Don't order produce

I've never had this issue until the last couple of orders. Instacart isn't clear when ordering produce, but as far as I know, ordering 1 ct of bananas means one bunch. I even write in the additional notes and instructions to get once bunch. But they still only bring me one single banana. Same issue with sweet potatoes. Huge waste of money that I can't get back.

Forget a quick delivery

My groceries were supposed to be delivered 48 hours ago. Their excuse is they didn't have staff to shop. Even if they don't have staff in place, they still give you updated delivery times so you can wait around for them to not show up. Avoid them.

Fraud - never use instacart

Do not ever use instacart, especially for grocery delivery! The employees are able to get away with fraud with no consequences, and on top of it, they are taking money away from grocery stores. This happened to me and I have heard similar stories. My groceries were delivered to a wrong address, an apartment to boot, I have a house and multiple cameras. They didn't even bother to show up on my street. The picture they didn't provide until I called customer service and was on the line for 30 minutes was of an apartment porch. I guarantee you it was the apartment of my instacart employee. They are able to steal the groceries for themselves and have no consequences. The grocery stores lose money on the refund and they employees get free groceries. I'm going to report it as theft. On top of it, instacart customer service is horrible. I called king soopers and was told to contact instacart. So I contact instacart and they tell me they can't process my refund because the main king soopers customer service line is closed so I can't even ask for a refund until the next business day. Such a complete joke and waste of two hours. Never ever use this service. Spend your money via Amazon fresh if you need delivery.

I had been complaining about Instacart's poor service, mostly the fact that more than 1/2 of the deliveries did not show up on time, as well as some very questionable substitutions, when I discovered that my account had been locked so that any complaint would have to go through a special review process. When I asked what I had done wrong, they would not answer. Not one word, not one email, not one phone call. They just referred me to a generic set of customer guidelines, which were completely useless. They have obviously chosen a high volume / low service model. Buyer beware. It is obvious why Instacart is 53rd on this site with a 1.27 rating. They choose profits over customer satisfaction.

SCAM ALERT!
November 13, 2022

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.

MY ORDER WAS OVERCHARGED BY 90 dollars, the order was never delivered and the driver has yet to respond. I was hung up on by 3 different customer service reps, they were rude as can be, not helpful at all….never received any type of confirmation email. The food was never returned to Kroger so I have no idea where it is. My neighbor said the driver knocked on his door, he told her wrong address and the driver left with the food. We have been sick with a horrible flu and needed groceries so we tried this company. Now I am out the money and no food!

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY, SCAM SCAM SCAM! I have contact consumer Affairs, BBB, and my credit card company has been sent an Fraud alert. Seems these types of companies just want to keep taking advantage of people

It's one thing to go into the instacart process knowing that you will be paying a service fee and delivery charge unless you subscribe. Today, I accidentally got the receipt for my groceries. I don't know if they negotiate better pricing but they are marking up the groceries in addition to the fees. The actual receipt from the store was $194.38 and their base charge to me before fees and tips was $208.34 --- a mark up o f9%. Since tips and fees are based on this "total", they are making even more money. I'm not opposed for them making money in the fees department but I am opposed for them marking up the groceries without telling me or hiding it in some fine print. Shame on Instacart.

We run an assisted living facility and switched to using instacart so our people could better focus on the care. We put in an order today, and they canceled it, won't reinstate the account, or put the order through. Well there are a few dozen seniors who can't get their products now. Thanks, Instacart! Good job! I am positive that this is the best way to protect your consumers and there is no other way to communicate.

