I was having a lot of issues with Indeed originally, I couldn't get them to respond after taking down a very critical hiring ad we had up. It seems like an algorithm just flagged our account and took it down. But after talking with the Indeed support team on here, they got my ads back up (just in time) and even gave me a free sponsor on our most important one. Thank you Indeed support team, I really appreciate you taking the time to work with me - I knew when humans looked at it, they would know we were legit. Thank you again everyone at Indeed Support!
Ive been trying to post a add to hire employees but Indeeds awful trust and safety team continue to refuse me and pause account even adding three forms of utility bills etc...just awful. AND there is NO customer service or accountability or followup or supervisors to speak with They have lost my confidence and business and I will never promote them. I prefer a lesser competitor as opposed to indeed. Worst experience I have ever had online
We spent over $800 to post for 2 jobs and only one was filled thru Indeed. We filled the other position via Craigslist for $45 posting.
I used to have an applicant tracking system that was grandfathered into Indeed's Organic postings. It was great! We could post unlimited positions and received numerous applicants. Then Indeed starting nit picking EVERYTHING as an attempt to force us to pay for advertising. Then they reneged on our grandfathered organic postings. This really hurt our numbers in applications we received. I got a phone call from an Indeed rep. Who told me I would receive approx. 40 applications per day, it would cost me approximately $2 / applicant etc., etc. They want me as an independent recruiter to pay them $2000 / mo. That is a HUGE expense. I asked several times for information in writing on how I am to be billed. I wanted to exactly how it works. I got a very generic email that explained little. I told him if they could promise me the volume it may be worth it. Promised the applicant quality will be better too or I won't have many applicants that do not qualify for a position. Within 2 days my account billing jumped from $87 to $497. Are you kidding me? I was only able to do 10 postings at a time "because my costs would get out of hand". LOL! IT ALREADY DID in 2 days. I only got 29 application. I called my rep and was furious. I was told it was because their system crashed and they will fix it. But I have to pay the current bill and they will credit me $200 on the next billing cycle. The short story is this... They back NOTHING up in writing so you are easily scammed in to erroneous billing for little response and poor application quality. So why should I pay them? I was completely misled and I am disgusted! VERY unhappy. Bad business. Maybe Indeed needs to start rethinking longer term rather than get their money now! You can make consistent money by paid monthly memberships by employers & recruiters. Or rethink the whole organic postings and stop being greedy! There has to be a better way to make money and improve your customer satisfaction to retain your customers. Your CPM model is a scam! I didn't appreciate the misleading sales pitch.
Tip for consumers:
Don't buy into it until they can fully explain in detail how you will be charged and back their numbers up in writing. Who knows if they are making it all up. All I know is your bill will be less than $100 for 5 days of use and up near $500 in less than 48 hrs.
When I got the email that our company's account was disabled, I wasn't very concerned because we hadn't done anything wrong. I filed an appeal and double-checked my email to make sure I didn't miss any verification notice they may have requested that led to the suspension. Not even 10 minutes after filing the appeal, I received the email stating that our account was deemed unfit permanently. I was confused so I appreciated that they included a link to policy on business models explaining their decision, but I became even more confused by what I was reading.
I understand why they would ban the companies described in that policy violation. It was fairly distressing to read as a recruiter. But every reason behind their decision, everything I read in the violation is absolutely inapplicable to our business. Our open positions were honest and genuine, providing correct information for the position title, description, salary, location, clients, industry, and company details. I understand that account reviewers probably do not have the time to vet each business individually and personally, but having the account removed by no fault of the company or its operations is heartbreaking.
I had heard that some businesses had issues with Indeed blocking their accounts, read some reviews, but I thought as long as I actively engaged with Indeed and was authentic then it wasn't something to worry about. We used Indeed to fill any open positions in the company over the past year, sponsoring ads since reopening after lockdown and gladly paying whatever necessary to get the candidates we've seen so much success with. I recommend that all companies should use it while they can... but never rely on it. The rug may be pulled out from under you seemingly right when the company and candidates need it the most.
