I was charged $99 out of the blue. Haven't shopped IC for over a year. I received a "Thanks for signing up! Welcome!" email. Either it's fraud and I was hacked -OR- the fraudulent practices are from IC activating an old account. (It was not an automated annual renewal.) Tried repeatedly to get help through "24/7 Customer Service". Worst automated prompt choices ever, and the ones I did use weren't working properly. (Tried 2 browsers to see if it would help-same results.) FINALLY got through to "chat" but only received automated answers so I don't believe I reached a human. Reply received stated refund would come in 8-10 business days or "maybe" 1-2. I want my account Deactivated for security reasons.

"Senior Support?" WHERE?

As a senior with medical issues, I rely on delivery. I placed my first order yesterday; 2 hours later received a message saying "rescheduled for tomorrow." I called, explained the situation. "I need to eat today. Now I can't because you screwed up. And I can't get a refund for 5 days?" Their results "Sorry" Not good enough. I have Parkinson's, on disability and cannot drive. Limited income! Had I known you'd so utterly fail,I'd have ordered elsewhere!. It's the following day now. No money for 6-7 days because you have it. And NO FOOD. You took the money instantly, you can certainly return it instantly—if you chose to. So much for your "Senior Support" hoopla, huh?

My roommate made an expensive order off the Instacart App. Six bottles of a Shiraz wine. They delivered six bottles of a cheaper red blend wine. Sent a picture of both the bottle he ordered and the bottle he received. Even though the cost of the #2 blend was cheaper, after reviewing his emails the Instacart rep. Said they would not exchange or refund. The email also stated his account is now blocked from any refunds. Paid for Shiraz (a favorite). Now he has six bottles of a cheaper red blend. Please Note: Red Schooner Transit #1 is a high rated Shiraz while Transit #2 is a cheaper blend.

7 months pregnant.and I'm just down and trying to let this get to me because people are evil. I believe people work for instacart to literally rob us. And the company knows this but rather just say we will block them from coming 2 you. Not report them. I watched this lady named Dawn D come to my door and deliever 2 items out of 15 things I ordered. She kept the rest in her car. I walked on my porch screaming "hey where's my groceries"?! And she kept walking & got into her car and sped off. Idk who u are Dawn D but karma on you! God seen you. I have been tryna keep calm during this whole pregnancy and this blew me over the edge. So evil! I hope u choke on every piece. Never will order from instacart again. My heart is heavy. Hope I feel way better tmw.

Ordered 13 items from a no frills in Edmonton Alberta and waited 2 hours and 45 mins to receive 3 items cause he didn't have time to shop and took 2 days to get ahold of a supervisor today he called me back saying there's nothing he can do for me not even a sorry never shopping here again

I have been using instacart for a few years, and I've come to realize what a total rip off it is! The total price continues to go up from the original order, even when I have refunds with no replacements. Every item is priced higher than it would be if I were in the store. There are excessive service charges and delivery fees and an extra charge if you have a heavy load of groceries what the...? Didn't the overpriced charges of items, delivery fees, service fees cover the cost of a heavy load? Jeepers!
It seems like the HEB shoppers are motivated to replace items with crappy HEB products. Replacements are usually higher priced than the original request. And lastly, if you didn't completely get an item, it's extremely hard to get a refund back.

I used Instacart a lot at the beginning. If an item was missed, they refunded me. If an item was squashed, like a tomato, they refunded me after a certain number of items, they told me that I was not following the "community guidelines "and that note for the refunds would be given even though the shopper only delivered five bottles of juice from the store instead of six. Each bottle was $13, along with the hidden fees, I ended up paying about 57% more from my order than I should have.

Fidji Simo does not care. For people who are disabled, and having to pay so much more money for the groceries is ridiculous as there's a ones who can't afford the most. I see she has a new health venture where she wants to help people that have syndromes like parts which she has developed now I wish she would take care of the people who are already disabled because she does not give a sh$t about them, only grubs after their money.

Instacart Gift Card

I had a 200 dollar gift card from Instacart. I went to order groceries and use my gift card; all of sudden my account is locked. Instacart never unlocked my account and I never got reimbursed for my gift card. Instacart told me it will be credited to my account when my account is unlocked. This happened in July and my account is still locked. I really think this is illegal, so they took 200 dollars from me. My advice is don't use their gift card ever, because they can lock your account anytime they want.

I have multiple unknown charges on jnstscart. I showed them screen shots of my orders and screen shots of my credit card charges. After several attempts they give different reasons why they can't resolve it and none of then make sense of refer to my case. Just random generic replies that they must send out to everyone with similar issues.overcharges total $20 which I believe is a double charge with Publix.

Don't use Instacart. If you buy items in bulk you won't realize you have missing items until a week or so later and they don't let you ask for a refund at that time. You will always have missing items, use another grocery deliver service.

