As a seller, I was completely satisfied with MaxSold. They were efficient with their communication with me, arrived on time to photograph the items I was putting my home on the market and needed to clear all the contents. The online auction occurred on the dates we agreed and Pick Up was arranged and was efficiently conducted. Staff was courteous and experienced. Accounting was provided quickly and to my satisfaction. I would recommend MaxSold wholeheartedly. Thank you for a job well done.
First time seller and multiple technical issues such as: - Date I picked for pickup was not the date given to purchasers - Reports online differed from reports received (kept telling me one lot wasn't paid for online) - No instructions on what to do if lot isn't picked up - App DOES NOT link to a sale you've started - Uploading photos was a challenge Reported to Maxsold and basically told to bad. They only addressed the first issue and said a confirmation email had the same date as the purchasers despite their online system showing the data I had chosen.
I have been buying items at Maxsold auctions and have never had any problems with the items purchased. They were all as pictured, sometimes even better with even more value. The one time the lot was less than advertised (two cup had been broken and repaired), Maxsold offered me a complete refund. I was happy for a partial refund and it was delivered promptly back into my account. It's a great company to deal with and they are very clear about how they operate. I trust them and feel very confident dealing with them.
I just bought and picked up my items from a MaxSold auction and they are mediocre at best. When we arrived at the pick up location I was shocked at how filthy things were and what a jumbled mess of bid lots there were scattered around the house. I managed to win chairs but lost the table auction in the last few minutes so to be fair I was not overly excited about my winnings. We won the auction of 8 dining chairs and while the bid made me believe one chair was missing a screw what was actually true is that it was missing several screws and in pieces. With the number of lots and 3 pick up times, in Cambridge MA, pick up was a bit of a challenge. First to find parking and second to navigate through a tiny house as it was being torn apart. Max sold could have done a better job of organizing the pick up lots by time to accommodate traffic flow. It is doubtful that I will use them again as the prices in the auction get raised above value doubly so for sight unseen pieces.
Most of my purchases here have been with the intent to re-sell for profit. And it is working. If someone can spend a buck and turn it into $30, or spend $800 and turn it into $3500- I think that's pretty good. Better than any bank can offer. It's a lot of work sometimes- researching items, picking up, finding places to store it, listing them for sale... but for me- it's been a blast and a new part time venture.
I have used maxsold for over 2 years now and about 10 different auctions and have had fast friendly service everytime we go pick up our merchandise. The photo's and descriptions on the auction website are accurate and the products we have purchased have always been in great working order. I would highly recommend this sight, you can get quality used merchandise at very reasonable prices and the attendants at the site are quick and helpful in showing you where your lots are located.
Maxsold is an excellent business model and sure beats any garage sale I have ever had. This type of auction allows people to shop in the comfort of their own homes and see the types of items they are interested in with great descriptions and photos of each item. I am Maxsold on this idea and will certainly be using this for my future clearouts, estate sales and any other time I wish to sell my goods for the best price ever.

We had a downsizing sale and prior to this my wife and I thought we could tackle my parents lifetime of buying and collecting. So wrong - met a fantastic rep named Kelley G at a networking event. A few months later her team showed up, catalogued everything quickly and efficiently over 2 days. Had the sale a week later and cleaned house. The extra cash was a bonus. Great job guys!
My friend referred me to MaxSold because she used their services to downsize. She was very happy with the process and results. So am I! We both chose to have MaxSold handle the auction from start to finish. MaxSold has a lot of on-line information to help you prepare for Catalog Day. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. They really do want you to have a secure and successful auction. We met some great people and had fun with the process. I highly recommend MaxSold as a way to downsize without a lot of pain on your part. Much easier to clean out the house this way, rather than trying to sell each piece using other online or social media tools that leave you doing all the work.
My wife and I have done two "seasonal purge" auctions instead of the typical yard sale in the spring and fall. So far, we have found that the MaxSold process gets everything gets sold so that none of our time is wasted managing leftovers. For those that value their time, I think this is a really great way to protect it when you want to sell a volume of items fast!
This was our 4th Max Sold sale but first time using their team to catalog and manage the pickup. I could not be happier with the experience. From the initial back of house setup to the onsite team, the entire process was very efficient and the Max Sold team members were very professional and actually fun to work with. Leslie who was the lead on site was solid, she organized our lots well and I believe enhanced our sales. The rest of the team were enthusiastic and showed interest in what we were selling and were very supportive for what is normally an emotionally challenging process for an estate sale. I love the ability to browse auctions to find items unique to my circumstances and then refining my bidding to win the item. The follow up pickup procedure has been perfect 9 out of 10 times. And for the 1 unpleasant pickup experience, Maxsold had recourse paths to resolve that experience. Maxsold offers a safe environment for bidders.

