I called because my baby monitor stopped working (absolutely LOVE the product) I called and the gentleman I spoke with was calm, friendly and very helpful! I was calling for some ideas to try and ended up being sent a full replacement no problem. This company is amazing as well and their technical support. Would highly recommend!
DO NOT BUY ANT LOW.REX ITEMS FROM THIS COMPANY. SERVICE TOTALLY SUCK. THEY NEVER ANSWER THE CALL. MOST OF THE TIME PHONE SERVICE IS DOWN. AND CALL TAKERS DONT SPEAK ENGLISH. THEY ARE TOLD TO READ SAME SCRIPTS OVER AND OVER FROM THE MATRIAL THEY ARE PROVIDED. AGAIN. SPEND $100 OR $200 MORE AND BUY A PRODUCT FROM A RELIABLE COMPANY.
I have a LHA4216-D you cant even find the product in their web or cameras for that product that I bought just a couple of years ago. The caneras go randomly weird or plain ofd and the system keeps reinitiating it self several times a day. One product I bought from their web page more than a year ago has never lift their warehouse I can still see the order on the port in my account, no explanation, no email, no body knows nothing, what a poor customer servuce. One port on my dvr just do not work anymore, my house is extremelly well protected by the power side with two top of the line kind I surge protector, kind iI and kind iII at the equipment port. It is just their bad quality, nothing else. I uses to like this brand back in the time when they proudly exhibit the "by flir" logo. I see what they do not anymore. Do yourself a favor an stay away.

Purchased their wireless 4 camera with DVR slow shipping and then right out of the box one faulty camera spent an hour on the phone with a tech to determine that promised a camera would be shipped next day it was not called told it would not be shipped for at least 4 days I objected to it taking so long was told too bad basically got it a week later. As far as distance the wireless cameras can be placed it is nowhere near what they say maybe in a field but not around a house camera resolution is not bad and they were not hard to install but cameras are made cheaply and only have a 3 ft wire before you have to connect to power supply the connection is not weatherproof so you have to get it inside within 3 ft or protect it from weather if you buy the extension cord it comes with a weatherproof connector which is basically a thread on plastic cover probably worth 10 cents I don't know why they do not include it with the basic power supply
I would not recommend this unit unless you need a wireless system that does not need wifi
We purchased 8 cameras from Lorex. We had a professional installer put them in. Within the warranty period, three of the cameras failed. We called Lorex and they sent us to their technical support. In the meantime, we had the same installer business recheck the three cameras to see if they had made a connection problem. They connections were all correct, and they verified that the three cameras were at fault. We called technical support and they kept us on the phone for two hours. We had to check this and that; this number on the adapter and this number on the DVR, on the plugs, you name it. Then they said they would not replace it without the individual serial numbers on the cameras in question. Since most of the cameras were twenty to thirty ft high, only one was close enough to get that number. Now they want the installer to call them. Most places would send you a box with the paperwork, and you send the faulty cameras, then new replacement cameras would be sent to you. My suggestion: buy local, buy American and buy from a company that sells and installs the cameras and have a maintenance plan. Lorex does NOT care about their customers and tries to squirm out of responsibility to replace faulty ones.
Cameras are decent for what you pay. I have bought from them for my studio to be monitored, I have no complaints. You get a good product for the price.
I have a Flir FX wireless security system for some lake property. It was not the highest quality cameras, but it worked good with the app. Then in August Lorex announced it would no longer support the system. We have not had a security system at the lake since then and have been working with Lorex to get a replacement. They initially sent us inferior replacement cameras that were trash. They agreed to take them back and provide us with a $120 credit per camera with which we could purchase any other Lorex camera. It took forever to get them to receive the return cameras and provide us with the credit. We then put in our order and we have been waiting a month for them to ship the cameras. They are not on back order. After many frustrating phone calls, they finally prepared a shipping label with a tracking number - that was 2 weeks ago - they still have not delivered the package to UPS. My case has been escalated many times with supervisor reviews. I have been told so many lies. Here it is 4 months since they shut down my security system, and I still do not have replacement cameras. It is obvious they do not intend to honor their word. Do not buy from them. They are probably filing bankruptcy at this moment. They do not intend to send me the cameras. Don't know what else to say.
Their testing department and support is a total failure. In May 2019, I could not watch any of my cameras (multiple locations). I was told after long talk with support guys that the problem is on their side and it will fix itself in couple of day and it got fixed. I had to spend 45 minutes or so to get this message. It should have been not more than 5 minutes.
