Good. I had no trouble working with the available tools and templates. Would have liked a bit more customization for each section. Overall I'd use again with no hesitation

Reason I chose this business:

This company has been stealing my money without letting me know. The customer service guy seems like he had already heard this kinds of complain thousands of times and did not help at all. I just want a full refund otherwise I will start a class action against this company.

I had the same problem with all other customers. I used their online resume template in Dec 2014 for $1.95 with my automatic payment credit card, and just realized today that they have charged me $39.80 for 5 month without sending me any receipt or notification whatsoever. When I called, they said the same thing as they told other customers, that it is in their policy the auto pay occurs after 14 days. They charged me so far $200 for no service provided, and they only agree to refund $39.80.

These guys need to be reported for their deception. I will fight. We all need to do something to stop this crime!

This service is a scam. We went online to cancel the service during the 14 day trial period and realized that we were charged anyway. Never been received a bill! Then called customer service after disputing with the credit card company and was placed on hold for 15 mins before the call disconnected? I have tried the chat feature and it would never connect and have now resorted to sending an email, which given my other experiences am not confident I will get a call back! Do not use this service!

I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. We explain that the subscription is auto-renewing. The auto renewal is listed with the features of the 14 day subscription on the sales page, as well as on the payment and confirmation pages. We also send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings.

Cancellation stops the auto-renewal. Once it’s cancelled, we send a cancellation confirmation email for your records. There are times that auto emails can get picked up as spam or junk mail. Be sure to check your spam/junk mail folder.

We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We take all feedback very seriously. It will be forwarded to our Marketing team. Please contact me directly if you have any further issues. You can email me at customerservice@livecareer.com

Dear Anna B,
Don't you get tired of replying to all the 1 star reviews from disappointed and disgruntled customers. I have run a successful company for 10 years now - good ethical business practice is of up-most importance and because of this, we have maintained a. 001% complaint rate over 10 years. I would hate to see Live Careers complaint rate.
You have a good product yet your terms and conditions are deceiving and your customers are left with bad taste in their mouths when they are charged for a subscription that they did not know they signed up for. I have listed your charge of $39.80 US as an unauthorized payment with my financial institution.

Tip for consumers:
The following is what is sent to you via email after you create and download your resume:

My wife needed a site to make a resume and this site was free so we thought.
1st they get you at the download your resume for $1.95. I had a bad feeling when giving my credit card info and I was right. Several days later they billed $39.95 for I still don't know what. Something we never agreed to or wanted and if known was coming would have stopped it.
10/21/2014 Addendum - Since I have posted this review Livecareer has made everything right. They were very helpful and I want to thank them for having good customer service.

I also am one of the consumers that got duped into the $39.80 payment. I think that it is a shameful business practice to advertise a quick, easy and cheap start-up, and then conveniently charge close to forty dollars two weeks later.
I remember no blatant statements of the need to cancel upon my checkout, and I absolutely saw no statement of the extreme amount that would be charged. There is NO SERVICE that this website can provide that is worth the monthly charge.

I am highly disappointed and feel used by this company. I guess it's just another way for big companies to suck money from busy in-need people.

Tip for consumers:
I would never recommend this company- find another way.

Hi Lara F.,

I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. All of our subscriptions are auto-renewing if not cancelled. Although the site itself is fairly helpful in creating a resume & or cover letter their business practices are at best unethical. First they reel you in with the "free resume builder", which is as close to a total lie as possible. You can build it for free but you can't print, download, or e-mail it unless you pay $2.95 which obviously isn't free & unless you pay it your resume is useless so you've done the work for nothing. Then they slide in the recurring monthly charge which is $34.95 unless you cancel. The recurring fee is clearly there to scam people as are all automatic renewals. Had they been up front about their fees & not had an automatic monthly renewal I probably would've used the site several times & recommended. However their shady business practices have driven me away for good. I would suggest no one use this site, but if you choose to beware they will get every cent out of you they can take until you force them to stop.

