Wish I had visited Sitejabber before I gave out my debit card information. I needed a last minute resume for a class assignment so I googled 'resume templates' and found livecarer. It looked legit so I spent a good 30 minutes putting in my information. NOWHERE does it say that you will have to pay to use the template! Then they make you create an account, and after you've done that they say that you have to pay $4.95 for a seven day trial, but somewhere in the terms and conditions there is a provision that if you don't cancel they will start to charge you $34.95 a month! Who in the h#$% changes jobs so much they need a website to hang onto their resume for frequent updating?! This is definitely a scam model. I called two days after they charged me the $34.95 to find out what was happening, told them to cancel my account and give me a refund, but they wouldn't give me the full amount and said that the refund amount was prorated because of the two days I had. I told them I would write an honestly negative review if I didn't get ALL of my money back and they hung up on me. We'll see if I actually get a partial refund. Either way, this was an awful experience. STAY AWAY!

If you do not cancel we will assume that you are still using our service. Many of our customers continue to use our service for several months during their entire job search.
We would love to offer a completely free service, but in order to maintain the quality, content, and all additional features we offer our customers we do require a contribution of $4.95. As stated with the subscription options, you can cancel anytime by phone, email, or live chat. As long as you cancel within the trail period you will no longer be charged.

THERE IS NO WAY THIS SERVICE COULD WARRANT AN HONEST POSITIVE REVIEW. SEEMSCA LITTLE FISHY TO ME. WHY WOULD SONEONE BOTHER TO WRITE A REVIEW AFTER BEING CHARGED AN ASTRONOMICAL AMOUNT OF MONEY WITHOUT BEING TOLD FOR A VERY BASIC SERVICE THAT REALLY SHOULD BE FREE. Suckesr you in with a nice enough UI, decent experience overall. Extremely buggy resume editing leads to a lot of frustration, but overall it would be very worthwhile as there's a lot of features... except they're GREEDY.
I would be highly inclined to pay for their services if I, a little down the road, wanted to expand on my resume in detail, as I'm sure this would make it easy to alter the layout and feel tailored to individual opportunities. But even just using basic features they want you to pay for the right to print or download. You're going to MAKE me subscribe just to download the file I created on my own, before I can even be sure I'm satisfied with the outcome? Ridiculous. There is absolutely ZERO effective way to use the end product without paying them money, something they would NEVER let you in on before you start. Why you will not allow me even basic use of the end product before I get scammed like others with a sneaky monthly charge
Thanks for wasting my time on a buggy, and in the end, useless product.

This site was such a great help in making my resume. I really didn't know where or how to start writing one but this site had so many great examples that I could just insert directly into my resume to help me figure out what I wanted to say for each section. The price is totally worth it too! Less than $5 and I was able to make a professional resume that really highlighted my skills. I just canceled within the 7 days so I didn't get any additional charges.
FYI on how to cancel your subscription: Just go to your account settings in the top right corner where it says My Account then My Settings... then click on subscription then there is a link to cancel that takes you to a page where you just click a button to cancel. Done! I got an email confirmation right after I did it and I never got charged again.
I've signed up for quite a few "subscription" type things, they are usually legit you just have to remember to CANCEL or it will renew. Like the Amazon Prime trial, or freecreditscore.com - just cancel and they won't charge you again. It's pretty funny how these types of subscription deals have been around for so long and people STILL don't know how they work? It's the 21st century people, get with the program!

I used the "trial" version for 4.95, next thing I knew they charged my credit card $34.95, I called & sopke with a rep named Nichole who stated that automatically I was charged the $34.95, unless I tell them not to continue, when speaking with he, she advised me via online chat that she would cancel the account (I Had aready done this, & asked if she coulndnt see that?) after several HELLOS? She finally gave me a cancellation number but never answered my question, I told her if I am charged another month I WILL REPORT THIS ONE AS FRAUD! BEWARE###############################################

I had to write a CV for a job so i used this website to make it, i paid £1.95 just to download my CV onto my USB stick. Recently i checked my bank i had £60 and i took £25 out. I went to take out another £10 for college but it said i only had £9.97, so i rang my mum and explained the situation and she rang the bank and they said that this company has been taking my money! They willl keep doing this so i had to take all the money out of my account and then block my account and apply for a new one!

I utilized the service for a new resume template. The charge to print was $5. I paid this at that time. They signed me up for a monthly service at $39.80 which I didn't agree to. When I received back to back charges for an August and September fee I contacted them in writing and called. I couldn't speak to a live person just automated tellers. I emailed them and told them to refund my money. They didn't! I received a response from them in email from a rep named Ainess with a ref# which proved to be a joke as they never followed up. I called my bank and they opened a fraud ticket and reimbursed my account but never received a response from LiveCareer. It's October 2nd and guess what happened on Oct 1st, yes, another charge of $39.80 from LiveCareer after I emphatically told them to stop. I emailed them again and no response. I called my bank and they opened another fraud ticket. So, my attorney gets notified today along with the Ohio Attorney General office. Stay away from this site. They have informative info but they're like the "mob", once you are in you can never get out!
Tip for consumers:
Stay away if you value your bank funds.

The lady that helped me Esmeralda Rodrigez was absolutely brilliant, I had worked all night on a CV, my laptop died, when I logged in it was lost, i could not find it anywhere, i had not saved it, I needed it for a job interview I just had, it looks like i got the job but they needed my CV and at waiting, without it id loose this job and Esmeralda got it back in seconds, she got it all back for me, she was so helpful and top customer service, she really did a great thing for me as it was so important to me and I am not even a member yet but will be paying after the service I got from this lady, just fantastic, she deserves a reward

1. I was told I would be contacted prior to review; their system formatted my resume awfully, added skills I never even had on my resume, into 3 skill sections. So the review came back horribly as redundant skillsets.
2. I was told I would be contacted after review, to discuss and make changes after the review by the specific person who reviewed it, with their contact info. When I contacted to discuss my review to the GENERIC email provided with the review, I was told there would be no response as the review is complete.
3. While I appreciate some of the feedback that was given, it was on a resume I was revising all day that day, so done on an incomplete resume. Really? You couldn't just contact me?
The free portion of the site is useful... so upload, revise, download, cancel subscription. The 'free' built-in review is just as useful as the one I paid for for an additional $19.95 (on sale from that $39.80 rate I have seen). Do so in a timely manner, and that first charge is all you will see.
I just really dislike the 'false' info I was given. No personal contact was ever made, it was only ever a generic email for the inbox and a name. I got better input from people outside of this organization.
Of... the review they gave? They need to use better formatting, or spell check. Kind of hard to read.
Tip for consumers:
Worth it, if you upload, revise, do it quickly, use their built in and go cancel - for that FIRST charge. I wouldn't know about ongoing services. The misleading angered me so much I cancelled.
