As a seller, I was completely satisfied with MaxSold. They were efficient with their communication with me, arrived on time to photograph the items I was putting my home on the market and needed to clear all the contents. The online auction occurred on the dates we agreed and Pick Up was arranged and was efficiently conducted. Staff was courteous and experienced. Accounting was provided quickly and to my satisfaction. I would recommend MaxSold wholeheartedly. Thank you for a job well done.

First time seller and multiple technical issues such as: - Date I picked for pickup was not the date given to purchasers - Reports online differed from reports received (kept telling me one lot wasn't paid for online) - No instructions on what to do if lot isn't picked up - App DOES NOT link to a sale you've started - Uploading photos was a challenge Reported to Maxsold and basically told to bad. They only addressed the first issue and said a confirmation email had the same date as the purchasers despite their online system showing the data I had chosen.

MaxSold never disappoints... unless you've lost out on a bid that is :) In the Ottawa region, the staff have always been friendly and helpful whenever I go to pick up auction items AND selling with them? INCREDIBLE. I ran into some user-troubles at first and within a day, a form was built for me to submit my items using a PC and photos that way too. They could not have been more accommodating or helpful. It's been a great way to clear the clutter AND purchase some interesting items without battling the snow storms.

Well after I wrote my review they reinstated me, As a buyer, I enjoy the experience of Maxsold. Being able to browse what is essentially a series of large garage sales from the comfort of my recliner, and not needing to be an early-birder to find items of interest, is very convenient. My biggest problem is controlling the impulse to buy more items than I actually need -- how can I turn down a selection of power tools for only $5?

I spend a lot of time on line. Some of that is spent browsing MaxSold for great buys on all kinds of things from furniture, knick knacks, dog stuff and artwork. This is a great company that cares about its buyers and customer service is impeccable. I have been a MaxSold buyer for about 10 years and have no complaints whatsoever. I have never been disappointed with my 'finds' and have scored some amazing bargains. It always surprises me when someone says that they have never heard of MaxSold. When it comes time to downsize, I know who to call to get it done quickly, efficiently and fairly.

I have spent thousands of dollars at maxsold auctions recently i had a purchase and due to gall bladder surgery sent my son this was not a seller managed this was maxsold he was given a box and told this is your lot after getting home items were missing i sent an email and was told they were checking with the seller and never responded with feedback. I can say in the past I have purchased and the maxsold employee say you also have this but on this occasion they did not they had no idea what was or was not in your lot. If I pay an auction fee I expect the employee to know what is mine and what is not. There are alot of other auction sites that are far more professional. I will not use this site ever again.

As a seller, trying to navigate the Maxsold experience is either A) expensive and not worth your time or B) time consumingly confusingly frustrating. Read the reviews--they are a from buyers. I do not recommend them.

I overpaid and got shafted with everything I bought from this guy (Mike New Jersey based Max Sold) He puts high value on junk. I spent a couple of hundred dollars and was thourghly coned. Skip them altogether. If you call or see or speak to a very fat guy who's name is Mike that is a King Con Artist.He skims all the good stuff and sells the low value at high prices.

It's disappointing that we provided this customer an unsatisfactory experience. Although requests made after pickup are considered on a case by case basis (as they are outside the agreed to terms and conditions of bidding noted below), we are committed to being fair to all our customers. Without more information and/or the completion of a refund form however, we cannot support this customer’s disappointment. They should reach out to support@maxsold.com to provide more clarity on their specific situation.

With that said, the following attempts to highlight the process, performance rate, and method used to avoid disappointment for all potential buyers on Maxsold's platform.

