I was having a lot of issues with Indeed originally, I couldn't get them to respond after taking down a very critical hiring ad we had up. It seems like an algorithm just flagged our account and took it down. But after talking with the Indeed support team on here, they got my ads back up (just in time) and even gave me a free sponsor on our most important one. Thank you Indeed support team, I really appreciate you taking the time to work with me - I knew when humans looked at it, they would know we were legit. Thank you again everyone at Indeed Support!
Ive been trying to post a add to hire employees but Indeeds awful trust and safety team continue to refuse me and pause account even adding three forms of utility bills etc...just awful. AND there is NO customer service or accountability or followup or supervisors to speak with They have lost my confidence and business and I will never promote them. I prefer a lesser competitor as opposed to indeed. Worst experience I have ever had online
We have been sponsoring jobs through Indeed recenlty as we need to recruit a large time for our startup. We haven't even started our candidate review and Indeed decided to disable our account for no apparent reason and Indeed even blocked out our billing and invoices so we are even unable to view documents that are required for tax purposes. This is completely unacceptable and we will complain directly with the BBB for resolution.

We recruit carers for quadriplegic vulnerable adults in the UK. We have used Indeed.com for a long time. Yesterday we ran an advert with the strapline "Don't be put off by the Coronavirus" and we had lots of applications as we still need to recruit carers. Then 25 minutes ago our Employer account is disabled. We appeal, explaining the situation and how we need more key workers for our vulnerable client base. Six minutes later our appeal is rejected, no reason. No ability to post, no understanding, no empathy for our clients. They've been happy to take money from us for years and when we really need applicants, they kick us when things are bleak. I hope they never have to rely on a key worker. It's a sad, corporate, guzzler of cash with no empathy.

Update 4/3: Thank you for following up with us via private message, John! We were happy we were able to work with you and get your jobs live!
This is my second go with Indeed.com. I was told that my ad's would be free and was under the impression they were. I sponsored ad's for 3 days and was invoiced and paid for these 3 days which totaled $60. Then I get a $500 charge at the end of the same month! Second go around, I am under the impression I am once again signing up for free ad's and come to find out I am charged $19 to $25 DAILY per ad. I am billed $1,000+ for 4 days of Ads. I even spoke with a representative about how I posted FREE Ad's and would consider sponsoring in a few weeks, and now I am charged $1000 for 4 days of Ads. How ridiculous - I do not recommend! The website is completely misleading and does not explain how it Defaults to Sponsored ad's on a daily basis. As a small business owner, this type of misinformation and confusion is costing my business BIG TIME.

Hi Melissa, we apologize for the poor experience you have had on Indeed. We have responded to your review via private message for further assistance.
Easy to use. Some limitation due to searchability. Still need to use traditional methods to find candidates. The more common the job the better indeed.com works. Very cost effective and easy to control costs.

Hi Tom, thanks for your feedback. Please let us know if there's anything we can do to help in the future.
It is a good site that shows jobs from other reputable sites like careerbuilder, hotjob, snagajob, job.com, My complaint is they did have a scam site "OFFICE-CREW.COM, which seemed ok at first, but when I received a response to my online application, they asked for a verification screening. Their form / questions were very good, but then the 3rd step was to verify my identity, so they asked for my SS# and a credit card #, which would not be charged but used for a credit report. RED FLAG! I stopped and reported it to Indeed.com and they removed all of their ads the next day. I also reported it to the Attorney General in Illinois, asking if these fraudulent sites are listed anywhere, and what steps they are taking to remove or alert job seekers from these scams.

Hi Toni, thank you for the lovely feedback! Congratulations on the new job!
We have been using Indeed to find employees for a couple of years, however we placed an Ad for Commission based worker and our account was disabled. I have since learned we were not allowed to place this Ad and maybe Indeed should have disabled this Ad but not our whole account and we can no longer see the ******* plus applicant we have had!

Hi Shishir, because the login IP address is not in the United States, the jobs will need to be sponsored in order to appear on the site. However, if you are wanting to post jobs in the country in which you have created your account, you will be able to list these as free job postings. Please email us at sitejabber@indeed.com if we can assist further. Thank you.
I am part of a newly founded organization whose mission its to provide a full range of therapy services to vulnerable populations including children with various disabilities. We are launching operations across multiple regions including in Canada and the U.S.
We have spent months developing programs, partnering with other therapy and social service providers so we can make real impact in communities. One of our last phases is hiring and we thought Indeed would be perfect to get our recruiting pipeline going.
They disabled our ability to post without giving a reason. We appealed, figuring an algorithm flagged us and once a human put eyes on our listing we'd be back up... but they rejected our appeal as well.
I eventually got a human on the phone and they said it was because the billing address didn't match our business address... Nowhere in their posting guidelines does it say this is a requirement.
Now we've spent hours researching online and calling their support number trying to get our ad back up, instead of focusing on launching our critically important programs.
I'm appalled at their lackadaisical approach to supporting these issues. We have started actively researching alternatives, we just didn't foresee that we'd have issues like this, especially since we're paying for our ads to be sponsored. Do better, Indeed.
If anyone knows of better job posting services, let us know!