I placed an order at 2:30 with Aldi's. Delivery was set for 4:30 allowing me time to get super ready. I am a semi invalid and I live solely on my SS income. We didn't have much food in the house the past week or two as I was waiting for my check to arrive. At 4:30 I am informed there is a delay the food would be delivered at 5:30. Then it was 6:30, then it was 7:30 then I was told it would be delivered the next day. They offered me a $10 discount on my $185.00 order. I canceled the order and we had some PB and Jelly sandwiches on stale bagels. This morning I arrange to have someone do some food shopping for me so first I check my bank balance. I see I was charged the $185. I called CS and spoke to a few people who I could not understand their accents at all. This was not and oriental or latin accent or anything I had ever heard before. It was from Mars. Finally, I was told there was nothing they could do about it I had to wait 7 to 10 days for a refund. I feel bad for anyone that ever has to use this horrendous uncarry POS company!..

Total idiocy

These people act like they want to help all the while hiding their intentions if you use a debit card to pay for your groceries plan on Instacart charging you that once- a- year membership without your knowledge or consent! Total bull totally unreliable service to handle a person's financial information. Never again will I use Instacart at all and would strongly advise anyone who does to be super careful.

Never the correct order

I have never once gotten the correct order, and honestly that's not my biggest issue. By biggest issue and frustration is that instead of getting refunded to the items they did not get me they instead give me extra items (literally 6 Italian seasonings in my last order) just to balance out the payment for the items they didn't give me on my order. I constantly have integrity issues every single time I have ordered from them. I think I'm finally done giving them a chance to redeem themselves. Good idea, but so far TERRIBLE experience.

I spent at least 30 minutes online placing an order at 10:30 in the morning for a 3:00 pick up. Got my confirmation email. Received a text it was running behind. Ok. Two hours after my pick up time still nothing. Contacted the store and they say they don't have my order. Contacted instacart and after being put on hold multiple time they finally find my order and say tbat it was never assigned to a shopper. What? It's 5:00 pm at this point. I had food ordered that I needed for that evening. Horrible customer service!

After receiving an order just now, the shopper didn't apply my store Loyalty Card to the purchase, a savings of around $20. After contacting Customer Service, they tried to make it sound like it was my fault for not telling the shopper about the card, especially since it's uploaded to their site. They wanted to give a ten dollar credit, I told them to shove it as I will never use their horrible shady service again.

If your shopper doesn't think the order pulling is worth their time, they will cancel it at the last minute and YOU will be stuck paying the $15 cancellation fee. When you call customer service, you will be speaking with an offshore agent who reads from a script. You will not get your money back. STAY AWAY FROM INSTACART!

I've shopped Hannaford for 13 yrs & first time for a delivery & did not see any warnings about their contract with Instacart. I am now looking for another market that has ETHICS. And is RESPONSIBLE.
I'm a disabled Senior on a low income & I don't have food or my money. I'm going to the Capitol for an AG complaint form & to the Better Business Bureau.

INSTACART 'So my first order said 'sorry didn't go through' OK, I place another order and 30 mins later find out two are shopping for me. Texted, texted and texted the first one to cx my order. She just kept shopping even after reading i wanted the order canceled. So yep, they both showed up and it got nasty from there. I heard one person asking my property mgr "look what happened - this person must be drunk'. I don't think I will order this service ever again

$250 of food piled unbagged on my porch!

Need I say anymore? Oh and the eggs were at the bottom of the pile. The shopper didn't know where most things were in the store and needed me to tell him. I wonder if they get any training?

The worst experience!

First and last experience!
Never again! An order was placed at 11am. Scheduled delivery for the follow 2 hours. It was rescheduled to 4pm and now rescheduled again to 9:45 pm
Customer service suggested me to cancel and re order tomorrow because a shopper wasn't found to full fill this order ….
Ridiculous! A waste of time!

The Customer service is outsourced there is no USA customer service representatives. I just hung up with a instacart customer service rep in another country whom proceeded to hang up on me then canceled my delivery WITHOUT MY CONSENT which I had been dealing with the driver for 3 hours and it was out forDELIVERY. This instacart representative canceled my order and then blocked my account and I call customer service and I tell them and they tell me they'll give me a $10 credit this is the worst company and the way they do business is unacceptable.
