My husband and I went to use a certificate for The Gourmet at Kenilworth.
When the server came over, I told him I had seen Fish and Chips on their website, but I could not seem to locate it on the menu. He simply took the menu, pointed to the left bottom corner, said it was there, and it was $17.00 - so we ordered two.
Imagine our surprise when the server told us that the restaurant denied the certificate because we did not order an entree. I was shocked that because Fish and Chips at $17.00 was not listed under Entree but Light Fare, they would not honor the certificate. I am sorry, I think paying $17.00 is an entree price. I agree that I missed For Entrée Only, but I thought we were ordering an entree
When we sent a message to Local Flavor, the denied our request for a refund or another certificate to use somewhere else. I wrote again and this was their response:
"While we hear your frustration understand this information (For Entrée's Only) is not only part of the certificate language that you failed to read it is part of the fine print language on the deal before even purchasing as well.
We understand that You feel "Fish and Chips' Should be an entree however it is indeed a light Fare in this establishment and we have no say over that!" While we are sorry to see you go we are happy to obliged an account closure if you indeed no longer want this account." So much for customer service.
Needless to say, I have closed my account at Local Flavor.
When we went to use the coupon one day after the purchase the merchant wouldnot honor it. He said he would give us a discount of what we paid but notthe coupon value. Problem was we had already ordered so didn't have many options. When we contacted LF said too bad you should not have let them use it. They said they could not discuss the issue because of client privacy. BS... do not know whether the local subway in York or local flavor was at fault but will never use either again. Now I read all the negative reviews.
I had purchased 2 certificates to a local restaurant. With Covid they said they were extending the expiration date and I should go and reprint with the new expiration date of December 2020. I went to the restaurant and used 1 of the certificates and only received HALF value instead of the full value per updated date.
I have tried calling Local Flavor and just get a voice mail to email support.
They are hiding behind Covid to rip people off.
So I sent an email explaining in detail the issue.
And I get this long email basically saying I am out of luck, go fly a kite.
This is how they treat loyal customers who have spent thousands with them.
So I would recommend to any one thinking of using them, DON'T!
Bought vouchers and could not get legitimate refunds.
Filed a complaint with the State of Maryland mediation, that failed, but it got them on the Attorney General's watchlist.
Got all my money back through AMEX charge dispute.
If anything goes wrong, there's no one to contact. Waited on hold for 45 minutes and then it went to voice mail. Every time I call back it goes right to voicemail. I have 2 certificates and the restaurant is out of business. No way to get my money back
I had a 10$ credit on the site, so I put that into my purchase of a 15$ certificate. When I was checking out the site said 5$ would come off my debit card and 10$ would be applied from my credits, so I checked out. I used the certificate and then a few days later the company charged me the whole 15$. They told me they could not refund the 10$ even though I clearly had the credits on the site, and explained to me how it is my fault, that I must have used the credits wrong. Considering there is a button that you press that says to add all of your credits, to the purchase I am baffled that they think I could have gotten this process wrong. Keep your site credits, I will never use this company again.
This week I attempted to redeem a Local Flavor certificate at Jo Jo's Italian Grille in Pleasantville, NJ. They refused and were very rude. The manager stated they were not honoring them anymore. I was also denied a refund from Local Flavor. Buyer beware of Local Flavor. In addition you cannot reach them at their call center. No one is available and you get a permanent recording. Bad customer service.
I purchased a certificate for a restaurant called Thai Chili in Atlanta. The restaurant owner refused to accept the certificate because he told me he was a new owner.
I contact Local Flavor and they gave me a credit. I purchased another certificate for a restaurant called NOVA. The problem was that they issued me a certificate that was already marked as REDEEMED. I tried to use it last night and discovered this. I have never been to this restaurant before.
I tried through multiple means to talk with someone from Local Flavor. I finally talked with someone today and she told me that the VENDOR of NOVA redeemed my certificate shortly after I purchased it. She said that this vendor is known to do this and they have a record of this, but they would still not refund my money. She said I have to go back to the vendor and ask him to reverse his redemption of my certificate that I purchased. Unbelievable.
I lost $140.00 sent several e-mails explaining why the merchants would not take my coupons CS did not do anything the reply I received from them did not work emailed them back and they did not do anything, yes I would be interested in trying to get my money back.

I had to close my business because I had to move when my husband got a job in another state. They told me I had to pay for the refunds of the remaining vouchers even though the business, an LLC, was legally dissolved. Local flavor is a scam and they are false advertisers. They are greedy.
Answer: Unfortunately it looks like their customer support is shut down or closed with no answers. I had to go to my bank to reject the transaction and get my bank to refund our money for the invalid certificates.
Answer: The number they have is bs as the whole company is. Most merchants say they were tricked and claim they get nothing. This is why merchants often are refusing these vouchers also. Have fun trying to get refund on anything. They were decent early in but not now. Stay clear of anything with these guys...