Hi Jamil, thanks for reaching out. To provide some clarity, all accounts and jobs are subject to our standard rolling reviewing process that can occur at any time. Our team has concluded that Indeed will be unable to show your openings in our search results and the account will remain in its current disabled status. In addition, Indeed does not allow non-job postings. This includes, but is not limited to, training and education opportunities, multi-level marketing opportunities, volunteer jobs, franchising opportunities, jobseeker employment solicitation, expired jobs, and jobs which do not represent a specific employer vacancy. Indeed always retains the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. If you have urgent hiring needs, we suggest utilizing other hiring services.
Like many others who have reviewed on this platform, my account was also disabled out of the blue with no justification or reason. I also received hundreds of applications in a very short period of time (without paying for their sponsorship) and for some reason that makes my posting go against the rules? I of course appealed the decision and was told it was because they could not verify my association with the company and required proof - I thought this should be an easy fix and then provided all documentation they could need (certificate of incorporation, insurance documents, etc.) and they responded simply saying they still chose to disable the account. No further reasoning or discussion offered. I was (am still) shocked to say the least.
It is extremely disappointing as I found Indeed to be a very reliable and trustworthy place to find a job as a seeker, but after having this experience as an employer and now knowing what they do to small companies who have success without paying for their sponsorships, I can't support them again.

Hi! We see you have been working with a representative at Indeed and this is now resolved. If you have any questions, please follow up with that representative for further assistance. Thank you!
I've had an employer account posting jobs for open handyman positions, and without any notice, my account was closed for being "in violation of Indeed's terms of service". I appealed the decision and offered my company website, and proof of business ownership. Instead of communicating WHY, they just decide to not allow me to post - POSTS I SPONSOR BY THE WAY. Find another site, this one does not care about helping small business owners find candidates.

Hi Nick, all accounts and jobs are subject to our standard reviewing process. The account has gone through our reviewing process and our team has concluded that we will not show these openings in our search results. The account will remain in its current disabled status. As the account has been disabled by Indeed you do not have the option to post a new position. Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. This is a final decision that will not be reversed. If you have urgent hiring needs, we highly suggest utilizing other hiring services. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Hi there, it is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. We would be happy to further assist you with any additional issues you may have that pertain to your Indeed employer account. Indeed is very deceptive about its' billing practices. I ran a short national ad recruiting salespeople in April 2018. I watched the ad because they'd completely ignored my budget in the past. The ad only ran for 15 minutes before I canceled it, but the charges continued to accrue. I called indeed to complain and they refused to refund the overcharges and also signed me up for a monthly resume subscription without my knowledge. I have called multiple times trying to get this canceled and get a refund with no luck. I called Friday 7-6-18 and the rep was very nice and asked me to update my card on file so they can issue me a refund. I updated my card because they said that's the only way they can refund me, and Indeed charged me another $100! Do not give Indeed your credit card numbers! They are untrustworthy and are crooks!
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT GIVE INDEED YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER. THEY ARE CROOKS AND ONLY WANT TO CHARGE YOU MONEY. THEY'LL SIGN YOU UP FOR SUBSCRIPTIONS WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND THEN REFUSE TO REFUND YOUR MONEY! BEWARE!

After joining my new company in September of last year I worked closely with my team of 3 Indeed reps to ensure my new organization was properly meeting all search quality standards. We revamped the entire recruiting process all the way down to the job ad and the interview scripts to ensure there were zero search quality issues. My organization had been plagued with a run of issues, hence why they brought me in. Fast forward 8 months later, out of the blue, my organization was disabled. My indeed reps stopped answering my emails, I lost access to thousands and thousands of applicants that we had already purchased, and still to this day cannot get a path forward. No rationale. No rhyme or reason. They have now crippled our recruiting engine single handedly with no recourse. We offered rectification countless times but they won't tell us what we did wrong. It's disgusting that a company can do quickly ruin an essential function of a business with zero regard for the lives they impact.
You have to do better, Indeed. I spent thousands of dollars to play by your rules and we still got the brunt end.
Tip for consumers:
Find something else. They will get you set up, take your money, then pull the rug out from under you without reason or help.