These employer review sites are a great idea. Obviously, the managers bad-mouthing them don't agree, since it hinders their ability to get off on harassing and abusing their workers. They feel any worker who refuses to be a doormat is a disgruntled worker. Foxnews even put out an article trying to get candidates to not use these sites to weed out bad employers, which shows they fear it will threaten the ability of management to lure in new victims to be abused. If such a pro-management network so strongly opposes it, then it must be good for workers.
Modern corporate mangers have become sadistic bullies who get a perverse pleasure out of harassing and threatening innocent working people who are struggling to make a living and support their families. They abuse ‘performance reviews' as an excuse to harass, bad-mouth and even slander their people. After the employee leaves, they use the ‘reference' system to continue harassing and slandering their ex-employees.
Management whines that employer review sites turn the tables and give innocent workers a chance to weed out bad and abusive employers. If you can't take it, don't dish it out.
Companies say only disgruntled employees complain when their boss abuses them. Get used to it, employer review sites are here to stay. A good employer treats its people right with fairness and honesty so they don't become disgruntled. Complaints from disgruntled employees show that the employer is at fault, not the employees. If you don't want workers calling you a bad boss, then don't be a bad boss.
The only problem with indeed is that you have to hunt some to get to the employer review. Ideally, the average rating of the employer would show up at the top of the page showing the job offer. It's not that hard to find the review, but it still could be easier. Some people using the site might not even realize that a rating of the employer is even available on indeed.
Tip for consumers:
If you want to make sure you don't wind up with an abusive boss use this site. When you look at a job opening you will see a link on the right side that says the company name underneath "about this company". These give ratings of the company by actual employees. If a lot of the reviews are negative, then it's a good sign that company has a lot of bully managers and you probably won't be happy there.
It would be helpful to give a brief explanation in the first paragraph of what the company does. Otherwise, I need to search the Internet.
Hi Alan, thanks for sharing this feedback with us. We encourage employers to include information about their company in the ad or on their company page. However, we will be sure to pass your feedback along!
Had good respone from candidates, good site to advertise and look for a post. I would fully recommed it.
Thanks for your feedback and review!
I would like a couple of additional status choices and the ability to send a mass e-mail to selected applicants.
Hi Allison, thank you for your feedback. Both of those suggestions are things we are actively working on with our product team.
I used this site to post ads but my account was deleted without any explanations.
Very negative about this site.
Posted a job post for a client to hire bakers for their bakery. Everything sorted, ad is running fine now.
Tip for consumers:
Could be a bit more clear that new poster accounts require vetting.

Hello Steve, thank you for reaching out. As mentioned in our private message, all accounts go through a moderation process whether you are posting for free or sponsoring your position. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
Here is my very short experience with Indeed.com:
I created an account for my boss so we could search for resumes and after sending one email I was advised that my account was suspended and I could no longer send emails.
I contacted Indeed and received this response:
"Thank you for contacting Indeed.
In order to protect our job seeker's information we have a system in place where you must contact the job seeker through your Indeed account first of all, when they reply to your message any contact information they have included on their Indeed account will then become available to you.
So if they have included their phone number it will be available to you at this stage.
If you have any further questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us."
If you're following along you'll note that this response has absolutely nothing to do with our problem. When I replied to that email trying to clarify I received this:
"Thank you for taking the time to go through our appeal process.
We have reviewed your account but are unable to lift the suspension. You are not able to contact job seekers through Indeed.
Suspension of your ability to contact job seekers has no effect on your ability to post or sponsor jobs on Indeed.
Further appeals or related communications for this suspension will not be considered or responded to.
Thank you,
Indeed Compliance"
I'm not exactly sure what the "appeal process" consisted of as I received one email that had nothing to do with my problem and when I tried to clarify I was banned. I don't even know what the basis of our suspension was and according to the email, I cannot even ask because they won't respond.
This is the WORST example of customer service I think I have ever encountered and wanted to make absolutely clear you knew how dissatisfied I was with this experience.
Account disabled with no support provided. Tried contacting them through various channels - no response.
Hi Hassan, thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, we do not see any previous messages or phone calls logged on our end. But, we're happy to help with this situation. We have sent you a private message regarding account-specific information as to why it was disabled. Please feel free to follow up with us there.
