That is a truly impressive solution for managing taxes! I am myself quite a cautious person, trying to comply with all the rules the government imposes, so paying taxes is quite mandatory. With their mobile application, it's very easy to manage taxes, pay them and be an obedient citizen :) It doesn't take a lot of time to sign up, to understand how to interact with the mobile application because the interface is intuitively clear and navigation is very straightofrward. Thanks developers for this service!

I filed my taxes with them last year and the experience was much better than with a certain competitor, but this year I couldn't file at all thanks to their two-step verification and lack of customer service. I changed phones (and numbers) since last year and now they won't let me into my account. The "customer service" number sent me an email which led me into the same horrible loop. Despite me having access to the email, entering the verification number, and entering the password, I could not file because I didn't have access to the phone number. This is sooooooooo ridiculous. They've permanently lost a customer because of this idiocy!

If you are a nonresident alien like me with F-1 visa, this company might be the worst one.
Your federal refund will be maximized by applying deductions which are not eligible for nonresident aliens, and you might not be able to even notice these things, unless you compare tax documents prepared by other companies, line by line. If you have tax record issues, you would have some issues, when you apply for green card.
I used its online tax refund program, and I talked to one of tax professionals who reviewed my documents that I just wanted to follow tax laws of the U.S. and requested her to fix my tax documents prepared by H&R by removing deductions which are not eligible for a nonresident so that I can get appropriate tax refund.
After that, I don't know why, but my application was just cancelled without any notice from the professional or the company, but my payment was not cancelled. So I spend 4 more hours to cancel the payment. When I called the H&R customer service, I was just transferred a lot, and I should have repeated my personal information so they can identify me and explained my situation again and again.
If you do not have a lot of time to waste working with this company, you might want to pick other company. Now I can have peaceful days because I don't work with it anymore

They only support chromium because... honestly they probably don't give a crap about cyber security or any of that stuff. They figure... "most people use chrome or edge. Fxck everyone else, yeah?" And when you try to do anything about the bugs that you get using FF? They try to make you pay them $30 to even speak to someone. You can tell the chat AI the code is broke in literally every way you can imagine and it will be like:
"Are you upgrading to a live service model for 30 dollars?"
"No. Your code is broke."
"Are you upgrading to a live service model for 30 dollars?"
"The page is frozen and I can't finish my return."
"Are you upgrading to a live service model for 30 dollars?"

The sheer amount of popups trying to get at your money is... absolutely unhealthy. It's like they want to catch the elderly that can't see very well and might click the wrong thing. It reeeeeks of scam. Just overall a bad experience. I don't remember their free service every being quite this bad. But hoo boy. They got bad fast.

I had to install a chromium browser just to do my taxes. They literally listed FF as one of their supported browsers but that's far from the truth. Ridiculous.

Tip for consumers:
My review is because they do not have any indication that their service doesn't run on firefox. They literally list firefox in their supported browsers.

I have been going to H and R for years. Never had an issue u til last year I received a letter from the IRS saying they messed my 2018 taxes up. When I contacted H and R due to paying peace of mind it was never taken care of. I had to go to 4 different offices, I was told the person who did my tax return that year retired and to find out he as not retired but still working at the same site. It took over a year to finally have it filled for peace of mind claim and I was told it was denied. How it was denied when I brought all the tax returns to them and paid peace of mind I don't know. But I am not having to pay a lawyer fee to have H and R sued and make them keep there peace of mind contract. This is unprofessional and a straight out lie because then everyone pays for peace of mind and they don't keep there end of it when it the time comes and they mess it up. Do not go to H and R they don't stand by there mistakes and drag out the process until you either give up or pay for a lawyer. I hope this helps someone from making the same mistake I did and having to pay lawyer fees to have H and R stand behind there word and contracts.

First I have been charged for something that's not true and when they said it was from 3 years ago and I did taxes with them for the last 2 years without this charge. Hmmm. Second my state tax was never sent even though I did my taxes in January. Calling and getting resolution is impossible. I been lied to passed around multiple times given fake numbers. Been left in silence for 20 minutes then hung up on. Then finally after 3 months I bring all evidence of everything and the manager refuses to see them to avoid the truth. She knows I'm agitated and refuses to accept any documentation or answer any questions until it came to the point where I was being treated as if I was not allowed to ask anything and also told me she couldn't help til I be quiet. Then when I come to back and told her to give me supervisor number and told her this is theft and wrong doing two other employees come behind me as if they were security. And start taunting me for a reaction. I hope this is not how this company treats customers. At this point I want the money back for filing fees and this other fee for past services that I did not have reimbursed. I have never been disrespected like this ever. I strongly recommend any other tax company just on the poor customer service alone.