What a scam! My daughter recently needed a resume and as it said "free resume builder" we decided to go ahead. After spending an hour or so working on this resume, it then said that for $1.95 to save. I told her yes because it would probably be worth it and $1.95 is not much anyway. 5 months later and have only just realised they have been charging me close to $40 a month for the privilege of what? I had no idea. What a fraud. Am so angry. Should have read this first!

The service was great! Very helpful, many suggestions and templates. However when it came time to cancel my subscription I felt ignored. Conveniently the "my settings" page to cancel was always down. I emailed twice in a span of two weeks and got no response. I had to resort to live help and she was very nice. I don't like how tricky it is. If I didn't stay on this they would have charged my account again. I'm not pleased.

I used this service as a trial and cancelled within the timeframe given... I was given the ok, "we hate to see you go, but will get this processed for you" back in 2015. Now here I am May 2016 and still being charged this ridiculous fee of $95.40--for a service that I have never used. I disputed it with my Credit Card company, but Live Careers sent info that I wanted the services? HOW is that? I cancelled--- last year. Now the CC company will resubmit the funds to them. OMG! Today, I spoke with a floor supervisor (Live Careers) that assured me that she would submit a request for cancellation dating back to 2015 and refund my money. RIP OFF! SCAM!

Tip for consumers:
They say "TRIAL PERIOD", you can CANCEL, DO NOT BELIEVE IT! IF you give them any info, they lock you in and steal from you every chance they get!

Your website effectively makes it impossible to sign up for the annual account, forcing users into a high-dollar monthly one. I intend to finish my work on LiveCareer, download my resume, cancel my account and leave strongly worded negative reviews on social media and related sites so no person will ever want to use your service.

To clarify, we offer two types of accounts, the first one being a basic access account that gives you the chance to try out our builder before deciding to purchase our premium features, this account allows you to download a plain text version completely free. We also provide a full access account for a small fee that grants you 14-days to print, email, or download your documents using our copyrighted templates, but these features are NOT listed within the free account.

In addition, we do offer a 100% money-back guarantee for our 14-day trial if you are not satisfied with our services.

I am appalled with your company... you charge me a dollar to download my cover letter, than less than a month later charge me 46 dollars? Are you insane? For what? How do you justify this after downloading one sheet of paper? Do you think this is fair or justified? I am disgusted angry and very upset! People are trying to seek employment and jobs so clearly they need money and you prey on it! You take your dollar, no1 reads any fine print and then you take almost 50? From people who don't have jobs and need it the most? Unbelievable!

Excellent resume builder, but unless I pressed the wrong resume type, your 'education' section doesn't allow for existing non-US citizen education parameters. (British school and university systems have different study fields and graduation descriptions.

I really commend the prompt service by Mr. William. The ability to provide the resolution quickly that I was having with correcting information on my resume exceeded my expectations. Never have i ever seen a company and its site so manipulative and deceitful. I used the services for two hours to continue building a resume, in hopes to unsubscribe afterwards and pay the small few dollar fee. Needless to say, i have already been billed 45$ and did not sign any disclaimer or warning they would be doing so. How shocking is it that a company is offering such help, with only the promise of the opposite.

I found this site online and could not be happier. I was out of work for almost 6 months after being laid off from a company I worked over 12 years for. My friend told me that the problem was my resume (I havent written one in over 12 yrs!) so I went online and found this site. It was so easy to write a resume because they have these examples that really helped me word things that I did at my last job. I started hearing back from jobs a few weeks later and just got hired again! The 4.95 is worth it, you just have to remember to cancel before the end of the 7 days. For only 5 bucks, I am finally employed again:-)

Used LiveCareer off and on for the last 5 years. Never had problems getting charged beyond what I signed up for. (I just made sure to call and cancel a couple of days before the month was up.)
Main problem - the "experience" section of the resume would often, inexplicably, rearrange the order of my work experience, making it almost impossible to list my job history in chronological order. So beware of this flaw.
