As a seller, I was completely satisfied with MaxSold. They were efficient with their communication with me, arrived on time to photograph the items I was putting my home on the market and needed to clear all the contents. The online auction occurred on the dates we agreed and Pick Up was arranged and was efficiently conducted. Staff was courteous and experienced. Accounting was provided quickly and to my satisfaction. I would recommend MaxSold wholeheartedly. Thank you for a job well done.
First time seller and multiple technical issues such as: - Date I picked for pickup was not the date given to purchasers - Reports online differed from reports received (kept telling me one lot wasn't paid for online) - No instructions on what to do if lot isn't picked up - App DOES NOT link to a sale you've started - Uploading photos was a challenge Reported to Maxsold and basically told to bad. They only addressed the first issue and said a confirmation email had the same date as the purchasers despite their online system showing the data I had chosen.
Really bad customer service for new seller, they don't provide technical support on setting up new account. All their YouTube videos are about how good they are. If a new seller cannot even log in, how can the process get started?

I really like this business. You can really find some wonderful bargains! I see other reviewers complaining about items they've gotten, but that's what sometimes happens when you buy used goods, and it's the risk you take to get something for about 1/10th its usual price. I've had nothing but good experiences with them!
I recently won a few lots bidding on Max Sold and was pleasantly surprised at how easily everything went. The bidding process is very standard and the pick up was exactly how it should have been. Even easier cue to the fact some stuff was packed and ready before we got there. It was a very good experience.
I would have given Maxsold 5 stars except for the fact that after 4 emails and 3 phone calls, I finally received a response 1 week later to my inquiry about items that were cataloged but did not make it into the sale. Also, it would be helpful if your people would let the seller know when they are cataloging lots why an item might be removed from the auction. This would give the seller an opportunity to change an item so that it is acceptable. All in all, I would use Maxsold again.
When I see a notice in my email that there is an auction located near me I get a little thrill. I have bid and won some GREAT items. The bidding process is easy and very fair. I like the having an appointed time to pick up items and they will work with you if you win multiple lots in different pick up time slots. Very nice and helpful workers. I always get a great deal with MaxSold.
What MaxSold did in a couple of weeks, would have taken us several months. From the initial meeting, to the photographing of the lots, then to the lot pick up, the MaxSold team was fantastic to work with. Answering all questions along the way. On the day of pick up, they handled all buyer inquires professionally and to the satisfaction of both seller and buyer. Would I use them again. In a heart beat. Job well done MaxSold.
For the client: If your client needs to thin out or clear a property on a timely basis, this is the way to go. It has the added benefit of being affordable, easy to execute and safer - in that you know all buyers.
For the cataloguer, the app on your smart device enables you to catalog a whole house in less than a day. Editing the catalog is easy and quick too, with the ability to combine lots.

Totally took advantage of my neighbor! She lost all her items and made nothing but owed them money! Took advantage of her knowing she needed help instead of helping her they took her items and her money! Im disgusted that they can do this to someone and feel okay by it! She is older and alone! I can't believe it! Please if your parent or elder person in your life comes to you please help them. It's too late now but I will make sure I get the word out for others to hear!
The above doesn't sound like a MaxSold client as we don't take items (items stay at the property, and we supervise the removal once it's paid for) Can you provide details about where the auction was held and some detail so that we can contact your neighbor? I have now completed 4 seller managed auctions with Maxsold. I could not be happier, everything sells and for a decent amount, always paid within a week! I find their service amazing, instead of having a yard sale for days and still have items left over paid maybe 1/2 of what I receive on Maxsold! The bad reviewer must not of had good items to sell or she would also have the same review as I do! Also if the server you are on is not functioning properly, use another! This is not Maxsolds' issue!
MaxSold is an awesome way to find items you have been looking for or want to resell. The folks that use MaxSold have told me that they appreciate the help and in many cases are glad to see their items gone-and for those of us who buy for our personal use and often resell, this helps knowing we are helping.
I can't say enough about Maxsold. I have told friends, family and anyone who asks. Our experience from the Initial Contract to the pickup after the online auction and receiving the final payment was seem less. Customer Service is your motto. Freeing myself of 62 of 63 lots of items and furniture has really hastened the process of emptying our home of 41 years.
The Cataloging and Pickup Teams were professional, respectful and enjoyable. We enjoyed having them at our home.

