I purchased car wash coupons and when I went to use them the car wash would not accept them. Tried to contact customer support via the phone number given and all I could do is leave a message with my email address. No joy with these guys. Beware!
I purchased a voucher in April for a restaurant that "temporarily closed" in May. The voucher expired on August 7th. I contacted LV prior to the date and the representative fed me lies about having spoken to the merchant. When I asked her. "Jackie," for the number she used to speak to the merchant, since all I keep getting is a recording, she refused. Bottom line--credit was refused. I have been using LF vouchers for years but will no longer be buying them. Too much better competition out there to be dealing with a company that has no integrity.
I will not be buying on localflavor again
They 1) sell vouchers for restaurant that has closed
2) do not respond to customer service emails(they stopped taking phone calls fully)
How can one do business with this shady business model even if it saves some $
Infact based on value of lost vouchers one may not make any benefit at all
I have used the Local Flavor many times over the years. It worked most times, except three occasions. Two times were restaurants were out of business. One was ownership change. I emailed the company about the situation. They refunded the purchase costs in three occasions.
I learned in the process that caution is needed to use the coupons. You need to call restaurants before hand and mention the coupons. At least you need to present the coupon before ordering. You are protected from situations that owners refuse to take the coupons for whatever the reasons.
In general, Local Flavor is a reputable business.
I purchased a Local Flavor voucher but didn't use it until the promotional value ($30) had expired. The paid value ($15) is supposed to be valid for another 5 years. The restaurant refused to honor it and Local Flavor said they are not responsible. Local Flavor is not to be trusted. The restaurant, unfortunately, lost my business forever due to a shortsighted decision.
Local Flavor seems to have appeared in Birmingham and I am guessing they will disappear just a quick as they appeared. I foolishly bought 8 deals for several establishments. The establishments acknowledge the deals but say they have no idea how to redeem them and Local Flavor appears to provide no support. Twice I have tried to redeem the deals and each time the merchant cannot use it even though they tried. I have serious concerns about this company and feel stupid for getting conned into buying so many deals.
I totally agree with previous posts. Company regularly defrauds/scams its patrons. Tells them no refunds when company go OB or sell to their brother. Offers slimy onsite credit with diminished value. Lawyers: this company ripe for the picking due to their fraudlulent schemes and artifices-get that class action suit going as they violate fundamental fiduciary rules and the laws of most states. Zero stars
I purchased many restaurant certificates with a 6 month shelf life. Two weeks later Illinois closed all inside dine restaurants because of covid. They did not reopen until 6/26 so I lost 2 - 3 months to redeem. I have asked for a 60 day extension, but was declined. Fraud and false advertusing
Accidentally marked my voucher redeemed when trying to validate it by phone. Support would do NOTHING to help me said it was on the business to request a reversal. Business tried 5 times to contact the support team NO ANSWER! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH LOCAL FLAVOR!
These folks service is horrible. There is a customer service phone number that they never answer. If you email an issue, per policy they will get back with you within 48hrs... not true more like a week. They totally ignore your issue and go straight to the script email they send out whether it pertains to your issue or not. So not worth dealing with.
Answer: Unfortunately it looks like their customer support is shut down or closed with no answers. I had to go to my bank to reject the transaction and get my bank to refund our money for the invalid certificates.
Answer: The number they have is bs as the whole company is. Most merchants say they were tricked and claim they get nothing. This is why merchants often are refusing these vouchers also. Have fun trying to get refund on anything. They were decent early in but not now. Stay clear of anything with these guys...