I was charged $106 when I didn't order anything. They actually tried to charge 2 cards. I've never had this happen on another app where I've saved my cards. But thankfully I had no money on my debit cards.
They're customer service is not trustworthy. The time before I got scammed I thought I had used my EBT card but they charged my debit card. The first representative said I had to wait for order to be delivered to get a refund onto my debit and charge my EBT instead. When I called back after my delivery the woman said she couldn't do it. I've done this at Hannaford with no problem.
Also, like a lot of other ppl say the prices are ridiculous! Items I've ordered in the past I now know are raised in the app. I recently went to Hannaford and items I've ordered in the past in instacart were raised $1-$2 above prices in the store. I tried Walmart+ and had a lot of problems. Can't find a good priced & reliable grocery delivery service.

Wrong charges, no refund

In my order I ordered 2 bottles of sparkling water, they delivered my order with 2 bottles of water but charged for 29 bottles its additional $70. I called them about this mistake, no credit no refund. They are playing games in order not to give a refund for their own mistakes. Customer service just terrible, to much lie and excuses from agents. Be careful, and check you credit card for such mistakes. Spent 2 hours for this mistake, agent texted that refund will be, but in few days no credit was given so I texted customer service, and agent told that previous agent just lied about credit. I and just regret that i use this company. Will definitely cancel membership. Will not recommend!

Ordered on Instacart, gave directions as to leave stuff as I would retrieve. Message comes that only 1 cat food coming which is confusing as I did not order cat food. Then of course they knocked on door alerting my service dog who barks and wants to see what is going on. Delivery person still at door and does not leave when instructed. As she already has a tip that I did not agree to, I asked her again as I have a big dog to leave, she hangs around, dog almost escapes which would cause us both lots of issues. It is a service dog who is trained to protect, get the picture? And delivery person is a stranger at my door, who refuses to leave. I find Instacart very expensive as service fees, tips I did not agree to and delivery service below par leave me not wanting to use this service again..

This is a terrible and expensive service, first of all they charged me 50 dollars for a service fee, plus a delivery fee and automatically gave my driver a 33.85 tip! They locked me out of the app so I couldn't even see what all I was charged, my grocery delivery wound up being $736.00 dollars!
When I wanted to go back and lower the tip, I was told I only had a two hour window to do that, but I was locked out of the app and couldn't do that!
I will never use this again and the shopper didn't even get everything, she forgot many things.

I have been trying to work for instacart for 3 months. Every other week they take me off and deactivate my amount. I get no reason why after sending 19 emails and speaking with there rude staff. Trust and Safety suck. They say 3-5 days response, I'm still waiting after 3 weeks plus just to find out what happened to my account. You can never make money. This is the worse shopping app ever. They have no time frames and not if they did they wouldn't follow them. Sad really this big company can't even get the $#*! together. Stay clear of them all together.

I pay monthly membership fees in addition to service fees, delivery fees sometimes and shopper tips. I had several failed deliveries AND i always contact the customer service who either redeliver or place refunds and by the way if your items are delivered to the wrong place the do not refund the tip that you paid the shopper so when they redeliver you'll pay the other shopper another tip since it'll be rude not to pay the tip for someone else for redelivery. Yesterday I needed a medicine badly and I had a shopper who kept asking with attitude about details mentioned in the info about the address already in my account if she ever took a look and then she said she delivered my item although she did not and she did not even take a pic of the delivered item as a proof. When i contacted the customer service i explained what happened and i said i do not want redelivery because it was almost 10 pm at night. Today i receive an email from instacart saying that i have several failed deliveries and that they're looking into it and may restrict me from further receiving refunds, redeliveries or credit which is actually my money that I paid them and had not had my items delivered. So unprofessional and disappointing.

Service from Instacart Non Disclosure on Service Fees. There is nowhere that if you ask for an item and/or replacement/refund that Shoppers must drive (In my case) to/from Vacaville instead of the Wallmart, 6 minutes away from me incurring an extra mileage fee (HIDDEN) and only visible as a reg. Service Fee and killing any saving I might had had by shopping carefully to save expenses. This seems evasive, as to extra fees, though it is called when I call, "We will get as many products as we can from the closest store available". Vacaville, Ca is 49 min. Away and however many miles from Antelope, Ca. C distance fees that only shows hidden within the receipt only in the form of a HIGHER service fee negating me saving any $$ by shopping close by sales, etc.

Scammed

Instacart is the biggest scam and rip off there is. They charged me $29 for 4 6 pks of coke when they were on sale for $2.79 each. My whole total was $108 (have actual receipt from store) and they charged me $137 with a $50 discount then are refusing to give me back what I was overcharged. This business is absolutely ridiculous.

In my pursuit of a resolution, I repeatedly engaged with their Customer Service, the complaints department, and even escalated my concerns to the CEO on three separate occasions. Despite my efforts, I was disheartened by their refusal to initiate a refund for products exceeding $60 in value. This denial hinged on their insistence for photographic evidence of the compromised items. Unfortunately, this demand became unattainable as I had already discarded the products following a conversation with a Customer Service Representative. During that interaction, I was guided to submit an email and assured of a reimbursement – a promise that, regrettably, remains unfulfilled, leaving me in a state of limbo for several months.

Curiously, their explanation for this prolonged inaction references my history of lodging multiple complaints, each stemming from legitimate issues such as receiving spoiled items or incorrect products. This response underscores an apparent disregard for the quality of their service.

Given the frustration incurred by this ordeal and the lackluster level of customer service demonstrated, I find myself with no intention of considering future orders from this company.
