Had a great experience with this site.

All kinds of templates to use and insights.

Even had to call customer service with a quick question/help, got taken care of.

I was told this was an outstanding resume that I completed with the web site.

If your looking to build your resume and have not done so in a while I would recommend you use this site, you can not go wrong.

You will land the job after you complete it with Live Career.com

Thanks to a support worker, Anna, did concede and returned 3 months of 6 months billings.
It is their policy to auto-bill,,,, soooo beware, and be warned. Also they are not a USA comp, they are UK, all billing is UK. Would I use again? Site was OK, worth the fees, NO. You can hire a professional writer for much less that 40$ a month. Always be aware of auto-billing. I will never again use a real CC, banks now issue refillable CC for internet use, I now know why. And the CC company's wont back you since they consider auto billing legitimate.
Be Warned! I am thank full for the assistance of the person mentioned, but it should never have happened.

Tip for consumers:
never use your real credit card for anything online! Use temp cards and maybe paypal

I had the pleasure of speaking with, Mr. Victor, your customer service representative. He was knowledgeable, patient and efficient. He assisted me in resolving my issue. I've worked telephone customer service representative job in the past and I know a good representative when I'm on the phone. He was also very attentive and went way and beyond. Kudos to him..

I signed up to help my 18 year old make a resume for a job. I did cancel that night. I have so many automatic withdrawals on my account i did not notice for the past 6 months they have been deducting $34.95 from my account. When I called them it took them forever to find my account (so how was I supposed to). The email was my son's and had been going into his SPAM folder. Not only would $34.95 be a ripoff for 1 resume, but imagine paying that times 6 for 1 resume with no work history. Anna B. Please don't bother responding. You know you rip off people so don't even bother with your company lines. I don't know how you sleep at night. Karma is a $#*! though. You will reap what you sow.

I'm absolutely appalled by Livecareer's ethics because they are willing to scam people without any remorse.
On January, I signed up for a resume ( Knowing i would be charged $1.95). Two months later I got a bank statement, notifying me that Livecareer had charged me $39.80 per month (total of $81.88). I had no idea that they were charging me, I called them immediately after i got my bank statement. And they told me I would PARTIALLY receive a refund (only $35.00) for the second month. I don't understand why they couldn't give me a FULL refund, because they never gave me any confirmation that they were charging me. Also, the customer service was terrible (the guy who was on the phone was pretty much yelling at me!)
This website is a total scam and I warn you not to use Livecareer because they FAIL to do the right thing.

Hi Cindy K.,

I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. We take pride in providing effective and valuable career, resume and cover letter assistance to hundreds of thousands of people. We also explain that the subscription is auto-renewing. We state this on every page in the purchase process and we send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. There are instances that auto emails can get picked up as spam or junk mail. Be sure to check your spam/junk mail folder. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings.

The prorated refund that we processed was a courtesy credit. We are very committed to providing great customer service and customer satisfaction, and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We take all feedback very seriously. It will be forwarded to our Marketing and Customer Service team.

Best regards,

Anna

Called the number listed, no answer, then a busy signal. Tried to use LiveChat, left to wait for 5 minutes and no one came on. Called my credit card company to indicate that I did not order anything from them and am now being issued a new credit card. Funny thing is, my credit card company was well aware of how LiveCareer works.

Used Live Career to updated my resume for a job change. Easy to use and loved my final outcome. Got mixed up with dates on when I should cancel my subscription so I wouldn't be billed the following month, called Customer Service and Charlie really helped me out with NO problems. He did everything for me and was very polite. I will be a returning customer when it is time to again update my resume.

AVOID using this service! The resume builder is good, but you are charged a one time fee of 2.95, then they refuse to refund you any charges if you do not cancel before the billing cycle startes, even if it is one day! You cannot access anyone by phone as their "phone lines are down" and it took four attempts to chat with anyone as they end the chat while you are still typing. Even mid conversation!

Date of experience: August 20, 2013

Laura T. – LiveCareer Rep

Dear Terri,

Thank you for your comments and for appreciating Resume Builder.

We are very clear that when you subscribe there is an auto-renewing feature, and if you were unable to cancel your subscription within the given period, we will bill you at the monthly rate of $34.95. We inform you of this feature on your payment confirmation page and again give you this information when we send you your payment confirmation to the e-mail address that you provided us.

We give you multiple ways to cancel your subscription by phone, chat, by e-mail at customerservice@livecareer.com, or you can even go to our website, where there is a self-cancellation feature under the “My Account” section. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience if you were unable to get hold of us yesterday by phone and if chat gets disconnected in the middle of conversation. Our systems were being upgraded, which unexpectedly had an effect on our phone service and chat feature. We would like to have this issue resolved for you. Please give us a call at our customer service number at 1-888-816-0576, 17 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Yup they did the same thing to me. They get with you their 14 day trial for only $2.95. NO WHERE does it say that they will auto bill you for a monthly fee of $34.95 after the trial is over. And low and behold I see the charge show up on my credit card and now they are refusing to refund me, saying I agreed to their policies when I signed up they are truly STEALING!

Dear Logan,

Thank you for your comments.

We are puzzled at your statement that we do not let our subscribers know of our recurring billing feature. We clearly state on the payment confirmation page as well as the e-mail confirmation that we send to every subscriber, that your subscription has an auto-renewing feature if you do not cancel your subscription during the introductory period. It is not in small print; it is listed as one of the subscription options. We also provide you with the information on the many ways to cancel your subscription, if you wish to avoid your subscription renewing at the monthly rate.