Now Aug 2019, the latest FW upgrade has stopped all my cameras again. First I was told to hook up a monitor and mouse to the recorder unit and call them back (after 2 hours on the phone with support person). I had hard time understanding the people on the phone (I made multiple phone calls), phones are bad and the accent does not help either. Finally after hooking up the monitor and mouse, my unit is in the attic, I was told I have to hook up a computer in the same network. I hooked up the computer in the same network and now they wanted to change my router, so I had to figure out all the information for the router. After they changed the router they are telling me that I need to call my ISP. This is a Joke, right?
Why don't you provide me the old FW (or new one that fixes this problem) and let me upgrade the fw using the usb.
I would give away the system free to anyone who wants it. Piece of Junk, don't bother.
I bought a wireless camera system about 3 years ago. It's ran by battery's only, that is one of the problems. It seems like I have to change the battery at least once a week on each one and there are six cameras. The system came with one extra battery, which is ok, but the battery takes a long time to charge. Which brings to me my biggest gripe. I decided to purchase extra batteries, I went to their website and the batteries I needed did not have a price or a place to select it for purchase, thereby I called them. I gave them the model number on the battery and they sent me the batteries, well they were the wrong batteries. Now I am trying to send it back for a refunded. I went back and forth on the phone and emails and was finally successful after about a month of going back and for the phone. When I was finally approved for the return, they said UPS would send me the return shipping label, well that was wrong. I went back and forth about the shipping label issue for a week. I called UPS and I was told they don't email shipping label and that it was Lorex who are suppose to send me the labels. Again, Lorex customer service was adamant that UPS will email me the labels. I finally decided to try the chat on line and they were able to email me the labels.
To make a very long story short here goes... Purchased a wireless system and they quickly charged my card and SLOWLY shipped my item. Connected cameras and dvr guess what. No picture. Tech support informs me cameras and dvr are not compatible but they did nicely inform my of proper camera model but stated I needed to call Flir tomorrow and the would send me proper cameras. Well hour wait on phone and support says they have to forward the ticket... several days later and grueling hours on hold finally have several " supervisors " tell me the cameras will be shipped and a tracking number sent... 24 to 48 hrs. Surprise... nope. No tracking number. On the phone again with support and its always a party in the background,, I think its when they hang up on a customer they just gave the runaround to, they celebrate. Anyway once again the story of ticket has been forwarded and cameras will be shipped for sure this time. Lol. Finally an email. Order shipped. Excitedly open the email and what a surprise, disappointment actually. These scammers sent me a tracking number for my original, incorrect order. So I guess it will be another hour of two of my life that I will never get back wasted on the phone with a bunch of crooks.
Three cameras went bad in 6months. Took forever to get replacements. Had to threaten to call BBB before I could get replacements. The replacements were no better than the bad cameras. One would not work out of the box. One quit working after a month. One freezes up and now has quit working. DID NOT TRY TO GET REPLACEMENTS. NOT WORTH IT. WILL BUY ANOTHER BRAND.

I chatted with someone on Tuesday morning, 9:30 am, and was assured that someone would call me back.In fact this person even gave me a ticket # and an e-mail.
In the e-mail there was was this: "I write to you this email confirmation in order to give you the Ticket # 66xxxx and to remind you that you will be contacted on the next 24 to 48 hours."Well it is now Friday and I have not heard back. I contacted Lorex again today and they saw the ticket and told me that they will send the ticket to tech support. They kept explaining the dynamic on purchasing the deals. My issue is customer service and how I am being treated and they state they only have a few units.
No one seems to understand and can place the order. All they do is argue with me and tell me how the black Friday deals work. I was told that a manager would be calling me back within an hour.
You can probably guess. No phone call.
My biggest issue with Lorex is customer service, or the lack of. No one wants to listen and talks about something else and not the real issues.
They advertise a "Site Crasher Deal" and you wait for the countdown and you are unable to purchase the item. This happened to me for all three of their deals.
I was logged in, waited for the countdown to reach "0" (zero) and immediately purchased, within 2 seconds I was in the final stage of check out and it would not let me order it. There was only one item in the cart.
I then tried this in a different browser and the same issue. I called support again to find out what is going on, at first they told me their site is having issues and when I asked what they can do they state that they are sold out and there is nothing I can do. Customer support was the worst ever. The could not do a thing, not even transfer me to a manger. They took my name and number and said that the manager would call me back as soon as he got of the phone. The rep would not give me his name and when I asked for a time, all he said is that he is on the phone with another customer and it would not be long. That was over two hours ago. No call back at all.
I figured I should take advantage of the "Black Friday" deals they had with the additional 25%.
I was going to purchase a 4K sercurity system and when I added that to the and the code did not work. Also I now have 26 (yes twenty six) of the "Site Crasher Deal" in my cart and I cannot remove them. This time it does show "out of stock". The strange thing is that I originally ordered one and it allowed me all the way to the last step of check out, now 26? What is going on here?
