“Really the best website of it's kind right now”

Travis M.

Really the best website of it's kind right now. The site is easy to navigate and the mapping feature is very helpful when we're trying to zero in on very specific area. The full access is a little pricey at $90 a month

Caveat emptor. Your signing on to an evergreen automatic renewal contract. Evergreen for Costar, like a bad marriage for you.

I had called to cancel the listing services. I was told by the rep that it's been taken care of and I won't be charged any further.
3 months later, they are still withdrawing money from my account illegally. I spoke to my account rep and he assured it was an error. Got a call back from one of the manager that there would be no refund because they heard the call recording- All lies because I had a coworker sitting next to me when I had made the call and he remembers the whole conversation.
Scammers at the best.

They lie and deceive you. They told me 3 months would cost 118 dollars a month or annually would cost less. I agreed for 3 months and paid higher
Price. They charged my credit card for 6 months and when I catch them stealing, they told me they could cancel my subscription but would not credit me back. You should put your alarm to cancel your membership right at 90 days otherwise they would charge you forever.

LoopNet cut me off from the website, literally. I can't even see their main first level home web page.

I bought 3 months premium listing as a seller for our property in New York, USA.

They kept charging me after three months, even though I can no longer even see my account, can't see what they are doing and have NO CONTROL over renewal or not.

Whatever you do, never give LoopNet your credit card number.

Terrible customer service. I spoke to a manager for cancellation. They said they would cancel my membership and I would receive an email confirmation. No cancellation was ever noted. I was billed again. Called LoopNet again. I was told the manager I spoke to could not cancel my membership and I could cancel but would still be billed for the next 6 months. The new manager could not care less about what the other manager said. She could not care less if she kept my business or if I was pleased with the service I received. Stay away.

I got an email my account was confirmed to be cancelled. I instantly wrote in saying there must be a mistake and to undo it. I called multiple times over a 45 days all they said was "we will look into and call you back" THEY NEVER DID. Escalate to manager who also NEVER CALLED BACK. In then end they wouldn't stop the cancellation and now want 4x the price to restart account. What a scam company. Previous employee who was my rep agreed they have intentional rip off policies. Company took a bad turn after costar bought them. Lost lots of tools and useful functionality, reps lost abilities, now this bull$#*!. I'm done. Not worth the frustration.

Signed up for a one year plan when I had a listing. The property was sold in 3 months. When I was about to update the status to sold on the site, only to find out loopnet removed it without my concent. Even with a sold listing, there is still some sort of marketing value. They refused to stop charging me $99/month, but I am paying that for nothing. I wouldn't have a problem of paying $99/month for a sold listing because that's what I signed up for, but charging people for doing nothing is a ridiculous. I don't think there is any language telling me that loopnet can remove the listing without my consent and I would still be on the hook for the whole contract.

I made few changes on my LoopNet listing and it's no longer shown on the LoopNet any more, said it's only visible at CoStar where you cannot even search and see the listings before you contact their sales reps. Emails were sent to the marketing advisor, CoStar and LoopNet help desks few days ago, but no one ever got back to me yet. I'm paying more than $100 a month for this ridiculous website and it's definitely not worth it.

No measurable results after more than a year. The few recommendations no answers. Salespeople talk a good line, but the product certainly did not work as we expected. We generated approximately 0 leads. What's worse, when i tried to cancell i was not instructed waht to do, and with busy lifes and do not following up they continue charging. Finally the representant have the courteus to let me know what to do after months of cancelling thinking that was enough doing it with the person that was representing you. Look like this person only was interested for the payment. Deserve 0 stars. Stay away from this company

Loopnet expects the customer (YOU) to monitor your own ads before every 75 days (ha ha) or it will be deactivated while you still pay money every month. If you call to get help from their agent they will repeat themselves over and over and try to disway from speaking to a manager. Then when you cancel your account, they will bill you for 2 more months. Ha ha. Then you have to make sure they do this. Hah ha ha ha.

Property owners: buyers are NOT going to pay to look at your listings, if you want to sell your property use another site and NOT Loopnet ripe off. You will get more views from other sites. Loopnet is just a money grubbing company, just ask your prospective customers if they want to PAY to look ( answer NO) remember they already pay the commission to buy the property.

Loopnet has auto-renewed my listing WITHOUT MY PERMISSION and continues to charge my credit card, and the listing has been sold via MLS. This is FRAUD and needs to STOP! Brokers BEWARE, you may think they're making it convenient by setting up auto-pay, but they will take advantage, and will NOT allow you to cancel your "subscription," even after notifying them. I've been advertising for over 2 years and my contract was completely fulfilled after year 1, yet they claimed that I am set to "AUTO-RENEW" every year and must continue paying. They continue charging me for a listing that is NO longer for sale, and for a service that I NO longer want. Since PoopNet wants to keep billing me, I hope they enjoy the TOILET pic that's set as the primary photo.

Tip for consumers:
LoopNet needs to discuss their subscription & auto-renew policies with their clients annually. Prior written authorizations & signatures must be obtained. Giving notice to cancel services, once obligations have been fulfilled is normal in any business. With real estate, properties are always being listed and sold. You can NOT assume that a broker will need to auto-renew their subscription ever, because they may not have that property available anymore.

