I bought 2 pairs of shoes from them yesterday and today, they cancelled my order without explanation. So I called customer service and was told that they don't know their inventory and sold me shoes that were already out of stock.
I used to be a big fan of JOS A Bank, but their online order process sucks.
I placed an order in June, apparently they had few of the items out of stocks, they sent me couple of emails ( until August), and kept updating me ever week or so that the orders will be mailed in a future date.
When I called, they check the order, their realized the problem wasn't that items are out of stock but actually they had an issue in processing my card ( it has the correct information) but they not sure why the process didn't go through, they tried once more and it worked. They didn't even apologized for the problem and the fact that nobody contact me. Most of my orders didn't arrive until September. Not happy with their shipping or lousy customer support performance.
They accepted a return of an expensive cashmere sweater that I had purchase over a year ago!
It had developed a few small holes in the fabric. I was given a replacement.
Very happy that they stood by their merchandise.
Recently purchased two suits from Jos A. Banks at a great discount price. The suits were tailed fitted and of good quality. They will of course look good on me. I will be looking to purchase a few more in the coming months. Keep those sales coming Jos A, Banks!
Purchased a pair of shoes on sale at josbank.com. They charged my credit card then two days later, I received a cancellation notice with no explanation. Really? When I contacted them, they claimed that they ran out of inventory since my order. They would not work with me to provide a comparable replacement. They admitted it was their inventory error, but couldn't care less the impact on the customer. Why shop with a brand that treats people this way? I know I won't be shopping with them again. Buyer beware.
I have ordered a shoes for my husband on line, I registered and all on their website on Sept 14. It's now Oct. 18 and no shoes. I tried getting on the site but keep telling me that it's wrong password, so I did tried the forget password which says they will email me how to get my password. No email!
So I called for them to help me find out about my order, and they said it has been cancelled because the shoes was not available. I told them that how come I wasn't notified? So, they said because of the trouble they would offer me a coupon. For $25 but you need to buy worth $100!
Does that sound like, you put an order and no they don't have it and no notification, Find out why and right away they would give you that coupon to spend $100 of their product?
WOW!
Jos A Bank notified me that my order would arrive on Sept., 1. It is now the end of the day on the fifth. Jos. A now says that my shipment will arrive on the eighth. I ordered shirts for a trip that I am leaving on tomorrow, September 6. They kept changing the delivery date and lost me as a customer. I no longer want nor need the shirts.
Update from the below review:
They have spent probably 6 hours on the phone with me today straightening this out. The computer glitch is what it is. They searched to find a suit comparable as close to me as they could, since the time for shipping is now past. The drive to get the suit is 2 hours away. They are giving us a gift card for the difference in price from what we originally purchased and what the other suit will cost. While we were upset and let them know it, they were calm, patient, helpful, and very gracious. What started off as a horrible impression of this company has changed to be truly the best customer service experience I have ever had.
**Please see update above.** If I could give them -20 stars, I would. I spent 2 hours on the phone with them carefully putting together a suit, shirt and tie for my husband (father of the groom). Days later, after not having received the tracking number, I called them to find out the status. The status is this: The order was canceled - didn't you receive an email? NO, I did not. The order was canceled because the billing address for our CREDT CARD was a PO box. Since when is that an issue? All of our credit cards go to the PO box, and not once has that been a problem. So the alterations are set for 2 days from today; the wedding is in just over a week, and we don't have a suit. DO NOT BUY! I can't believe how much time I wasted with them. We live in a rural area so just running to the local mall to buy a nice suit is not an option.
First I get a message saying I have a $50 no paperwork necessary with no mention that it would expire however it did. So I proceeded to buy a shirt pay cash. Unfortunately the shirt did not quite work out. So before I even bring it home, I want to return it now I have to wait 14 freaking days before I get a check from Joseph a Bank this is utter bull$#*!. I have spent a lot of money in the past however I have spent my last dime there
Purchased a suit for a wedding. First the measurements were wrong, so the suit had to be tailored again. Then the suit was misplaced and when it finally was sent to the store, within 3 days of the event, I had to go with it as is. The fit even on their second attempt was not right. After wearing this suit one time, the pant seams came unsewn. Taking back to the store, I witness nothing but hassles, so I had it repaired by another source. For the price and "Quality" or lack there of, I will never purchase another suit here again.
Answer: An agent answered after 4 minutes, but the experience was unsatisfactory.
Answer: Guess what. They saved a buck and squeued you. Banks loves your money, not you.