Another wasted call to Lorex. All they can state is that they are out of stock. They stated again that their website is having problems and there was nothing they can do. If I wanted the deal for the camera system I was trying to order, I would need to order it on-line.
Please keep in mind that the order is still in my cart, I tried two different browsers, cleared the cache, tried two other computers and my phone. The 26 is still there and I cannot remove it from my cart.
All in all I feel that Lorex does not want to support their customers and when I call in, they do not listen to what I am saying and cannot help at all and give me unrelated answers. Why are they answering the phones?
I am expecting two calls from management / supervisors that will never happen.
This company absolutely hosed its customers with its FX camera migration. This should be looked into for fraud against its customers. Shame on you LOREX, this is awful.
Tip for consumers:
DON'T EVER BUY LOREX AGAIN!

Talk to a person named Jonathan Vaca and he was really rude and I was told that they can no longer replace my camera when it was still in warranty! $#*! Lorex! $#*! Jonathan Vaca
UPDATE: After I posted this review I was contacted by a very helpful representative from FLIR, the parent company of Lorex. Jenny was very helpful and has resolved our cable issue. While Jenny was awesome, it really shouldn't have taken a negative post on Sitejabber for Lorex to take it's customer service seriously.
We have had Lorex outdoor surveillance cameras for about a year. During a recent rain storm, a cable on one of the cameras was damaged by water (why an outdoor product can't withstand rain is a mystery). My husband tried to contact Lorex to find out where to get a replacement cable but was either put on hold for ages or never got a requested call back. The one time he finally got thru, he was rudely told to try eBay or Costco! Why sell something you won't support? We have to go to an auction site to try and find a part!?! Just as an fyi, Costco doesn't sell parts!
When my husband asked to speak with a manager he was put on hold and ignored. We've also tried emailing consumer support only to be told we reached the wrong department - no offer to redirect our message.
We are now left with a camera that is useless because we can't get a cable.
The replacement cameras I received and the app associated with it is junk. Difficult to access the cameras remotely and if you do manage to the system works 1 in10 times. A complete joke.
They have a terrible software system and their customer support has absolutely is the dumbest set of losers!
You have to be an IT rockstar to be able to manage, install and maintain the system. They have tons of "false triggers" on the detection systems and their support is ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS

This is a company that touts technology for the homeowner. Not the case... I purchased their newest "noctornal 4k camera system, NVR, 12 cameras, etc. 2k. The site says you can access the video via the app... completely false. This system is not supported by their LOREXHOME app, only the cloud app. Their solution is that i run an HDMI cable to the TV I want to see the security camera's on. Well, i live in an 8000 square foot house... 10 tv's, pool house, etc. (I'm not bragging, its the reality). I spoke with one of their tech people who RECOMMENDED this system. After wiring all of it, some 800 feet of cable, I find out it doesnt function on their app... Bottom line, after taking 3 days to install it, I ripped it out in 3 hrs, boxed it up and sent it back. They seemed to NGAS. So be it, buy Amcrest... much better, more secure and more for the money.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from Lorex

I bought a complete 16 camera security system, cost was over $1,600.00 (not including installation). It came with a 2 year manufactures warranty. After being installed we found out that one camera was broken. Contacted customer support (took a week to get a hold of someone) and they said they would send me out a replacement camera right away. 2 months later I had to call again, go through the process all over again of getting a hold of someone, and they said a mistake was made and they would send me out my replacement camera. I finally got my replacement a week later. Not even a week later the DVR system broke. It started by turning off then back on every hour. Then progressed to every half hour, then every minute. We contacted customer support again. We had to go through trouble shooting with them (this process took a month, NO ONE CALLS YOU BACK when they say they are going to). I started this case on July 20th, 2016. It is now September 19th and I have yet to resolve the issue with customer support. I have not had a proper working system since I bought the unit and had it installed. I highly recommend going through a different company for a camera system. The camera quality was very good, and for a complete 16 camera system I thought the price was fair. But the customer service has been an absolute nightmare and the quality of the equipment has shown to be very poor.

We purchased a DVR security system for $699 on July 20th and by the time is was delivered on August 1st we had already decided we wanted to purchase a different system. The equipment was never unboxed. We had to call 4 times before we could reach anyone to make the return ticket on August 3rd. The package was returned via FedEx and signed for at the Lorex facility at 9; 31am on August 18th. My husband has called several times since to inquire about our refund but can never reach ANYONE!
It is now September 20th and i have currently been on hold for over an hour and 45 minutes again for the second time today. This company has our money and the security system in THEIR possession! WHERE IS MY REFUND!?
