Abby was really pleasant and helpful, a good resource to Johnny Was. Nice store in Palm Springs. I will most defenitve recommend the store.
I received an order confirmation for my purchase on 9/24/24. I STILL have NOT received my purchase. Trying to get a rep on the phone is difficult. This is not the first or 4th time that my purchases have either been delivered SO late or cancelled. Additionally, their policies don't allow you to exchange sale items, and Johnny Was's "Final Sale" policy is exceptionally customer unfriendly.
I have been ordering from the Johnny Was website for over a year. I absolutely love their clothes. I have had to return I think three items due to me not reading fully the measurements on each piece. I returned them as instructed and received a credit within a week of my return. I have no idea what all these negative comments are about. Now, I only order from their website so I can't give an opinion on a third-party distributor. I gave everyone in my family, the females, a Johnny Was item for this past Xmas and everyone loved it. I will continue to buy this brand. I just wanted to throw out my two cents and give a positive review because this is the way I feel. I'm sorry others are having issues.
Tip for consumers:
I personally love the brand!!! No issues at all. Highly recommend.

Many, many items of clothing, shoes and jewelry.
I have ordered a number of tops from the Johnny Was website and the items were shipped and received promptly. I love everything I've purchased, they are excellent quality and I appreciate that they do not require "fussy" care. Although not everything on the site is machine wash and dry, the majority of tops are. Yes, it's expensive, but the quality is so far above what you can find almost anyone else.

Tops, especially the embroidered relaxed tees.
I used to love their designs. They are awful since the company was sold. The embroidery designs are very juvenile. Ugly material. The prices are so much higher and sizes are huge. What happened to the sophistication? I am done with this brand. So sorry the old owners had much better taste
Tip for consumers:
Fire your designers. Ugly stuff. What happened???
Used to love this brand.

I have been trying to return two items to Johnny Was since May 18,2020. When I try to obtain a return label on the website it says "We don't seem to recognize that order number or zip code." I've called and left messages (the recording says my call will be returned within 24 hours). I sent emails and eventually received a ticket number and response to one of my emails on May 27: "All support requests are prioritized in the order they are received." Is there anyone running this company? Any help would be appreciated.
I bought a 5 pack of their masks. The fabric was nice but the elastic work was horrible. Where the elastic was sewn together for the ear holders, there were big knots. So on my face when wearing the masks, you can see big hunks of elastic sewn together. It looks really bad and l am too embarrassed to wear the masks. They won't answer my emails and they disabled their Comments. It is a horrible company.
This review refers to Johnny Was online only. JW behaves like a company that's heading for bankruptcy. It's online sales are disastrously managed. Examples:
• Sent a top with a hole in the sleeve that also reeked of perfume. Obviously it wasn't new merchandise
• Almost never sent information about when the order ships or when it's likely to arrive
• Since the pandemic started, JW seems to have disconnected its inventory from its online ordering system. I placed an order for 3 items. I received one quickly. After about 10 days, an email came saying the second item wasn't in stock. After 3 weeks, an email announced that the third item was also not in stock.
• Giving JW one last try, I ordered two more items. Once again, after 2 weeks, an email said that neither item was in stock.
So JW, one more customer is no longer doing business with you. This hopelessly bad level of service has ruined my trust in you as viable company.
I bought a dress from them that I love.
Based on the measurements posted on their site I bought an other one. It turned out it was much shorter then described and I needed to return it.
I called customer service and asked them to waive the return shipping fee as their website description was inaccurate.
They refused. They also refused a request to speak to a supervisor. They send me to their damages department -and they refused as well.
Very unprofessional, unkind and customer service in the name only.

I have MANY Johnny Was tops and my size varies from Extra Small to Large. I recently bought a Medium because it was recommended on the site to.size down. When it came, it was too small. JW would.not send a return label.because it was marked down in a sale. I have never experienced this rigidity and refusal to give store credit. I am done with this brand!
The clothing is beautiful. However, I received a damaged item. Now, a month later and 4 or 5 phone calls, with n0 return call, I am sitting with a damaged item. I am out a little over a hundred dollars and needing to file complaint with credit card company. Their customer service hours are very limited, and worse they do not answer the phone. You get, leave a message, and no one calls back. I will never buy direct from Johnny was again, at any price, not to mention at a premium price.
Tip for consumers:
Do not buy. Customer Service is non-existant.

Don't place an order... you wont get it! In the last few months i have placed 4 orders, 3 items were cancelled which were later on sale again in their website, no one is available to help on line or by phone, even though they say "contact us", and i am still waiting on three orders. Apologies due to Coronavirus don't work when other orders at different (Other) companies are filled. Sorry - we are all in this together. If you cannot deliver stay out of the game. Its not fair to jerk your paying customers around. I do not live in the states and gave you guys a
Month so I could get my things brought to me. FAIL... HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Don't order from them if you expect customer service. On my order, the 20% discount was not deducted from the price. Three weeks later after several emails and call attempts, crickets from customer service.

