“Excellent and legitimate adult dating site.”

I've had success with this site in the past. I've recent renewed my membership and continue to be impressed. I would highly recommend this. And also urge you to stay clear of fake sites such as Ashley Madison and Pure and Elite Singles.

Match.com used to be a pretty good site. But they are ridiculous now. I recently received 5 emails from 5 different people at Match. All in response to a question I had posed on Match.com They all responded and NO ONE helped. What a joke! All they care about is money. It's such a scam!

Yet another dating site that scams its clients. I signed up and paid for a month at the Platinum level. $59.99.
Completed my profile, posted photos and did everything I was supposed to do. Didn't get a SINGLE reply. Messaged
A lot of women, was always respectful and decent in my messages. Not a single reply. Match would tell me "someone likes you!" or "someone looked at your profile!" or something like that. I would message that person and would hear nothing back. So I started getting suspicious and messaged a few women that supposedly looked at my profile and asked them if they did. They all said they did not!
I canceled my membership after that.
So, same as Ashley Madison, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR EFFORT!

Recently they decided if you want to see more than 6 people on the search page you have to now pay to see the full list. It wasn't like that earlier this year. It wouldn't be so bad but their lowest price is $50 US and since I live in Canada it's about 60$, you're joking right? I have to pay 60$ just to see the entire list I was able to see earlier this year for free? It used to be a good dating site but now it's just garbage, at least every other site/app I tried they don't say "Oh you want to see the entire list? You have to pay"

Match gets you to subscribe by sending emails that you have several messages & likes -
When you subscribe, however, you get the message that the site is having technical difficulties or you get a page where the members are all blurred over - I was naive
Enough to contact their customer service chat, which would have been funny, had it not
been so frustrating & insulting! I have a brand new, up to date iPad, so the issue is not
On my end! NO REFUNDS, even though I subscribed 4 hrs. Ago - They're shameless -

Tip for consumers:
It’s just very disappointing & frustrating, when what you think is a reputable company
so grossly disappoints -

The Match Group apparently bought out numerous ince better dating sites and turned them into paywall blocking sites that constantly demand substantial added cost subscription enhancements.
They own...

Match Group is the owner of several popular online dating services, including:
Tinder, Match.com, Meetic, OkCupid, Hinge, Plenty of Fish, and OurTime.

Their poorly built communication and demands for additional payments for access to membrrs they entice you with photos and paywall blocks make old fashion face to face social gatherings a better dating method

Tip for consumers:
Having this insight to the many dating sites the Match Group owns and their heavy use of paywall access blocking would have kept me from joining

Products used:
I used the Basic Premium membership access to potential date people

Like other sites - match never deletes old inactive accounts - esp of very nice looking people. They use those profiles to entice and get you to sign up - then you find out those people are not members any more, nor haven't been for a long time. - then- systematically - your acct develops an issue - not a real issue but freezes - your only option for help - online. And wait for days. And then they erase or mangle your info - you lose all your messages - your plans get cancelled - and there is no credit issued - for a problem they cannot detail.
SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM TO ME.
These days it's a challenge to find normal people - add in the site working against you.?
BUT - THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY SO EASILY. THEN NO ONE HOME.
IT'S TIME FOR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT - TO TEACH THEM A LESSON..

Tip for consumers:
if anyone wants to join a class action suit - and put these clowns where they belong - reach out

I paid 149$ for a membership. When I first accessed the account I saw they used a wealthy physician's account to scam little old ladies with fake likes. Some attractive members are only shown in the highlights and not in search so that you have to pay an additional 3$ a piece to contact them. Hiding those from routine searches is screwing them too.

I forgot my password. I've been trying to reset the password and contacted the help line. I get a message after putting in email and it doesn't proceed to the next step. This site is not official. I didn't pay but regretfully have pics that I want to delete to keep from being used by others. Not a viable site.

Any tricks or hacks to get faster help from Match customer service like maybe actually talk to someone?!
I paid the most expensive subscription and can't use any of the services by not being able to get past the phone and account verification screen. I put in several "customer care" trouble forms then waited days to get a response or have to verify myself by answering 5 questions then waited days for a response of it having to be sent to another department so now am guessing I will have to wait for no telling how many days again. Dang! I tried many phone numbers found online and no luck. A chat feature on Facebook didn't work either.

