Instacart offers a convenient grocery delivery service, allowing me to shop from my favorite stores without leaving home. Whether I need fresh produce, pantry staples, or specialty items, Instacart delivers everything I need with reliable service and fast delivery. I appreciate the flexibility of scheduling delivery windows and the option to communicate with my shopper in real-time. Instacart has become a lifesaver, especially during busy weeks
I had to wait on hold for 35 minutes before the problem with my order was addressed. The shopper delivered someone else's order. I'm not upset about that - nobody is perfect. What is outrageous to me is the time I had to spend on-hold waiting for a person in the "delivery mistakes" deptartment to get on the line. The person who answered my call was not allowed to take care of the problem, whether rescheduled delivery or refund, so I had to be punished with a long wait on the phone. When the wrong order delivered person finally got on the line, they rescheduled my delivery for tomorrow and promised some discounts or free delivery or something else because I had a hard time understanding what she was saying. For all the money I spend in a year with Instacart, I would expect far better customer service than this!
Ordered items before Good Friday. Was scheduled 1-3 that sat. Completed order with shopper. Keep getting 4 delayed order tines. After 745 no delivery contact customer service they said have shortage of shoppers and delivery. But was talking to shopper completed order. What happen to her? Paced on hold disconnected then called back then got email that order rescheduled for Monday day after Easter. Instacart sent out email on Thursday don't forget to order before Easter due to stores not open. The Instacart service said sorry will schedule it for Easter 10-12. How stores are not open. Of course another email order was scheduled for mom by 12 am? How stores r not open? And had Herve to give me $ 5 credit havre continuous git emails on Easter tell us your issue screwed up my Easter
Tip for consumers:
Go out do own shopping, use pick up service

Groceries for Easter
Ordered on Friday. Given a delivery date Sunday 4-5. They messaged every hour that order would be delayed by one hour up until 10:30 when they said choose another delivery date. Thursday is the earliest. This is unacceptable as I am over 70 and out of food. Will have to take my chances by going to the grocery store.
Instacart is the biggest scam and rip off there is. They charged me $29 for 4 6 pks of coke when they were on sale for $2.79 each. My whole total was $108 (have actual receipt from store) and they charged me $137 with a $50 discount then are refusing to give me back what I was overcharged. This business is absolutely ridiculous.
Many times shoppers make mistakes. After being a customer for two years, I requested a refund for rotten lemons yesterday. I got a response that I wont be refunded and I will never get refunded again.
They also removed the option to have it refunded to the original payment method. The rep told me it was a glitch. This problem went on for a month after many emails. Finally, they have you take a picture now. Um, how do you take a photo of a missing item or if produce is soft. That ends my business with them. I'm sure there were many hidden costs along the way so I'll save money too.
My experience has been hit or miss with Instacart and I say this as far as their ability to select produce / fresh items / meat / poultry / etc. Sometimes they'll grab you the pick of the litter, other times you'll end up with a sad bruised peach. Instacart is usually good about refunding when this happens, and truly the company has been a lifesaver during this whole pandemic. The shoppers are on the front line literally putting their lives on the line to get us our food, so they deserve more than their usual pay during this time.
I ordered 27 items to be delivered last Tuesday. My first delivery time was 6 - 8 on Friday night. They did not start shopping until 7 p.m. and then they were trying to do 4 orders at once. Of my 27 items 12 were substituted. Several more were not available. What I was really upset about was root beer and dr pepper were buy one get one - They could have held that for me on Tuesday but instead I did not get it al all. It took the girl 1 1/2 hours to shop for my 27 items and then the delivery was late after 8 p.m. I would NEVER order again on Publix Instacart Delivery again. I paid for the poor service. Maybe the worst - The l lb grapes (no way) were opened and all the grapes were off the stem. Afraid to eat the few that were there. No rain checks were offered on the soda.
Use google shopping express instead!
Instacart, without my permission created multiple accounts using google sign in. Then, they had the nerve to accuse me of creating multiple accounts against their policy. Honest mistake, right? Should be easily clarified. NOPE! Instead, they charged my bank account $35 dollars over the course of two days! When I asked for a refund, the "lovely" manager decided to open an investigation against me and refused to return my money. I have never been so insulted in my life before.
Instacart often has products listed at specific locations, stating they are in stock.
Within 30 mins an Instacart contractor checks the store. Finds that it is in fact, NOT in stock.
I still get charged fees anyway.
It should be advertised as a paid service to check if things are in stock. They give the illusion of products being in stock (stale or bad data on their web service), only to take your money anyway when they are not in stock.
After such a disappointing experience, I'd much rather just call the store to check inventory and pick it up myself.
Will never use Instacart again. Do not recommend Instacart. Highly recommend you stay away.
Tip for consumers:
In my opinion, Instacart is a waste of time and money.

