I applied fir so many jobs with my old resume and wasn't really having luck... then I joined LiveCareer and got results! After my resume reformat with LiveCareer, I was immediately offer 3 interviews, got offered 3 jobs ( 1 at a Tech school, 1 at the county court & 1 at the Fed Govt) and am happily working today!

All I can say is don't do it! A total Scam, as you can see from the rest of the reviews. Be aware if you don't cancel within the 5 days you have automaticly signed up for the $30 somthing automatic withdrawl from your checking account. Until you catch it. When you call and tell them you had no intention on purchasing their product, they tell you you should have read the terms of their aggreement better. Not what any business that has a quality product would do.

Dear Syl L,
Hi, I work at LiveCareer. I apologize for the misunderstanding. The $4.95 subscription is good for 7 days and we rely on you to cancel whenever you are finished. If you do not cancel we will assume that you are still using our service. Many of our customers continue to use our service for several months during their entire job search.
We assure you LiveCareer operates in accordance with all legal standards. Our subscription prices and policies are clearly stated in the details of the subscription underneath each price option.
If you have any questions regarding your subscription our customer service team is available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free 1-888-816-0576 or through live chat on our site. If you prefer you can send us an email to: customerservice@livecareer.com. We also list our contact information on our "Contact Us" and "About Us" Pages on our site.
Best Regards,
LiveCareer
I'm like everyone else wondering why there's "not a clear statement stating that you will be enrolled and its only a free "trial"... Not only did they charge me once but charged me twice in the same month, same day of the month. A friend referred me to the site. I called her after all was said and done and she didn't realize that she's been charged each month until I called. I am furious... shame on me for thinking since I don't have a job, I could actually get help with a resume to get a job for $1.98. Shame on LIVECAREERS for being DECEIVING and UNTRUSTWORTHY to the public. Shame on our government for letting companies get away with this! Don't use it Don't try it is my suggestion.

Dear San,
Thanks for your comments.
We apologize for the misunderstanding, but what is free on our site is the ability to try out our product to create resumes and cover letters, and to explore our templates, designs and text tuner samples. If you want to print a resume to bring to an interview, email your resume/cover letter, or download a professional looking resume then you do need a subscription. However we do offer the ability to download a FREE Plain Text format.
We take great care in letting our customers know what they are subscribing to. We are very clear that when you subscribe there is an auto-renewing feature for which you can cancel anytime. If the subscription has not been cancelled, a monthly rate will be billed. Aside from these details, we also sent a payment confirmation to the e-mail address you’ve use when you signed up, stating the amount of what you have subscribed for and the date of the auto-renewal.
San, we also make cancelling really easy as we give 4 ways to cancel a subscription if service is no longer be needed: By calling our customer service number at 1-888-816-0576, 17 hours a day, 7 days a week; by live chat, by e-mail at customerservice@livecareer.com, or you can even go to our website, where there is a self-cancellation feature under the “My Account” section.
Please contact us as soon as possible so that we may resolve this issue.
Best regards,
LiveCareer
I lost my job and a resume always looks good to have. I signed up to create my resume. I saw the few dollars for 7 days but NEVER saw almost FORTY dollars if I keep my account! I'm out of job and here people who claim to help are scamming you out of your money. This website isn't worth 40 dollars or anything close.
I NEED MY money back NOW
Tip for consumers:
Don't unless you like being duped

It was facinating seeing how you could use an already completed resume to make it uptodate. But it was very challenging when it was converted into the different resume styles and the bullets didn't align with some of the statements. That was the point of becoming complicated and frustrated.

I built my son a resume and paid the initial fee. I thought I had canceled the subscription for service (according to live career rep. I did not) but realized they billed my card for a $1.19 intl. Service charge and $39.80 for a recurring payment for service. I contacted rep from live career and was told I didn't cancel subscription, the debit from my card was valid and why don't I just take advantage of having their service. I told rep I must have made a mistake and not canceled but if they could help me solve the issue by canceling service and refunding my money. I also told them I have used their site to build my resume, my daughters and sons but since they refuse to give my money back I will not be using their service anymore. My answer was again... the charge to my account was valid and that my subscription will be canceled.
Poor customer service... I was a recurring customer but no more... hopefully I will not be charged again... AVOID THIS SITE!

Let's see if I could rate this zero stars I would. Do not subscribe to this scam they start charging 20 dollars over and over after you subscribe. When I called customer service the lady was nothing but rude and gave me a "one time courtesy" for my money back. I had to actually fight with her and continually ask for a supervisor. She even told me "be quiet you keep talking and talking I don't want to give you your money back" bunch of bull. AGAIN, DON'T SUBSCRIBE TO THEM.

