In a new state and situation I could not get my resume to print. As a last shot I pulled up the sight I used to make the document and could not sign in. I saw the chat option and presented my problem. Benjamin responded to my situation and within seconds I had my resume sent to me in the format I needed. This sight is a blessing for those who have used it for making their resume. Thank you Benjamin and livecareer! Also setting up my resume was user friendly.

This is a total scam. The aim (in theory) is to provide resume templates at a cost which can be completed and downloaded.
The problem is that the site is unstable - the data gets lost and is downloaded in unrecognisable format - which cannot be reformatted nor modified afterwards.
Am absolutely furious for spending so much time inputting information and data only to loose it again.
Stay away - this is a complete waste of money.

Do not use this website! Do not give them any of your financial information!... I wanted to use a template to write a resume and agreed to pay $4.95. It was not even worth the $4.95 as it was not really possible to do with their setup. Then to make it worse they started to take out $34.95 a month from my account saying that it was part of a confirmation e-mail that they sent for the $4.95 transaction. Of course I had not agreed to this but they had my info. So to repeat, do not use them at all. Stay away!

What a scam!
They opened a ticket for my claim of being robbed twice by them, but now that I asked for an email as a proof of my membership cancellation, they can't find me in their system... jajaja this must be a joke!

I was able to create a nice resume and cover letter with LiveCareer that I am very satisfied with. The only thing I was unsatisfied with was corrected by Luis, the phone representative that helped me to cancel and reimburse me for the charges obtained when I was unaware. The need to cancel after the two week or month period should be made more clear.

I took up your trial offer, but have recently found that I have been paying a subscription £22.95 a month since August 2014. As I have just realised this I checked your site and appears you are an American company and I am in England. There are no jobs on your site in England, so why would I need to subscribe to your site. I spoke with an agent on live help to ask how to cancel and when I explained I was in England the agent asked me to be more specific. I seemed to getting nowhere explaining the situation. I found this of no help.

Looking at different websites, I found LiveCareer resume builder, and it was the best help I could have ask for. Very helpful, fast, and convenient.

This site is RIDICULOUS. I paid the initial fee to make my resume. I then noticed that they charged me for an additional month at the rate of $34.95! Who thinks that keeping a resume should cost that much per month! REALLY? $420.00 per year? What a rip off. This company sucks with their customer service. I cancelled one day after I noticed this charge go through for the month of march, and they WON'T REFUND MY MARCH PAYMENT. This company must be so hard for money that they enjoy ripping people off. Well played, scammers... well played.

Dear Brooke,
Thanks for your comments.
The subscription that you paid has a recurring billing feature and you can cancel at any time. Our subscription prices and policies are clearly stated in the details of the subscription underneath each price option, in bullet point form. We automatically send a payment confirmation to the email address you’ve used upon purchase, stating the amount that you’ve paid for and the auto-renewal date. We even provided several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email, and self- cancellation in your Account Settings if service is no longer needed.

Very deceptive! I have always done the 14 day trial when I need to do a resume or update one. The 14 day trial is something like $1.95 for 14 days and then you must cancel within that time frame to not be charged $39.80/month. I canceled via email and after finally catching I've been charged for four months now I call and I was told they have no email on file of me canceling and I will be charged! Total rip off! Stay for from this company unless you like being taken for your money! Never will I use this company again!

They stole a bunch of money, I asked why they said that it was because of an automatic renewal that they claim is clearly posted all over their website. It's definitely not. Wouldn't give my money back. I told them that I would definitely warn people away from their website and that's what i'm doing. Their customer service is condescending and deceitful.

You need to read the fine print very carefully. I unfortunately did not. The site says 'cancel at any time,' not 'cancel at any time but we'll keep all of your money,' which would be a bit more honest. Too bad, it's not a bad site.
Tip for consumers:
Don't sign up for more than one month at a time.

I let my trial lapse and contacted LiveCareer via a chat option on their site. A staff member named Jerickson was incredibly pleasant helpful in providing a solution (refund and a more affordable monthly subscription rate). They could have told me no since it was my fault that the trial lapsed, but that wasn't the case! A+ customer service. I am also very happy with the resume and cover letter that I created with this service. Highly recommend!