I never heard of MAXSOLD so I was a bit nervous to sign up. There was an auction in my neighborhood so I decided to give it a shot. Well it turned out better than I could of expected. Good pictures, easy bidding, fast invoices sent and emails reminding me when to pickup my items. I've been to many estate sales and if your not the first one in the door all the good stuff is gone. With MAXSOLD you have a shot at everything without the standing in line waiting... So read the rules and sign up and bid. It's worth it..
I love the idea of maxsold and the fact that it gives people a way to find unique items and a chance to get these items at great deals. I've recently started to collect unique vintage items, I've had great luck with maxsold. You have to pay close attention to the lots and lot details of everything you are considering bidding on and have the availability to pick up the items. I have purchased items from a few auctions where maxsold has people onsite, generally these folks are very polite and helpful if and when possible.
I am so thankful that I went with MaxSold. They really know what they are doing. The people they sent out to organize my estate sale and photograph it were really top notch and knew how to put the lots together. Not only were they thorough, on time and hardworking (no fooling around); they also were kind and considerate in their dealings with me and my items. They understood that some items had sentimental value and I needed an hour or so to decide whether or not to let it go. Moreover, everyone in the company was available to answer my questions, including the CEO! Unbelievable service. I could never have managed this sale myself. It is well worth the money to have 98% of my items sold and moved out of the house! I made much more than I expected from the sale. I'm very happy!
Positives first
MaxSold was communicative. Staff were professional and courteous at all times. I felt safe during Covid. We sold all but 19 lots and achieved the good "clear out" that we hoped for.
Concerns
The lots were random. Bins full of power tools with no clear idea of what was in them in the photos. $500 worth of craft supplies in one lot. (Got $16.00). $700 fee and commissions meant that we only received $450 when everything was settled.
Conclusion
If you want to make a little bit of money while getting rid of a LOT of stuff in a short period of time, USE THEM
If time is not of the essence and you want a discerning approach to the your items that will ensure a higher return DON'T USE THEM.

I have been a buyer on e-Bay and Craigslist. When I first saw MaxSold, I was skeptical. To register, you have to give a credit card number. Hmm...
I read the reviews here carefully and went to one of the addresses whose content is being auctioned off. Finally I registered and bid on an item just to test the waters.
The whole process went very well. I bid $2 on a bookcase. I was busy when the bidding ended (when generally most of the action occurs). So I set a max bid limit of $25.
The next day, I learned my $2 bid had won. The pickup process went very smoothly too. The directions were perfect. Staff had built ramps over steps and provided dollies for moving heavy and bulky items. Very efficient, helpful and friendly.
In less than 10 minutes we were heading home.

I love MaxSold and have purchased some great pieces of art, a trombone, riding lawn mower, and the most unique items. Pick up is a breeze and typically very friendly like meeting neighbors at a yard sale. Nothing ever perfect but Maxsold is as close as it gets.
If you are buying as a reseller I believe this site is a dream come true. Things to buy for dirt cheap that will make a huge profit.
If your the seller you might want to think again.
If you just want everything hauled off & don't care about losing a small fortune let me say this is the auction site for you.