If I could give 0 stars it would still be too many. Absolute worst customer service and complete lack of security on their platform. My credit card company informed me of suspicious activity linked to my IC account, however when I reached out to IC they claimed they did not have visibility to any questionable activity. After numerous attempts to reach the fraud team I'm still left wondering how my account was compromised and whether or not the platform itself is a secure one to use. Going forward, I will be listening to the advice of so many others and trying another company.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use this company.

None... My account was hacked internally by IC.
If you use this service, be sure and check your bank balance. They put through the entire amount of my order twice - almost $150. The really frustrating part is that after 3 phone calls and 2 emails, they keep saying a supervisor will call me back because they can't do anything about it and this is the 4th day and no one has called me back. At first I thought the double billing was a mistake. I am beginning to think it is a scam.
I loved the service at first but as you use it more the prices go up. There is more fees each time. Also, I made an order based off my store prices but instacart makes their own. My chicken was on sale for 7.64 and they charged me 19.84. They did not care to reimburse me or admit that was wrong. I spent 56 dollars extra in groceries, had a delivery charge of 9.99, tip, and a service fee of 10.00 I suggest not using this service and using a pick up at another location or another delivery service. Walmart has been the best for us. It is free, the time slots are super open, and they always have what I need and best part... I can get the sale price! No more instacart here!
Ok ~ gonna whine here for a minute ~ I cannot drive and have Instacart to delivery my groceries. I'm so very sad. There has been 2 that deliver my order correctly and the rest have not. *sigh* I try and not purchase too much stuff in an order so it won't be screwed up. Sadly this doesn't work either. I use Kroger. I've tried calling and have gone through every channel I can think of. I'm not sure of what to try next ~ I'm at a loss. Kroger is the only grocery store in my area. Thank you all for reading this ~ perhaps it'll give you some insight on what to choose.
Needed drinks fast for a client. I called the store and they confirmed they had what I needed in stock, and I could order from instacart. So I ordered 6 packs of drinks, for delivery "within 2 hours" since I needed them ASAP. 4.5 hours later I received 1 pack which was banged up, filthy, and covered in mold. WTF. I also got charged $0.05 for a plastic bag which is expected in this area, but the bag these drinks came in was obviously used and dirty not new. I contacted their customer care team and they delivered me the other 5 packs the next day at no charge, but these were all too late to service the client. Next time I will just send my own employee. No idea how instacart is in business.
Tip for consumers:
just go to the store yourself