We dreaded the thought of moving to a new style of house not knowing how to get value for our quality furniture. We had some very nice pieces which didn't agree with the décor we were trying to create at our new lake house. From start to finish our Maxsold experience was managed professionally by courteous and knowledgeable people and in the end gained us fantastic results. My friend bought 3 over the shoe racks because maxsold listed it as "new over the door racks". I picked up the items for her as she can't drive. The items were in a box when I picked them up. Took them to my friend and she immediately inspected them. All three were missing the hooks that go over the door. As it was late in the evening she waited until the next day to call. She was told to fill out the return fund form which she did. Now they are saying they are refusing to return her money! They say all items should be inspected on pick-up. This ridiculous when you are in someone elses home with a number of other people picking up items. If they sell the items as new it is there job to inspect them otherwise don't list it as new. BUYER BEWARE!
Maxsold has two models - Maxsold Managed and Seller Managed. In one offering Maxsold is never on site and therefore has no visibility of the items sold. In the other, our teams catalog and thus have a bit more awareness of the items. That said, regardless of who is cataloging, both honest mistakes and dishonest actions can occur - thus, Maxsold uses a transparent claims process that has worked for centuries in the live auction world - specifically, the buyer can inspect the item in full view of the auction staff, other buyers (and sometimes the Seller) and make a claim (partial/full refund) if the item is found to be in a condition other than what was described. In the bidder terms (www.maxsold.com/terms) it states (with a reminder also listed on all buyer invoice):
CLAIMS: ENSURE YOU INSPECT items at pickup (and preview if available) and IMMEDIATELY inform the MaxSold team (or Seller if Seller Managed) of any issues related to mis-cataloging of condition (remembering that you are purchasing used items in AS IS WHERE IS condition). By departing from the pickup site you acknowledge that you have all your items and that you are satisfied with them and/or have brought up issues with the Lead on site. NO CLAIMS ARE PERMITTED AFTER REMOVING ITEMS FROM THE PREMISES as condition issues cannot be validated once items are released into your possession. If required, bring an expert to validate purchases at pickup. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of the Seller.
This ensures fairness and transparency to both the buyer and the seller. When a buyer accepts an item without inspection, they are waving any potential claim issues as, once the item leaves, there’s no way for Maxsold or the seller to know when the (potential) issue was created. Was it lost/damaged in transit? Or is buyer merely trying to take advantage of the Seller after ignoring a perfectly transparent opportunity to make a claim.
Bidders that accept and live by the terms love that everything starts at $1 with the highest bidder winning. It’s a fair and transparent model for those who can accept and abide by the terms and conditions laid out (and agreed to) prior to bidding.

Maxsold provide unique opportunity for both, sellers and buyers. Sellers have a chance to clean u their house and make same cash. Buyers divided in two major group; people who are buying for their own consumption and second hand resalers.
The biggest challenge for buyers i quality of photographs and lots descriptions. You are buying without seeing and touching actual items. The company conducts business in very professional manner, but there is small degree of risk.
I see a lot of bad reviews about reading the fine print. If you enter a contract of course you need to read it first. You have no right to complain because you feel "shilled" or wronged. Their terms are up front and also their refund and refund policies are expressly stated. Even as a buyer, before each bid they let you know the "actual" cost including the premium so there should be no reason to complain and incompetence is not an excuse.
Tip for consumers:
READ acknowledgments before clicking OK aimlessly! don't complain because you click though on the internet without reading the terms you are agreeing to.

I love being able to see the items online and bid. It allows me to know if I am winning just like if it were a real auction and I was sitting around waiting. I have purchased from separate MaxSold auctions and the team members are fantastic. I am already looking for my next bargain.
Participating in MaxSold every time. We even were so crazy to drive 135K all the way to Peterborough from Toronto. Good stuff, wonderful staff and a fast pick up, although most of the time the time itself is not convenient, just breaks up the day, but we have no choice, still love it. Thanks guys.
As someone who frequently shops auctions, MaxSold BY FAR is the best. The representatives are amazing; answer questions; and post accurate pictures and descriptions. Pick up is very smooth and they're so friendly and helpful. Five stars!
Maxsold has made estate sale shopping so easy! I can view items from home and decide if I want to bid - no more trudging from place to place to see if there's anything worthwhile or in my budget. I found the item descriptions accurate, and the many pictures of each item verrrrrry helpful. I've been to 2 pick up for auctions I've won, and both times I was so impressed with the staff. Folks were nice, helpful and friendly. I love to refinish furniture, so I'll absolutely be back!
I think more money could have been made for MaxSold and myself, if the pictures in my catalog had been staged. I did have a lot of items, but I see the Seller managed sales and all the items are neatly displayed on a table. If this is what is recommended for a Seller Managed sale than MaxSold should do it too. The items should have been staged and then placed where ever their lot was located for pickup. I had three people working my very large sale, but two of them were new to the business, still in the learning stage. I added some pictures but I could do nothing about the catalog picture to draw the customer in. I could not tell what some of the items were from the pictures. This was the best way for us to sale due to the volume of items, it would have taken me years to sale each item on-line; but I still feel like it could have been better with a better picture catalog.
I have bid on items in 2 different MaxSold auctions that were in my area. I won a few items at each auction. Upon arriving at the homes to pick up the items, I was greeted with professionalism and kindness from all the MaxSold staff. They are really people persons, and made this experience even better for me. I love the items I won and will definitely be bidding on items from MaxSold again!
Having worked with numerous auction houses and estate sale outfits locally in New England, I feel that the tools and support Maxsold has developed and supports, does make my job both easier and more efficient.
Other outfits require minimums that can be unrealistic and a waste of time.
(Not everyone has a Mona Lisa!)
