I've had a wonderful time buying and selling on Mercari! It's been better than using Depop and other services at times. I used to sell items very quickly on here and I've been able to buy some authentic rare items for cheaper here. PLEASE make this service available in Puerto Rico. I no longer live in Florida so I can't use the website anymore. It was my favorite selling/buying service. USPS considers Puerto Rico "domestic" USPS for labels, so it should be possible to use Mercari, but it's not allowed yet… Hopefully in the future…
I have 255 positive reviews as a seller with no negative reviews. I had an lying buyer buy a lululemon vest that was brand new from me. She must've worn it for a couple days and spilled paint on it. Than claims 3 days later after it arrived that it was full of white paint spots. I showed pics to mercari how my item arrived in excellent condition ans how it looked before and no response and they refunded the buyer and is having her mail it back to me damaged! They are awful! Customer service & takes days to get back to you and no help! I'm done with them
I shipped an item sold using the shipping label that Mercari told me to use. While the buyer signed for the item upon receipt, Mercari claims that the item was lost by FedEx, I got NO money for the item. They decline to investigate the case or pay me for the item. This is FRAUD.

Seller accepted my offer bid but couldn't process my payment. I tried to contact seller. You cant contact a seller until you verify your phone number. Well Mercari will not accept VOIP phone numbers or prepaid phone numbers.
What insanity. VOIP phones are about the only land line type phones in use today and I only use a prepaid Tracfone. I cant contact the seller he cant contact me. I tried a Discover Card and my PayPal account checking and credit cards. It will not accept anyone of them. I gave up and will never use mercari again.
And the poor seller is in the dark about whats going on

I have had very few issues buying or selling on Mercari until recently... in the past 3 weeks I have bought probably 15 items and have had 5 of them cancelled by the seller AFTER SEEING THEM RELISTED FOR A HIgher amount! The seller agreed to a price with me and then some snakey buyer messages the seller and offers more... done sellers tell you flat out that's what's happening... other just cancel and ignore u... it's BS... a sale is a contract and buyers can't renig but sellers on Mercari can... They say they penalize them if they have too many canceled sales yet I see sellers who have sold one item and cancelled 12 items and they're still selling! So I don't really think there are rules in place to prevent this... and until there are, I don't think I want to use the site anymore...

Mercari is an absolute nightmare to work with. I have been fighting for two months to get a refund for an item I NEVER received. They denied my request and released my money to the seller when i received AN EMPTY BOX! You have to respond to an email they never sent in the first place within 24 or they automatically deny your claim. Please, do not do business on this app unless you want to have your money basically stolen from you.

Seller sent wrong item. It is extremely difficult to contact customer service. You have to jump through many hoops just to get an email address. There is no phone number to be found anywhere. I sent photos and asked for correct item to be sent. The response I received was that my only option was to return the wrong item for a refund and this must be done within 3 days. Then I received an email saying my ticket was resolved and closed. No, it is not! I explained that I don't want a refund and I certainly do not want the hassles of printing a shipping label plus another errand to post office. I asked again for the correct item to be sent. I was told that the return is the only option. Shockingly horrific management and service. This entire operation is a scam. DO NOT BUY FROM MERCARI. COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE. YOU HAVE NO RECOURSE.

I don't remember how I found this app, it was OK at first but then I had gotten the warning for conversing with the seller about my email. After she answered my question about a model number of an item and voluntarily told me she had another one unfortunately, it was not the same one, and I was not interested, I don't know why they made a big deal out of it because the sellers have directly emailed me and have access to that info in any case, I purchased approximately 15 things in a period of three weeks. One of those items was missed delivered as you can see by the photo after insistence my claim I was finally given a credit. Customer service was TERRIBLE They didn't respond but we're very quick to point out the email issue they stopped answering my requests for a status to restore my account and eventually closed it without asking me anything speaking to me about the issue, trying to find out more information and consequently, my credit was also apparently closed. Even though they claim on their website, then a seller has three days to send you the item. Somebody had me wait for four weeks and then Mercari canceled it and that was the item that I wanted the most and waited patiently instead of canceling it, myself, they should pay more attention than that! This is the worst website I've ever seen!
I've never had a problem with eBay or Poshmark.

I would've given them 0 stars if possible. Ordered a North face duffel bag. Paid thru PayPal. THANK GOD FOR PAYPAL. Never got an email confirmation from mercari. Found it to be strange. Next morning paypal send me email stating that I was charged for an item from Mercari. Whites 5 days and still no email about this product. Contact Mercari and they tell me to look in my file for the order purchase. But there was none. Found that strange. Tried explaining that to the customer rep via email and they said there's nothing they can do for me. I contacted PayPal and put in a claim. Waiting now for my refund. NEVER BUY FROM MERCARI. THEY HA E SCAMMERS ON THERE. GO ELSEWHERE TO SHOP PLEASE!