I am okay with Match, or any other dating app charging a fee to access advanced features to improve the user experience. What I object to is that the basic paid subscription does not offer any useful features versus an unpaid subscription. Besides selecting gender, age range and search radius, you get nothing else. This renders the app pretty useless since one wastes their time sorting through profiles that are of no interest to the user. Instead, Match wants you to sign up for the premier subscription to get access to helpful search criteria like use interests, education, preferences as far as smoking, drinking, etc. Just a money grab. Better off to use the unpaid subscription or better yet, choose a different dating app.

Tip for consumers:
Tried to get a refund through Apple, but they would not provide one.

Too many scammers here with fake profiles. Especially there was an expert matched me with an ugly old man! With all conflicting interests! And then they asked me if I wanted to pay extra for the expert service! Wasted my time and money here! Do not recommend this app to anyone!

I used Match before lockdown for a few months and again in 2024. Customer service not only provides no help to customers to solve their problems, but also uses judgmental attitude to blame customers without providing legit reasons due to their "privacy policy". Definitely avoid this website.

A terrible dating site. It is full of profiles of people who have cancelled their subscription and are no longer active on the site, yet they continue to be displayed as though they are active. I know this for a fact because, despite being on the app for a little over a month, I was trying to delete some old, non-responsive "Likes" of mine. I'm a really decent catch, so I couldn't believe that out of 100 profiles that I had "liked", only three had "liked" me back. At first, I could delete the old "likes" easily by dragging left on the profile in the list and selecting the offered "delete" option, however, after several profile "deletes", the functionality suddenly disappeared. Not being one to give up easily, I reverted to "blocking" my old "likes".

Normally, when you select "block" for a profile, you then have to select the option "confirm" to execute the block. When I blocked most of the old "likes", instead of getting the option to "confirm", the message "Profile Unavailable" popped up. (See picture #1) So I've been busy reading and "liking" profiles that shouldn't even be there. To further prove this point, at the bottom of the "Profile Unavailable" page, there are still the options to Message, Super Like, or Like. I selected "Like" on the profile that was "Unavailable" and was then given the option to message the person. Even though they aren't even there! (See picture #2) What a scam, and a complete waste of time and money. And to top it off, many of the profiles I blocked had a green dot beside them indicating that they had been recently active. Another lie.

Add to this that I have read numerous reviews that Match makes it very difficult to delete your account. Yes, you can deactivate it easily, but try deleting it. So, what Match.com is doing is keeping deactivated accounts "active" on their site so they can deceitfully inflate their number of users when in actuality, there are not many fish in their sea.

Match.com requires a paid membership to gain accessibility to members and send messages. There are some recommendations they make based on your search parameters called Highlights. But, to respond to a Highlight you need to spend an additional $3.00. A six month membership is already $150. I'm a fully paid member who can't message the profiles they send me without incurring additional expense. NOTE: There is no level of customer service worth contacting. There is no help line to call. You can only use email. Email responses and "solutions" from their representatives come from a book of canned responses and in trying to resolve an issue, I received "help" from five different reps. Match.com is a scam. I'll never recommend it.

Lesson learned. I went back to Seek4Match
Which is a legit site, I used to have dates through them before the lockdown.
I have never felt more wronged than when dealing with Match. It is not a legit site. Obviously all women are being paid a commission, that's why all other forms of contact are blocked. No woman would talk on a free platform. They always make something up when it comes to a real meeting. Just avoid Match at all costs, you will do your wallet and your heart a big favor!

I met Bruno 3 years ago. He has schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and narcissistic tendencies. He mentally and physically abused me and was charged with 5 counts of assault. He also verbally and sexually abused me and treated me with complete disrespect. This man is very sick and dangerous. He appears to be charming and friendly but he is not. Please ladies do not engage or get involved with this man He will hurt you and destroy you.
I added his picture.

I joined match and created a profile I then logged out. When I tried to log back in I got a screen to verify my phone number. When I put in my phone number I got an error message that they could not verify my number. I tried many times and always got the error message. I contacted their customer care support department many times and got very little response. When I finally got an email that the problem had been resolved I tried again and got the same error message. I have been locked out of my account since I created it and not help. They don't have any phone number to call and don't answer emails promptly nor fix the problem but THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND NOT REFUND YOU WHEN THEY DON'T PROVIDE THE SERVICE YOU PAID FOR. This site is as big a scam as any on the internet.

I was overcharged 75.49, so far and tried to contact via phone number listed on bank site but only outgoing message *******161. Followed prompts to leave email but when hit submit it dumped me completely from site. Think this site only wants money with absolutely no support for customers. Haven't even had time to determine if profiles are legitimate as I too was told the match I tried to contact was removed. Something really wrong here and the total lack of support is BIG RED FLAG. I have never left a bad review on any site giving the company a chance to help but they don't offer any real help just the circle runaround. You have been warned.