Maxsold has two models - Maxsold Managed and Seller Managed. In one offering Maxsold is never on site and therefore has no visibility of the items sold. In the other, our teams catalog and thus have a bit more awareness of the items. That said, regardless of who is cataloging, both honest mistakes and dishonest actions can occur - thus, Maxsold uses a transparent claims process that has worked for centuries in the live auction world - specifically, the buyer is to inspect the item at pickup in full view of the Seller/auction staff and/or other buyers and make a claim (partial/full refund) if the item is found to be in a condition other than what was described before leaving the site. In both models, the process is the same and is outlined in the bidder terms (www.maxsold.com/terms) and on the buyer invoice:

CLAIMS: ENSURE YOU INSPECT items at pickup (and preview if available) and IMMEDIATELY inform the MaxSold team (or Seller if Seller Managed) of any issues related to mis-cataloging of condition (remembering that you are purchasing used items in AS IS WHERE IS condition). By departing from the pickup site you acknowledge that you have all your items and that you are satisfied with them and/or have brought up issues with the Lead on site. NO CLAIMS ARE PERMITTED AFTER REMOVING ITEMS FROM THE PREMISES as condition issues cannot be validated once items are released into your possession. If required, bring an expert to validate purchases at pickup. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of the Seller.
This ensures fairness and transparency to both the buyer and the seller. When a buyer accepts an item without inspection, they are waiving any potential claim issues as, once the item leaves, there’s no way for Maxsold or the seller to know when the (potential) issue was created. Was it lost in transit? Damaged on the way home? Or is it someone trying to take advantage of the process (by ignoring a transparent opportunity to make a claim).

Bidders that accept and live by the terms love that the as is where is used goods start at $1 with the highest bidder winning. It’s a fair and transparent model for those who can accept and abide by the terms and conditions laid out (and agreed to) prior to bidding. To date, Maxsold’s error rate in selling used goods is unmatched in both the used and retail industry at less than 2% of all goods sold.

From the first auction I participated in, in Brooklyn, NY to the last one two weeks ago in NYC it has always been a crazy, fabulous experience. The employees of Max Sold are always helpful and courteous. I love that they have auctions in my area.

I was bidding on several of their auctions. I won a computer on one but they forgot to send me the pick up reminder. I therefor missed the pick up time. They refuse to release the computer and won't allow me to pick it up at all. They say I have lost it due to not picking it up as scheduled by them. I don't know how legal this is but it's an awful way to treat people.

After 3 generations and 50+ years as a family business and 10 years as an online auction company, it’s always disappointing to have a customer upset. We agree that it’s awful to treat people unfairly and it’s certainly not our intention and are sorry if this customer feels that way. Unfortunately it seems that perhaps this customer didn’t appreciate why it’s critical to make the pickup times as outlined in every auction prior to bidding. In support of reducing customer disappointment, Maxsold makes every effort to set expectations accordingly, outlining both the opportunity and the responsibility bidders have. Our bidding community provides Sellers with a finite experience that ensures items are removed on the Seller’s timeline (published prior to bidding) - and for this commitment, bidders get the opportunity to choose to bid or not with everything starting at $1 and selling to the highest bidder.

When a bidder/buyer doesn’t fulfill their obligations, they create a problem and that can come with consequences (from a loss on the purchase to removal from the bidding community). In some cases, we make exceptions (as we did in this case) to refund a bidder provided they take the time to understand their responsibilities going forward. When we do this, the buyer is refunded (at Maxsold’s cost), the Seller still has to figure out how to get rid of the item (that another bidder would have presumably been happy to purchase and remove), and we contact the buyer to explain their responsibilities so as not to create the same problem again. When a customer states we have been unfair to them when their actions are an abuse of their promise to our process, our Sellers, and our bidding community as a whole, we are forced to remove them to protect the integrity of everyone.

I often buy from MaxSold for the value. I bought a lot of 14 k gold jewelry at a recent sale and the items where even more amazing in person. A jeweler tested my ring and the stones are diamonds! For only $390 I got 4 - 14k rings - one has real diamonds, 2 - 14 kt bracelets and more. Staff is always very friendly.

