As a seller, I was completely satisfied with MaxSold. They were efficient with their communication with me, arrived on time to photograph the items I was putting my home on the market and needed to clear all the contents. The online auction occurred on the dates we agreed and Pick Up was arranged and was efficiently conducted. Staff was courteous and experienced. Accounting was provided quickly and to my satisfaction. I would recommend MaxSold wholeheartedly. Thank you for a job well done.
First time seller and multiple technical issues such as: - Date I picked for pickup was not the date given to purchasers - Reports online differed from reports received (kept telling me one lot wasn't paid for online) - No instructions on what to do if lot isn't picked up - App DOES NOT link to a sale you've started - Uploading photos was a challenge Reported to Maxsold and basically told to bad. They only addressed the first issue and said a confirmation email had the same date as the purchasers despite their online system showing the data I had chosen.
Missing pieces purchased were taken out to sell at auction house. Bronze piece and bull at bottom left
Were missing. Lady by the name Mary offered me a refund I am not accepting no refund I told her. I am still refunding $40 to your card she said. BBB has to know about this. Because it is not the first time this happen to me.
Just attended my first auction and won more lots than planned. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and everything was as described (down to the negative parts). Read the descriptions before you bid (about pickup times) and you won't have any surprises. This is an auction, not a buy and sell.
I live in a small town in IL. There is nothing ever for sale near me. I've checked the site numerous times on and off for the past 6 months. I guess it's just not popular in my area. I'm sure other's are able to enjoy the site. Just note that not everyone will be able to use this site.
I have used Max Sold before, but the first time I won a bid was a very good experience. There was plenty of email feed back regarding my winning bid: Full description of items in the lot, detailed sales receipt including taxes and commissions etc, step by step instructions and expectations, and finally a reminder the day before the scheduled pick up time. At pick up there were 5 friendly staff who were organized and very helpful. Couldn't have had a better experience.

MaxSold has always been a positive experience for me, whether it's been MaxSold run or seller run.
With the exception of one item I bought over a year ago (the picture neglected to show some minor damage) I've always come out ahead with my purchases. I set a max limit & stick to it.
From a buyer's perspective I highly recommend MaxSold. There are lots of treasures out there.

I would have to say I keep 60% of what I buy for myself & the other 40% as gifts.
I've had a great time finding some really unusual items that I've used to decorate my home. And the auctions are great! My first time, I lost on an item for which I should have been more realistic in bidding and I learnt my lesson. Since then, I've found lovely items that I've truly enjoyed winning and owning. I wish MaxSold had been around in Dallas in 2003 when my mom passed and I had to go there from Toronto to manage an estate sale. I would definitely have used them!
I have used MaxSold a lot to buy things for myself and my family. The organization is very professionally operated. The steps I am required to take ensure that I know what I'm getting into when I bid. The staff I've met are great. I trust this site and the process. It's also a fun way to shop. I talk about MaxSold to almost everyone I meet - I'm such a fan!
I'm an avid Maxsold buyer, and love all the wonderful things I've been able to pick up for a fantastic price! Maxsold still has a few things to work on, like testing items, providing good, non-blurry pictures and more than one. But if you have a brain/common-sense and read all the disclaimers, you can find amazing deals on great items using Maxsold.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Maxsold they were great and they helped me throughly. They answered all my questions by a telephone and furthermore they're really good at responding to you automatically if your outbid by email which keeps you up-to-date.
Found Maxsold online, I needed a slide projector to project, photograph and catalog some old slides. I found one at a Maxsold auction near me, the registration was simple, the bidding easy with full disclosure on what my bid was going to cost me. In the end I was the high bidder, at a great price. Picking up the items is a simple process of looking at the winning bid confirmation email check the pickup time (also clearly stated when bidding), arrive at the location, sign in and have a Maxsold person take me to where the items were, load them in my car and head home. Maxsold cannot help load or remove items so bring a friend and a big enough car or truck to get the job done. First rate service from my experience.
As a Professional Organizer and Certified Senior Move Manager®, this was our 4th time managing a MaxSold downsizing estate sale/auction and we also have recent experience organizing a sale for a MaxSold managed auction. Most recently, our client earned approximately $4400 from the sale of his late mother's home contents, in which over 96% sold. We were able to completely clear the home on the same day as the pickup, so that the new homeowners could move forward with closing on their new home. Overall, all parties involved were extremely satisfied with the results - the seller, the buyers, the Realtor, and the new homeowner. There's no question that we will continue to use MaxSold to downsize the estates of our clients! Thank you, MaxSold, for having this platform to make downsizing a little easier!
My only wish is that MaxSold held more auctions in my area. Whenever they do I always find something (or things) I'm excited about bidding on. And the items I've won I've been very happy with. And the people are so nice to work with. Come on sellers -- Denver area needs more MaxSold auctions!
I've done a lot of Ebay over the years. This has been a great experience for us. Lots of items are sold as lots. It's like getting a bonus item. You bid, just like Ebay, putting in your max bid. Pickup has been very professional. The people there make sure you find your items with ease. I'm very pleased and can't wait to find other treasures.
We sold everything we own to move to Texas. This includes lots of furniture and paintings, collectibles and several other items. We made less than $600 on a household full of stuff - even a leather sleeper couch. The pictures were not done professionally and I believe we should have sold our stuff on our own and would have made more than 3 times of what we made through MaxSold. Unfortunately we did not have the time to sell on our own so I reached out to MaxSold. I would not recommend them at all.
Starting from July of last year, I have been now to 9 Maxsold auctions. I buy items on auction in order to resell. I look for lots that have value, but have been overlooked by other buyers. Most of their auctions have lots that hold significant interest for the buyers, and the prices go very high. Sometimes higher than what the item is worth! Good for the seller, but not what I'm looking for.
I find the lots with hidden value or something that needs cleaning up or repair. Maybe its just too much of something; for instance, I once purchased about 30 wallets! Good for a reseller, but no so much for someone buying for themselves.
Considering the number of auctions and the variety of items for sale, I find stuff I can sell at almost every one of them, but I can take in only so much! Oh, and I buy for myself sometimes. Just can't help it!
It has always been a pleasure buying and selling with Maxsold. With the fundraisers we have done in the past only a couple of items received no bids! They are fair and and enjoy watching their sales :)
Have always enjoyed the bidding and purchase process with MaxSold. Items were always in described condition, and have had some pleasant surprises when purchasing item lots. Whenever I have had an issue, customer service has been polite and accountable. Will continue to purchase as long as they remain honest and reliable.
It was really fun to bid on something and win! I won the bid on some wonderful vintage Christmas decorations and tree ornaments. Picking up was quick and easy, MaxSold had everything organized for a no stress pick up. It was like Christmas morning when I got home and went through the containers. There were many things in the box that didn't show on the photos online. I can't wait until I bid and win again!
As a repeat buyer, I can say this company is great! They look out for their sellers and their buyers. The deals are great, and if you have too much stuff it's a nice way to get a little cash and get rid of it!
For seller managed auctions, the 30% fee is high considering the seller does everything except the web site. Also you should reduce the fees to the buyer. Lower fees means more sales and higher sale values which in turn gives Maxsold and the seller more money. Also more people would be willing to do a Maxsold. Many comments I get from customers picking up the items are the fees are too high. Stop gouging your customers!
A couple months ago, I was looking for auctions that would encompass everything I was looking for. And maxsold was it! You could do it from home! And the starting bid is only $1. Not only that, they had a wide array of items stretching from antiques to daily home items. Max sold also has an abundance of auctions. Bidding and Pick-up is easy as can be. Find auctions in your area.
I purchased some things from the real estate agent. These things were put on a list and given to Maxsold. They did not list them in the auction. When I arrived with the agent. After they were done with the sold items from the auction… my things and many other things were gone. Tried to resolve this with maxsold. Got many e mails back. Bunch of double talk and no answer to what happened to the missing items. Never use anyone that would steal things from you for their own personal gain. Horrible business practices..