Costar ruined loopnet. Thier own product was Costar was crap so they purchased loopnet to remove their only competitor. The software desighners that work at costar redid loopnet to make it as usless as costar. I wish realtors would band together and sue costar for having a monopoly and charging us good money for a bad product

I am a small business owner and chose to advertise my business for sale on Loopnet. The listing process was a tad difficult and must be finalized with a call from an advisor prior to it going live. During the call they encouraged my husband to upgrade but we chose not to. Once it was listed I immediately started getting calls from CoStar, their sister company, asking me to list there because Loopnet was really just for property. I asked why this wasn't discussed with us when the advisor called trying to get us to upgrade but didn't really get a response other than we would get better results if we listed on CoStar as well. They called three times a month for the next few months. I finally decided to cancel the listing partially because of what the advisor said and because it wasn't getting much traffic. I thought I had signed up for a month to month plan but was told it was a yearly plan, which my receipt confirmed. Although, I had no intention of signing up for a year. I emailed about seeing if they would consider letting me out of the contract. They said they only offered quarterly or yearly subscriptions. I asked if I could be downgraded to quarterly, pay the difference and be done but they were unwilling to do so. Its frustrating that they were willing to take my money knowing I was selling my business, not just the land, then call once I was locked in to say I should have chosen CoStar because Loopnet wasn't really going to do much for a business sell. Then to refuse to refund me when I decide to cancel knowing I am on the wrong site.

Beware! Website content is usually outdated especially for Multi-Family properties. Brokers use this website as a last resort. I found very little use for this website.

Dealing with Loopnet feels a lot like getting mugged.

(1) The customer service is horrible - it's not the reps' fault, they're usually pretty nice (you can tell they feel sorry for the customers due to LoopNet's horrific billing practices), but a lot of LoopNet's policies are designed to swindle their consumers.

(2) If you dispute a charge on your credit card, they send their legal team after you and your credit card company.

(3) If you miss the cancellation cutoff point by even a second, you are locked in for another year... having to pay upwards of $5,000 to $6,000 per year, all without the ability to cancel or contest the charges without having to face their legal team.

(4) Once upon a time, LoopNet was a fantastic company offering valued services at a reasonable price. After they were acquired by CoStar, these hostile billing practices will NOT FAIL to leave a bad taste in your mouth. PERMANENTLY.

I'd like to say that CoStar is most likely also a horrible company (going by LoopNet's newly hostile attitude), but I've never bothered to find out... I can't bring myself to subscribe to CoStar's services after this ongoing horrific experience with LoopNet that my company and I were forced to endure for two years.

LoopNet is the worst real estate and/or web company that I, or any of my co-workers and colleagues, have ever had to deal with. Please save yourselves the trouble.

This appears to be a classic bait and switch operation. Before I signed up as a free viewer I had no trouble seeing all of their listings. Once I signed up they put a lockbox symbol on almost all of their listings in all locations, telling me that I would need to pay them to view most listings. Before I listed a property, I was told it was a free listing that I could upgrade; after I listed a property the only option to have anyone see it mysteriously seemed to be to pay over $3000 (the property I listed was for $79,000). A 40 minute phone call from "Jon" at LoopNet alerted me to a special price of about $400 for three months listing; his final offer was around $250 for a 3-month listing. When I asked him to send it to in writing, he alerted me to the need to call him for the offer because it was a "commission" sale not otherwise available. The truth is that no one other than me can see my listing - their phantom 2% claim appears totally bogus - unless me, myself and I represent 2% of their viewers (which may in fact be the case).

Most of the commercial properties that are beautifully posted have been off market for months. If you value your time, I would not waste it by searching through their listings.

I signed up for their lowest plan possible. I requested cancelation on 8/24. I needed to change the payment to the correct credit card. They charged me anyway on 8/27. So I called to ask them, since they charged me will my listing be active for the next 30 days. The man I spoke to said yes, it will be active until 2024. You signed up for the 12 month subscription. I told him I signed up for the lowest plan they offered. He said right, it's 3 months or 12 months. I told him no, I signed up for the month by month subscription. It did not say 12 months only or have a 3 month option. How do I fix this? I do not need the property listed for 12 months (Fingers crossed). He said you don't. You keep paying until July 2024, He kept repeating himself in a snarky tone over and over. I asked to speak to someone who can rectify this. He said I was, he can. By telling me I can keep the account until July of 2024. Don't use this site. They are shady, rude and unprofessional. To refuse to let me speak to anyone is absolutely ridiculous. This is the second property we've had listed on Loopnet and they did NOT charge me for a year with the first one. Cancelation was easy. They must have got broke and in turn got shady. So So Annoyed.

I had 2 listings on LoopNet, one space for lease and a piece of land for sale. I was paying $231 a month for the two listings. On Sept. 10th I leased my space and called and cancelled that listing expecting the price to go back down to $118.50 (the price for one listing). On Oct. 15th 2021 I called and cancelled the land listing because I was getting no credible leads. The lady asked if I had any other listings I wanted to list and I told her no, I'm done. I did Auto Pay, BIG MISTAKE. Found out today (April 19th 2022) they never cancelled my auto pay and have been charging me $231 the whole time. Called to find out how they can do that, and they said you never cancelled your SUBSCIPTION. $231 a month for no listings. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!
