“This site is incredible”

This site is incredible. I use it all the time to access my computer at home from work. Never had issues. It's fast and reliable. They also provide really good apps for android and iphone. Highly recommend.

“Will not pra-rate cancellation”

10 months are remaining on my year-subscription. Unlike most services, LogMeIn will not refund the next 10 months that we will not be using the subscription. Customer for many years. Clunky software and the service is even worse. Hung up on me the first time that I called to cancel.

I've been a customer with LogMeIn for ten years. I use the Central product with 500 computers. I found it had several good and bad points, I'll leave it to you to decide how important they are:

Benefits: Performance is excellent.
I highly recommend using the LogMeIn Client as it makes the process even faster to connect.
Good search features, and great remote troubleshooting features (safe mode reboot, multi-screen support)

Deficits:

Installation is laborious, over a dozen steps, compared with two for my new provider splashtop.
Pricing increases by $500-$600 each year for the last three years. Now that it's reached $2000 I decided to switch to something new doing the same for $400.
Surprise renewal requirement. With less than 24 hours notice I was told renew or cancel, I had a paid subscription still valid for two weeks when the notice came.
Early termination. Despite having two days left in my paid subscription my service was terminated two days early, right in the midst of my transition.

We used Jive, or OnJive for years for our VOIP service and it was fantastic. Then LogMeIn bought them out and now the service is useless, wait times to talk to an agent are over 30 mins and the tech support SUCKS

Stay away from any of their owned services. They dont care about you or your business.

It seemed harmless at first. It worked. But then I stopped using it. It still opened on launch even tho I set the setting to not open at launch. I didn't think too much of it since a couple other apps had the same problem. It's not like other apps tho. It got worse. It now opens at launch and reopens itself when you close it. It also SITS IN FRONT OF ALL OTHER APPS. You cannot minimize it. You can put it in the corner, put in on another page, but that's the best you can do. It refuses to close, OR LET YOU UNINSTALL IT. This is the tell tale sign of malware. I will have to take it in or purchase a program online to get rid of it. Save yourself the trouble and never install it.

I made the mistake of calling the pop up when it said, YOU HAVE A VIRUS ON YOUR COMPUTER. PLEASE CALL THIS 855 NUMBER. DON'T SHUT OFF OR LOG OFF OR ALL YOUR INFORMATION ON THE COMPUTER WILL BE LOST. That is a lie. They told me they are part of Microsoft, I called Microsoft afterwards & they said this company is not on their list but it was too late. They claim they clean my computer but my computer is worst then before cause there wasn't anything wrong with it in the first place. Just wasted $100 for nothing. Now I have to hire another tech support co. To clean up their mess & worry about whether they are doing something to my computer. Please don't for this scam like me. No one there is English speaking so hard to understand too.

This used to be a good company with a good product for a good price. Now the product is bloated, the company sucks and the prices are horrific. 3 years in a row I have had auto renew turned off and three years in a row they increase the price and auto bill me anyway. What cost $399 a few years ago is now over $7000. Considering it is hardly in use, it is ridiculously expensive. What is the worst is that they dramatically increase their prices with little notice (or none) and then claim you were on autobill. Well, i have it in writing that I wasn't. Within 72 hours we will be completely off of this product. Buh Bye LMI. I hope your stock tanks!

The service works ok, hence the 2 stars. But they automatically put you on annual autopay, then refuse any refund if you want to cancel sooner. They claim to have sent an email to me notifying me of a renewal last April, but I just verified that I never received any such email. So they have charged me their full, expensive annual fee without notifying me, and now less than 6 months after the renewal date, they will not issue even a partial refund for the remaining time. I don't even use the service, and I just want to cancel... but I have to continue paying for ~7 more months. Also, they have no way of cancelling or changing autopay settings on their site; you have to call them and wait on hold to talk to somebody in order to make any billing changes. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was given the runaround and then put on hold for 20-30 minutes before I finally got a supervisor on the phone who was not willing to help. Very archaic and short-sighted approach to customer care if you ask me.

Chrome remote desktop is free, easier to use, and doesn't use 'gotcha' billing tactics.

My account was accessed illegally like so many others with LOGMEIN yet they continue to lie dispute the yhousa d's of others like me who've had their info LEAKED and accounts hacked directly because of LOGMEIN. I contacted the to permanently delete my account and they have the audacity to send me an email (the one they have ON FILE btw) saying please send us ANOTHER confirmation to delete account. THEN THEY TELL ME THEY DON'T HAVE THAT EMAIL, WELL HOW DID YOU CONTACT ME. The incompetence is rampant at LOGMEIN. They have zero security and they've had massive data breaches. 3 days later they still have not deleted my account and I have contacted them several times to no avail. This company is a horror show. AVOID at all costs.

Horrible company; had GOTOMYPC for years, never got hacked - less than 24 hours after installation I started getting hacking notices and eventially one got in, killed two computers, still have trouble - tried to tell them I was getting hacking they kept saying change your passwords, kept doing it. Then tried to cancel and have myself removed with refund - they refused -said outside time limite - now says its their policy and my IT agreed to it when he clicked I Accept - beware fraudulent company, disrespectful, dishonest, horrible service and dangerous - somebody's got their customer base for hacking.

I just found out that all of my documents that were on my Cubby account for many, many years are now gone thanks to LogMeIn! They decided they were not getting enough money from Cubby so simply discontinued the app with a shameful excuse for a warning to it's users. I did not receive an email and the representative for LogMeIn talked about how his dogs lab results were sent to his junk mail so he didn't get them? Is this supposed to make me feel better? So basically admit to the fact that your terrible company may have sent important notices via spam mail and if you didn't get them oh well? Unbelievable and yet I'm still without all of my files. I think they should be sued for misrepresentation of their claim to keep files safe. If you are going to take over a company completely have a better way to notify users of this instead of a spam mail! I'm sick over this and their representatives basically not caring at all. Of couse they would not care unless it happens to them. Unscrupulous business practices and the BBB should allow better options for such a subject to file a complaint. This should be considered criminal!