Dear Mitch A., our sincere apologies for the wait. Please reply to our private message so we can get this resolved for you. Thank you.
I bought a lorex camera system a few weeks ago. It was very easy to install and the quality of the picture I got was awesome BUT if anyone breaks into your house and steals the camera system lorex will not help you get back the data. I was broken into and the cameras clearly caught the guys but I could only get one of the cameras to pull up the video, and of course it's the camera that didn't get a great picture of the thieves. When I called lorex they told me since I didn't sign up for the "cloud" service the video can not be retrieved. First of all I had no clue there was even a such thing as a subscription. I was under the impression that the video was being loaded to the internet for safe keeping. Apparently only one of the cameras saved to the internet because the "free 30 day trial" only applied to the one camera. Like wtf it would have been nice to know that ahead of time. Also when I contacted lorex to let them know the police would like a copy of the video they proceeded to tell me since I didn't buy the membership they wouldn't help me. I will never recommend this product to anyone and I will be sure to tell everyone what lorex has done to me. If it wasn't for their crappy customer service I would have been able to have proof of the people who broke in. This was solely the reason why we had gone with this camera company because they led us to believe they were saving the video online
Hi Ryan D., We apologize for this experience, and would like to look into the matter further. Please reply to the private message we sent you, and provide us with your information so we can investigate. Thank you for your feedback.
Base not working missing parts and just got this system, base will only accept 4 cameras at a time out of 8
I have spent numerous days onhold for over 3hrs only to be disconnected. I have had a support ticket in since Nov 1st. I have filed a BBB Complaint at this point.
Our apologies for the wait times, we are currently training new agents so this situation should be improved very soon. Please email your ticket # to feedback@lorextechnology.com. Thank you.
After my NVR updated the firmware I could no longer view the cameras on my computer at home. The Flir Cloud software showed the cameras off line. I called for tech support and waited for about an hour. I finally got hold of a foreign lady who I simply could not understand. The headset she was using was awful. I repeatedly asked to speak to someone else and she refused to transfer me until I informed her that I had Lorex corporate information pulled up on my computer and that I was going to call them. Believe me when I tell you this company is a total joke. Lizy refused to let me speak to her supervisor when I requested to do so. Our connection was awful and she could not speak good English. In short, after approximately nine hours on hold with tech support and speaking with six individuals I was finally transferred to someone who knew what I was talking about. After a firmware update the Flir Cloud Software would not allow my cameras to display over the internet. William immediately said we have to get a Lorex program on your computer that will allow you to get out of your LAN so you can see your cameras. I allowed this man to take charge of my computer as he uninstalled the old cloud software and installed the new Lorex software. He walked me through setting up the three NVR's and wallah, the cameras were once again on my remote computer screen. William is a saint, but what a hassle I went through.
I own three camera systems, but never again will I go this route. NEVER
Not Impressed at all! Do Not order from Lorex!
Ordered a LWF1080B-66 3 weeks ago, 21 days ago!... this 6 camera system was to be delivered within 5 to 10 business days.
I received an email yesterday, 21 days, 3 weeks after I ordered the system stating that Lorex was cancelling my order... no mention as to why, just if I wanted more informaiton, to call their 1-888 number.
So I call the number last evening and am told that no one is working that would be able to help me, call back in the morning.
I call back, and over the course of 1hour and 10 minutes, get shuffled between 3 departments. I did not speak to any of the three that long, I was mostly on hold those 70 minutes!
I am then told that the product is on back order and they do not know when it will be available but hey, they are offering me a 20% discount on another system that would cost me $400.00 dollars more, WOW what a deal!... NOT
I ask, why did you permit the order to go through if it was not available?... all I get is sorries... not helpful when I required the device 2 weeks ago!
Then they try to up sell me to another device that is $400 dollars more!... sounds and smells like a scam to me!
Terrible experience with Lorex and an even worse product. I purchased a $2000 package of 4K cameras and the N881 series NVR. Here I am 2 years later and fed up with the company. The first camera stop working 14 months in, I ended up buying another camera. The second camera stopping working 18 months in. Each time I had to pay to purchase a camera, and pay for someone to climb a ladder and install. And now I am writing this review, 24 months later, because the entire NVR is no longer functioning. The customer service team asked me to try things like different power cables and HDMIs even though the entire box is not functioning. LOREX = PURE GARBAGE. There is no quality assurance, no proper testing or integrations done on their product. They have a savvy website and a nice looking camera that tricks people like me to fall for their product and buy. But if you want to save yourself DO NOT PURCHASE FROM LOREX! I can offer up three companies that do a better job - Arlo, Swann, and Reolink.
Tip for consumers:
Stick with REOLINK or ARLO