I paid $100 bucks for a return I can normally make on another site for $50. Plus... I waited 6 hours to talk to someone who forwarded me to another person who then hung up. Note to anyone who uses this site.

A) Do not type more then 70 characters on any line. In fact I would stick with 50 to be safe.
B) Avoid Commas, pound sign or any other characters other then letters and numbers, the system will add commas so don't do it.
C) Don't expect much help even though your paying $100-150 bucks. I mean if you really need help get up at the crack of dawn on a Sunday or Monday and plan to sit in front of the TV all day becasue that is how long you'll wait. We used this service because of the Chat option but realized quickly the option is useless.
D) Other sites do not normally have chat or help service so that is the only benefit to using H&R block except for the work you have to do it's prob more worth it to just go to a tax preparer. Or better yet... take some free online tax courses and do them yourself. To get the best return you need to be able to adjust what you claim and don't claim an in person service will not do this for you. What you turn in is what you get... This is especially important for home businesses in which having just the right amount of deductions can save you big time. (too little you get burned... too many you get burned). Also if your only going to save $2.00 is it worth it to find receipts and do a butt ton of work... figure out what deductions are worth it and what deductions are not.

Tip for consumers:
Do not enter more then 50 or 60 characters per line, do not use any other characters except letters and numbers....the site will add commas etc.

I had an appointment with Greg at 5 pm to get some advice about capital gains tax. I showed up 10 minutes early and sat down at the waiting area. A red headed lady yelled across the waiting area "can I have your file?" I walked over to her desk and asked "which file would you like?" as I had a large case with all sorts of files and documents. She was not able to tell me which file she wanted. 5 pm came and the red headed lady now went to Greg's booth where she loudly talked and laughed for about 15 minutes, then she left the building. Her desk was attended to by another lady. At 5:20 pm I walked up to the new lady and she yelled "Greg you have a customer". Greg walked out of his booth and had no intention of helping me out, he made me feel very unwelcomed. I sat down anyways and started to ask some questions and he said that my capital gains tax should be paid next year when I file the return. You have to pay this tax in the quarter you received it, not next year. After about 10 minutes I realized he is not going to help me out and got up asking him "how much I owe you?" he said "you don't owe anything". I insisted on paying, he said not to worry about it, that they care more about good opinion. Well, my opinion is, Garbage. This is H&R Block at 4953 Okeechobee Boulevard, West Palm Beach, FL

So HR Block owes me 89.90 because of a website problem that over charged me and all I get I'd esclated to another level, even after I sent all requested paper work.

I purchased peace of mind in 2018 and 2017 and when it comes to an assistance, other new clients were prioritized and helped. Mis filing document led me to loose $4K not happy.

They charged me $425.00 to do my taxes. An accountant would charge $250 maximum, I only have one investment property and 3 jobs. I had an appointment and showed up and nobody was there no explanation no apology. They only wanted to give me $25 off my final bill for that inconvenience when I lost A-day off work and gas. HR block Coventry did not get back to me after I called corporate for about 3 weeks. Lois Marandola was very rude to me on the phone. She lied and said they could only take $50 off And she did not even tell me that she was from H and R block she expected me to know who she was. I called corporate again to complain. They had somebody call me back at 705pm and tell.me I would get $75 off but I had to pay by midnight. I was at work. I called corporate to complain again how rude they spoke to me as if they were a collections agency. The general manager finally called me back and they took a $100 off. Lois your a liar, and you said the max you could take off was $50. Thank you and thank you to the other clown who gave me a deadline and was rude. I ended up saving 100.

Do not go here they will rip you off and they don't care or even apologize for their mistakes. They behave like used car sales people nice to your face once there's a problem they don't get back to you and give you the run around!

I would give NO STARS I've been going to them for years I've never in my life been screwed by the until this year they approved my loan in Nov but denied my advance 1st and foremost when doing my taxes they said I'd pay 285 for filing fee (crazy I only pay them to do i so I can get the advance so I paid them for something I could have done) they said I owed them 401 for the loan now when I call they are saying the are taking more WTF and they have my money and just holding IVE NEVER USED A PREPAID OR REAL BANK JUST HOLD MY MONEY JUST BECAUSE I'm calling around about this asap and this was my last year with them.
Never again they are shady and will screw u over.

I've used the Deluxe version of TaxCut for years with no issues. This year I needed to purchase the Premium and Business version to do Estate taxes. The user interface is horrible as it has minimal interviews and basically just points you to open complicated forms to fill in (especially the State) with no help. Obviously, this is for tax professionals who know what goes in the forms, but that was not advertised when I purchased it.

