Make sure you delete your subscription as soon as you create your resume, they charged me $39 every four weeks for 2 years without letting me know that they were charging my account (which is around $950.00). No help or refunds are given once contacted since everything is in the "Terms and Conditions". Just stay away from this site, it's one big scam.

Love this resume assist site. Totally a 5 star experience. Very simple and straight forward to use and helpful on the suggestions feature. I will definitely be creating various versions of my resumes.
I accidently came by it and has proven to be a keeper.
I really needed a good brush-up on my resume and Live-Career definitely did the job for me

Henrietta,
We're thrilled to hear that your experience with us merited 5 stars all around! Thank you so much for providing the great feedback!
I had a same experience with below users, without any notice, they can claim 42 dollars for 2 month from my credit card and very rude attitude (her name is Jam) in live help, no hung up the phone with the number that she gave.
What I do is just paid 1.95 dollar to download the file. It is completely scam.

Obviously, LIveCareer makes their $ off of people like myself who miss the fine print of the auto-renew feature after 14 days. Thank goodness, I caught the $40 fee when looking at my bank statement today. Great product if you cancel after 14 days. $40/month is a bit excessive after that. Customer Service helpful in cancelling quickly, but I'm still disappointed overall. LiveCareer, please read all of these low ratings, and adjust your marketing appropriately.

Everything was really awesome. Resume Builder helped me immensely in preparing a very professional resume. Thank you ever so much. I'm eternally grateful for all your wonderful help. Keep up the good work, everyone. You're doing great!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Brenda our team prides itself on providing top-notch customer service and your feedback helps us tremendously.
I would suggest that since you have peoples email address on file that you give a courtesy notification a couple of weeks in advance of the anniversary to let people know they are about to be charged again for a subscription. After 1 year most people have found a job and might not need your service and then the charge shows up on their bank statement or credit card. However David was able to help me resolve this matter quickly I appreciate his courteous manner.

The site was very useful but they charged my credit card for 2 months after. We were busy working on resumes and obviously missed some small print that said we needed to cancel a membership. Very disappointing, shady business!
I contacted them and they refused to reimburse the money. Reputable companies like Apple etc would never lower themselves to these tricks. I guess that explains their success!
Be careful!,

Good layout and overall pretty quick. Would give 5 stars but the prices from auto renewal could only be described as avarice and greed. Relatively easy to cancel if you call, just check your email for confirmation to be sure.

Hello Dahlia P.,
We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the layout and found the Resume Builder easy and quick to use. We do try to make it easy to cancel when you want. We appreciate your feedback Dahlia and we wish you the best in your career search!

WARNING! Please look for another resume building site, I have requested using all the channels that they had provided to cancel my subscription. When they did cancelled my subscription they close my access the site (login doesn't exist anymore) but there still taking $39.80 US out of my account each month... for what! They've closed my subscription two months ago so why haven't stopped the deduction from my account. I think if it keeps going I will contact the police near there business and get them to pay a visit and question them about fraud. I've done this before to another Business in the US that was doing the same thing... the police were very interested and happy to assist... a week later I got my refund into my account of $207.00.
What these people are doing is illegal, to save your money and a huge headache "AVOID"

Hi Barbara A.,
I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. In response to the ticket LTK121930729631X, you provided the last 4 digits of the card 1093. Upon checking, the account was under an email address@racp.edu.au, and not@gmail.com.
I have cancelled your subscription and issued 3 full refunds in the amount of $119.40 as a courtesy credit. You'll see it on your bank statement within 2-3 business days. I have also sent you a confirmation to the email address registered to the account.

Used this site 2 weeks ago. My card was charged $39.95 for a recurring fee which I didn't authorize since I paid the $1.95 just to print my document. Tried to call multiple times to speak with a supervisor but she has apparently been in a meeting for over 3 hours now. Total rip off! Anyone have any advice on what to do?!

Hi BJ C.,
I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. We explain that the subscription is auto-renewing. We state this on every page in the purchase process and we send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings.
Please contact me directly with the email address you used to create your account or the last 4 digits of the card that was billed and card holder’s name so that we can resolve this issue quickly for you. Please email me at anna.b@livecareer-support.com.

