to try gat another accountant!

Peace of Mind equal Pain in pocket. I filed my taxes thru H&R as I always do. The evening we went to the office the employees have questions on how to add the incentives for my two sons (one of then and adult that submit his own taxes. After consulting with the office manager they decided how to submit the numbers and prepared the taxes. Later in the year I received a note from the IRS the I owed them $502.18. When I called the office, Mr. Raymond Giroauard indicated that it was obvious their mistake. He new exactly where the numbers came from and told me to present a claim against the Peace of Mind insurance that I paid every year. As a result a letter from the insurance indicated that the claim was denied because the complete everything based on what we told them, that it was our fault and that the insurance did not cover. When I contacted the office Mr. Alfikri Montilla indicated that Mr. Giroaurd was out until January and that the it was I looked at the note from our claim department, and Peace of Mind doesn't cover rebates which unfortunately Stimulus payment is considered rebates, not tax related matter.
Its amazing how one agent was clear of the situation and the other blame on us like the insurance company.
After years of using H&R for taxes is time to look for a trusted company that will comply with what they promote so... be careful because Peace of Mind equal Pain in Pocket
I AM COMPLETELY DISSAPOINTED AND STRESSED OUT WITH HR BLOCK. I HAVE FAXED 2X A TRANSFER REQUEST TO HAVE MY FUNDS TRANSFERRED INTO MY EXTERNAL BANK. I WAS TOLD BY 3 REPS THAT IT WAS RECEVIED AND IN PROCESS. I WAS TOLD I HAD TO WAIT THE 5 BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE TRACKING OR FILING COMPLAINT. TODAY IS DAY 6 AND THEY HAVE NO TRACK OR RECORD. I WAS HUNG UP ON 4 TIMES AND NOT ONE REP OR SUPERVISOR WAS ABLE TO HELP GIVE ME AN ANSWER AS TO WHAT HAPPENED TO MY PAPERWORK. IT SHOULD NOT BE THIS DIFFICULT TO ACCESS MY FUNDS. COMPLETELY DISSAPOINTED AND WOULD NOT RECCOMEND ANY ONE TO USE EMARALD CARD SERVICES WITH HR BLOCK. THEY DO NOT CARE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS.

1st of all their customer service is useless. I don't know how many times I had to repeat myself and then they couldn't even answer my question which was in reference to the online tax filing system and if they were sending money using my checking account info to the IRS and/or Idaho Tax Commission or if was responsible. My printed tax form included reference to the IRS and it's aceptance of my return and a voucher. For the Idaho Tax Commission there were printed directions on how to pay them with a voucher but a voucher was not received hence trying to gain clarity with H&R Block customer service. So I sent a check to the IRS and payed Idaho Income Tax Commission through their website. The next day the money was withdrawn from my account per H&R Block for their fee, the IRS and Idaho Income Tax, thousands of dollars. Thankfully my husband rescued the IRS check from the post office that morning but Idaho Tax Commission said they couldn't reverse the 2nd debit even though they saw another (2) queue for payment and had already received the 1st. The representative of our fine government said it could take several weeks (to months knowing the government) for my return to process and they would see a double payment and refund my money. Wow! I hope that works out! Thanks for the great customer service and clarity! My bank couldn't do anything about it either since the transactions were both authorizedOh well, lesson learned. Don't use H&R Block!
If I could give H & R block zero stars, I would. They are a predatory company who targets poor people. They bait you in with a "no interest loan" against your tax refund, get you to pay exorbitant money for them to prepare and e file a simple return only to tell you that… oops, we messed up and didn't process it as a "rapid refund". So now, you've spent a quarter of your refund for them to prepare and e file your taxes AND you have to pay extra in order to pay them from your refund! So, you could have used another service yourself and paid far less to use the service. I am a social worker. I work with victims of domestic violence. One of my clients is homeless because they are fleeing abuse. This disgusting company is targeting people just like this, people that needed money yesterday, because they are homeless and hungry, only to be taken advantage of. My client was under the impression he was going to receive a 'rapid refund' so he agreed to pay $245.00 for a $890.00 return. When he didn't receive the money, he was told that they 'made a mistake' and they didn't process it correctly for a 'rapid refund'. So, he will have to wait 21 days for his return. He could have gone on a tax prep website and done it himself for far less money and get the return in the same amount of time. It's absolutely disgusting! People should know, this is who H & R Block is targeting. People who are struggling financially, who will pay more money to get money, which, by the way, IT'S YOUR MONEY! You are getting a refund because you overpaid your taxes. They are disgusting predators! Please, think twice about using this POS business!
H & R Block, I want you to know, I am going to leave my review everywhere I can possibly leave a review on the internet, including, the Better Business Bureau. I paid to have an H&R Block small business specialist review the 2019 taxes I completed online, as I have a salaried job but also a small business (LLC, S-Corp). He did not catch that my QBI was not deducted as in the previous year (which I also did with H&R Block) or that no value was entered for my donations. I was unable to reach him to inquire as to why and for assistance amending my taxes. I called the customer service number and scheduled a call with another specialist for the following week. She said that I do not qualify for the QBI for my small business income, even though the IRS website (and my 2018 H&R Block advisor and 2020 tax professional) say otherwise. In fact, she suggested that the IRS may come after me for the 2018 taxes which H&R Block also reviewed for me! Now I will either have to pay a tax professional to amend my return or do it myself, just as if I had used the inexpensive H&R Block self-service option. I am deeply disappointed with both the services I paid for and the lack of customer service. I had a smaller-firm CPS file my 2020 taxes and he saved me thousands. Lesson: when it comes to tax prep, you get what you pay for. I will never use H&R Block again.

They don't even acknowledge it They just keep telling you the same thing over and over not predating to your question or concern. They don't even have the answer to basic questions not just tax questions but questions about there services.nevergive you an answer just go with the same answer even though your telling them that's not what your asking. Save the headache.

After completing my forms for self-employment and the state form I went to check out. They had added a service of having a "Pro Review" for $89.00. I spent hours on hold trying to get that charge off as after filing myself for 37 years, I don't think I need pro review. One person told me I had to have it because I filed self-employment but that is not true at all. It was a slimy up sale. After another 50 minutes I was told that the only way I can get rid of it is to not file a schedule C. Again, not true. We need to get our taxes in so I paid the fee and figured it's money lost that I would try to recover later. Not the case. They sent my taxes to a "Pro" who indicated she would get to them in 3 days. I told her I don't want her services or anyone's services, I just want my taxes sent. She released them to me but I can't print or send them although everything has been paid in full!
But wait, there's more. I spent a total of 3.75 hours on the phone and an additional 2.5 holding in their chat just trying to speak to a live person. I was zero in the queue in the chat multiple times as I watched it bounce back and forth from 0 to 1 before they finally disconnected me. When I logged back on, they were closed. I was hung up on after waiting 50 minutes, 48 minutes and then after I had waited 56 minutes and told my call would be answered in approximately 20 minutes, the next message was your call will be answered in approximately 50 minutes! I held until I was hung up on once again.
They refuse to release the tax forms to the IRS. WTH?
UPDATE: after an additional 2.5 hours, I received a refund on the $89.00 but now there are errors that can't be fixed. A help ticket was created. So, I still can't file my taxes. Grrrr...
We used get it a day head time but can't bc it is a holiday Monday it says on irs website they send it to my emerald card but I still haven't got it
