I have been a loyal customer for a number of years but my last few on line orders have been handle poorly. In a couple cases the suits were not complete (buttons not attached as sleeve seams not finished). In the last two I paid for 2 business day shipping and watched them take over a week for shipping day notification (not order but the day the told me they shipped) to get here. I contacted them via their site and got no response. Asked for refund of shipping but still no word. It is a shame that the service has deteriorated so much. Used to think they were a 4-5 star company.
It is a bit difficult to truly distinguish differences between suit style, color and cut on the site. Some ability to select products and compare them would be good. Also they tend to have no correlation between your purchase trends on the site and the mailings you receive. It would be good if they could leverage some of that to make the discounts / special offers more targeted.
The pros are that they have terrific customer service and fulfillment so I would recommend using this site to purchase.
Went to get a custom suit for my wedding day and the suit arrived and nothing fit. The quality was very poor as well with huge stitching. It was made in India and was a stock suit and pants with the liner I picked out and a cheaply printed "custom" tag. NOTHING fit. I don't even know why she measured in the store as it was not custom made. I paid $500 for a $150 suit that needed $100 of tailoring. What a scam. To top it off, they never called when it was ready and I have only days to spare before my wedding to see if the tailoring worked. Im concerned I will need to wear an old suit to my wedding. Never ever buy their custom suits.
Bought Jos A Bank Traveler jeans. Fit better than most. BUT... the rear pockets are 6 in deep. Other brands are 7 in. WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? Because your wallet will literally leap out of your pocket on any opportunity. Lost the wallet leaving a Marriott in Charlotte. Fortunately, an honest housekeeper turned it in. Required a 170 mile detour to retrieve it. Then the next day, lost it again at an Onroute in Ontario. Realized it almost immediately. An honest Canadian tracked me down. All this panic (ever lost your wallet in a foreign country?) for an inch of fabric?! C'mon! Don't buy Jos A Bank products. Jeans are now in a dumpster.
I was served by Arron and Tafari today at the North Point location, and to say they were above and beyond is an understatement.
While Arron ensured that the suit I had purchased was excellently tailored, and it was, Tafari determined that I could receive a full exchange of three jackets that by many turns of fate had continued being sent from the warehouse in the wrong size. Arron made certain that two of them were replaced by exact matches, and he offered choices for the one that could not be matched in my size. What I ended up with was an even better looking piece than the original.
I've shopped at Jos.A. Bank and Men's Warehouse for many years and cannot remember ever having less than wonderful service, but to say that today the service and courtesy went beyond would be not be enough.
It's this type of experience and the quality of merchandise that keep me a loyal customer. Thank you!
Sad to say I had a completely unpleasant time buying a suit from Joseph A. Bank online. One mismarked (but beautiful) blue suit later, I started to exchange it for a hopefully correct fit, after 40 minutes on hold, listening to their announcement about waiting for their "World-Class Customer Service!" In what world?!). Then, I noticed I was charged $7.00 for the mailing label! I decided to just return it. Been on hold a second time for 40+ minutes. Never again will I buy from Joseph A. Bank. They have no concern for their customers and don't deserve to be in business. CAVEAT EMPTOR!
It took over 1/2 to figure out how to order. I asked an associate through chat and he quoted me incorrect information -- with attitude no less. Then, didn't apologize when I proved he was incorrect about what they carry. Hmmmm... A good re-design and A. I. interface is in order, and the online sales staff are confusing and disjointed.
It has been almost two months since we cancelled a May wedding due to Coronavirus. We have tried to contact Joseph A Banks for more than two months in person and by phone for a refund ($250) for a pre-paid suit rental, however they will not open their stores or answer customer service phones or online chat. Do not rent from this company. I am fearful they are going to file for bankruptcy and all customers will never receive their refunds for Coronavirus cancelled rentals. This is a horrible way to treat customers who currently could use their refunds. STAY AWAY!
Do not shop here if you are not a pure bread white male or if you are over 5'7 and 160 lbs because you will be treated like trash. After paying $700 for a suit I was singled out and disrespected form across the store because they were too busy to help someone like me based on how I look. I returned to suit and will not be doing business there again.
Tried multiple times to place order online and was unsuccessful... system errors on their end. I was told would have to wait 8 days to try again, and no other way to take my order. I guess they don't need or want the business. I will never try again!
Answer: An agent answered after 4 minutes, but the experience was unsatisfactory.
Answer: Guess what. They saved a buck and squeued you. Banks loves your money, not you.
