I would give it 5 stars, but they added seller fees on top of paying taxes. A $9 item would earn you $3. Seems so unfair. But other than that, my items sell fast and I have made quite a bit selling on here.
This web site is terrible. They have pictures of the item but sends you something totally different. For example. The bags are clearly vintage but you receive a brand new fake bag plastic bag. They have so many sellers websites doing this. They are are usually shipping out of Chino, California. You order one thing and receive another. They don't refund money instead they credit.
Spent 3 months on site, grossed over $3k, 5 stars, 100% positive reviews. I'm co-owner of luxury merchandise and my employees are also being kicked off. They do not use any of my information, products are all authenticated within mercari. Soon as sale is made they close the account. The biggest issue is after accounts are closed they send information to other buy/sell sites which gives me hell trying to sell. Yes we have a company site however marketplace shops are excellent source for our products to be seen. We still follow rules, we do not talk about our boutique or give information to send buyers to our site, we pay all the fees like everyone else. Not only is money being held but we are losing credibility with other marketplace Ecommerce sites. Big issie
Basically a $#*!ty yardsale. Everyone wants things for $5. So much fake makeup and purses. Oh and if you even say a wrong word on the app, their $#*!y customer service people will "kindly" correct you. Poshmark is 1000% bettee
Customer service is so so one time it's good then next person sounds like a 5th grader. Mercari has no phone number to contact them. They take 10% of your sale but cant spring for customer REAL service via phone? AND to top it off the apps not compatible with both my tablet & I pad!?
Only my phone is comparible which makes it more difficult since my phone dosent take great pics. Which in return can cost you sales... which equals money. I prefer Ebay BUT whatever your selling theres ******* other people selling the same item hence me using Mercari.
I bought floodlights from seller after he accepted my offer. I completely paid for the item and waiting for having it shipped. Very next day a seller cancelled the order and sold it to someone with more money. Later stated that I should have paid more with ring camera. Later he blocked me from buying anything. I complained mercari about this what he did and showed all proof sadly mercari didn't anything about this wrong doing and let seller have selling account. Seller account info: rjh. I purchased five items and not reciprocated any of them! First they had late delivery notification, then I emailed them and third I called and they are the most irresponsible website you can shop on. Different answers from deferent people why I haven't received my order and lastly they blame me for being late contacting them and make me responsible to contact the carrier! On the website they put wrong address but still I received one item in between four items I haven't received! Do not truest or sell or purchase on Mecary!

Used to love mercari, have been using it for a few years now. I recently bought a pair air jordans off here. When they arrived, they were clearly not the ones shown in the picture - they're reps, and pretty bad ones too. I requested a refund (something I have done before with no problem), and provided pictures from every angle very clearly showing what was wrong with the item. After waiting a day, they finally responded, saying I had to provide even more photos, which wouldn't have been an issue, but I was visiting family for the weekend and couldn't send them within 24hr. I asked if I could have longer and they told me I could, then closed my return request after the original 24hr window.
I can say a lot about Mercari! First, I definitely not recommend to use this platform for sellers! They don't have customer service and support at all! Competitors can easily report that you sell counterfeit items and Mercari delete your listing immediately. Even if you will send them proves... they can suspend your account unreasonably, based on someone opinion. Mercari makes things too complicated! When you register, it takes few minutes. After I sent them proves that my item is authentic, they requested ID verification, after that-Checking account ID verification. You should scan you passport, driver license or UD, then make selfie! It's rediculous. No one platform makes the things like that! And believe me, doesn't make sense to email them. You receive robotics answers by someone's name. They don't take care and don't even try to figure out what's going on! Don't use Mercari!
Seller canceled my purchase without any note or explanation, and then blocked my account so I couldn't communicate to ask why. No penalty for the seller. Mercari has no customer service. Total waste of time. Reading other reviews, apparently it's common practice for sellers to not ship items on the site. Very disappointing.

I bought a lot of clothing on Mercari from seller Brittany&Josh, I paid immediately and the sale was confirmed. Five minutes later my transaction was canceled and the lot was relisted a short time later at a higher price. I was sent a message saying the uncle wanted it listed at a high price. I said that was a poor business practice and they said they didn't care. I've had transactions canceled a few times only to see them relisted later at higher prices.
The buyers on Mercari becomes a scam as well. The buyer acted as if she wanted to purchase a item she even directed me where to buy the vanilla go card at Walmart. My mind was so vulnerable at the time going through other issues in my life not thinking the buyer scamming with Mercari to get more money After purchasing my gift card, buyer or Mercari doesn't exist. Please help. I just want my refund to continue to take care my babies. Also Mecari blocked all our messages which is still shown in my email. They have multiple emails an most of them are scams

Paid $111.00 on the 2nd only to have seller cancel on 4th. Had no clue as no email. Weeks to get my money back, yet taken from my acct in seconds! How unfair. As the one who lost out, they should act promptly. Past had no refund on broken, counterfeit item as only a 3 day window to get it back. Watch didn't even work. I'm sure some good sellers (experienced a few plus I am an honest seller) things happen but this is unacceptable. Gave several chances, no more! Goodbye Mercari. Please send my refund!
I've had really good experiences with this site/app both as a buyer and a seller. They charge a fee of 10% to the seller and release the funds within 3 days of the buyer receiving the item, or when review reciprocation is complete (the buyer provides a positive review plus seller provides a positive review of the buyer), whichever comes first. I've had no problems with any of my sales or purchases except I could not get a coupon code to work on my first order. I found out later that it was because the coupon worked only on the app, and not on the website. This site is a great alternative to eBay and other online stores.

