I think I managed to write my resume on this site without paying, and submit it for review... and got back many requests to buy the full review to tell me how wrong the resume is to help me buy the service to improve my resume. I did not buy ANY upgrades or extra services. So that was good. I think I did not spend ANY money. BUT THEN I googled one of my projects... and my resume came up! Here! On LiveCareer.com site! WIthout my name, but everything else (including my ZIP code, my wording, my job titles, my employers and clients, etc. etc. CLEARLY MY RESUME AND EASY TO CROSS-CHECK ON ANYTHING ON THE INTERNET. Argh! I felt like this was a lot less privacy than other sites like LinkedIn (where I control my privacy) and also Indeed (where my resume is available only to those looking for it, not everybody). So I went to customer service to chat to ask for my resume to be taken down. They said it will happen in a few days... no confirmation #, no email to be sent before or after :( So how do I know it will happen? Sadly, I don't. I don't trust this company and wouldn't trust them if they swore they were lying. But at least I have't lost $ yet.

If you are searching for a one time resume or even a way to build your resume I would steer WAY clear of this company. I have never experienced a more shady company when it comes to their costumer values. The website says free, and then once you have your entire resume built and you need it in five minutes for a college class then you find out you must pay $2 to even print off your resume. That is not a big deal because whatever its only 2 bucks. But then you go on with your life and you get a FORTY DOLLAR charge to your debit card. FORTY DOLLARS. I don't care what you claim you are doing for me, $40 is ridiculous. Secondly, when you realize this and immediately contact them saying you have never used and don't intend on using their services, they send you a copy and paste pre-written script responses combating every email you send them talking about how they have "every right to charge you." They have scripts for how to tell off unhappy costumers!? On top of this they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee which they obviously don't follow through with because otherwise they would be broke. They didn't even let me speak to their supervisor because "we clearly state in the contract that if you want the $40 service to check this box and we mention several times." If that were true then the box had to have been checked automatically in the first place and the text clearly had to be microscopic. So basically this company will find a way to take your weeks worth of grocery money and keep it to themselves. Terrible company practices. Based on the numerous bad reviews online I can tell you guys feel the same way.
Tip for consumers:
If you don't want to pay $40 a month and have to deal with the headache of speaking to these people I wouldn't even click on their site. I'm sure they would find some way to justify charging you a dollar a click with the way they do business.

I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. Our free account gives you the opportunity to try out our resume builder before deciding to purchase. The ability to print, email, or download your resume and cover letters are features included in our paid subscription and not listed as a feature of the free account. You can download a plain text version of your resume for free.
We also explain that the subscription is auto-renewing if not cancelled. We state this on every page in the purchase process and we send payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings if service is no longer needed.
Our record shows that the previous representative processed a refund in the amount of $39.80 on December 10 as a courtesy credit. You'll see it on your bank statement within 2-3 business days. An email confirmation has already been sent to you for your records.
We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience.
