My experience with LiveCareer was extremely helpful. I was referred to the website and the resume choices were fantastic. It has so much more ways of describing my talents than their regular applications. I'm sure that's why I already got a job.
Thank you soooooo much.
I would rate your resume help a very generous 100%!

100% scam, never buy this product. I am so sorry not to read all the comments before paying 2$ for initial subscription. Going to my bank to ask for help today and better way to sue this company.
Livecareer crew, I ask you kindly for the last time to refund me my money. You know what you do is illegal.

While this website has very good templates for resumes and cover letters, the trial subscription is very tricky. The company should send out a reminder notice to customers ASKING if they want to continue with the subscription at a charge of $39.80 every 4 weeks or if they wish to cancel. This can be set up as an automatic message and requires very little work/cost for the company. People searching for jobs get too busy to remember when the 14 day trial is up and the charge goes through in their bank accounts. Then customers call to cancel and the company claims it is a valid charge because "we do our very best to inform the customers of the upcoming charge to their account at the end of the trial period." It's basically a very clever way of getting money from people.

You force or attempt to force customers to pay some type of money by not stating that this is not a free service in the beginning rather than at the end when users have already have spent a lot of time building the resume. Its a shady way to do business and I will never do business with you again.

We’d like to clarify that our basic access accounts allow you to create and download a plain text version using our examples and tips, Ronald.

However, if you would like to download, print or email a professionally formatted version of your new document using our copyrighted templates in a PDF or Word format you’ll need to subscribe first for a small fee which we offer a 14-day trial option.

In addition, we do grant a 100% money-back guarantee for our trial fee if you are not satisfied with the end result!.

We are currently challenging a total £92 taken off my wifes credit card over four payments We signed up as my son was 16 and looking for first job. The cv trial had a small charge but at no point is it mentioned the monthly payments of £23. My wife used her credit card but as this was for my son his email was used. After the initial payment my son had received an email which said Thank You. Unknown to us was it also contained details of the payments that would now be taken. We are challenging as the card holder was not informed, only the end user who at 16 would not be reading finer print. Currently have not received a reply to my complaint and request for refund. We will dispute through our credit card company. Stay clear of Live Career is the only advice i can give anyone

The resume building was an amazing experience, the layouts were great, everything was wonderful. I was only a little disappointed because you guys are advertised as a free service on google and you all are not. So only 4 stars -1 for false advertisement.

Hold music could be better, like classic rock or something? Still wish it was cheaper or free and didn't have to call and could cancel online if need be but Idk, these people have aimed to please and hit their target. I hope I get a job soon...

Comes second to none. After weeks of trying to find a job with what I once thought was a great representation of myself (resumé), I was getting no where fast. A friend looked over my resume and said it needed revising. I found LiveCareer.com and went straight to work. In less than 30 minutes I had my resume completed, error proof, and ready to be sent out. Within the first hour of job fishing with my new and improved resume, I received a call, got an interview, sealed the deal, and now I'm here describing my experience :). In all, this is a GREAT company and tool to use.

As a uni student, I found themall price of $1.95 very reasonable and I thought it would be useful to create my resume. However, little did I know that after using the website once, I would be debited 40$USD two weeks later without confirmation. As a uni student already struggling with money, these hidden fees are very costly. Yes I am sure that these fees were stated in the fine printed but this has now set me back 40$USD for using the site once. Not happy and do not recommend.

Tip for consumers:
Be careful..

Site was easy to find and use. Needed an updated resume and had it done in an hour. Disappointed only due to being charged extra month after trying to cancel account as did not need to access the Site anymore. $19.99 is a lot monthly after making the resume and no longer needing the service.

If it was possible this review would have negative -5 stars. This is the worst website ever I don't even know how this damn website got my information but I know one thing that it took 40 dollars that I did not have to give. And on top of that I looked up other websites to help build up your resume there are many better websites other than this $#*!ty one. They are only after one thing MONEY!