Hi Team,
I have used live career for resume making on 21st Jan 2019 it cost me 2.95$.
After that I never used your site but my credit card has be billed 4 times after that (4* 24.95)$. Without any intimation that your subscription has started, this is absolutely fraud business model in terms of payment point of view, You should at least sent a mail for subscription start confirmation and each bill should be mailed as well.
Is this just a loophole or you guys are trying to exploit. Please think about it some one is making their resume on your site and your way of subscription is costing him 96$, Kindly process the refund and change your subscription model so that before monthly subscription will start you should take confirmation from user whether they want to go ahead with this subscription or not.
Date of experience: May 12, 2019
Hello Shubhangi,
We deeply apologize if there was any confusion on the terms of our subscription. Please allow us a moment to clarify. Once customers are enrolled in our 14-day trial, they are automatically enrolled in our monthly subscription service. This is the first instance in which notify customers that they may cancel at any time. We also indicate that if they do not wish to be charged for the recurring subscription, then they must cancel their subscription before the end of the 14-day trial either through their account or by contacting us. We clearly explain that unless you self-cancel or request cancelation before the 14-day trial expires, you authorize us to charge your account every four weeks at the current rate of the subscription.
The auto-renewal information is listed in multiple areas such as the:
-Sell page
-Payment information page
-Processing payment page
-Order confirmation page
-Payment confirmation e-mail
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience and hope that we were able to leave you with a better impression of us!
I had a billing issue but Ana was great at helping resolve it via live chat. She was very efficient and nice; well practiced at communicating online which isn't always easy. And resolved my problem! Usually when you ask companies for refunds they can get fussy but she didn't. Thanks!

Hi Tabetha I.,
We strive to make our customers happy. Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your recent experience with our service provided by Ana. At LiveCareer, we take feedback seriously because it changes how we do things. In fact, we rely on it to continually improve our customers’ experience.
Best regards, LiveCareer
I had a similar experience as everyone else. I got the cover letter and that looked alright, but then they decided to bill me 40 dollars a month! Thats an insane amount especially for a full time student and a part time worker. The company hides the fact that it is an auto renew subscription and upon chatting with a rep I was refunded a month (its been 7 days since that charge) and even though i haven't signed into my account in three months I was told too bad. I really think its bad business practice to not clearly inform customers of an auto renew policy and then never follow up with them. Try elsewhere or even better, just format it yourself in word, you'll end up happier and richer.
Tip for consumers:
just avoid it, you're better of creating a resume in word or publisher

I've been charged on my credit card for something I didn't authorise. The exchange rate is a killer as they charge a 'fee' so along with their charge they add an 'exchange rate fee' which is a small % of the other charge. All in all I've got four charges, only 1 being ok'd by me. These guys are thieves. I've tried phoning (from NZ!), emailing and using live chat - nothing! Rip Off and when people may not have that money to spare these guys should be behind bars.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site!!

Hi Merryl A.,
I’m very sorry if you were unable to get in touch with our customer service. Some banks charge an international transaction fee, even when the charge is in US dollars. These fees are charged by your bank and not LiveCareer.
Please contact me directly with the email address you used to create your account or with the last 4 digits of the card that was billed and card holder’s name so that I can take a look at it personally. Please email me at anna.b@livecareer-support.com

I wish I had read this page before using Live Career. My experience is the same as others who have posted. Used the resume trial and didn't realize you had to cancel or they'd automatically charge your account the monthly fee. Additionally, there were a few charges for "international fees"... The representative told me they've made it perfectly clear that unless you cancel, your account would be automatically billed. BAD Business! This should be illegal!

The customer support was amazing. Mr. Ronnie Grant (I.D. 23) walked me through step by step with much patience. My original score was boost up with my resume once he made the changes while coaching me on the phone. My cover letter is marketable and a sure fit for my anticipated new role as an Assistant Dean of Business School. Thank you Ron for your help. I truly appreciate it!

Hi Rhonda,
Firstly, we wish you all the best in landing your new role as the Assistant Dean of Business School! Thank you for taking out the time to recognize Ronnie's above and beyond customer service!
Terrible! Advertise as free then when it comes down to getting your 'free' resume they hold it hostage until you pay. The service is good but what kind of company needs to lie to get customers? Just be up front and honest. Not okay!

Hey, Rachelle
We're sorry to hear this, we’d like to clarify that our Basic Access accounts allow you to create and download a plain text version of your resume and cover letter using our examples and tips.
However, if you would like to download, print or email a professionally formatted version of your resume using our copyrighted templates in a PDF or Word format you will need to subscribe first for a small fee which we offer a 14-day trial option.
In addition, we do grant a 100% money-back guarantee for our trial fee.
I am so livid with these scammers! Save yourself the money and head ache and don't sign up for they're ongoing resume service that's not even a professional format. When you try to discontinue they play dumb. When you dispute they're withdrawals they simply change something around from their point and pull it in a slightly different way. So far I've disputed 7 or 8 withdrawals. My bank said I'm going to have to close down my card when I get home from vacation and open a new one.

All I wanted to do is print a small resume but of course that was impossible without
"subscribing". The hook was "just pay $1.95". It then comes out that your account will be billed $30.80 every four weeks! The real kicker is when you try to cancel.
Either the website is "down" at that particular time, or the phone is not working. I sent an email and no one ever got back to me. Finally, I got results with the "live chat". I would not recommend this site.