Wow Alexis! We really appreciate you taking out the time to share your positive experience with us! It makes us ecstatic to hear that you had such a smooth process and that we were able to help you get the resume and cover letter you wanted! Thank you for the glowing recommendation!
It is a website offer low charge for editing my resume to get my credit card information. Then will automatically charge the card a monthly $39 fee, I did not realize that I need to cancel their service after the trial. They basically offered no service for the monthly fee, just a trap to get the money. Be Aware!
Tip for consumers:
Cancel their service right away.

A friend of mine is in dire straits, so I offered to pay the trial cost of $1.95. She was not happy with the service, and cancelled on the 14th day (a 14-day trial). But, they charged my card that very same day! The 'Live Chat' on their site did not work---it only took me to email. I and my friend emailed, and they provided a telephone number to call, but of the many times I called, each time it was the same thing----a full minute of complete silence, then disconnect! They make it impossible, hoping to charge a 2nd month before you can get any real help! Finally, one day, the Live Chat worked, and the representative only argued with me on how easy and convenient their cancellation methods are! Finally, offered a partial refund, when I said it should be a full refund, as we have been trying to cancel since the 14th day, and were timely, the rep then said they would take back the refund! Are you kidding me? Playing stupid games with me? AVOID THIS COMPANY.

I experienced shocking customer service and their fees are NOT clearly stated. I had no idea I signed up for subscription and when trying to talk to someone on the 'live chat' one of their members of staff closed the chat down while I was explaining the situation. After having to contact my bank and 'live career' over and over again, they decided to charge £22.95 again this morning even though my bank cancelled it for me and reversed the £22.95. And to anyone who wnats/needs to contact them about their account, the number stated at the bottom of their page doesn't even exist. Wouldn't recommend anyone so sign up, as it states you only have to pay £1.95 but what it doesn't state is that you will be charged £22.95 every month after paying £1.95. Too much hassle for such a little problem, when it could have been resolved in one phone call or chat.

I completely agree with all of the extremely poor reviews. Should have read up on this company prior to agreeing to the so called "FREE" account. They are apparently located in Great Britain, so you may also be charged a foreign transaction fee on your credit card. I was able to get half of my money back. They state on the sign up page they bill you $9.95/week every 4 weeks. I had the 14 day"FREE" subscription and was 3 days into the 2nd billable week before I noticed the charge on my credit card. I argued and adamantly complained and insisted on getting my money back. I am being refunded $19.95. Do not ever use this site. It is not worth it!

Hi Lori F.,
I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. Our free account gives you the opportunity to try out our resume builder before deciding to purchase. The ability to print, email, or download your resume and cover letters are features included in our paid subscription and not listed as a feature of the free account. You can download a plain text version of your resume for free. We also explain that the subscription is auto-renewing. We state this on every page in the purchase process and we send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings.
As an international company, LiveCareer processes payments through LiveCareer UK, Ltd. with its offices in London, England. Some banks charge an international transaction fee, even when the charge is in US dollars. These fees are charged by your bank and not LiveCareer. You contact your bank if you have any questions.
The refund that we processed was given as a courtesy.

I love the assistance with my cover letter but I couldn't justify the monthly fee. So I called & spoke to a rep who was beyond helpful with his suggestions and answers to questions about my resume & work history. He even offered to reduce the fee to an affordable amount. He was very patient and kind. I will always be thankful & grateful for his help with my job search approach.

The website is a SCAM. I signed up for the trial and called up to cancel it the next day. I thought everything was fine until I received a $40 bill on my next credit card. When I called up to resolve the issue the customer service I received was extremely rude and did not help me. This website is NOT trustworthy, I feel very taken advantage of. I ended up reporting the incident to my credit card company of fraud, which is a big pain in the neck. Save yourself the headache and find yourself another website.

I attempted to contact LiveCareer after my first negative experience with their services. I requested a refund for my previous charges and asked them to cancel my account. No refund came, but I continued to be charged for their monthly services. Several chats and emails later, the subscription to services I never agreed to continue have finally canceled, but they have not told me they were issuing a refund for any of their charges. They just want your credit card info so they can continue to charge you and they make it incredibly difficult to cancel. STAY AWAY.
