As a seller, I was completely satisfied with MaxSold. They were efficient with their communication with me, arrived on time to photograph the items I was putting my home on the market and needed to clear all the contents. The online auction occurred on the dates we agreed and Pick Up was arranged and was efficiently conducted. Staff was courteous and experienced. Accounting was provided quickly and to my satisfaction. I would recommend MaxSold wholeheartedly. Thank you for a job well done.

First time seller and multiple technical issues such as: - Date I picked for pickup was not the date given to purchasers - Reports online differed from reports received (kept telling me one lot wasn't paid for online) - No instructions on what to do if lot isn't picked up - App DOES NOT link to a sale you've started - Uploading photos was a challenge Reported to Maxsold and basically told to bad. They only addressed the first issue and said a confirmation email had the same date as the purchasers despite their online system showing the data I had chosen.

Check your items at pickup, and do not remove items from site or you will be docked for a refund. Duct tape mattresses, pool table fabric ripped, metal lounger with broken wrung-none of it photographed while you bid. Save your time, money, and gas. Poor management and crappy customer service. Many items are inadequately marked and do not show the faults, as happened to us on at least 4 auctions we bid on. A waste of time and money. And, it ask for credibility but will not let my photos post. Go figure...

It's disappointing that we appear to have failed this customer (potentially on numerous occasions based on their review).
In any case, this response attempts to highlight the process, performance rate, and method to avoid disappointment as a potential buyer on Maxsold's platform.

Maxsold has two models - Maxsold Managed and Seller Managed. In one offering Maxsold is never on site and therefore has no visibility of the items sold. In the other, our teams catalog and thus have a bit more awareness of the items. That said, regardless of who is cataloging, both honest mistakes and dishonest actions can occur - thus, Maxsold uses a transparent claims process that has worked for centuries in the live auction world - specifically, the buyer can inspect the item in full view of the auction staff, other buyers (and sometimes the Seller) and make a claim (partial/full refund) if the item is found to be in a condition other than what was described before leaving the site. In both models, the process is the same and is outlined in the bidder terms (www.maxsold.com/terms) and on the buyer invoice:

CLAIMS: ENSURE YOU INSPECT items at pickup (and preview if available) and IMMEDIATELY inform the MaxSold team (or Seller if Seller Managed) of any issues related to mis-cataloging of condition (remembering that you are purchasing used items in AS IS WHERE IS condition). By departing from the pickup site you acknowledge that you have all your items and that you are satisfied with them and/or have brought up issues with the Lead on site. NO CLAIMS ARE PERMITTED AFTER REMOVING ITEMS FROM THE PREMISES as condition issues cannot be validated once items are released into your possession. If required, bring an expert to validate purchases at pickup. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of the Seller.

This ensures fairness and transparency to both the buyer and the seller. When a buyer accepts an item without inspection, they are waving any potential claim issues as, once the item leaves, there’s no way for Maxsold or the seller to know when the (potential) issue was created. Was it lost in transit? Damaged on the way home? Or is it someone trying to take advantage of the process (by ignoring a transparent opportunity to make a claim).

Bidders that accept and live by the terms love that the as is where is used goods start at $1 with the highest bidder winning. It’s a fair and transparent model for those who can accept and abide by the terms and conditions laid out (and agreed to) prior to bidding. To date, Maxsold’s error rate in selling used goods is unmatched in both the used and retail industry at less than 2% of all goods sold.

Maxsold is an amazing site where you can get items with real value, whether it is antiques, decorative items or useful items. You can purchase from the comfort of your home and be in control of the process the whole time. Only bid exactly what you are prepared to pay and no more. Sometimes, its a real steal but usually, it is a fair price. Lastly, so much is diverted from Landfill. If these items went unsold, they would be carted off as garbage when they are sill very useful. I love it!