My 16 year old paid to print a cover letter and used her bank card. Then they started billing her. I called and had a conversation letting them know she was a minor and could not legally enter into a contract. They take zero responsibility for entering into such a contract and refuse to refund the almost 40 dollars to her bank account. I spoke with a supervisor who also refused and asked if I wanted to file a fraud charge against my daughter. Like that was a threat. She used her own bank card so there was no fraud I told him. Then he continued to read his script about how they make their best effort to prove age. Obviously they failed this time! A minor cannot legally concent to a monthly contract. This business needs to take responsibility for their actions, as I am seeing multiple posts regarding minors and they just give a too bad response.

They make it appear like you will be getting a resume for $4.95 (which by the way is Highway Robbery)! Who in the world would subscribe to a resume service and pay $34.95 per month?!?

However, when you click to purchase you "$4.95" resume you are actually subscribing to their ridiculous resume service. If someone is looking for a job, they obviously would not want to subscribe to a service like this.

When you discover the $34.95 charge on your credit card statement with their number (*******430), you can cancel the service. However, they will still charge you a pro-rated amount. I discovered it fairly quickly. So, I was only charged $10.

But still, this company is the scum of the www using predatory techniques on a segment of the population that is struggling. Download Libre office and use something from their office suite to make your resume. Or download a resume template from Microsoft.com. But don't use this service!

Hi Matt C,

Hi, work at LiveCareer. I apologize for the misunderstanding. The $4.95 subscription is good for 7 days and we rely on you to cancel whenever you are finished. Once you cancel you will no longer be charged. But, many of our customers continue to use our service for several months during their entire job search. Recent statistics show that the average job search can take up to 9 months. For your best chances at getting a job we do encourage users to create a customized cover letter AND tailor their resume for each job they apply to. A monthly subscription to Resume Builder makes tailoring, customizing, and creating cover letters really easy and fast, besides that you can also post your resume to 90 job boards which gives you better chances of landing a job.

We assure you LiveCareer operates in accordance with all legal standards. Our subscription prices and policies are clearly stated in the details of the subscription underneath each price option.

If you have any questions regarding your subscription our customer service team is available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free 1-888-816-0576 or through live chat on our site. If you prefer you can send us an email to: customerservice@livecareer.com. We also list our contact information on our "Contact Us" and "About Us" Pages on our site.

I called in 6-6-16 at 8:30am and was lucky enough to speak to such a wonderful young man. He let me fully explain that I did start using your service but once I went to print I was logged out and couldnt ever get logged back in. I emailed this team hoping to have this resolved quickly but had no luck, it forced me to have to use another resume builder site. But the young man I spoke to today was very patient and understanding! He must have been trained good on how to speak and interact professionally with his customers! Kudos young man, Thank You again for assisting me. I wish I would of written his name down..

I made a resume here in 2012, paid to print a couple off. It's 2015 won't let me print it today. I should have access to do this. I'm sure the terms and agreement was not the same then. $40 is steep for someone looking for a job. Plus they claim it is totally free until you print. Calling BBB. Waste of time. Do not use. I recommend another service.

I needed to write a resume and it had been awhile, so I did some internet research and that's when I found livecareer.com. The web site is awesome! It helps you save time while building a killer resume. Everything is provided right there for you. The 7 day trial period at a 4.95 expense is very reasonable especially in today's economy, Livecareer is wonderful and you can easily become hooked on the web site because of the professional style of resumes. It makes it easy to customize resumes and cover letters for each job. I would recommend this web site to any one and it has helped me a lot. I went to one interview and a lady sitting next to me notice how professional my resume looked and I told her about livecareer.com.

This company is a scam. I signed up for the 14 day trial so I could complete one resume which was all I needed with no knowledge of the fact that they will automatically charge you $9.95 each week every 4 weeks after that 14 day trial without even contacting you to see if you want to continue the subscription. Which I did not. Now That this has been brought to my attention by my bank 9 months later and almost 360 dollars later I am pretty mad. I was never told or notified that I would be charged and this is outrageous. To make matters better I went on the website and signed in and tried to deactivate my account. It would not let me. A scam at it's best. I would very much like to get my money back or at least some part of it or I will take this further. This is a sad excuse for an apparent BBB accredited business.

I had to do a lot of complaining to get a refund, but was kindly helped thereafter. Overall, a great site for its purposes, but expensive and a little shady.
