Ordered 2 pendant lights. The items arrive with serious cosmetic defects. These are not physically damaged from shipping. There are serverely warped from the manufacturing process and should have been discarded. Though we ordered 2 exact pendants, they don't look the same at all. When I tried to contact them, I could easily get a sales rep. The sales rep said they could not access the account, only the customer service rep could. Of course, the customer service was unavailable. I sent them an email, I will give them a few days to respond. I checked BBB dot org and they got an F. I will probably file a complaint.
I usually don't write reviews online, however because this company ships merchandise that is obviously defective, I can only classify them as scams.
Stay away horrible service, I paid $360 shipping to have my order FedEx- overnighted as I had a deadline for the project... 3 days later now still havent received my order, fedex says it hasnt shipped but lighting new york cust service of course says it will be there 'today'
I have purchased lamps for $11.000. Paid for Shipping 800$. COULD not receive it for a long time. Than when I was contacted to pay more money to pay 700$ for another Shipment from Italy. When I received lamps the Wattage was off instead of 220 Watt as I was promised I got 110watt. Contacted company customer service and they Lied that they will find out What is going on. But Nobody Ever called me. I called several times and all I heard is RUDE people on other line of the phone. They have Never called me back! DON'T Buy Anything from NY lightning they are Rip off
I bought a decent light from New York Lighting. No problem with the light, but the shabby service was something else. First, my 25 percent discount for being a first-time buyer was refused. I paid for the light, the shipping and the taxes on my U.S. VISA credit card that is with a U.S. bank. New York Lighting first converted the U.S. dollar amount into Canadian dollars and then converted them back into U.S. dollars to put on my credit card. That little shenanigan cost me another $10 in conversion fees. One does not expect a shabby little trick like that from a reputable company.
Pat who took my order was great. The greatness stopped their the mirror was shattered took pics sent them in they told me throw mirror out new mirror should be ready by May 20th. Emailed May 23rd to find out about mirror still no answer want mirror or take charge off card simple
I found the lamp I wanted on another site but it was out of stock and back-ordered. I then found it at Lighting of New York and not only was it in stock, but it was less money - and then, they gave me a discount on top of that!
I highly recommend lighting new york. I ordered Darlana lanterns for my kitchen island and luv, luv, luv them. My local lighting company wanted hundreds of dollars more with a restock fee if I returned them. And I had to pay sales tax. Not so with lighting New York. Sales person- Dana- was amazing, worked a discount and I had my lanterns within a week. Not sure why others had poor experience. This was my first purchase and I will definitely purchase again- I need a kitchen table light next.
I dealt with Glen. He bent oven backward to help me complete my purchase. Matching price from Birch Lane and researching items we would need (down rods) for one of the fixtures.
Our experience with them has been bad from start - and we're still waiting to finish!
Their customer service person gave us misinformation about the 2 lamps we purchased on March 8th, including the fact that they were 'in stock' and would have them within 5 business days. On 3/19, we called to learn that they only had one lamp and were holding it until the second lamp was available. Had we not called them, we would not have learned about it. We told them to send the one they had. It is now July 12th, we still only have one of the two lamps, despite having paid for both. On 3/19, we were told that the second lamp would be shipped around 5/31. We continue to wait!
With all the places to shop for online lighting, I would think this company would pay attention to their competition. Prices are the same as other places and I say if you can't find it elsewhere and aren't 100% sure it is what you want don't buy. It takes them 3 days to GET APPROVAL for a return then most of the manufacturers and they assess a service charge of 25% for restocking. It's my own fault for not reading the small print, but not all internet stores are created equal...
The best place to buy lighting. Great support, competitive pricing and great follow up. Had a lot to buy and found when looking for many items the best availability and price was found right here at LNY!
I needed a replacement driver for a WAC light fixture and was going through various people answering phones and frustrating delays with the lighting store where I purchased the fixture. I decided to go straight to WAC and, boy, am I glad I did! A quick phone call with a friendly, knowledgeable customer service agent and the part was ordered! I am so happy I went to the "source" instead of messing around with the intermediary lighting store!
This site adverstised a chandelier@$812, free shipping, 110% price match guarantee. When I ordered they added $99 shipping fee. I sent e-mail showing a competitior that advertised the chandelier for $812, free shipping. This merchant said they could not offer free shipping; did not honor 110% price match. I canceled my order. They confirmed cancellation. Today, I received UPS shipping confirmation and my credit card account has been charged. Stay away!
Horrible-they are a lying scamming business. They are NOT risk free-cost me $320.00 to return a lantern-they they held back a $25.00 restocking fee-and told me that if I ordered another product, they would credit the restocking fee. Well it took me 3 weeks to figure out what I wanted for a newly renovated ktichen and when I called them they said I took too long and would not credit me. They misrepresent and and classic bait and switchers-BEWARE
Positive thus far. Will see how the order is processed. We had a house fire and are trying to save money where we can to meet possible gaps between what insurance will or will not pay.

Answer: When did you place the order? You can/should call your credit card company to file a dispute. Did you get any payment confirmation (did you keep those things in writing)? ANSWER: Yes, I talked with RBC Bank in Georgia, which said that the merchant had made the dollar conversions and only the merchant could reverse it. Lighting New York said it was nothing to do with them and could not reverse the phony charge.
