I have been looking for work since April. I felt that maybe it was my cv presentation which was a little basic. I found the site. Spent a couple of hours building a cv and then looked at all the different styles. I also did a covering letter using the same font and design. I sent out 4 cvs only to Solicitors who DID NOT have any vacancies. I got 2 job offers. I can only presume that the professional presentation of my CV caught their eye. I found a job within 2 weeks of enroling on the site and I would recommend that anyone looking to change their career uses this site to create a CV which looks professional and is pleasant to the eye.

According to the reviews on sitejabber and the complaints filed to the Better Business Bureau, this is a very unethical company. If you believe you have been duped by this company, email their CEO:

I cancelled my subscription and deleted my account and was charge double the following month. When speaking with customer service they told me there was no record of me deleting my subscription just my account thus why I was still charged.
No explanation of charging double or why my bank account was still charged.

At the end I had two payments equalling $80.29 within 4 days a month after the subscription was cancelled.

LiveCareer was the exact service I needed and then some. My past resume I would say was not up to par I did not how to convey my skills and experience effectively in a resume related format to get through recruiters. Live Career easy and accessible format was able to solve that problem and also other very beneficial services like custom cover letters that really do add value. I got a ton of interest from the marketplace I got several offers! And did several interviews. I got a renewed sense of confidence in myself and what I bring to the table and was really able to pick and find the right job that was aligned with we're I was trying to go in my career journey. That's exactly what happened I was able to find the perfect job for me and checked all my boxes and I'm very happy and grateful to the LiveCareer organization for the accessible pricing and format and services provided.

The customer service was very professional and fair. I signed up for the 14 day trial and did not cancel in that time frame. So I was billed for 4 months after the trial. The man in customer service was very nice and refunded 3 of the 4 months for me as a courtesy. I did not use the program after the 14 day trial - just forgot to cancel the membership, Cancelling the membership was very simple, just a phone call. I got an email confirmation immediately, along with my refund confirmations for the 3 months. Very good customer service.

When you cancel, be sure to get a Confirmation # and Confirmation email. These p.o.s. Charged me foe 4 months of usage, when I never even knew I had their service (as I had cancelled their service a week into the free 2 week trial). I noticed the charges and called to cancel and get a refund. The first person kept repeating the same info and then hung up on me when he went to get a manager. I called back and the next guy kept telling me I was talking to the right person when I asked for a manager. Absolutely horrendous company...avoid them. There are way better companies to use.

Products used:
I tried their resume builder, my consulting service was way better!

I inquired about wanting to switch my subscription package. There was no wait time on the phone. The customer service was exceptional and helped with everything I needed answered.

As for the website, it was very easy and simple to use. They had helpful hints and tips for you to use on your resume, which helped tremendously.

I'm going to tell all my friends and colleagues to use this website to build their resume as well as the other tools the website offers.

I stumbled upon this web site. You get to choose a template and then you are prompted with a series of fill in the blank statements. I found the process very easy for a computer illiterate like me. I can barely do more than read my email but I found the resume process very easy. I like the opportunity to proof read and correct my entries.

I cancelled my subscription with them almost immediately after signing up as they were not delivering what was promised. Then, to boot, they stole $34.95 out of my account and when I approached them about it they act like they have no idea why I've been charged and say," could it be your other account with us?" First of all, there is no other account and I want my money back NOW! I am unemployed you idiots, that was why I was going to use your service, to prepare and send out resumes to FIND A JOB!

Dear Colleen,

Thank you for your comments.

Many of our customers create more than one account with us, so we asked them for other email that might have been used or the last 4 digits of the card to search further for the account that was charged. We also asked our customers what is the method of cancellation used, because we give multiple ways to cancel, by phone, via chat, email customerservice@livecareer.com and online through Account Settings. If you have successfully cancelled your subscription we automatically send cancellation confirmation for your records.

We would appreciate if you would call our customer service staff at 1-888-816-0576 anytime between the hours of 6am and midnight, Eastern Time. We would very much like to follow up with you so that we may track the issues you are having. We also may be able to offer some helpful information to you.

Thanks, Colleen, and look forward to hearing from you.

I used this a few months ago to type a resume for a job. After I completed the resume I cancelled the subscription. Now for the last two months they have taken $40.00 a month out of my account without my permission.

I have left emails and not heard back from anyone. This company is a joke. I now have to pay my bank to cancel the credit card and issue me a new one so this company wont be able to rip me off any further.