After I finished the federal and state, I tried to print the returns only to receive a message stating "cannot access closed file". The only option it gave was to close program. Once I closed the program and restarted I attempted to open the return that I had worked on for 4 hours. I got an error stating "object reference not set to an instance of an object".

I called the support line and after being transferred to 3 different people, the support reps only solution was to reinstall the software which resulted in the same error. Then she asked ME what we should do. It is obvious to me this is some sort of database corruption error that she had no idea how to deal with. After answering the same questions over and over such as "what operating system are you running", "what anti virus software are you running, "what is the error again" it was clear she wasn't going to be able to solve the issue. Her recommendation was to start over with a new form or ask for a refund.

We've been using our local HR Block office for years. Due to our checking account being recently hacked, our payment to them was suspended because we had to put a freeze on that account. I immediately called the office we used and explained the situation, leaving a credit card number for them to charge the amount we owed. Was told they had to wait to charge the amount until they received an official notification from my bank that the payment had been denied. In the meantime, and this is only two weeks later mind you, I received a letter from a collection agency in the mail for the amount we owed, complete with late fees and everything! They had immediately turned the matter over to collections. Never mind the entire situation was not my fault, I had put a remedy in place to fix the situation (the credit card),and we are long-standing H&R Block clients with an over 10 year history with this office. When I called the local office to speak to our tax preparer, she was polite but I could tell she didn't really care and wasn't interested. She wasn't sympathetic at all to what I was going through and I could tell she just wanted to get me off the phone.

They call on time for appointment and call you over and over again to get your information, but once they get your money they are ghost to any questions you have.

I've been with her lock for 15 years I went today along with 6 of my colleagues they said we had to have bank accounts we all have never had bank accounts I don't want to switch my tax place I love her lock they've helped me so much but if they don't straiten this out me and my 6 colleagues are going to switch to TurboTax and none of us want to please hr block straiten this out I don't wanna have to go to turbo tax

I am an HR lock customer and has been since 2008 I went to get my emerald advance loan but now they're asking for bank statements and I know quite a few people at least 50 people that work the same job as I am and none of us have bank accounts I never have had bank accounts I'm self employed I get paid cash and it goes strait to my bills so HR lock get it together this needs fixed

So HR block has this thing where you can drop Off taxes, upload and send them in or come in. I decided I would send them in. I figured it would take a bit longer. Cheryl Handled mine the whole process was a joke. First off I always do my own taxes this year I thought there had to be a mistake so I figured I'd have an "expert" to look it over. It took 3 WEEKS for her to finish. Then she didn't even call to tell me it was done. I've called a few times and the "operator" was ghetto then instead of putting me hold she said "Emily something something is on the phone" I tried my hardest to be patient. I messaged her didn't reply I waited a couple days before I decided to call and leave a message. She FINALLY got back and she said she emailed me instead of
Calling she was rude every time I spoke with her. I finally went in. She never told me what my upfront cost is. We sit down again she was rude even walked off to talk and laugh to the phone operator for a few minutes while I'm at her desk. I've already waited 3 WEEKS I was pissed at this point. We get to the end and she's like "You pay me $250" yet the ADVERTISEMENT IS "free" for basic returns. Ok I'm like well how much is my return? She said "100 and you owe $84" so basically $15 I told her I'll do them myself. This time I'm taking my time re reviewing everything and there it was I was paying on another state I didn't even live in. So her being an expert should have seen that. I will continue to do my own taxes from now on. Screw HR LYING BLOCK. They need to change their name to "unprofessional false advertisement"

I have gone to the same H & R Block location in New Jersey for 50 years, and have dealt with the

Just purchased the "Download" of H&R Block "Deluxe" tax software. This was after getting an actual DISK BOX in the mail, that had NO DISK! It just had a "note" in the box saying I had to go online to download the actual software. What idiot thought THAT was smart? Millennials! THEN... after purchasing the crap online, the file to download DOESN'T DOWNLOAD! It says to open the file on the "window that just opened" - - - - there is no "window that opened"! What a piece of $#*!! And these idiots want to charge ANOTHER $10 to get a "backup disk" copy?! What a bunch of buffoons! Seriously, SKIP H&R Block - they HAD BEEN GOOD... now... THEY SUCK!

