As a seller, I was completely satisfied with MaxSold. They were efficient with their communication with me, arrived on time to photograph the items I was putting my home on the market and needed to clear all the contents. The online auction occurred on the dates we agreed and Pick Up was arranged and was efficiently conducted. Staff was courteous and experienced. Accounting was provided quickly and to my satisfaction. I would recommend MaxSold wholeheartedly. Thank you for a job well done.
First time seller and multiple technical issues such as: - Date I picked for pickup was not the date given to purchasers - Reports online differed from reports received (kept telling me one lot wasn't paid for online) - No instructions on what to do if lot isn't picked up - App DOES NOT link to a sale you've started - Uploading photos was a challenge Reported to Maxsold and basically told to bad. They only addressed the first issue and said a confirmation email had the same date as the purchasers despite their online system showing the data I had chosen.
I love watching, tracking, bidding on the various auctions near me. I have won some wonderful items and the pick up process is always so easy and organized. All of this from shopping from my living room chair!
MaxSold is a unique service offered in the world of auctions. They are well organized with a long reach to your potential clients. We were faced with emptying our Mom's 5 bedroom house in a hurry. MaxSold was able to come out quickly to evaluate and catalog the items. Our sale was a 100% sold. No dreaded garage sales or trips to the consignment or donation centers. It was super easy and we made money for Mom! I will recommend them to anyone who is downsizing!
Great for locating auctions in close proximity to your location, but also across different states. Ample time to research reasonable sales price for bidding. More times than not, you get better bang for your buck, even with sales fee, tax, etc... plus lots of items boxed together for one price.
Complete easy to do step-by-step instructions to guide you in every section of selling with a list of contact employees to help answer any questions you have. I'm not very computer savy but I had no problem in setting up my own sale and was very pleased with the outcome of my sale. I sold many items at prices I would never get selling locally or online with so little effort from my own home. Thank you maxsold!

MaxSold sold all the contents of my mothers beautiful 5 bedroom home and promised her that she would make a lot of money but after everything was said and done and they took their minimum $1000, she walked away with under $200. Her furniture alone was worth way over $10,000! Do not list with max sold, they will rip you off! They don't care about making you money because they will make money regardless. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I have been using this auction site for the last several months and during this time I have found many interesting items... and even a few valuable ones for a decent price. As with all auctions, you have to be careful in how you bid and be aware that some auctions are seller managed. A while back, I won an auction lot that was missing an item but the seller/manager immediately reimbursed me. Experiences will differ based on the items for sale and the seller(s). Overall, I highly recommend MaxSold.
I have bought from 2 different max sold auctions this month and am thrilled. I got high quality items, as described for very reasonable prices. The buyers were motivated and helpful, the maxsold pictures and descriptions wre good and helpful.
The ease of bidding and purchasing to the stress relief of having your items placed, photographed, displayed and picked up is outstanding.
From descriptions to customer service, hands down the best company I have dealt with in downsizing and liquidation.

I am ADDICTED to MaxSold! What's better than bidding on local estate auctions from the comfort of your own home?! I have purchased numerous items and had nothing but pleasant experiences. They have real-time bidding, low bidding increments and multiple detailed pictures of items that are listed. Make sure to bring your own packing and/or moving material as these are not provided.
Would never use MaxSold again, and would not recommend to anyone. Their lack of consideration of our requests regarding our family holdings was unbelievable and ignored in most instances. Although we were told things would be the way we had requested, it was merely lip service to our total dissatisfaction, and not wanting to deal with it. Communication was sadly lacking between office staff and those in the field, which doesn't make for a cohesive team performance.
I have now completed two sales using the MaxSold platform, and there are accountable people at each stage to help you through the process. The online back office provides you with the contact info, name and photo of each rep that handles that stage, be it setup, social media marketing, filing end of sale report etc.

I am a first-time buyer and would absolutely participate in another auction! The prices are overall reasonable, the process is professional and organized, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I ended up winning 5 lots - all at different pickup times. Regardless, I was able to easily pick everything up and be on my way in less than an hour! One of the lots contained a wrong item (I honestly believe the buyer of a different, similar lot switched one of the items!). But upon contacting customer service for a refund, I was given prompt attention and appropriately compensated.
I can't wait for the next auction in my area!