I can't begin to tell you how wonderful the Maxsold Team was to work with. After losing my husband to ALS and my mother within a year, to say I was an emotional wreck is an understatement. Unfortunately for them, I was a train wreck but they all were so compassionate and helped me threw the process of getting on with a new chapter of my life, with no excess material baggage. Thank you. Shawna, my team lead is the most understanding lady. She was my rock at a very different time. Her team was outstandingly professional. Please use MAXSOLD when you need these services! Been using Max Sold for quite awhile now and have had no issues. I called the help line to ask for an extension of pickup, they called the vendor and it worked out perfectly. I've found it easy to use, pickups are relatively easy.

Wonderful, wonderful first experience. Staff at house was so very helpful, went above and beyond to assist me! Items were exactly as described, great deal. Will be watching and bidding on many more items!

This was a wonderful experience and saved us so much time an trouble with either moving it or getting rid of a houseful of 60 some years of memories and treasures. You have proved to me that some junk can truly be someone's treasure. I was surprised by some things that sold and some that didn't. Your staff was a pleasure to work with and made it a fun couple of days plus amazed me at how organized and quickly we were set up plus the pick up day went by very fast and completely without issue. I will recommend you to everyone and anyone! FANTASTIC!

I have successfully bough AND sold with MaxSold. Being able to set your maximum bid means no buyers remorse and you can still get amazing items for fabulous prices. I managed my own auction and the customer service is fantastic. It all went so well I am doing another one now! I recommend to all my friends and family.

I have found very good offers on music items, home decorations and other objects, it seems to me that Maxsold has everything at very good prices... hopefully they will launch more offers these holidays

I was a bit unsure about MaxSold at first. I had never even heard of them before seeing a sponsored post on Facebook. Seemed to good to be true. I took a chance on an inexpensive item and everything was great! I've now won multiple lots and the experience has been near perfect. I did have one issue with an item missing from a lot but the staff on site were very helpful and professional and I received a refund within a few days. I've gotten some great stuff at an unbelievable price and I'm hooked.

Have been a buyer from Max Sold since they first came to GTA. Staff is always helpful and courteous. Have found some great finds in the lots and quite fun. Just had my first Seller Managed auction and it was easy to do. Working on my second one.

I just recently found out about MaxSold and so far I have bid and won on three auctions. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and professional. When going to pick items up, it is easy to find as they provide the address, (with links) as well as having signs outside of the pickup sights. I would highly recommend for either sellers or buyers. I look forward to seeing new auctions on their site.

The employees who were hired to photograph, describe and list the items for auction were in no way equipped to fulfill this role. The descriptions were extremely poor. Many precious antiques and other items were not described appropriately or even adequately. The auction was held for my parents, who are aged. I am disgusted that they were taken advantage of in this way. They failed in every way to assist in properly assist my parents with the auction. You should be ashamed to have people so ill equipped to represent your company. I would never, ever recommend this service to anyone.

Tip for consumers:
Keep searching for a better service or interview the representatives beforehand who will be sent to your home to list your inventory.

Won my first auction with Maxsold the other day and it was such an exciting yet simple experience. Pick up was quick and easy. Not being able to shop at thrift stores due to lockdowns had me down but finding Maxsold I can now get back to finding unique treasures to bring new life to.

I was introduced to MaxSold by a friend who was clearing out her home for a cross-country move and made my first bid. My curiosity has evolved over the year into a bit of an obsession. I'm currently furnishing a new home on a very limited budget and the majority of my "finds" have come from MaxSold... I'm spending pennies on the dollar for top quality items. The staff that greet me at the door are very pleasant, the lot are well-organized, and in one instance I had an issue with an item and, much to my relief, steps were taken that day to correct it.

MaxSold makes the whole, challenging and often emotional process of downsizing/decluttering or selling-up simple and rewarding! I've had the opportunity to work with MaxSold twice now: first with a MaxSold-managed sale of my late mother's house contents, and most recently through a seller-managed exercise in personal decluttering. Everything about the sales was professionally and efficiently managed. Moreover, when technical problems were encountered with my sale, MaxSold was quick to act in providing fair and compensatory support. I look forward to my next sale -- and would encourage anyone to do so too!

