Very comprehensive materials, lots of support and great hints. Some of it is common sense and common knowledge, but it's good to have the reminders all in one place for ready access. It only helps if you do your part and do the research and your homework, though!

Suggestions on how to handle the obvious fact that I am over 40 were very useful. I start very soon. What's the best is that after years of driving into Des Moines, IA, is that the job is right in town less than 2 miles from where I live.

Another hurdle that I had to get over was the job description required you to be able to lift 25-50 pounds. I'm a petite female who can easily lift 30 pounds. However, I applied anyway and when the screener asked if I could do 50 pounds, I was honest and told her what I could lift. So, I guess that proves that if you don't fit every qualification, you should apply anyway.

I recently relocated to another State and have not interviewed in over 30+ years. I think I am pretty good at interviewing, but finding myself unexpectedly out of work I needed any edge I could get. The tips here are great for people just starting out, however I found a lot of helpful tools as well - for older workers and for following up. After working at the same job for over 12 years, the thought of having to look for employment was very daunting. Excellent program. It gives you the essentials to do great in any interview. You get the base of what to respond and its tailored to your own experiences. Making your own examples after that is very easy.

I found this information very helpful in responding to potential employers and interviews. Their templates for Thank you notes and words to use mirroring the job req are great as are the preparation hints.

Last week I was offered my 3rd position since joining in 2015. I am a contractor and am forced to change jobs frequently. I believe the Self Assessment and interviewing techniques have played a major role in obtaining these offers. I print it out and take it on every Interview I go on. It works almost every time.
