I started with Laithwaites just before Xmas 2020. Father in law's been using them for years. Love 90%+ of the wines I've tried but they're not for novices. Had a poor champagne bought for wife's Xmas and called to mention it was tasteless. Money was refunded without question so I have to say I've had excellent service with them so far and f-i-l has always been pleased.
The wine was low quality and when we cancelled our subscription they charged us again and again until we were forced to cancel our card. What a scam.
The wines are amazing, the Laithwaite's customer service is out of this world amazing, the carriers are another story! Parcel Force failed to read my "If not in" instructions and promptly left with my case of wine. I had 9 people arriving for a dinner party that evening.
I called Laithwaite's customer services and was put through to Nicholas Anderson.
Nick was very apologetic and said he would do everything in his power to get it redelivered. I didn't hold out much hope of this happening.
Parcel Force redelivered my wine at 5.36pm on the same day.

Canceled the membership with them and they then shipped to me 2 months later as if nothing had occurred. When I surprisedly went to the site it listed me as having no memberships at all. Interesting... The following day though, they then put up a whole thing about me supposedly being a member. Now that is crooked! I want my money back, You Crooks!
I've been a member of the Laithwaites wine club for a long time and generally enjoy the wines and wine selections. I recently had a problem receiving 2 wine glasses which were part of a special offer. I contacted customer service and they totally let me down. Firstly, I couldn't understand the 1st person I talked to, so I had to call back. Then they wanted me go to a website on which I had already been told to call customer service. They finally said I would be contacted within 24 hours; and that was 5 days ago. I'm very disappointed!

My sister, who gets confused by advertisements online, ordered a box of wine about 6 months ago, for my husband as a Thank you gift. After the first box she realized she was in a wine club and called and canceled the orders. We then got another box of wine after a couple months. At that time I called the 800# and they said OK yes we see your sister canceled. Now couple months later we received wine again. This time I was told my sister has to call. They have to have Fed Ex pick it up again. This Bad Company must have to pay a lot extra charges to FedEx if their customer service can't get it right.
For years I had had wine delivered to my office address, until I sold the business and closed the office two years ago. I tried to cease the service. Customer support failed to allow cancellation. Whether they continued to deliver I don't know, but they continued to charge my AMEX card. The stop on my AMEX card only holds for 12 months. They must automatically continue billing, because now I get a letter from a collection agency for product I never received.
I paid my discputed bill in full 2/21 out of frustrtion, yet Laithewaite continues to bill me and send collection threats. I continue to send emails with proof of payment to no avail. No one takes accountability.
My issues with the Laithewaite dates back to May 2020 when representatives issued me credit under their satisfaction guarantee policy. Six months later they started billing me for the credit they gave me. After too many failed attempts to resolve, I paid the $51. Yes $51! Absolutely not worth anywhere near the time and aggravation, I pursued out of principle, yet even after I threw in the towel and paid Laithewaite still can't get it's act together. Customers have no choice but to rely on what companys' representatives tell them. In the case of Laithewaite, each time I called I got a different story.
NEVER EVER AGAIN, life is too short and our time and patience too valuable.
Tip for consumers:
Don't. Company effectively doesn't exist, other than to take your money and send you crappy wine. Good luck speaking with anyone, and if you get someone chances are they'll say whatever they have to you so you're temporarily happy but won't follow through on what they say. And, the next person you call will tell you something different. ETC...

I received two pamphlets for Laithwaites Wine via my national geographic subscription. I sent two orders, one as a birthday gift for my brother and one for my husband and i. I only got an email and shipping confirmation for one of the orders, the one being sent to my brother. When I emailed them stating the problem, they emailed back (very rudely, by the way) saying it is one order per customer. That is FINE, but what upsets me is that they didn't find it necessary to notify me of this OR ask me which order I actually wanted to go through if i could only choose one. When I told them this, i received a half-$#*! reply from their (yet again) RUDE customer service! Absolutely ridiculous. The carelessness and rudeness of this company's customer service is terrible! Stay away at ALL costs.
Very surprised to uncork our first, then second then third bottles after reading the wine's descriptions, to discover how average and, at times, undrinkable, these wines are. We are casual wine buyers who have gone wine tasting and explored wines, and we felt this wine club would at best offer us some great wines, both red and white, to enjoy. We were disappointed overall, and I would say it was not a good value. Returns and guarantees were initially promised and we were refunded for one wine. But we were told that if we did not like a number of wines, as we did not, that we needed to ship those bottles back, which is a expense.
I have recently been billed £115 for wine I had not ordered and would not have bought.
I have tried phoning, but got the usual unhelpful message.
This is a con, and I would strongly recommend anyone not to do business with Laithwaites.
I ordered wine under order#o*******072@ 24/9/24. After waiting 2 weeks I sent an email not to deliver the before following week because nobody is there in that week. I got no reply. So a sent an other mail, again no reply. I rang the customer phone and the answer was it is a public holiday. So I rang next day 2 times but I waited at least halve an hour and nobody answered the phone. So there is not a chance to get in touch with anyone. The box got delivered in the week I didn't want.
I never deal with clowns any more.