I have been shopping on Maxsold for several months now. I love the no reserve policy, and have been able to buy lots of high end items for my house that I otherwise couldn't afford. The teams at the pickup are always efficient and friendly, and the whole process gives the items being sold new life in a new home where they will continue to be used and loved. We love going to garage sales, but we're looking for something a little different. We stumbled onto Maxsold looking for Estate sales or auctions to attend. We weren't sure how online auctions would work, but pretty quickly we fell in love with it! We found some much great stuff and at such great prices! We've found stuff from our childhood or stuff that our grandparents had. Even some unusual items like a marionette. And the pick up process has been easy and friendly. I find Maxsold offers a variety of sales ranging from Antiques to Modern pieces. I had a dispute about a listing on books and they corrected it right away with there maxsold form. In 3-4 years of buying so much from this site, it has been very good.
I have been enjoying MaxSold for almost two years now, and my experience with each and every auction has been excellent. By using a credit card up front, there's no hassle with pickup! The staff has always been so friendly and helpful, and so professional. By having different pickup times for each of the items, waiting in line to get to my items has never been a problem, even when I have items in all three designated pickup times! I have gotten some really great buys through these auctions and plan to continue to "shopping until I drop" with them! I highly recommend MaxSold!

You can really find some good deals at all of the different auctions. I usually only bid on items that are within 25 miles of my home, but if I see something good, which is all the time, I will go anywhere. The bidding process is super easy and pickup is usually on a Saturday or Sunday morning to afternoon.
This was my first auction with MaxSold. I liked the idea of the auction itself, but some belongings that are known to be of more value should start at a higher price instead of $ 1.00 dollar. It would be more beneficial to have the auction run longer instead of just one week. Needless to say, I made approximately 350.00 dollars and Maxsold took $ 300.00 and sent me a check for $ 50.00 dollars. Highway robbery. I Will not do this again.
I've bought several items from Maxsold. Mostly glassware. And that's the problem. They do not go into any detail about the condition of the glass. Recently I bought a Lot of glass, they described on piece with a chip on the base. But never disclosed the other items that had multiple chips! Count on throwing out about a one third too one fourth of the glassware.
Lt very frustrating. The glassware i bought was from a recent Cambridge Mass. Sale, that ended a week ago today. I won't be buying anything Glass Related again. Someone should tell them MORE DETAILS PLEASE.
It's disappointing that we provided this customer an unsatisfactory experience. Although requests made after pickup are considered on a case by case basis (as they are outside the agreed to terms and conditions of bidding noted below), we are committed to being fair to all our customers.
The following attempts to highlight the process, performance rate, and method to avoid disappointment for all potential buyers on Maxsold's platform.
Maxsold has two models - Maxsold Managed and Seller Managed. In one offering Maxsold is never on site and therefore has no visibility of the items sold. In the other, our teams catalog and thus have a bit more awareness of the items. That said, regardless of who is cataloging, both honest mistakes and dishonest actions can occur - thus, Maxsold uses a transparent claims process that has worked for centuries in the live auction world - specifically, the buyer is to inspect the item at pickup in full view of the Seller/auction staff and/or other buyers and make a claim (partial/full refund) if the item is found to be in a condition other than what was described before leaving the site. In both models, the process is the same and is outlined in the bidder terms (www.maxsold.com/terms) and on the buyer invoice:
CLAIMS: ENSURE YOU INSPECT items at pickup (and preview if available) and IMMEDIATELY inform the MaxSold team (or Seller if Seller Managed) of any issues related to mis-cataloging of condition (remembering that you are purchasing used items in AS IS WHERE IS condition). By departing from the pickup site you acknowledge that you have all your items and that you are satisfied with them and/or have brought up issues with the Lead on site. NO CLAIMS ARE PERMITTED AFTER REMOVING ITEMS FROM THE PREMISES as condition issues cannot be validated once items are released into your possession. If required, bring an expert to validate purchases at pickup. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of the Seller.
This ensures fairness and transparency to both the buyer and the seller. When a buyer accepts an item without inspection, they are waiving any potential claim issues as, once the item leaves, there’s no way for Maxsold or the seller to know when the (potential) issue was created. Was it lost in transit? Damaged on the way home? Or is it someone trying to take advantage of the process (by ignoring a transparent opportunity to make a claim).
Bidders that accept and live by the terms love that the as is where is used goods start at $1 with the highest bidder winning. It’s a fair and transparent model for those who can accept and abide by the terms and conditions laid out (and agreed to) prior to bidding. To date, Maxsold’s error rate in selling used goods is unmatched in both the used and retail industry at less than 2% of all goods sold.