I made an online purchase and immediately realized I ordered the wrong item. JW does not let you make any changes once an order is placed. I ordered the correct item and immediately sent back the wrong item once it was received. Got an email saying they received the return and then... nothing. No response to emails, phone calls. Finally talked to a real person and was promised she'd look into it and call me back. No call back. Their customer service is non-existent. Will NEVER order from them again and will discourage others from doing business with them.
The masks are not returnable if they are tried on and how are you supposed to know how they fit if you don't try them on? The elastic is too short and stiff and your whole face would be distorted and look prematurely wrinkled if you wear them. And then you will have an outline of the mask on your face for a long time!
Please beware the even if you didn't try on the masks, you will still have to pay $10 to return the $25 masks.
I am a regular customer without any problems up until now. Recently I am desperately trying to order 3 items online. But the system says "There is a problem with your order, try again"! What does this mean.? I wrote to "Customer Service", but still I couldn't get a proper answer and help. I wonder what has happened to this company.?
I finally received the order I'd placed 2 months ago even though it literally was shipped from a store 7 miles away from my house. No one and I mean no one returns your call or your emails. I returned couple of items at the Century City location thinking I would be credited within a few days 20 days later no credit or acknowledgement of any credit due. Their story is that due to Covid they are behind and can't offer customer service but can send ten emails a day encouraging you to buy more stuff. I say if you can't provide proper customer service then maybe you shouldn't offer any merchandise.
Placed an order on June 18, got an email stating my item shipped on 6/21. It's 6/29 and I still don't have an updated tracking. Have sent several emails and made several phone calls. They charged my card on 6/18. I finally got to a "supervisor" and he told me there were Covid issues, riot issues, etc. and told me their building burned down. I apologized and said he should have told me that from the beginning. Then he said no, that didn't happen. Also said he didn't work for Johnny Was that they were just an answering service. He told me someone would eventually answer my email, but to given it several business days. Really wish I had read the reviews before I spent my money with them.
I didn't get the selection of masks that I ordered. Nothing was stated that these would be substituted. Also, nothing in the description says they are not eligible for return. The quality is not great, the fabric is thin. I have since cancelled my catalogs and will not order from Johnny Was in the future. Their clothing is made in China with for a very high price.
This billion dollar company of luxury clothes has just been exposed for ripping off the artist Kitty McCall (this happens a month after Black History Month and on International Women's Day!) and her designs. They have introduced their spring collection of clothing that features HER copywritten artwork, which they have not paid for or licensed! She cannot get the company to respond and likely doesn't have the resources or deep pockets for lawyers to protect her designs. SHAME on them for this!
I adore beautiful fabrics and flowy styles. I own 4 blouses - purchased from Neimans and the website - and a set of cotton masks. The blouses are all beautiful and well-made. Finishing embroidery is lovely. The fabrics make me smile... visually and tactfully. The masks look so nice... that gorgeous fabric again. But, I will lengthen the elastic - no biggie - and note that there is no nose wire. My online order was prompt and correct. I'll continue to purchase Johnny Was, and hope that others have more successful orders and enjoy the products as I do.
After returning a purchase using a return label I am still waiting for a refund 2 weeks after tracking shows they have received it
Useless customer service via phone or email
Will never purchase again
I placed an order for multiple items. The quality was and appearance was very good and attractive. But I needed to return the boots as they didn't fit. I was informed that the boots were non-returnable. That information was not available when viewing the item. And it's difficult. To find a good fit with shoes/boots. I never considered that they would be non-returnable. Upon reading the small print in the return area it does indicate that items that are 50% of the original cost are nonrefundable. Just surprised and disappointed that an item like bootswould be nonrefundable. It is my fault for not reading all the fine print. Will not order from them again.
Tip for consumers:
I wish they had been more upfront, or perhaps more clear that the item was nonrefundable.

Since the boots are nonrefundable, I am returning the canisters. So I am forced to keep the boots.
Ordered a dress on line. Website indicated the dress was available. Received a confirmation email and throughout the week have received emails advertising the dress (in my size). Today I received an email saying "sorry the dress is not available". Supposedly stores were checked and my size was sold out. So why did it take five days to determine the order status? Why is the dress continued to be advertised? If I can't trust the website, can I trust the quality of the clothes?
When I took an item that I ordered online back to the store, they told me I had to have a printed return label to bring it into the store. Luckily for me there was a sales clerk there that was walking me through it on my phone… After another store clerk had told me that they wouldn't help me at the store. Which I thought was tacky… I will be doing no buying at Johnny Was. I never really liked the garments anyway because they're mostly slinky cheap feeling polyester. Johnny Was is probably going to be a "Was" before long.
Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service. Called and they would not change the size I ordered after THEY emailed me and said my ordered would be delayed. They claim they are too short handed to change my order. They were clearly not to short handed to process my payment. BEWARE!
Placed a $555.00 order on their website. Never received a email Confirmation even though I had an Order Number from the original order place. I have emailed, called, left Voice mail messages, filed a complaint on their website... I NEVER received one (1) reply from them. This is the WORST customer Service I have ever encountered. They do NOT allow reviews to be written on their website... I understand why, They know their customer service does NOT Exist... They do not care about the customer... Stay away from this company.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from this company...they will make your shopping experience and follow up miserable.
