Initially customer service gave me some trouble due to mistaken identity, however the (frustrating) problem was resolved. I must say that I enjoy the simplicity of Mercari. It is a more streamlined method of buying and selling than Ebay.

“Seller fraud”

This web site is terrible. They have pictures of the item but sends you something totally different. For example. The bags are clearly vintage but you receive a brand new fake bag plastic bag. They have so many sellers websites doing this. They are are usually shipping out of Chino, California. You order one thing and receive another. They don't refund money instead they credit.

Everything you write people you get suspended. Feel like this is high school all over again. A guy asked where I am from I told him I get suspended. I told a guy I was going to order more products to sell I get removed! Wtf is that!

I sold a book on mercuri and didn't know right away until I was notified later, I sent the book the buyer was thrilled and the funds were never released. I refunded the money to the buyer because I would rather give the book away than have mercuri keep all the money.

I purchased a modem and it was never shipped even though Mercari said it was. After both myself and Mercari contacted the seller LeggoDaEggo there was no response from the seller and Mercari insisted my order was shipped and I received it. I live in Connecticut and they claimed I received it in Illinois so they paid the seller and told me my order was completed. After several emails and phone conversations with different team members I was given a supposedly credit on my account and a coupon for 25% off my next purchase. That never showed on my account. After many emails and phone calls I was able to get my money back but I will never use this company again. I also would stay clear of a seller known as LeggoDaEggo.

Tip for consumers:
Stay clear of this site. They are totally incompetent almost to the point of fraudulent.

BEWARE...
A fake site with no customer service.
If you buy something the chances are you will not get it.
If you sell, you will not get your money.
And there is no customer service.
Stay away at all cost!

I purchased ser a pair of Earno hearing aids for $850 and two weeks after receiving them one failed. After a few weeks of meaningless back and forth with Mercari I gave up waiting my time. This with Merciari then took me past the time I could leave a comment for the seller. So, the end is the seller got my $850 and I have nothing.

Mercari has told many sellers that they're in violation on terms of service when the seller has done nothing wrong. It would be a good item for Mercari to revisit their IT department and how they track these violations as they have FALSEY accused many Mercari sellers of things they have not done. I'm so disgusted with this platform!

They have the worst customer service. They will not do anything to help! Please be aware if you decide to sell on Mercari. Honestly, you will regret it. Customer service is HORRIBLE!

Nicole I guess is the go to person and or spokesperson for Mercari and she definitely needs to go and not to another job but back to school, her education had to have been an "F" in all that she does.

My bank denied my credit card because it does not consider Mercari to be a trusted vendor. In addition, the total charge for that order, including shipping, turned out to be almost double that of the list price. Perhaps MERCARI though I might not notice? Bottom line: If Suntrust thinks the site is unsafe, I think the site is unsafe.

Seller dawndollie is a dishonest seller she sent me a broken atomizer spray for $28 and she claimed that it is in perfect working condition. Mercari does not even allow me to give her any feedback. She continues to sell broken items on her listings in Mercari claiming that the items are good, but will send buyers broken items.

Shipped out my item to the seller. It broke while in transit. The customer requested a refund and mercari asked if i wanted the item back or to let the customer keep the item.
Customer kept her refund and money was deducted from my account.
My post was removed from my own account so i could not even see it has ever been listed or sold.
Clearly this was an issue during transit and mercari decided to keep my money.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.
Their ratings are horrible and an issue. I send all of my items overnight, still get low ratings for dumb things that i am happy to resolve between the buyer, but of course they don't reach out. UNFAIR RATINGS ARE A THING.

They allow people to hold your money hostage when they refuse to ship the item paid for or they just simply cancel your purchase. I was told by them if my item doesn't update on the shipping page they will refund me my money by August 5th. Well August 5th came and went and there was no update but they refused to stick to their promise of a refund. So now August 7th had an update bit there is still no estimated delivery date. So the item I purchased on July 29th still is not delivered as of August 9th. Its still sitting in the original city and state of the seller.
Mercari are money hunger scumbags. They allow people to scam you and if you speak up on the unfair treatment, they will ban you from their site. I hope they get shut down.

I bought an Omega Swatch to the Moon from their website adn when i finally got it. It was a fake. The box was different the watch color was different,labels on the box were mispeled. DO NOT USE THIS on the WEBSITE. They sell fake stuff. I have tried to return a fake watch sold through their platform, but they want me to spend more money proving the item is fake. I send them pictures for a watch that is reall vs. the fake one i got from them...proving that the watch is fake. Yet they want me to spend more money on proving it s fake. The box on watch has mispelling...are you serious guys. Swatch does not have mispelling on their label. This is ridiculous. This website is ridiculous and a scam. Save your money they dont authenticate their items like other platforms. DO NOT USE MERCARI...It s a Scam and their customer service is terrible...i am will never buy from this website and you should not either...STAY AWAY...