Mercari cut me permanently because of a credit card situation that happened having to do with my credit card. Someone had stolen the card and racked tons of money using Mercari. They didn't want to hear that and cut me off for good. Don't bother with these people. They're just as crooked as Ebay is. No other online shopping website does what theses low class jackasses did. I explained the situation to them thoroughly and the next day with no warning whatsoever they cut me off from buying and/or selling on their website. They don't care about the customer only how much they can fit in their wallets. I was humiliated and embarassed. If you don't want what happened to me than don't do business with this website.
They say they offer $200 shipping insurance so sellers can feel comfortable shipping items, but they find every way to get out of protecting sellers' items if they are damaged during shipping. First time buyers can claim damage and get to keep the item for free. Ridiculous!
I would give -1 star if I could. They banned my Account for no reason and said I can get the deposit after 180 days.
Okay, so I waited and the release date finally came. I receive an email from Mercari saying "you can request a direct deposit now, and we will delete your account after the deposit". So I was try to logging in the app and found the app logged me out automatically already, then I'm not able to login again. So I reset my password 5 times, even use a password easy like "qqqqqq", the app still give me message saying invalid email or password.
Well, obviously, they delete my account and rob my money in the account. Well play Mercari
Mercari is totally partial to buyers. There is no protection for sellers whatsoever.
They allow blatant lies to be posted on the seller's feedback destroying the reputation of the seller and harming their prospective sales. By Mercari's own admition 'other sellers have asked for a change in rating policy' but for now 'they're unable to remove or modify any feedback after it's been posted'. They actually send you to deal with your own hostile buyer yourself!
If I'd be Mercari owner I would think twice how to resolve such conflicts when it's actually the sellers who brings them profit. Moving on to other platforms! Goodbuy Mercari!
I ordered a set of DVD's and was sent the wrong DVD's. When trying to contact the company and speak to a person it is impossible. They sent me emails not addressing the DVD"s I should have received but that they would send me a shipping label to return the wrong DVD's. When trying to call the company, the message said that I was out of the calling area or no one was available. Not pleased at all :(( (

Used mericari in japan, only really good for selling small items. High shipping cost for non small items makes this non economical. You will encounter Ppl begging for half the asking price and requesting authenticity for products that are 10years old.

ZERO customer service! Just a runaround. They grab your money and then will not answer questions! No way to contact the actual seller, just the corporation via email and then it is a runaround over a period of days with no answers!

Please avoid Mercari app completely if you guys are serious sellers as i already had my experience. I sold a preowned authentic LV $780 handbag on Mercari. A buyer bought it and scammed that she received a different one, she took photos from hers and sent them to Mercari. After Mercari did there "Investigation", they deciced to refund to her while i received back a used dirty extremely poor condition which like a trash bag. I have been with Mercari for years, having over hundreds of sales, making money for them and helping them build a better Community for buyers and sellers. This is what i received from Mercari, worst experience that never be forgotten.

I didn't receive a purchase even though post office says delivered. Seller insured it but Mercari won't credit my credit card and will only give credits to their site for future purchase. They tell me to work with the post office. The post office isn't going to do anything for me. It's the seller who shipped and had the insurance. This is not the first time post office didn't deliver a package to its intended party. Do not buy from them. They are not honest and do not want to work with a customer!
Buyers and sellers be aware. They will suspend and revoke you in the blink of a eye without explaining! And accuse you of such horrible things without ever asking you! Customer service is impossible! They take 10 percent of the sales and take forever to respond which is never a detail response always super vague and normally unhelpful in my experience! You can never be careful enough! Rank up 100s of great rating for them just to take it all in blink of a eye for false assumptions on there part!
There is no help. I try to edit my listings and get errors. No way to find out why. I have 2900 listings on Poshmark I guess they don't want any of them. They won't let me sell Gucci shoes that I paid hundreds for at estate sales. Only help I found was for only 2 reasons that had nothing to do with why I couldn't lower a sales price. Don't have time to try and find impossible help

After being on Poshmark you would appreciate Mercari. I love that you have options with shipping and that there's no commission fee currently. I also like that you can leave feedback or send a dispute straight to support. For myself I have had a decent costumer service experience may twice. Twice they refunded me although one time an item I bought was against their rules (didn't know). That was awesome of them. I also like how you can message a buy or seller once you made a purchase. I would recommend them but I do not recommend buy or selling anything expensive on these apps because I'm sure no company wants to refund that much money although they should. I personally chose to stay away from buying/selling anything too expensive. Luckily for me I have had mostly great experiences and just a few bad out of about 20 purchases and only 5 sells. Simple app I like it. Hope it will add a feature where you could use emojis that's one thing I did like about Poshmark.
Buyer cancelled the sale after receiving the item. Mercari reimbursed but I have not received my item in return. I have been reporting the issue for 7 days now, and only get apologies for inconvenience! Mercari is not serious about protecting sellers.