Hi Michael, thanks for reaching out. To provide some clarity, all accounts and jobs are subject to our standard rolling reviewing process that can occur at any time. Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. The first time I used this account to post a job ad, my first, I was excited and then BANG I was blocked and this is how they make you feel "You are nothing, we don't care about you, we won't even tell you what you did wrong' It's like an angry child telling you to GO AWAY I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU
I find it ironic that they answer here is "If you have urgent hiring needs, we recommend utilizing other hiring services"
This really left a bad taste in my mouth, the way this is handled is telling me this organisation don't share my value so I will follow their advice and use another company.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use them!

Hi Mikael, we are sorry to hear that you are having a poor experience. We have an extensive moderation process that is designed to protect our job seekers and employers, all accounts are subject to this review and it can happen at any time. If an account is flagged this way you can reach out to our Trust & Safety team to appeal the process. We can see that you have already done this and a member of our team has followed up with more details. We advise following up there so this can be resolved at the earliest opportunity.
I went through the prompts and created an ad to hire an administrative assistant for my company. I took the time to be detailed posting as much information as possible about the position, the pay and the requirements. I put up with their constant marketing emails as I decided if their $15 per applicant was worth the money considering the applicant may not actually show up. Having decided no one could control that I pulled the trigger and it asked me to verify my company via a bill or some sort of document. I chose our insurance and within minutes the account was completely disabled without any explanation what so ever. I appealed the decision and have yet to hear from them and definitely not in the same time frame that they chose to disable my account. Given the many choices out their for hiring you would think that they would take this many bad reviews as a sign that their generic email they send informing you of your account being disabled would have some sort of explanation so corrective actions could be taken. Lets just say Im not impressed at all with their process and I'm thankful I this happened early on instead of in the middle of the hiring process as many have also complained about.

My company has been a paying customer of Indeed for recruiting for years. We are Federal government contractors, registered with the GSA, SBA, D&B, etc. Without any notice, Indeed suspended job postings, so I called and was told I have to send them a utility bill with my company name to "prove" we are who we say we are?
Then, they will review my account to be reactivated between1-3 business days. I couldn't believe it so I called again and the policy was confirmed. Imagine if you have been living in your house for 2 years and they suddenly shut off the power and ask for a copy of your birth certificate, then maybe restore power 3 days later, food rotting in the refrigerator. Hi Armand, we have responded to your review by private message. Please follow up with us there.
I am a recruiter and support specialist of a small consulting company providing marketing and business management services to our clients. Other company members include CEO, Web developer, HR Manager, Marketing executives, etc. I am urgently hiring for a Marketing Assistant to join us immediately.
I don't know why my employer account is disabled. My company email was verified at the beginning. I am happy to verify it again if needed. If it is because of the website, the website is still under construction and will be live soon. I have also added the link to the Facebook page (https://facebook.com/Marketable-Growth-Inc**************) for your reference. If there is anything wrong with the job listing, please let me know. I am happy to edit it.
I submitted an appeal but received an automated rejection email without any details. I kindly request you to enable my account. As I mentioned earlier, this is an urgent requirement. I believe Indeed is the best platform to help us find the right candidate. Thank you.

Hi Lucas, we have sent you a private message. Thank you.
Our organization set up a Company Profile on Indeed.com to give our company better visibility to prospective job applicants. We worked very hard to achieve a 5-star rating on the 'Reviews' section of our Company Profile, which has been listed for several years now. Recently, a completely separate organization created an additional Company Profile on Indeed.com and used the exact same name as our Company, but did not include any differentiating info (such as a logo, address, phone#, Tax ID#, etc). This other organization obtained two negative reviews on their profile. I brought this situation to the attention of several representatives at Indeed.com and asked them for assistance in differentiating our Profile (with a 5-star review average) from the other Profile of the same name (with a 1-star review average). Do you know what Indeed did next? They decided to MERGE the two profiles together, effectively forcing us to inherit 2 negative reviews that did not belong to us. I called and wrote Indeed several times to protest this egregious move and they flat out refuse to fix it even though they have acknowledged that the other Profile is/was not related to our Profile in any way, shape, or form. Now, they have irreparably tarnished our organization's online reputation by forcing our Review Average to plummet, due to the addition of these invalid reviews. Employers, beware of doing business with this organization!