My experience as a Seller.
Sent a Starbucks Collection cup. Buyer claim insufficiency packing, means is broken and they cannot send you evidence of the broken piece?
This website is a SCAM! If a lawyer want to take this case, Im willing to stand up for it.
Where is their shipping or return policy said Sellers will not receive evidence from the buyers or from Mercari? That is a good way to make money! I have been robbed!

I Sold an item on Mercari and used the shipping label provided by them as they suggested for my so called protection. They then claimed the item wasn't scanned into the system, that was a lie I have proof. They then rerouted my item to where I don't know then refused to assist me in tracking the item. UPS will not allow me to file a claim because I am not on the shipping labels account. They also refused to uphold their Insurance policy. Yes they scammed me don't trust Mercari with valuable stuff.

Don't use this site! Item I purchased was broken. Company refused to help resolve the problem with the seller! The seller and I struck a deal to refund a portion of the sales price to have the item repaired. Mercari stepped in and prevented the deal that the seller and I mutually agreed to. Customer service did nothing but give me the runaround and repeatedly quote their return policy. NEVER USE THIS SERVICE!

Don't bother using it!

I opened an account and found a few things i liked and purchased them. Couple hours afterwards i get multiple messages all at once... mercari canceled my pruchases and closed my account? For what? I have tried sending emails, called, and no success. NO REASONING..

First let me say that to get a hold of customer service is close to almost impossible! It's all FAQs that give you the run around. Best way is to go under "issues with buying something", then at that point, one can write to customer service under a headline that has nothing to do with your problem. But once they respond, it's like they are not even human. Repetitive responses and then they close the communication. You cant clarify any confusion and you are left with "WTF?" feeling. Its better to go through FB but even through there, I feel as if I am dealing with the dumbest customer service reps ever! Hey Mercari, save everyone precious time by at least not deleting certain transactions from our history. Just add "TRANSACTION CANCELLED". I need to know how much I am being refunded on an order that was damaged. No info on this transaction anymore and still no refund!

This is the world of evil weasels! Scams and scamps. App is hard to use, can't really use desktop computer at all. Must Download app. Buyers are shady people, they'll purchase without reading description then yell at you for thier own problems of not reading and return stuff. Mine was returned in an empty box like my mizuno new running shoes. Buyer blocked me so I couldn't respond to her email. Some Sellers seem scammy also I got a shirt wrapped in a ziplock bag with a mailing label slapped on it, oh joy! Many kids under 16 selling here. Not a site for grown ups. I'll go back to ebay despite thier problems

I was selling on mercari and they revoked my privlages for multiple accounts i didnt know i had another account but it was from years back they wiped out my items the customers got to keep their items i had already sent and as for my $135 that was owed to me they kept it they dont respond ti any of my messages i was a 5 star seller if wanted to revoke my account ok thats fine but ripping me off for my money is just rediculous

Wrong item received from seller Lindsay Patten, Santa Cruz. Impossible to return or contact company. I've tried every possible way but always go in circles. This company must be a SCAM!

Product was obviously damaged when sent to me. Open your box right away as customer service is limited and does not protect the consumer. Does this look like something that's worth $42.00? Beware

There are some genuine things I like about this app but it uses a terrible bait and switch method of offering coupons to get you to buy. "Have a friend create an account, get $__"
Nope. Never received the promised coupon. "Here's $_____ off your next purchase". Nope, not in my account. I contacted customer service and their response was that "the coupon expired", even though it was offered the second I completed my purchase. Another time I had an issue with a seller mislabeling the size and brand of an item I purchased and their customer service was again horrible. The app claims to protect or reimburse buyers but they refused to give me a refund, only credits. If Poshmark's shipping fee wasn't so outrageous, I'd never use this app again. Poshmark, Amazon, and Ebay all do such a better job of taking care of their customers.

I just had a buyer send back a pair of Rayban sunglasses(that were new) that were worn, and broken. 6 days after she receive delivery... they basically said "sorry about your luck"

I purchased a LV Sarah wallet damier azur. It was so beautiful in the in the pictures. When I received it, I had a frown instead of a smile. It was dingy and dull. It looked hideous. So I asked for a refund because of that. They denied my refund request and told me the purse was fine. The purse may be fine for you to wear but it isn't to me. So, I'm out of a few hundred dollars and stuck with this piece of crap. Never again! I'll never buy from them again. Beware of purchasing from them. These doctored up photos will have you fooled and there is nothing you can do about it! I uploaded a picture, I was only able to load 1. This is the purse (taken with the flash on) and it still looks nothing as bright as the picture the seller took.
