I have used maxsold on many occasions and have always found items as described and shown. They are organized for pick up. I would recommend highly.

On April 6,2022 I won with my bid of $55.00 a gorgeous heavy wrought iron and fabric room divider from Maxsold Auctions. On April 9 with my buyers invoice marked paid I arrived at the maxsold auction pickup and learned another buyer who purchased lamps from the auction walked out of the pickup location with his auction AND my auction purchase as well. Maxsold's attitude towards the my loss of my auction purchase was SO SAD TOO BAD. Take your refund and get out of our face... NEXT!
I refused Maxsold's offer of a refund for my stolen auction purchase and when I told them i would fight for the return of my stolen auction purchased; Maxsold cut me off at the knees and refunded my credit card in an attempt to end the matter right then and there leaving me with no other recourse than to accept the loss. When I called asking to speak with either a suppervisor or a manager i was to; ld they are all in a meeting and are not availible to come to the phone. BUYER BEWARE! If the person bidding against you loses an auction item to you... That person has the opportunity to steal your auction purchase which they desire at auction pick-up... as long as they arrive at auction pickup before you do to claim your purchase.
A maxsold employee told me this happens ALOT. And when it does happen MAXSOLD sides with the thief who stole your auction purchase!
I have bought a few times and it has always gone well for me. Easy bidding as well as easy pick up of winning bids.
I won several lots and When I went to pick them up several items were missing. Maxsold did not care and it was handled poorly.
I was attracted to MaxSold, by reading from their website, the amount of the bids they were able to get, when selling common household items from other estates, which is what we mostly had for sale here in California. We had pots, pans, baking dishes, art supplies, a massive curio cabinet, hundreds of books, hundreds of classical music cds, wine glasses, a captain's chair, etc.
Was thinking about SELLER MANAGED, but instead chose for MaxSold to do everything from start to finish, with Mark, Danesha and Di coming in, and organizing everything into Lots, photographing, putting the descriptions on line, and was in charge of the pick-up day.
VERY STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you have MaxSold do everything for you, because they know how to put the lots together so you will get bids, and do the photography and descriptions perfectly.
If you are thinking of doing it yourself, look up some existing MaxSold auctions and compare the quality of the MaxSold managed ones vs the Seller Managed? We sold items at MaxSold, with their professional help, that we could not GIVE AWAY on Craig'sList, which was very, very impressive.
On the other end of the scale, Mark from MaxSold recognized value in items we were not aware, so highlighted that in the description. So, do not take any chances by going SELLER MANAGED--and pay for the pros do it for you--and while all of the work is being done for you, then you can relax and sip some pina coladas in the shade?

Like Joshua F's review, I recently had a missing item and the way it was handled has left me no longer wanting to buy or recommend Maxsold in the DC/VA/MD area.
I came early for pick-up and found my items had already been picked up by another buyer! The site manager and worker were as shocked as I was that they were gone. My worker saw the buyers leaving earlier with it but didn't realize it was not theirs. There had been 2 lots of milk glass side-by-side, yet clearly marked with blue tape and numbers showing that they were separate lots. I know the buyers, are regulars like me. Why weren't they supervised? The site manager asked who supervised them, no one replied. Site Manager said buyers were picking up more items at a second auction that day. I was told I could go to second pick-up to see if they had it, but then a different manager said I was not to go, just wait for phone call from either her or buyers. No one ever called and the second manager didn't return my call to her later that week. So I was left in the dark for a week about where my items were. Wow, bad way to treat customers! I had to call the District Manager to find out what was going on because no one bothered to tell me. Why couldn't the Site manager have called the buyers the minute they saw my lot was gone and said hey, we think you might have accidentally taken someone else's lot when you took yours. Now buyers say they only have what they purchased. So they have now bought it from Maxsold? I was told - once buyers walk out the door (with my items), there isn't much Maxsold can do. Well, you can try supervising them like all the other auction houses in the area do! This definitely could have been prevented and I see no point in further buying when anyone can walk off with your lot.

I have picked up several items from various auctions and am pleased how organized and efficient the processes have been.
People are always friendly and helpful. Many pictures from multiple angles. Love email reminders. Maxsold is always consistent and reliable
MaxSold is easy to use. Convenient and I recommend it to all my friends. They are using MaxSold as well.

Answer: The site states clearly that you must pick up your article at the specific time and place. If you cannot do that or arrange for someone to do it for you... then don't bid.

Answer: Winning bids are charged to the credit card on file right AFTER each auction ends, along with 10% buyers premium and the applicable retail sales tax for your region. The first time you bid at any of our auctions, your card will be pre-authorized for $1.00. However, it is only a bank authorization for validation, not a charge, and it is usually removed in about a week by your bank.