I thought the site was very helpful in writing a resume, Having a format to follow made it much easier. The only problem I had was in signing up for a subscription. When I tried to pay for the subscription your site wouldn't allow me to pay. It wasn't declining my card; instead every time I clicked on "submit" it would return me to the beginning of the payment process and make me start over. I finally called customer service and they accepted my payment over the phone and my subscription was paid. Other than that the site worked well.

Hi Roger M.,
I’m very sorry that you encountered this payment issue. We are glad that we were able to help you with the payment process. We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We wish you the best in your career search.

BEWARE! I just reviewed my bank statement and realized that LiveCareer had charged me almost $40.00. I didn't realize that that was going to be automatically charged and I am very very upset. I had no intention of having an on going membership and was just interested in the trial. I am unemployed at the moment (stay at home mom) and am ready to get back into the work force and can not afford the $40.00 charge, this charge overdrew my account and now I am really screwed. I feel like it was a very sneaky trick that they pulled. Also I didn't even realize it had been 2 weeks since I sign up. Also $40 is not worth the service provided even if I wanted the membership (which I don't) I am very disappointed and now out of money that I couldn't afford. I feel scammed, I would not recommend this site even for the trial. BEWARE
Tip for consumers:
I do not recommend!

Hi Christina M.,
I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. All of our subscriptions are auto-renewing if not cancelled. We state this on every page in the purchase process and we send payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings if service is no longer needed. A monthly subscription makes it easy for our customers to customize the resume and cover letter for each position for which they are applying, and also to avoid interruption on the service
Our record shows that you self-cancelled your subscription 2 days late that is why you’ve been billed. As courtesy, I refunded the $39.80. You'll see it on your bank statement within 2-3 business days. I have also sent you a confirmation email for your records.
We are very committed to providing great customer service and customer satisfaction, and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We take all feedback very seriously. It will be forwarded to our Marketing Team. Please contact me directly if you have any further issues. You can email me at anna.b@livecareer-support.com

I needed this site to draw up a resume for a potential job. Everything sounded great. It was suppose to be "free". So I spent a while tweeking and tuning my resume to my liking and then i was hit with a very modest $3.95 (i think) one time charge to finish the resume at the end. I thought what the heck, it wasnt that much money and i really liked the way the resume looked. So i paid it. What i didnt know was that i was automatically signed up on a monthly plan that would be paid through my visa card. I was charged $45.23 on February 20. I was charged $45.99 on March 20. I was charged $44.94 on April 21. I was charged $44.41 on May 16. And finally, i was charged $44.32 on June 13 for a grand total of $224.32 that this company has taken from me. Did I mention that I very rarely used the website? Maybe one or two times.

As a real technophobe as well as never having to provide a CV before, I was not looking forward to making one. However I should not have been concerned as I was walked through the process step by step. The prompts ensure nothing important is omitted. As a result I was able to upload my CV ( yes, I have learned how to do that too!) and print off for potential employers. I now have a new job and cancelling my subscription has been really easy. I would recommend My Perfect CV to anyone.

Hi Fiona,
Our customer satisfaction is a goal that we take very seriously, it is great to know how pleased you are with how your resume looks now. Our service is designed to be easy to use without compromising quality of the finished product. We appreciate that you share with us that you have a new job!
Thank you for that awesome feedback and We wish you the best with your new job.
You should DESPISE this company. Regardless of the quality of its product this company is SELF-FOCUSED, NOT customer focused. The values of a company speak much louder than its products. If you pay $2 for a 14-day subscription you will automatically be upgraded to $40 if you fail to read the fine print. This is a 20X charge increase! No selfless company would set their customers up this way without their administered approval. Oh, and don't even think about getting your money back! Remember, by not doing business with them and giving your money somewhere else you help bring an end to such INJUSTICE.

I signed up for a 14 day trial for $1.95 and have now been charged over $110! This is complete fraud as I never signed up for a subscription and was never warned before I was charged! DO NOT USE THIS SITE! They also make it almost impossible to cancel your subscription once you do realise that you have been fraudulently charged for months! FRAUD!

I went online to build my Wife a Resume. This is a very user friendly program. I signed up for the $2.95 special for 7 days. Come to find out my account was chaged a week later for $35.95. My Blodd was boiling. I called the number that was on my online bank statement *******430 expecting to be given the bad news of it is too late we have your money. It was so easy to speak with the Lady and tell her I was not aware of another fee coming up. Because I had caught it so soon I was able to get a pro rated amount back of $33.
It was all there in the verbage but was not loud and clear. 4 stars because it is a cool program and they do what they say they are going to do.( Just pay attention to the Fine Print) If you are looking for a Job you need a Reume. If you have no clue how to put one together, you should try Live Career.