I am French, I live in France and I have never heard of this site, until I discovered that this morning that this site took 500€ from my professional mastercard? A complaint has been filed with my bank for fraudulent transactions. I wonder how this is possible?

I made a deposit and reserved a wine advent calendar for my son on October 1,2019. On November 14,2019 I was looking at my credit card charges and noticed they had refunded my deposit. I called them, after being on hold for 15 minutes, they explained they ran out them and had to refund customers. They did not have the courtesy to contact me to tell me they could not honor the reservation I had made. If they had I would have been able to get a different calendar for my son, now everyone is sold out. I will NEVER do business with them again.
Helen replaced a box of wine that was not delivered in early December. Really impressed by her and the service. I was very late in chasing up the lost wine. A really good experience, was expecting to have to put up a fight.

I started out to be a good deal until the prices continued to escalate. We placed our last order in December of 2018 and then cancel the service. We continued to have annual charges for four years. The customer service team was abysmal. Two conversation were terminated when I challenged charges and activity. The company policy for refunds leaves a lot to be desired.
If it is too good to be true then it is and this is the case ( excuse the pun) with this company. As soon as they apologize for not being able to help, terminated. This is especially true wit their agent Cheila. I only rated with 1 star only because a negative star was not an option.

I cancelled my membership 2 weeks ago - money had been withdrawn from my account. They said that the charges had been reversed and that I would have the funds back in my account in 1-5 days. I have called several times with no satisfaction.
Ordered for first time
First part of order arrived as promised. No problem and was happy. However...
Then discovered I had been charged for items not ordered and my original order had been doctored. Not happy and items I had originally ordered have mysteriously disappeared. I have original emails from them acknowledging what was ordered so how can this happen?
Was hoping to make future purchases but my first experience has left me with very little confidence in Laithwaite
False advertisement (the ad said free shipping but charged $15.00), canceled the order but still charged for it, and would not send refund for over a month, claiming that the money had already been sent
All the bad reviews we have seen on this company are true. They have given us nothing but hassle, Total con artists.
Having had such a problem with this company, over something that should have been so simple, it has been a nightmare every since. We now find that we have been tricked into a regular deliver plan -- which we do not want.
BEWARE! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Bad wine in nice bottles and pretty labels- amount of spam emails from this company and others they sell your personal information to is going to flood your inbox.
I've unsubscribed from them since April and still receive emails from them. Laithwaite's sends me emails on regular basis- despite me contacting their CS via phone and email asking to be removed from their list.
I DO NOT recommend this company.
I can't believe some of the poor reviews I read about Laithwaites Wines. Who are these winers! I have been extremely happy with the wine selections I receive, all of them have been priced below average market retail prices so they are great value. Customer service has been excellent every time I call them. I can change my orders to suit my needs. I am a happy customer. Forget the winers, this is a reptutable company who provides an excellent service. They know their wines.
This company has horrible customer service. They send out wine you did not ask for. Then when you send it back you must call to get a refund. The wine I sent back was received June 29,2020. I called and after a 45 minute wait requested a refund, the person I talked to told me the refund would take about 1 week. So a week later I called the CC company. Still no refund. I called again. Another 55 minute wait and the person told me that I had requested another box of wine. I again ask for a refund and was told it would be done in a few days. Here is it almost a week and still no refund or box of wine. If this ever gets resolved I will cancel my membership with this club. Customer service needs alot of help!

Firstly the wines are awful, Tate & Lyle must do great business with Laithwaites wine partners as one of their recommended reds is so ridiculously sweet it gives neat Ribena a run for it's money. Then, when you're putting the whole thing down to a bad day at Rip off Ville you get endlessly pestered by a Gloucester number trying to sell you more crap wines.
Oh, and they use Yodel, who are the worst courier company since Titanic Shipping Inc.
This is the second time I have had my ASB visa card listed as pending for a wine delivery I did not order and don't want.As a company they are hopeless to deal with in order to get a satisfactory resolution to my problem.
I strongly advise people to never deal with Laithwaites wine as they are just hopelessly inefficient and in competent.

Advertised free glasses with purchase. Got 3 cases of wine n the glasses were broken. Glass was inside of glass but it was the stems that were broken off so how was the glass inside? Offered me a $20 credit value was $29.99 what a deal!