Tried many time this evening to reach a live person, and could not get an operator to leave a message even. Maxsold i have sold 3 times thru you and purchased many times,,, no dozens of times thru you, and you new system sucks! I wish to advise all clients that i referral to you to run away from this site. Lordly this new site just does not work like the old site. I wish i did not referral you to so many folks as my good name is ruined with my good referrals. Maxsold should be ashamed.

Furniture at a good price. This furniture is very nice and at a good price. Without a doubt a bargain. They can be sold or bought very quickly. My brother happens to be missing some furniture and already has months telling me to get you some cheap, but good quality, no matter they are used but they are in good condition. He is the candidate

They loved the easiest of closing a business. Auctioned everything right down to the front counter. You save on storage and labor of clearing everything out! Wonderful people. They help you every inch of the way!

I am a buyer with maxsold. I have found their site, the auction well organized. The staff at the pickups are always friendly and helpful. While pickups can be busy and appear hectic they are well organized and efficient. Love dealing with them!

As I am an empty-nester and single, Maxsold has allowed me to replace my old worn out furnishing with quality items at affordable prices. I have also been able to get rid of a lot of the extra items that you somehow accumulate while raising a family in a quick and relatively easy manner. I have had mixed experiences with Maxsold employees but 95% have been friendly, helpful and professional. I have and will continue to recommmend Maxsold to both buyers and sellers.

I have bought items at several auction and have never been disappointed. The items were accurately described and I got amazing deals. Pick-up was so easy and safe. I keep going back to them to find great items.

Everything was spelled put on the site. Quick and easy to use.

My most recent purchases were mostly satisfactory. However, there was a failure to disclose damage to an item I purchased recently (a planer with a damaged cord with I likely wouldn't have purchased if I knew). Also, for that same auction, I had to wait for a very long time to enter the property, though that couldn't be helped. Most of the purchases I've made through Maxsold have been great though with easy and safe processes. I just wish there was more and better images and possibly video.

We are re-sellers and after several years and over $30,000 purchased via Maxsold we have filed for divorce over several incidence with the last 2 auctions with one giving wrong location and address (33 miles) resulting in over $ 300 wasted day and $250.00 for the purchased lot not received and the other not having several items as paid for for another $250.00.
We're done here not because of the strict policies but because of the very poor support and communication.

They should reach out to support@maxsold.com to provide more clarity on their specific situation.
That said, it is strange that this customer indicates they were sent 33 miles in the wrong direction as this would suggest a problem not just for this customer but for another ~40-80 buyers that are typically part of any given auction pickup. In a rare situation like this, we would typically have made concessions to compensate for such an error on our part.

I was skeptical at first but after bidding and winning a few lots on my first MaxSold auction, then continuing to fulfill the pick up experience, I was totally hooked. The ease and professionalism was outstanding. The assistance available if you have questions is 2nd to none; fast and courteous. I have returned to many auctions within my travelling radius and will continue to do so. I keep some of my items and I resell on local sites some of the other items and I end up making enough money to pay for the items I wanted to keep for myself so it's a total win win situation. They are simply the best at this type of thing!

I recently had an auction that sold about $1900 in items, not as good as I hoped for. But then I receive the statement from maxsold saying their fees are $1400, couldn't believe it, the way I read the site is they would receive 30 percent of the proceeds but they had to make $1000. But I was wrong, items that sold for $1 they were taking $10. Had I realized this before agreeing I never would have considered doing this. A local auction would have charged 30 percent on the proceeds, not 75 percent like maxsold. BEWARE!

Love this company! Staff is always very friendly and very helpful... truely! Pick up times are always well advertised, directions are very clear... The merchandise/auction items listed are described in detail and pictures are also pretty clear.

I have been an active user of MaxSold for a couple of months. The website is user-friendly and all the information you need is right there. I have participated in a few auctions. Ya win some, ya lose some. It's all part of the fun. I go to pick up and there is a helpful staff at every location. I even bid on something that ended up being afixed to a house and was unable to detach. No problem, I was refunded. Items have been as described, the process is as it says. Impressive.