The site said "FREE" resume templets but you have to pay to get resume. At no time does it say that you have to pay to get resume until you are done. Technically the templet is free but what good is it if you can't print or save it without paying? I didn't want to pay nor have it re-new automatically.

Hi Julia,
The text version of any resume created can be downloaded free of charge and our 14-day trial comes with a money-back guarantee! Thank you for your feedback!
I was charged the 1.00 amount fee for me to be able to print and share my resue after building. I was excited to see a decent resume builder for a good price. I cancelled my subscription the day after over the phone. A WHOLE MONTH LATER I see that LiveCareer is tying to charge me another $40.00. This is a month AFTER I have cancelled and stopped using te website. Nowhere on the site does it inform customers they will be chargedthe hidden fee after cancelation. This is a complete scam! I am so unpleased. They wait until you no longer expect to see the charge! I will be making sure I get my money refunded but also to make others aware. Watch your bank statements!

Very unprofessional to misuss my credit card details and keep taking money out of my account. I have not receiced an respond to my email in regards of how badly the Resume has been written. They could have at least offered to have another look. I have been writtibg to Amy Gies the Team Leader!

Liars and cheats. I called end of January to cancel my account, they said it was done and cancelled. They still billed me 3 more times! I never used the service once and they still would not refund me. I got 2 charges in March alone! DONT GIVE THEM YOUR CARD INFORMATION, THESE ARE SCAMMERS AND LIARS!
Tip for consumers:
Dont use. Liars and scammers. they will say they cancelled you but will keep billing.

Hello, Marcel.
We’re genuinely sorry if this caused inconvenience for you; we'd like to take this chance to explain that if you did not receive a cancellation confirmation on the month of January via email, that means that your account was never actually canceled or that something might have happened during the whole process.
Our team would love to review your account interaction to see if there's any history of a cancellation attempt that we might have missed.
At your earliest convenience, contact our Customer Service Team, and they will be more than happy to review this for you.

I found this service by looking for similar resumes to help with wording. Then I used the free trial to create my own resume because I was impressed with the examples I found. Once I had the full service I LOVED how helpful and customizable it was to specific opportunities. I wouldn't normally pay for a service where I could do it myself for free - but features offered are just too good to pass up!
Date of experience: June 25, 2020
Thank you, Emilie, for sharing your amazing feedback, we’re excited to hear you feel that way about our resume builder.
Update! :) ---- My initial experience was very unsatisfactory as I requested a refund and was denied my request after I was unable to cancel my account when I initially tried to, however, I was persistent and emailed them back immediately and they did issue me the refund I requested. I would suggest acting on this as immediately as I did however, because this is a legitimate debit from your account. I started the process the very day it came out of my account.
I used the site for a promotion and was happy to pay the single charge for the use of the templates however I couldn't cancel my subscription when I wanted to because "somehow" the buttons wouldn't work and then was charged the renewal fee. When I disputed the fee, I was told it was a valid charge and then magically my subscription was cancelled, What a scam!
Tip for consumers:
I emailed them back after they emailed to tell me they wouldn't refund my money and they did eventually refund my payment. So I at least got my money back.

Hi Bonnie M.,
I’m very sorry if you encountered a cancellation issue and did not get the best customer service experience. We make cancellation really easy. We have it in 4 ways: By phone, chat, email and online through “Account Settings.”
With regard to our free account, it gives you the opportunity to try out our resume builder before deciding to purchase. The ability to print, email, or download your resume and cover letters are features included in our paid subscription and not listed as a feature of the free account. You can download a plain text version of your resume for free.
As a courtesy, I refunded the $39.80. You'll see it on your bank statement within 2-3 business days. I have also sent you a confirmation email for your records.
We are very committed to providing great customer service and customer satisfaction, and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We take all feedback very seriously. Please contact me directly if you have any further issues. You can email me at anna.b@livecareer-support.com

I do not ever recall authorizing payments from them. 10 months later I look on my statement and I have been being charged 54 dollars a month for 10 months! I called and they just stated I agreed to the terms. You will not receive any updates, invoices or future emails so it is extremely easy to be taken advantage of until the next time you question your statement. NEVER EVEN THINK OF USING THIS COMPANY! I'm out almost 600 dollars because of them. Bravo livecareer, bravo.