Tip for consumers:
Be prepared! Get your sale items organized before you commit to a sale as photographing and cataloguing can be very time-consuming.

We bought 2 lots of cds today. Most were just cases and no cds. You don't have the opportunity to go through 100+ cds at the site during Covid and time allotted. Found out when we got home. We spend a lot of money with this company and if they don't make it right, we will never purchase again. $40 isn't a lot but the principle is. We cannot preview before we bid but never expected to be ripped off so blatantly. Will post the resolution once they decide

I have been following MaxSold and bidding on items for several months now. The experience has been easy and fun. The process is fair and the rules are clear (if you take the time to read them) and the prices are usually very good... there are deals to be found in just about every category you can think of. I've been fortunate to win several items and have been very happy with each one. The staff at the pick up locations have been friendly and helpful. I have NEVER had a bad experience. The staff go out of their way to make your pick up go smoothly. I would highly recommend MaxSold's online auctions to anyone looking for treasures they would not normally be able to afford. Great job MaxSold!

I was initially very concerned about the mandatory opening bids of one dollar. And the bids were depressingly low until the last day. But then if I'm bidding on auction items I also wait till the end in an attempt to get the lowest price just like everyone else. MaxSold seems to have a good following and in total the auction was a financial success. I guess I'd prefer $5 minimum first bids, but that just might backfire. Overall, I'm well pleased.

The biggest issue I have is with the lack of descriptions and this is the reason I pass by without bidding on a lot of items; it's so frustrating. 1) failure to list the dimensions and identify which # is associated with the width, depth and height (not always easy to tell from a picture). 2) please describe the colour - hard to tell when it's not a very good photo and a colour may look completely different on one computer than another. 3) using the word "untested"; do you not think you would get more money if you took a second to plug in an item to see if it works; or just be honest and say not working or that it worked when last used.

Browsing auctions in my area from the comfort of my computer is awesome. It is fun to see what others have collected and offers a new and exciting platform for me to add to my collectibles... so impressed i am planing on selling with them myself soon.

I won an auction, then the owner emailed me saying that he pulled 2 items from the lot. These items were the reason I wanted the lot in the first place. So I decided not to pay and drive 200 miles for nothing, but MaxSold charged me $75 from my credit card anyway. I will report the fraudulent activity to my local DA's office. Very shady business, a general bunch of thieves and liars.

We are moving, down sizing to a house out of state. I thought using Maxsold would be our best option for paring down what we are not going to take. Our sale was small, only 46 lots, 14 of which did not sell. I am glad we opted for the hybrid sale option because otherwise we would have ended up OWING THEM money instead of getting a check for $87.26, which is about 9.2% of the total sale, as our cut. This type of service is best suited to whole house sales. We did too much work for the return value, I don't think we will be using them again.

MaxSold was built to solve a problem for sellers who were downsizing and moving, they had too many items to take with them to their new much smaller homes. We normally sell the contents of a home and have found that the average sale of 100 lots will bring the best results for our sellers. We find that the mix of items for sale, and the timing of the sale can also impact the seller results.

It's disappointing that this customer had an unsatisfactory experience - should they decide to provide more details on who they are / which auction was theirs we would be happy to follow up with them and attempt to make it right in their eyes.

I have purchased numerous items through MaxSold. It's fun and easy to purchase through their website and I have literally saved hundreds of dollars on items that would have cost so much more had I bought them retail. MaxSold has made furnishing my new home a really easy and an exciting experience.

My sister used Maxsold to downsize. The organization and videos provided before hand really help the with grouping items. Picture day went as smooth as pick up. A Maxsold employee accompanied every purchaser to the items they purchased. Verified the purchase and all we did was watch the systematic process unfold.
I recommend Maxsold for anyone needing to downsize or helping adult parents relocate.
