I used the live career service to quickly make a resume, it looked fine until i downloaded the pdf version. It looked terrible, it was completely different than the preview. Not just different but it looked worse than if I made one with a basic text editor. The font looked like it out came out of a printer from the 80's and all the lines seperating sections were replaced with dots. I've emailed customer service and have not heard back. I have cancelled my account should be set to expire in about 2 weeks. I've noticed that in my accounts section it doesn't allow the user to edit or remove the billing info, which is very odd. I'm a web developer and I'm aware of the thinking that goes into these applications and limiting the users ability to edit billing is most likely their intention. I hope they don't "accidently" bill me for next month.

Don't do it. It's not free. You create your resume, then they make you pay & subscribe to print it. They're counting on you forgetting to cancel your subscription. Which 90% of people do, including myself. $#*! these people, $#*! this company, they should all be thrown in prison for this bull $#*!.

I agree with many other reviewers. The site states that you will be billed $1.95 for a 14 day trial. However, upon signing up I was charged $39.80 immediately. Although the site does say the charges will recur at $9.95 weekly every four weeks they immediately charge the $39.80 and do not refund charges. If you can cancel at any time, the first charge should be refundable and only the initial $1.95 should be charged. This is a scam and not as advertised. No one should be charged $39.80 until AFTER four weeks have passed. I know that I was charged $39.80 before my initial 14 days even expired, never received and never received an email confirming my subscription or the original $39.80. I agree, this is definitely fraudulent billing.

Fraud... be ware... do pay them anything or you will be charged without notice 35 bucks per month. I never even signed up for their site. I only paid one time fee to look at one template then I was charged from them on... I'm so angry at this site. They do not answer their emails, if you call you will be put on a loop and they will not pick up. This company is ridiculous, a recurring charge of $39.80 to my credit card for 5 months. Contact their customer service, would only refund the latest charge.
The worst part is I did not even receive cover letter, resume from their company, this is a FRAUD, Stay away, do not sign on their website.

I was scammed over $350. I know its my fault for not realizing they were charging my card but regardless they are disgusting scammers. They make you pay the $2 trial or whatever it is then without your consent they automatically sign you up for a subscription without you knowing. They are disgusting human being taking advantage of unemployed people trying to better their lives. Karma is a real thing live career, and you guys will get whats coming to you.
Also dont bother replying to this comment saying "sorry to hear this bs" Ive contacted you guys multiple times, you are pathetic disgusting human beings.
EDIT PLEASE READ: The only way you will ever get a refund is by going to your bank and getting them to open an investigation. Live career themselves will not refund you but once your bank gets involved they do.

The issue was resolved in an expeditious, comprehensive manner with the representative being very knowledgeable and courteous.
Do not agree with the automatic renewals as I don't feel it was advertised adequately that the renewal would kick in after free subscription.

I found this site to be very misleading. It advertises as a free resume builder then turns around and charges you to download at the end. Thanks for helping me with my resume, but no thanks for the deception and lie!

What this website does not let you in after the fact that you've created your resume is that they charge you a fee to link you with other hiring companies. I knew right off the bat something wasn't right. Good thing I didn't process my credit card via this website. No one should ever have to pay a fee for creating a resume online, but now I'm even concerned about my personal info leaking out without my authorization even if I've kept my personal information private.

I read a lot of posts complaining about the under handed tactics for this service, not! If you read the agreement it very straight forward. I paid the nominal fee, canceled in 5 days, and for $4.95 made a very good resume. PS I got the job!

Absolute scammers, even if you only pay for a single transaction with them, once they have your card details they will involuntarily opt you into their monthly subscription plan of £13.50 every 28 days and will continually change their vendor i. D to circumvent you stopping payment aurthorisation with your card issuer. When challenged, they deny you have an account with them and then wont respond!
Oh, and they claim, unlawfully, that you automatically agree to their terms and conditions because you visited their website even though they don't make you implicitly aware.
Avoid at all costs unless you like being financially exploited!

Avoid, do not provide payment details under any circumstance!

1 CV and cover letter for £1.45, but was charged £325.45!

I am a single mother of two children trying to graduate nursing school. I used the $1 resume. Which it did not tell me it cost money until I completely finished it. I paid the $1 fee.
Not even two weeks later (14 day trial) my account is charged $40. I try to log into Live Career website and my account shows no membership or resume that I had created. I see I am not the only person who has been scammed. I want my $40 back. Worst part is I paid for My Perfect Interview through my college tuition already and it should have been free from the get go.
Please fix this problem and make it clear for future users. As clearly by your reviews you guys are not putting the prices out there! I will be calling, emailing, and hoping to hear from you soon. If not resolved the local news will be hearing about it.

I used this site to update my old resume and cover letters, and I really believe that my cleaned-up resume helped me land the job I wanted. The samples and templates are helpful as well as the vocabulary features to help you really say what you can do and focus your resume's purpose. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I think that its monthly fee was awfully expensive for a service that you'd really only need when changing jobs and interviewing. When you contact them to cancel, however, they do offer a much lower pricing. Josue was excellent and courteous as well. Really appreciated his help today.

Terrible site. I only signed up for the $1.95 to print the resume. Yesterday they took 34.95 out of my account without my permission. After much haggling they agreed to refund my money minus a $2.56 service charge. What a scam. I will report them to the States Attorney General.