Hi Doug, as we shared on Facebook with you, we do apologize for any misinformation that maybe have been shared. Taking a look into this from our end, we see that the pages in question are for the same company which is why they were merged. We do have a policy around having 1 page per company.
We've also connected with your dedicated representatives on your account and they have explained that they have asked you to provide documentation showing proof that the reviews on your company page are for a separate company. Without this information, our team is not able to remove the reviews from the company page. If you do believe those reviews are for a separate company they will need proof to further assist with this. Your representative did email you yesterday, please respond back with the requested information and she will further assist you.
Im an employer trying to place an add and come to find you have to pay per click on your add. The more you pay keeps your add more visible. So. 25 cents per click is the cheapest, but your way down on the pages of adds. Or you could pay $1.25 per click and be at the top of the add pages. Am i the only one who sees a huge problem with this. There is no regulations on who clicks an add. Anyone who is anybody can click on your add and you have to pay for it. So Mike who just got fired from his diswashing job decides he wants a new career and has no expierence wants to see what my add is about and I have to pay for it. Or not to mention the millions who are unemployment and required by the state to actively look for a job they just send out bogus resumes willy nilly to keep their weekly check coming and i have to pay for it! This is outrageous! No thank you Indeed you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Hello Elizabeth, sorry for the confusion surrounding the pay per click option. We also offer the ability for employers to post free jobs on Indeed if their accounts are approved by our Search Quality team. We also offer assistance with writing job descriptions and titles so that your job can be successful on Indeed. While we cannot prevent someone from clicking on an ad and applying, we can help make sure that all job seekers understand the requirements and qualifications of the role. Please let us know if we can assist you with your account by reaching out to us at sitejabber@indeed.com
Long story short, I contact Indeed's client success team for about six times now and I still have my account disabled. Our company is having a very rough time due to our main method of hiring is through Indeed and our account has been active on Indeed and has been paying advertisement fees on Indeed for over 2 years now. This just shows how this company treats its most loyal customers, I really hope there is some competition within this industry because I would switch to another website in a heartbeat if there was something equivalent to Indeed. Basically, my account got disabled because in my job posting there was a component where I wrote the ideal applicant would be a current student because we are a tutoring company. I did not realize this was actually age discriminatory and I would be more than happy to change that component of our job advertisement. However, Indeed concluded that my company was not fit for their site and decided to permanently disable my account. What is even worse is that I called the client success team over six times and every time I called them they said it is a minor adjustment and asked me to just re-appeal and they would enable my account. I have wasted a tremendous amount of time trying to fix this issue but Indeed's client support is just too horrible and incompetent to solve this minor misunderstanding. My Indeed account is over two years old and we have spent over three thousand dollars on their website advertising our job posting.

1) Unfriendly
2) Shoddy and Scam
3) Useless & Unhelpful
Still remains. We strongly advise you to stay away from this business. Read google reviews and you will realize the issue that this business is a SCAM and a SHAM.

Hi Joseph, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. All accounts on Indeed go through a standard reviewing process. This review can happen at any time as well. Unfortunately, Indeed has fully reviewed your account and we are unable to show your listings on the site and the account will remain in its disabled status. Indeed or Publishers may reject or remove any Job Ad, and Indeed may disable any Employer’s account, for any or no reason without notice. Although Indeed may indicate why a job or account has been removed or disabled, we cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. This is a final decision that will not be reversed. If you have urgent hiring needs, we recommend utilizing other hiring services. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Our Company was founded by a 74 yr old reputable founder and Indeed took the money after promising to advertise for Sales Executives. After 2 weeks, the Company disabled the account without giving proper explanation and support.
Most of the service rendered was from fake insurance sales profiles and all of them do not exist when contacted. Indeed and its team did not even provide any refund, APOLOGY and some of its staff members were outrageously rude, impolite and uncourteous in their interaction over the phone.

Indeed did contact me after I posted this negative review. They said they wanted to help me "understand" how their billing works. That wasn't the issue, it was that they promised me something and then proceeded to overbill me. To their credit, they did refund me, and I consider the matter closed now. Funny thing is, that they would have gotten off cheaper if they had just worked with me to begin with. They need to empower their agents to do the right thing.
Date of experience: September 25, 2017
Posted a job on 6/17/2017 expecting a cost per click of $. 50-$1.25 since those were their advertised averages.
On 7/24/17 I reviewed the bill and saw I was getting charged a lot more than that. $3.80 per click on average.
I had a good exchange on IM with a rep that said that they wouldd permanently cap the "overbilling" and make the cost per click permanently lower in the range I was expecting.
I reviewed the billing again on 9/6/17, and not only did the cost per click not go down, it actually went up!
After making a good faith effort to resolve the billing issue, they confusingly stated they could not give me a refund for the over billing and would only offer a credit against future clicks. That wasn't acceptable since I hadn't had any qualified applicants so far and wanted to close the ad.
I spoke with a rep and their manager and couldn't get a refund despite being 100% indisputably correct. I had even saved a copy of the IM exchange so that I could prove my story true if needed.
Now, I will be forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company and face possible legal and collection issues because of THEIR dishonesty and unfair business practices.