Read the terms of use and review each auction ... everything is spelled out clearly - process, locations, pickup, photos, descriptions, bidding, etc. If you don't want to spend the current bid, or drive to the location, or rent a U-haul to pick up large items, don't bid. It's that simple.
Love love love MaxSold. Have been following, bidding and acquiring items through this online auction site for a while now. I am hesitant to write a review for fear too many people will find out about it. From heavy equipment to cleaning items, you can find it all on Maxsold.
What I like most about this format is that unlike other sites such as Ebay, it isn't a matter of who times their bid at the last second - they have dealt with that. If a bid comes in in the last two minutes, the bidding gets extended. It evens the field for everyone.
I love my unique and one of a kind purchases from MaxSold. Now I have friends and neighbours asking me to keep and eye out for specific items. When my fridge died a few months back, I was able to replace it quickly and for a fraction of the cost of what it would be on Kijiji!
Over all I was happy with this service. They had a lot of stuff to catalog and only missed one cupboard of contents. They left some items out without explanation to us. A little update on such items before leaving would be an improvement for future sales. There were some minor spelling mistakes and wrong information on a couple of items. The teams sent out were professional and personable. The final cheque came quickly by mail and I was emailed a complete listing of the sale results. I would use the service again.
It is a way to have your possessions plundered for next to nothing. My husband and I found the results very disappointing. With $1.00 minimum bids it is unbelievable that incremental bids for under $1.00 were allowed. The $700 set up fee was excessive since we had to do the grouping ourselves, which was a lot of work. On the positive side, MaxSold employees were extremely nice.
Response: In addition to taking feedback from our Seller’s and doing our best to make it right in their eyes, it’s important to provide the following information for transparency for others that may be reading this. It’s an unfortunate reality that the market doesn’t always pay a seller what a seller thinks is a fair price for individual things (or perhaps even in aggregate) under a competitive auction model (this is true for any auction company). Maxsold does its very best to provide both a detailed outline of our process (www.maxsold.com/sell) and share our past auction data (www.maxsold.com/past) to prepare sellers for the realities of the market when items must be sold. Sellers have both financial and emotional attachments to items and so our job is to sell only those items they need to part with - typically items that will soon be a liability due to a move / sale of real estate / etc. as selling the items avoids additional, ongoing, logistical and/or storage costs. Our model, which includes selling everything to the highest bidder regardless of price, guarantees our sellers a finite and transparent experience that passes the logistical burden onto the buyers as they MUST arrive and remove, with their own resources, all of their purchases from the sellers location during a short time window agreed to by the Seller. This saves hundreds (if not thousands) in labor alone.

Additionally, our experience suggests there weren’t other 3rd party sale of goods options for this seller (as others would have denied service or cherry picked goods on the basis of lack of ‘mix/fit/value’ for their models). Items with damage are not described as such. I have purchased items from them multiple times and am now just done. Items are always damaged in ways not described or pictured. Listing collectables as in good condition and not the case upon pick-up. With such relaxed rules around listings you would think they may be a little more flexible with bid removal on items like this. Nope! Beware and be vigilant with these people. They are trying to rip you off!

I have used several on-line auction sites, but this was the best experience Hands Down. The signing up and bidding was seamless, nice items( I mean I got some really nice items). The pick up was posted so I knew exactly when and where I would be getting my things. When I went to pick -up I was surprised to see all my items neatly separated, some already boxed up, and there was not a long line like I had anticipated.
One of my favorite functions, or options, is the ability to retract or lower my bid if I change my mind. Sometimes I get wild in my bidding so this has helped me out a lot.
Staff seems super nice and to enjoy their work which is nice to see. Keep it up!
Tip for consumers:
When looking at the lot use the arrow buttons on the picture to scroll left or right , because sometimes stuff is "hidden" in there you might not see!

The whole process was easy but time consuming and takes effort to photograph and organize the product. Staff was great help and professional. What I didn't like was the high commission of 30%. Commission is collected on both ends.
It should not be more than 15% in my opinion.

I have been using MaxSold for only about three months, but have had great experiences. You must be careful to look at pics and descriptions. They tell you if something is tested or not, and I have had some really pleasant surprised in mixed lots of jewelry, books, and art. They were great when I could not pick up a large item, and I will continue to have fun and collect oddities from them.
Many thanks to MaxSold for helping to manage what was an important stage in my life: downsizing from a lifetime of collecting artifacts from around the world. This was an unusual sale in many ways. The objects themselves were not the customary household goods. I was happy to see that the MaxSold marketing efforts reached the right people. It was a joy to meet the auction winners. They were truly interesting people- well traveled and excited to claim their new possessions. It made me happy to know these beloved objects were going to a good home.
Maxsold is an outstanding outfit. The two ladies that came to our home to catalog our possessions were very personable and professional. They spent several hours organizing, measuring, photographing and describing the items for sale.
The online auction website presentation is excellent as is the bidding process. They returned on pickup day to supervise and all went very smoothly. I highly recommend Maxsold to dispose of unneeded items when downsizing or liquidating an estate.
I love Maxsold. Have been using the site for over 6 months & have purchased many unique items. Staff is courteous & well organized & pickups are well monitored. Always come home with all of the items I have paid for. Occasional issues with "Seller Managed Auctions" which Maxsold has resolved, but they can't be blamed for auctions that they are not personally supervising. Love the variety of items to choose from & the opportunity it allows me to learn about categories that I personally had no knowledge of. Will continue to watch & buy product.
