They do not resolve issues fairly. A buyer bought my new item damaged it (looks like their dog chewed it) they said they wanted to return it, Mercari approved their return and basically said the decision is final. So basically someone can damage a new item that you can prove was new and say that it was not as described and you as a seller have no protection. So you not only lose the sale you lose the ability to sell your item because the buyer either switched the item or lied. I suggest selling elsewhere.
I have been scammed on Mercari twice within two months. The first time involved a seller not disclosing that the item was complete. It was sold as complete, but wasn't. My return was denied. Recently, I sold an item and the buyer, swapped out the item for the same, non-working item. Mercari allowed it. So basically, if you want to scam people, Mercari does not care. For those who are looking to sell, be wary. They will not listen to you and Mercari is no different than eBay. Find another place to sell.
They clearly don't care about the client toy receive an item broken in pieces and you send them 10 pictures not good enough. Horrible customer service and they clearly don't care about anyone but themselves don't care if you cut yourself taking ******* pictures.
Searched on line for children's recordable books, was directed to Mercari, ordered a Scooby-Doo book for my seven year old grandson, what I received was a recordable book that didn't work at all, they sent me a notice telling me not to rate the transaction if I wasn't satisfied, instead I was to notify them within three days and they would look into it. I followed their instructions and they said they would get back to me. The next correspondence from them informed me that I wasn't eligible for a refund, but they would give me Mercari credits. My response to them was, why would I want to do business with someone that takes my money and sends me trash? So far they are ignoring my request for a full refund.
If you buy a item that the seller did not list all defects you can not work it out with the seller like you can eBay. You must send everything back no matter what if you can. Most sellers do not list most defects so you are on your own. You can not call, talk or reason with anyone.
Please be aware while selling on M. They closed my accnt and they said any balance will be held indefinitely 7 minutes later after receiving a letter from my lawyer: they said your funds are now avail. So you know what to do in case you need to get them to act
This company or sender sent me a damaged item and refuses to give me a refund. Beware of this company. They are very difficult to deal with and they send you crap and they do not hold their sellers accountable for sending broken or damaged items.
Mercari customers are now scamming sellers and mercari is also stealing from sellers.Its best to not sell on this site. I am trying to get rid of some old stuff but once Im finished I am done with them. This is not a good to place to sell anymore. They say there are bogus usps charges will steal your whole sale.
I sold an item on friday, shipped it out monday, and it was received and five star rated on wednesday. It is now the following wednesday (7days after rating) and I am still waiting for my money! If you can avoid this site please do so, they are the worst. Try Depop.
We had to make a claim to our credit card company, because the product showed up damaged and in stead of returning our money they quit emailing back (note no phone number to call) and closed our account. We made a claim to the credit card company and after 6 weeks the credit card company refunded our money saying they found in their investigation a error had occurred.
Mercari keeps sending us emails now asking us to return to their site because we have not purchased lately.
Don't waste your time or loan this company money, we wasted a lot of time to recover $25.00, but if we had disputed this they would have gotten away with it. How many other people have they done this to?