Indeed.com has seen better days. They have inexplicably let there site go to heck. There are much better options for job searching these days.
Keeps disabling my posted job with no reason. I posted a normal job, I myself is employer with phone number and all documents. But it was cancelled
Hi Evgeny, all accounts and jobs are subject to our standard reviewing process. The account has gone through our reviewing process and our team has concluded that we will not show these openings in our search results. The account will remain in its current disabled status. As the account has been disabled by Indeed you do not have the option to post a new position. Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. If you have urgent hiring needs, we highly suggest utilizing other hiring services. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
I was able to find the qualified staff I needed for a very reasonable cost! I will use Indeed time and time again! Thanks for being there!
Pretty basic and typical job search website for local companies, good communication and email available between employees and employer
Hi Ashley, thank you for taking the time to share this wonderful feedback with us! We wish you the best of luck in your search!
We were provided with quite a few resumes and were able to hire someone. How the pricing of the resumes works is confusing
As you can read from their reply - its always the same reply - Why do they not ask for documents before allowing you to sign up? Because they want you to pay to advertise, it is not a free service! It is Indeed a giant scam - ask their directors to show you their drivers licenses & documents first before providing yours.
If you read the reviews & replies from Indeed you can see what type of company this is. They make every excuse in the book. It seems they wish to cater only to fortune 500 companies & the little business man is not welcome on their site. They have the vaguest rules, in fact they can & will shut your account down if you do not apply to applicants within a day or so. Accounts disabled for no reason. You wont hear back from support. BEYOND DISGUSTING.
You post a job, one day it works, the next day it doesnt. Bad support, bad ethics and quite questionable. They want to verify all businesses posting on their site yet the company themselves act in a very shady manner.
I was getting back to candidates when all of a sudden they blocked the account. They say 48 hr review, which is basically you go into a black-hole, you are not getting your account back at that stage.
Unless you are prepared to spend thousands with them per month, do not use them!
It is not a free job board
It is a money making scam.
Poor support, poor communication.
Stay away
Reading Indeeds responses is painful. They make excuses, they make up the rules as they go. Mark my words, in time, they will lose their market share & they just need to read the reviews on this site to be reminded why it went downhill.
I am not waiting for them to review my account, I am shutting it down. PLEASE do not have anything to do with this scammy, slimy, shady, company that uses every trick in the book to throw at you in order for you to get your money. You must give them your bank account details, you must give them your LTD company number - who is this company to demand this?
They think they own the job market.
Tip for consumers:
Nothing - just do not use Indeed

To explain, it is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met.
Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest.
You can submit an appeal through your account. Please note that the review process typically takes 1 to 3 business days and our team will contact you when they have an update, or if they need additional information.
I received an email saying my account was disabled. I asked why, they asked me if I had used my account in Asia. I said no, has my account hacked. It has been almost 2 weeks and they have not answered me concerning if my account was hacked and if my personal information including my credit card was taken. It is very concerning that a company can not communicate what it going on with an account especially if they believe that it has been hacked. The security of clients information should be a high priority for a company.
Hi Tony. Thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. We take situations like this very seriously and have followed up with you via a private message. Please feel free to message us there.
Indeed is one of the best sources to find available jobs. I have found many jobs through them and know other people who have found jobs.
Hi Ron, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! We love hearing success stories that happen on Indeed!
They have a site on the internet and it does stuff. On the internet super highway. Find work. And all of that stuff if you know what i mean
Tip for consumers:
have all your ducks in a row or they will be all like.
"nah, my dude. You may NOT proceed"- stunned and in complete confusion from this abrupt dismissal you'll be like-.
"what dudemanbrodog? why all this negative energy?" and once negative energy starts. you never can seem to cancel it all back out. it just snowballs and next thing you know youre flipping some old-lady the bird bc she didnt use her turn signal.

I used to get great results with free postings and now if I don't pay I get 0 hits. Going back to Zip Recruiter.
We found Indeed both easy to use and intuitive. We also found ourselves able to quickly focus on valid candidates.
Thank you for your feedback!
On indeed I found fake jabs and fake pictures. I would nor recommend looking for a job on indeed. Its a scam