I If you have more questions, our customer service team is available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free 1-888-816-0576 or through live chat on our site. If you prefer you can send us an email to: customerservice@livecareer.com. We also list our contact information on our "Contact Us" and "About Us" Pages on our site.

I found myself looking for a job after funding was cut and circumstances all pointed to "leave now". I had been in my role for 15 1/2 years and hadn't put a resume together for quite some time. LiveCareer was a very helpful resource and gave me confidence I could walk through what I needed to do. When it was time to cancel the service, I was surprised at how genuinely cheerful they were to work through my request.

For the benefit of our users, we offer a Basic Access account that gives you the chance to try out our builder before deciding to purchase our premium features, this account allows you to download a plain text version completely free.

We also provide a Full Access account for a small fee that offers a 14-day trial period, this gives you the ability to print, email, or download your documents using our copyrighted templates, but these features are NOT listed within the Basic Access account. In addition, we do offer a 100% money-back guarantee for our trial fee.

I called regarding some billing issues that were the result of my misunderstanding of the continuous subscription past the 14 day period after you've used one of Resume Now's templates. The man helping me was pleasant, polite and understanding. He explained to me exactly why I was billed and, to my surprise, fully refunded my money. I was very appreciative of how willing to help me he was for a mistake that was truly due to my own silly negligence. If I ever again find the need to use Resume Now, I certainly will. Great resume templates and excellent customer service. Thanks!

Scam scam scam. They offer you a 2.95 one week trial. Just figured out i have been getting billed 34.95 a month for the last few months. Apparently in their terms of service there is a line amongst the endledd paragraphs that says they will bill you forever unless they cancel.

Date of experience: March 20, 2013

Thumbnail of user dougj2
Laura T. – LiveCareer Rep

Dear Steve,

I apologize for the misunderstanding. The $2.95 option you chose is good for 7 days and then it auto-renews. Underneath the subscription options in the same size font we state that the subscription will auto-renew on the 8th day. Additionally, we state that on confirmation page, as well as in the email confirmation you received. On our Terms of use we stated “We will automatically charge your credit card or other account at the start of the billing period and at the start of each renewal period, unless you cancel your subscription before the relevant renewal period begins”. Many of our customers continue to use our service for several months during their entire job search and make use of our resume posting service, which increases their chances of getting a job, but once you cancel you will no longer be charged. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email, and self- cancellation in your Account Settings!

If you have further questions, you can also contact our customer service team for help! We are available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free 1-888-816-0576 or through live chat on our site. If you prefer you can send us an email to: customerservice@livecareer.com. We also list our contact information on our "Contact Us" and "About Us" Pages on our site.

I used resume builder for myself, my grandson and son in law - 25,38, and 63 years old - we all benefitted from the easy to navigate Livecareer.
The great thing about this resume builder is they include a selection of specific descriptions with each of our strengths and discrete skills. I would reccommend this for anyone and any age group.
When I needed to cancel my subscription to Livecareer, the young lady i spoke to was courteous and was amicable.
Great company and excellent results - we all got the jobs we wanted!

Not even a star! No stars. LiveCareer is a scam! My son paid $2 for an resume. Then they started to charge my bank account since then. Tonight I found I was charged $39.8 and $1.19 international fee and looked suspicious. Then I tracked back and found I have been charging $39.8 and $1.19 every month since last May, almost $450! Are they going to charge me the rest of my life? I am going to make a mission to tell everybody about this scam and to get my money back.

I had the same exact situation as the previous poster. I know I canceled but never received a confirmation. I also find it suspicious that a recurring billing site does not send monthly notifications of your service continuing - part of the scam to keep you oblivious if you're not verifying your monthly checking account statements.

I sent the information to my bank as a fraud complaint after reading the other messages here.

Dear Marcus,

Thanks for your comments.

Marcus, we sent a payment confirmation email upon purchase stating the amount purchased and right below that would be the auto-renewal amount and date. We also give multiple ways in which you can cancel: by phone, email, chat and through “Account Settings” online. Once you have cancelled the service we send an automatic cancellation confirmation email for your records to the email address you’ve used to create the account. If you cannot locate it in your inbox you can check your spam or bulk folders sometimes it is routed there by mistake.

Please contact us as soon as possible so that so we can cross check if you have cancelled your service successfully. I went on MPR and as I was using their service to download one edited resume I was asked to pay about $1.95 so I went ahead and paid it. However, I was not aware of the fact that I'd automatically been subscribed and had to pay $24.95/mo. I called to explain what happened and I got a refund. I must say it was handled with so much care and grace!

I signed for the one month period@$ 7.95 and got charged for a full year@$ 95.40. I did not want the full year. I cancelled online and received "confirmation of my cancellation" within a few hours. Nothing was mentioned about a refund. I waited a few days and called the customer service number and asked when I could expect my refund. She (Irish) calculated the days between cancellation and my request for refund and said I could expect a refund of $93.45 within 2-3 business days depending on my bank. A charge for use fee of $1.95 was deducted from the original fee of $95.40. This happened yesterday and today my refund of $ 93.45 has already been returned to my bank account. I would say this is excellent service and I would do business with LiveCareer again if the need arises.

Tip for consumers:
If you cancel, do it online, then follow up with a call to customer service for your refund.

The website was easy to navigate and build my resume. Only downfall is the miscommunition of charges. It would of been nice to have known about the 40 dollar charge a month.
Luckily, the nice lady who talked to me was friendly and informative. She was very apologetic.
