This site is for those have never formatted a resume or cover letter. Trust me, you could goggle examples on the web and get the same info. Yes, I too was drawn in by the $1.95 (excuse me, what ended up $2.95) "try us" period. I began this pitiful experience on July 17th, cancelled on july 23rd. On Aug 10th I was charged $35.10. NICE! Live Career. Pat yourself on the back for another vicious scam. What I can't understand is how this company is allowed to continue this... Hopefully my bank dispute can end this. I really don't want to have start a legal action for continue abuse in my account.

I used LiveCareer one time and was willing to pay the small upfront fee of approximately $2.95. Six months later, I discovered that they had charged me $34.95 for the past six months. I had NO idea that this was happening or that I authorized this to be done. After several calls and emails, they refunded four months' worth of charges, but they refused to refund two months' worth. They claimed that they sent me a confirmation email, which they said had the terms, but I have absolutely no record of receiving it, and they were unable to produce a copy of it either. When Anna B. On here says that their terms are clear, she is not being truthful. They are NOT clear. They have a sneaky approach, called gray charging, wherein they bury the notification that they will be charging you additional fees in a plethora of fine print. Poor Anna B, she has got to have one of the most miserable jobs there is. Can you imagine spending your entire day telling people that the earth is flat when EVERYONE knows it isn't!? In my last email, I told LiveCareer that I would be sharing my experience with them on the Internet, and here I am, the first of many reviews I will be posting! And since my local tv news station's consumer protection department recommends also reporting shady sites like LiveCareer to the FTC, I will be doing that as well! The business plan of this company is to deceive people of money, and that's it! Look at the resources they have allotted to deal with the complaints - they have a representative responding to nearly every review posted on the Internet.

If a request for cancellation is made there will be no charges that will be incurred.
Jennifer, an overwhelming majority of our subscribers are aware of the many ways to cancel their subscription, and do so in a timely manner. We are also not quite sure why you would allow a charge that you claim you know nothing about to continue to appear on your banking statement for a full six months without doing further research.

As many others have said, I thought I was paying for 14 days at 3.95 and that was it. I didn't see the fine print that it doesn't end it charges 34.95 with no notifications to your email after the initial 3.95. I am sorry to say, I thought it was a professional cost for my spouse (didn't recognize it) for several months before I realized what was happening. Tried to ask for refund(since I never went back on the site) of course they did not. So $140 for 1 page barely useable résumé and I am sick over the scam I just was a part of. (Oh and there is a foreign transaction charge so I am assuming this is an Indian site or some othe 3rd world country with no BBB consumer advocate to try and police the ripoff companies)

What the others have said is true, the resume builder on their site seems to work okay (not great, but okay), but when you download to your computer, the document is completely different looking and not suitable for use. STAY CLEAR OF THIS RIP-OFF!

I am a single mom, fighting cancer, and desperately needed a job. I used their services for ONE DAY - (then cancelled the contract with them - per the terms of the contract) and they STILL KEEP TAKING MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT! This service steals your information, keeps uploading your resume in different forms, you contact support and nothing is resolved or is taken down and then posted at a later time. IF you DO NOT WANT your personal information displayed I highly recommend that you do not use this service as your private information will be posted and top of any google search regardless of whether your account was private or set to not display said information to the public. I have contacted and worked with support countless times, but without any real care or attention to the serious issue at hand. DO NOT USE THEM!

I was not informed that a fee was involved prior to completing the resume. Not happy that I wasn't informed regardless of the cost. I thought I was choosing a free site. I wish I had done my research before using this company. I purchased a resume for $1.95 and was charged a subscription fee of $40.00 of which I never wanted! I tried to cancel the membership and their customer service is RIDICULOUS! They cancelled the membership for me and told me that I wouldn't be charged any additional charges but that they would not credit me anything! I do not need the membership nor do I want it! This place is such a RIPOFF! I am DISGUSTED!

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They will charge you for a service you don't even sign up for.