None. I threw out the first pack of drinks and the other 5 packs arrived too late. They're sitting here on a shelf.
Absolute Incompetence- & they want 20 bucks an hour.
It is amazing how the gig workers even manage to live life. If they lived the way they pick/delivered food then Darwin would have won.
On numerous occasions my food is incorrect; cold or frozen goods on the shelf instead of cooler or freezer. I get bad produce or damaged goods.
Stay far away from this company and its absolute incompetent workers.
Don't go through Instacart! They blamed Costco for raising their price of meat. Bought ribeye and cost me $20 more than had I gone on to buy. They service charge on top plus add more for tip which driver deserves. Pathetic
I am very disappointed with how dishonest this $2 billion company is. When I research more it turns out this company treats its worker badly and often decrease the wage of its front low worker who actually does most of the labor. I have firsthand experience on how bad the customer service is. I have a home in Boston Area. The boss Bear booked the room for his worker Daniel via Airbnb. After the rental period expired, Bear stopped communication. I later found out he had terminated his relationship with Daniel. He never communicated anything.
In January 2017, Daniel kept begging me to let him stay and he will get a co-worker to come and rent out more space. He ended up leaving in the middle of the night after 21 days. He owns me one month rent worth $1150.
InstaCart have not taken any responsibility. Do NOT deal with this company, it is unreliable and untruthful.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use it.
Lovely idea until I got texted to death with constant updates. I kinda wanted to let someone else do the shopping and take a nap. Nope should have paid attention. My written instructions were not followed. I got over ripe avocados, small eggs, potatoes that were not looked at for cuts and junk. Just junk shopping. I took all the stuff back and luckily the driver was new and didn't know to keep the receipt. So the real tacky thing done was all the substitutes were for cheaper stuff. They did not intend to refund me until I stomped around a bit. And that free 1st delivery... Doesn't happen. And I find out these drivers are paid very little. They expect big tips to make it. So I'll just keep doing my own shopping. And all the substitutes for cheaper not refunded products where there at Whole Foods when I went back.
Both times I used them was torture. First time my delivery was 2 hrs late and I literally had too sit on the. Phone with the shopper as she shopped because none of what I picked was actually in store. This time they didnt even bother to deliver to me. Sent me an email 15 min before order was due just saying it wasnt coming. Didn't even get a phone call!
Beware of instacart's deceptive marketing tactics. They lure you in with a free first delivery. After placing my order, I saw that they charged $11.99 for delivery. When I called their customer service, after a long hold, the "happiness" team member finally agreed to remove the charge, like he was doing me a favor. Also, they would not honor a $10 coupon for my first time order, saying there were restrictions that were not listed in any of their marketing emails, or during checkout. Why would the shopping cart allow me to use the coupon code and not honor it after I place my order, and after my card has already been charged? Shady practices. Stay away from instacart, or be prepared for a losing fight with their "happiness" team.
A shopper messaged me and said that they was having issues with the app! Shortly after they charged my card way more than was said and my food never arrived. I am seeking a legal team because they don't want to refund my money like they said they will do. Be aware of this shopper if you choose to use this service. I know I will not ever again
Shopper left the original store receipt in box. Instacart increased price of everything by 24%! Did you know they increase prices like this?! No! Absolutely no transparency on userous charges. 24% over charge is robbery! They charged me $172.76 for Costco groceries that actually sold for $139.10. No where in Instacart's info do they inform the consumer about this intentional overpricing.
Tip for consumers:
Instacart’s lack of transparency about how much they increase prices to the consumer.

All of them. It was a Costco delivery order for groceries.
Denied my legal passport for no other reason than it being from a different country. Said they will just "hang up" on me when they didn't like the tone (?) I called to report that issue with. Refused to provide any legal basis for denying my documents. Asked me if there's someone at home with a valid ID (again my documents were all 100% valid, just not American and on their website it says they accept passports). Laughed when I said that I'll leave a review about that experience. I seriously don't know what kind of people work in this service but it's obvious they don't care about their reputation and they feel like it's okay to treat people like less then human based on the place they come from. Definitely won't ever order from them again.
At a time like this when a senior is restricted because of pandemic it would be such a great service... but when they inflate the cost it becomes extravagant for a senior on low SS. My $35 order adds up to $48. Don't mind tip and delivery. Then they add service fee and then finally they charged $60 with a little note I had to search for. Said I was charged $60 in error and it will be adjusted within 4 or 5 days... lousy way to do business... losing trust in Instacart... at a time like this... seniors like me are grateful for service but taking advantage is not good... I don't know if they car
We tried using instacart start this year (2018) and thought it reasonable for the convenience. The convenience is now gone. Any time saved has more than been eaten up by dealing with the abysmal system. There is no way to communicate with the shoppers though this is trumpeted as a feature of the service. We we getting the wrong items. The last order the driver was routed to a park instead of our house. Insane. They offer credits that are never delivered. STAY AWAY!
I've been using Instacart for over 3 years. But ever since the pandemic demand for their services has sky rocketed. Which seams to mean they are not caring about. Customer service anymore. Do not bother reaching out to them for help. If you get a response it's useless and comes from someone who has no idea how to answer the question. They just automatically blame the shopper. It's not the shoppers fault the web site has gotten to be nearly useless. It's has everything to do with senior management lining their pockets and not putting anything back into the company.