Steve was helpful. I explained that I had forgotten that I signed up and that I was billed twice within a week. I decided well, the first $24.95 charge - which was attempted a couple of times until it finally billed late in the cycle - I'll eat, but the second $24.95 came a little soon thereafter on schedule but messed up my personal cash flow.

Steve got me a refund of the second $24.95 charge, and offered my full access to the site for only $4.95 a month. I will review the site tools to see if it can help me truly find another better paying job. Thanks much to Steve for his help.

Feel like I got scammed. I knew there would be a charge but I did not realize it was $40.00 after 14 days. I could not find that in the fine print. I thought it was 14.99 which would be reasonable. My advice is to cancel right after you use the resume builder. They also charged me $1.19 two days after I cancelled. They said it was an international banking fee but they are based out of San Francisco. Sadly, the resume builder is a good tool. The business practices are shady though so beware.

Also, I was told the price was included in my welcome email. It is not in that email...

Tip for consumers:
Cancel right after you complete your resume'. Don't wait.

Hi Hank D.,

I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. We take pride in providing effective and valuable career, resume and cover letter assistance to hundreds of thousands of people. All of our subscriptions are auto-renewing if not cancelled. We state this on every page in the purchase process and we send payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal upon purchase. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings if service is no longer needed.

As an international company, LiveCareer processes payments from all over the globe through our e-commerce provider located in UK. Some banks charge an international transaction fee, even when the charge is in US dollars. These fees are charged by your bank and not LiveCareer.

As a courtesy, I refunded the full amount of $39.80. You'll see it on your bank statement within 2-3 business days. I have also sent you a confirmation email for your records.

We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We take all feedback very seriously and hope that you will reconsider your star rating and negative review of our site and service. Please contact me again directly if you have any further issues. You can email me at anna.b@livecareer-support.com

As for writing resumes, this template worked well. However, we experienced the same issue the prior reviewer experienced. Printing a resume resulted in recurring charges of $20.55 USD/month. Then, for some reason we were charged an additional $98.26 USD during that time period. We have been charged at total of $180.46 to PRINT a resume. I had a chat conversation with Rosa Arryoyo requesting to be reimbursed for the $98.26. As she repeatedly asked me numerous questions trying to extend a monthly charge, I explained I was late for a meeting and needed to resolve the issue immediately. Again, she persisted with the questions trying to retain my business. I finally had to tell her I had to drop the chat line due to being IN a meeting. She replied that she will reimburse me 1 of the $19.95 fees (not the $98.26 I was duplicate billed) and she had no choice but to close the chat. Disappointing! No choice but to notify the bank of fraudulent charges.

The resume process is okay. However, my account was overcharged. I was never able to get in touch with anyone to fix the error. Then I had numerous charges of less then a dollar show up one day. When I called them, I was never able to speak to anyone. I went online to the "live chat" feature. After 10 minutes a person asked how the could help. After I explained the situation to them the never responded again. Bogus company.

This was a scam site. They charged me 1.99 to view a cover letter then came back and charged me recurring $35.80 per month. There was no confirmation sent and they had my email address. I had to argue with them to get a cancellation and a credit from my credit card company. They suck!

I think that you should make a disclaimer at the beginning that says that "free to build, but must pay to download" incase someone is already certain that they aren't going to buy it before putting in all the effort.

Just talked to customer service at Livecareer.com. The value of the product is good and effective, however I now have a job so I was calling to cancel the service. According to the sales reps: The company stands on a platform as if they give full disclosure, and everything is "clearly stated in the email" but it is a total scam! If it weren't a scam they would just give a refund! I went into my settings, and deleted my account prior to the end of the 14 day trial, yet the $39.80 charge showed up today on my statement--- because they hide the way to cancel under "subscription" tab. What is the difference between the two? If I want to delete my account wouldn't that end my subscription? No, not here. They are charging people based on a technicality and it is CRAP!
I love how in the other reviews ANNA [customer service rep] copy and pastes the same reply to all the poor reviews... It would have been so much easier to just write my own resume, rather than deal with unjust billing of my account.
Worst experience with customer sales reps EVER!

Hi Stefani G.,

I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our site and did not have the best customer service experience. Aside, from the cancellation in your Account Settings, we also offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat and email.

Deleting an account means you will not be able to access any of your resumes, cover letters, or emails. This action cannot be undone. However, cancellation stops the auto-renewal.

Please contact me directly with the last 4 digits of the card that used to purchase and card holder’s name so that I can take a look at it personally and resolve this issue quickly for you. Please email me at anna.b@livecareer-support.com

I look forward to hearing from you.