I never shared nor received the final page requesting my personal banking account and routing numbers as I was to owe the IRS so I called HR Block only to be place on hold for hour as the female on the other end said she didn't know and was seeking help. After hanging up and redialing I spoke to a male who said the previous person left no notes although I did have her name. He couldn't help me and said his boss wouldn't give me a credit back as I could still go directly to the IRS and pay which I did. Woke up two days later to two withdrawals from two of my sperate accounts neither of which I ever had the opportunity to share with HR Bock? One of these accounts I did share with the government as I stated above and was advised by HR Block to go to directly. I will never use them again as their software and customer service are horrible.

I gave my taxes to H & R Block in February and since it was for a Trust they only had a few specialists who did those. It is now April 18, Tax Day, and I had to file an extension. I left messages and never received a call back. I went in on 2 different occasions and the receptionist kept stringing me along. She was trying to make me an appointment until one of the workers told her it had to be a certain type of expert since I was doing a trust filing. She then emailed the person and sent a text and told me to call back the next day around 2. I did and had to leave a message. I finally went in again on April 18th and she told me I would need to file an extension. She told me I was in her pile in front of her to call that day. She gave me the form, envelope, and a stamp because if I had them do it I would have to pay $99. She then wanted to make sure she gave me the right form, and once again I had to wait while she talked to other H & R Block offices. She said she thought it was right but wasn't positive. I asked for my tax envelope which she got out of the file cabinet and said sorry. I told her I would look it up and figure it out myself. So bottom line, my taxes sat in a filing cabinet in Martinez, CA for 2 months at which time I had to go online to figure out which form (the form she gave me was wrong) to request an extension. H & R Block is terrible and I will never use them again. I don't have any proofs of purchase since my stuff was tossed aside and never worked on.

Practically a scam. The rep that filed my taxes didn't know how to do her job. CS are shady, no one wants to answer your questions. Very dogey, will put you on hold for hours on end and transfer all the time. They gave me the INCORRECT link to pay my state taxes, got the correct link from state tax rep. So that was fun. The link that was provided to me by rep to pay off state taxes was asking me for personal information. I am glad now that wasn't going through. Multiple H&R reps, including my tax accountant told me I wouldn't be owed money since I owe money to irs and state but learned that was wrong (I usually get some amount in refunds everytime I file my taxes). Tax rep didn't really explain anything, she just wanted my money. I learned after approving my taxes, she never asked for my direct deposit info (I usually fill that out when filing my taxes for tax refunds). This is where I was told it doesn't matter because I wasn't owed any money anyway. She claimed on my documents that I'd be paying off my state taxes via check and fed via cash. Trying to find a way to pay off my taxes was a nightmare. For whatever reason, no one wanted to even provide me with accurate resources (or any at all) in order to pay off my taxes. I had to dig around the website myself. I reported the tax rep but doubt that does anything because the entire CS team don't want to give you information to help you. Take your money elsewhere. What a nightmare.

What a crock. Made me pay before telling me form wasn't available that I needed to fill out so it couldn't be file until form is available. And won't refund what I paid so I went elsewhere and had our taxes done. Glad I did, got a $1000 more elsewhere. 10 years experience?! Damn if I had 10 years experience and didn't understand an irs letter just stating I needed to claim Covid 19 funds then I'd sue whoever taught me to do taxes. Every question I had you had to go ask your supervisor. But I will say thank you for upsetting me (I cried) to the point of walking out otherwise I wouldn't have gone elsewhere and got us a much bigger return. IF YOU WANT EVERY DOLLAR YOUR OWED DONT GO TO HR BLOCK FOR SURE. I'll pray for y'all. Just remember God don't like ugly

I am truly disappointed in h and r block they give a guarantee they make a promise they shouldn't cause they do hold true to what they say I've been left to fix the mistake that a tax preparer did on my taxes quit a few of them actually and for months I've been trying to get someone from h and r block to help me with amendment and Ive just been passed around from office to office made appointments after appointments and then at the last min I've been told they couldn't help me they didn't have much experience since January 25 the 2022 I've been trying to get someone from h and r block to help me get this amendment done and I've had no luck I need block to have my back

I received an email setting an appointment for me to have my taxes prepared by H&R Block. I accepted the appointment, only to be contacted and told that the preparer needed to change my appointment. I then set another appointment and was again contacted to change time and date. Finally, I set an appointment via hrblock.com to go to my local office on a certain date and time. HRB sent me a text message confirming the place/date/time of my appointment, but when I arrived as scheduled, the office was permanently closed! I had to waste even more time travelling to another office, and even then could not get an in-person appointment. They offered to fax my documents to some preparer in some office who would hopefully get the returns prepared in time. No discount or consideration was offered to compensate for my time/inconvenience. Worst part is, I found out that the office at which I ha scheduled had actually been closed BEFORE I made the online appointment! Yet no one called to let me know. Very disappointing!