I set my profile to Hidden, so no one could see me unless I clicked "like" on their profile. I did this for real and important security reasons. Match changed my settings to "everyone can view profile." They did that, I assume, so they have more people to show on their "Discover" feature.

I found out about this only when I started getting Likes from men whose profiles I had not approved.

This happened to a friend, too. We are both older women, with good reasons to want privacy. I think Match gets more male members than female, and they "unhide" profiles on purpose.

This is shameful, dishonest, and potentially dangerous.

Avoid this website!

Tip for consumers:
Poorly managed. Dishonest company.

Really disappointed, on so many levels

I have been on Match for a short time, and have already encountered many issues with the app. Some of them are annoying, some really concerning.

First, the app seems to be designed to up-sell services. When you sign up for basic service, you have seemingly infinite access to "discovery" (which is flipping through available, presumably edited, profiles). But that doesn't last. After some weeks on the site, you are allowed a limited number of views before it closes down. The message comes up that you have to wait for your next set of matches. But you can upgrade to boost you profile, and views, for a fee! I am constantly offered upgrades. I can pay for "super likes" (this service was offered while I was viewing a profile that was too good to be true, and which I suspect was just a fake, presented as bait), primary placement during high-view hours, etc. It's ridiculous and annoying.

Second, the algorithm ignores my preference parameters. I specified men who have at least a college degree, are within a specific age bracket, and live within X miles of me. I am constantly presented with "matches" who live many hours away, have no degree, and who otherwise fall way outside my parameters.

Third, even though Match brags about their safety measures, they seem to have no way to follow up when one reports a member for any reason. I have encountered some very dodgy men on Match. Only one was concerning enough that I reported him. I have exchanged several emails about this man with Match support. The case has even been escalated. But all they do is ask me, repeatedly, for the man's contact information — real name, address, phone number, etc. This is for a man whom I met, and with whom corresponded, on their dating app. I never never met him in person, or had contact outside of the app. I never even did a video chat with him (a service on the Match app). Just messaging. Why would I have that personal information? Match should have it.

FYI, what this man was doing was trying to find out where I live. He was doing that in a careful, "grooming" sort of manipulative give and take, claiming that he once lived in my area and describing things around here. Then he would ask whether I lived close to that specific thing, and he'd ask for physical details of my neighborhood. It got creepy and alarming really quickly, so I contacted Match.

I've met men on Match who have been using the app for a decade. It can be a very sad place. I'm sure there are good people on there, and you may luck out and find a potential partner. But my experience has not been good. I am thinking of canceling my subscription.

In summary, my experience with Match is that they exist primarily to up-sell subscription services and extras, their matching algorithm is poorly designed and inadequate, and they have no real or effective way to protect users from bad actors on the site.

Women who are looking for men, beware. I wish you luck in your search. Take care of yourselves.

I've been dating from the Internet for about 20 years. I've had really lovely relationships and met some wonderful women. As of May 2023, I'm using multiple sites. Match is an antique. The actual connection rate is abysmal. This fossil denies spontaneity. Post a new picture? Wait days for "approval." Edit your profile? Same delay. Once you're on it, it's pimping you constantly for upgrades. I would avoid this site entirely. Once you disconnect they start sending you notice about all the wonderful people you're missing that "liked you." I fell for that, and it was totally disappointing. I think you could do better with Bumble, Tinder and even Facebook dating

Tip for consumers:
That it’s cumbersome and awkward, denies spontaneity, and the connection rate stinks. A waste of money for somebody who is serious about connecting with genuine real people.

Do you know how much time I wasted on Match? Two years!
Match gave me only one date with a selfish drama queen. It might have been a good service years ago, but it's not the case any longer. You can contact women endlessly going round and round in circles with no results. Match is not a client-oriented platform anymore. All they care about is getting as much of your money as possible. For this purpose they use fake accounts and bots.

I reported a problem with their matching algorithm two months ago. During each interaction with customer support, I was told that they would escalate the issue and it will be fixed soon. In my corporate experience, escalation of a customer-facing production issue means no one goes home until the problem is resolved, usually in less than 24-hours. For match.com it apparently means they'll just keep stalling and placating the user. Either their tech team is incapable of diagnosing and resolving the issue, or they are so overwhelmed with other bugs in the software that this one is at the bottom of a long list of software issues. You have many other online dating vendors from which to choose, I suggest trying one of them.