Bid on a bicycle with odd amounts. First $30 which I was the high bidder with a max bid of $103.20 minutes later I checked the auction and the price had jumped to exactly $103. I waited an hour and the raised my bid to $116. I noticed within 10-20 minutes of bidding each time the bid was raised to the exact amount I bid. So it was smart enough to keep me as the high bidder but they made sure they were getting highest price they could without getting stuck with the item. It was so obvious that the proxy bidding amounts were being seen by someone at Maxsold and being raised within 10 - 15 minutes to the exact random amount. Shady Shady Business!
Hello,
We employ several functions for our bidders -- one is the MaxBid feature, a bidder can set the maximum amount they wish to bid and the system will bid on their behalf. Here is some information on how the MaxBid feature works for bidders https://support.maxsold.com/hc/en-us/articles/203143774-Entering-a-Maximum-Bid-or-MaxBid
We also have bidding increments (an auction industry standard) you can read about this here https://support.maxsold.com/hc/en-us/articles/203144054-How-do-bid-increments-work-
In addition to those features, we also have a soft close feature that turns on when the auction is closing. So long as a bid is placed in the last two minutes of the items closing time it will extend the bidding essentially turning the auctions into a live bidding platform. Once there are no bids for a full 2 minutes the lot will close. Here is the information about that. https://support.maxsold.com/hc/en-us/articles/203144064-Soft-Close-Extended-Bidding
We do hope you will reconsider your assessment of our bidding platform, you can also read more about the process and our terms here:

I filled out the registration and left my credit card number, which felt very intrusive as I was new and just wanted to browse. Today, I go back to the site hoping to bid on some items and can't even " login" as a protective window pops up over and over again, immediately after I press " login ". To add another dimension of unnecessary obstruction just to look at photos of furniture, all answers to my questions are answered by " artificial intelligence ". The robot answers plenty of questions but none of them are the one I asked.
There is no requirement for users to register to review any auction lot in a Maxsold auction. The system does ask for registration however as a frequent disappointment with previous shoppers (before our update) was that they missed out on items they would have bid on because they didn’t plan for the time required to register prior to attempting to bid (usually in the last few minutes). Users who experience difficulties are encouraged to contact Support@maxsold.com or 877 257 7799 x1 to speak with a Support team member for assistance. We do have an A. I. chatbot also available for those that are okay interacting with that sort of tool but it is still learning how to understand and address questions. We also have an in depth FAQ page for bidders available here: https://support.maxsold.com/hc/en-us/sections/200632144-Buyer-Frequently-Asked-Questions
I would encourage anyone that has reservations or unanswered questions to reach out to our support office so that we may help. Operating in about 50% of all of North America with millions of viewers a month, we continue to become a great place to bid on everyday and unique (used) items where bidders decide how much they are willing to pay (before either winning, or passing until the next opportunity).