I've been using p-mark but decided to try Mercari since many ppl mention it. Sold an item, at discount, print the label. I go to drop off and the shipping company they specified refuses to ship. No option to change or update lable. I guess they learned not to do business with Mercari. I had anothrr user hit on me. And the admins delete msgs as they like. I let the seller know package was refused - Mercari deleted it. Like, really? It's complete BS

I joined Mercari in January of 2018, so I've been using this platform for almost a year now. I have really enjoyed buying and selling both on here! The app is very user friendly. I have been able to find a variety of items when buying (sometimes things I wasn't even looking for haha) and have sold things that I impulse bought and couldn't return! I HAVE made money on this site and I have been able to withdraw this money to my actual bank account! If you are on the fence about it, please give it a try!

I ordered a pair of black flats ladies shoes from a seller. They fell apart while wearing them the first day! The soles split from the upper part and the buckled hung off! They had been held together for shipping by two sided tape! On closer inspection, there were places where the vinyl was coming off and hanging there in several places in the shoes. I have tried and tried to get a hold of Mercari to get my money back but no one ever writes back. WARNING: DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS DISREPUTABLE COMPANY.

I purchased what was called a David Yurman necklace from Mercari. A few months later I took the necklace to a David Yurman store to have the length made longer. Their jewekers refused to work on it as they said it was not authentic David Yurman merchandise. DY does not provide documentation. I contacted Mercari they would not help unless I paid for an appraisal and they would not help beyond 30 days since the purchase. BEWARE!

I searched for a discontinued item and found it on Mercari so I took a chance and purchased it. Big mistake. Item came promptly but it is not at all what I ordered. I ordered a nail polish and got sent a setting spray. I've tried using their return system on my phone and two different computers and it says to put my information into a form that doesn't f***ing exist! I've now been on hold for over half an hour (they keep telling me during the hold music to call back during normal business hours but IT IS NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS IN THE PACIFIC TIME ZONE THEY MENTION). I think I'm just screwed and am not gonna get my money back or the actual product I ordered. It's BS. DO NOT USE THIS SITE.

They say they protect their sellers but they offer no help! I sold an item and used 2 bubble packages and also wrapped the item in bubble wrap, the buyer claimed it came broken! No pictires no nothing, she wanted a refund, she requested a shipping label from them, they approved it she sent the item back. However they issued her refund without me even getting the item back! Wtf! What if she used it? What if it's not even the same item I shipped to her? They just issued it without even making sure it's ok! Do NOT sell on this bull$#*! app!

Stay far, far away from theeis sham of a business! I purchased an item on January 26 and got notice of it shipping February 1. When there was no tracking available (usps said label was created but no product) I messaged the idiot that I bought from. Next day I received an email stating seller cancelled order because of problem with paypal payments. Wtf? 11 days, order confirmed and shipped on my page, no communication with idiot seller and then an email saying its cancelled. When I attempted to contact mercari... hahahahahahahaha... on hold for 10 minutes only to be told too many calls on hold and goodbye. Wow... both this seller and this business are horrible and I suggest to make your purchases aanywhere but here.

I've been using Mercari for a long time, with over 150 transactions (buying and selling). Recently I purchased a Dyson Hair Dryer. When it arrived, I went online to register the device with Dyson. The item popped up a different model based on the serial number & was marked with no warranty. Alarmed, I called Dyson to see what was going on and found out the machine is listed as Stolen/Fraudulent. After several emails to Mercari with no response, I contacted my credit card and opened a claim. Mercari then suspended my account. It's been over a week and Mercari is still letting this person sell stolen/fraudulent Dyson hair dryers and will not allow me to use the app, even though I returned the hair dryer to the seller. Way to punish the buyer and reward the seller. Very disappointed and disgusted with the lack of ethics, communication and follow through with this company. When a customer reached out 3 times requesting a call, listing a phone number to discuss what to do with stolen/fraudulent items being received and receiving nothing but an automated response is just plain horrible.

I've been selling on this site. So far I've lost over $300. The concepts and the idea of it and the low Consignment percentage is the only reason why I keep using it. Their site is not clear to use their rules are not cleaR. Honestly I feel that they really don't give a $#*! about their sellers at all They don't give coupons but it's far and in between the actual dissatisfy cas they don't give coupons but it's far and in between the actual distain I get over and over again. This is why I sell and I will never buy

I sold my prom dress on this app, got the money for it. I requested to get the money transferred to my bank account and eventually the money did get transferred. Litterally ONE day after my money got transferred, it was gone. I check my bank summary on my bank's app and it says that the money was taken out by Mercari, now this doesn't make sense because I never took the money out let alone there was no reason for them to take it out considering the buyer gave me a good rating and still has my dress? I contacted my bank and they are trying to help me get my money back. Wouldn't ever trust this app again I would never use it. Unless you want to get robbed, I would stay away from this app!

Mercari has the WORST customer service I've ever experienced for ALL websites or apps. They never answer your call and no reply to your voice message left. When you have an issue related to your account, they either have no reply, or they never solve the issue for you.