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD TO THESE BANDITS!
Tried their software. Didn't work.
Tried to cancel subscription, but there is NO OPTION to do this when you are logged in. Had to use google to find out how to cancel. Turns out you have to CALL them. Had to call from Europe to USA (god knows how much that cost), just to stop this.

I had a LogMeIn account for $69.95. After 2 years, they took out $70 on the auto renewal. On the next auto renewal, they took out $149 - they did this with no notification and no authorization. I called my bank (Citibank) and they credited it back to my account. Then Citibank went to LogMeIn to find out if it was fraud. LogMeIn challenged it and said they have the right to auto renew since they have the account number. Citibank then reversed the credit and recharged my account. And, there are no refunds from LogMeIn once a charge has been made. THERE OUGHT TO BE A LAW AGAINST A COMPANY BEING ABLE TO CHARGE MORE THAN THE AMOUNT SIGNED UP FOR. Looking online there are others who have had the same experience - some being charged up to $900!

I initially signed up for a couple of GoToMeeting seats and Open Voice and their reps were great about signing you up. About 6 months later I went to add more open voice seats and saw that instead of the 12 month billing cycle they signed me up for 16 months. I immediately asked them to change this and they were non-responsive to my requests. I called and emailed the representative that signed me up and he never returned calls or emails. No one could tell me why it was now a 16 month cycle, nor could they change it to an annual cycle. I ended up having to jump through hoops to cancel the additional seats (which took 3 months) so in the end I wasn't saving too much money because it would still sign me up for another 12 months. My next issue was that Open Voice stopped generating the automatic reports. I called the support line and they told me it would take 3-5 days to look into this and fix it. I called back over a week later and they still haven't figured it out. They said they would escalate this but they wouldn't put me in touch with anyone that could help, nor would they call me back. I have spent more hours trying to get support from this company this year than anyone should. They are happy to take your money and they are happy to provide AWFUL support. I am currently looking for another company to give my business to.

I tried logmein for 2 weeks and after I attempted to uninstall it, it left remnants of its bytes in my computer. I could not delete "logmein speakers" from my mac. And the most frightening part was that the speakers were picking up noise/voices at ALL times. Then my computer became very slow, pop up windows, and the worst thing ever... my email was hacked. I changed my passwords 4x but to no avail. I had to bring my mac to the apple store and they were able to remove the numerous malware. Additionally, they had a really difficult time finding the "logmein speakers" but they finally found it. We had to go into sub-applications just to find this pesky remnant of logmein. They also found other remnants but EVERYTHING was finally deleted. I had to change ALL my passwords for every online account. I truly think I was hacked by them or someone who hacked them. Today, I received an email indicating that my "logmein" account was accessed from Moscow, Russia. I deleted that account so how did that happen? In any event, DON'T use this service or if you do, please be careful.

If you're into providing remote assistance, then use another software. LogMeIn has very poor support, they bill you and bind you into paying them, when issues arise they give you a run around. When you want to cancel, they send you the terms that you cannot cancel. I've been speaking to Steven | Technical Support Rep who sends me one email in two days, and actually repeats the same thing i've been telling him for days.

1. This software isn't trusted by most Macs, and LogMeIn doesn't wants to put efforts into sorting it out, many less tech savvy users are afraid of running it when they see the prompts telling them that the software is downloaded from the internet, and isn't trusted.

2. Older Mac's aren't compatible with this software.

3. There timers sucks, when a less tech savvy users download the software and if the user has taken a while to run it, the support session expires and if you do not click the link within 5 minutes the link expires.

I decided not to use this software anymore, because i have to spend like 20-30 minutes to the user explaining what the software is, and then instructing further how to run it, and if it expires then i have to re-do the new links.

If the user mistakenly runs two instances of this crap, then the PC keeps rebooting.

Don't buy this software.

Logmein is a giant scam that will take advantage of its clients and charges extortionate prices for simple basic remote desktop services. They will continuously increase their subscriptions fees without notice year on year with the hopes you do not notice. There are much better value software companies and programs that can be used. Save your money! Do not use this company!

Example of how they have been increasing prices without any consent! Over the years. You can get alot cheaper, better, and reliable companies for your IT needs. Search up the freeware programs currently available on the market. Do not fall into this scam!

Desktop and Iphone app did work. But I don't use anymore, requested a prorated refund and to cancel subscription for the rest of the year, they refused. Agreed to not auto-renew NEXT YEAR as I have already paid for the year but I am very angry that they wouldn't cancel subscription immediately and that I am basically paying for service I am not using.

If you choose www.lgomein.com as a software supplier, you are entering into a contract with annual automatic-rebill and no contract end point. It's a bad situation for the user if things change and you no longer need the service.

No advanced notice of each auto-rebill, means no oppty to cancel. They charge cc of record for a full year in advance and by the time you get the cc bill you can't do anything about it even if your company is closed and inactive.

Ethical companies send a 30-day advance notice of renewal before making the change.
Since logmein does not portion the fee, even if you cancel immediately, you owe the full year... it's too late. Magazine subscriptions are better than this.

Bad deal; bad practice. Tell your employees they cannot enter an open ended rebill agreement and then go find an ethical supplier for your software. Logmein supervisor Alisa L. Refused to credit the charge even though the account showed inactive... so we made a true effort. It's too bad because their software worked well.
