Initially customer service gave me some trouble due to mistaken identity, however the (frustrating) problem was resolved. I must say that I enjoy the simplicity of Mercari. It is a more streamlined method of buying and selling than Ebay.
This web site is terrible. They have pictures of the item but sends you something totally different. For example. The bags are clearly vintage but you receive a brand new fake bag plastic bag. They have so many sellers websites doing this. They are are usually shipping out of Chino, California. You order one thing and receive another. They don't refund money instead they credit.
Does anyone have a contact number for Mercari. I sold 2 items worth over $1000 and they suspended me and won't release my funds

I ordered a pair of UGGS from the Mercari site from a company called PinkyNation.
I have 8 other pairs of UGGS - all of which are a size 6. Therefore I ordrered a size 6. When they arrived they were way too small. I contacted Mercari regarding a return and I was told they would not approve a return based on size and to contact the seller. If they approved the return, Mercari would process the return. The Mercari site is so difficult to navigate, it makes it almost impossible to find contact information. I had to email Merari 4 times asking for a link to the seller.
I then contacted the seller PinkyNation who promises 110% satisfaction and they sternly refused to accept the return stating it was not their fault the UGGS didn't fit. This was after me telling them twice that I owned 8 other pairs clearly marked size 6.
DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. BOTH MERCARI AND THE SELLER PINKY NATION are unethical selling platforms. The worst customer service I have every experienced!

I have been using this app to sell designer items for several years. At first, I had good experiences with buyers. Now, I just experienced a young buyer who did not report any issues with Mercari, but made false accusations on a review, which a seller is unable to do anything about. Mercari's support team will not do anything without the buyer's approval so basically a seller is not protected. I would NEVER sell high-end items on this platform because a buyer can scam you and Mercari has NO policy and/or process in place to protect the seller. Lots of fake items being sold on the site so make sure you know how to tell if an item is authentic or not.
I would recommend selling high-end items on a site that has quality control in place to verify scammers and fake products like 'LOLLIPUFF' which is one of the perfect platforms that verifies the authenticity of each high-end item prior to it being listed on the site. My biggest thing is making sure that any online marketplace has a process in place that protects both buyer and seller, which Mercari DOES NOT. So BE CAREFUL if you decide to use this platform. There are lots of marketplaces so do the research and make sure if you're a seller that you protect yourself from scammers. I would recommend 'POSHMARK' over this platform. Mercari definitely needs a better business plan in place and make the necessary revisions to their current business model.

Mercari recently came out with a cooldown methed to prevent sellers from over posting there items, so this method would create the listing and take it but will not show it or allow a buyer to find it. The system does not give you a notification or a gauge to prepare for it. I currently have a great rating with well over 2000 excellent marks and now this new rule entirely derailed my sales. The customer support is non existent as their is no direct number or email to them. The only way to contact them is to create a post on their Facebook or twitter page only when it's in a comment on a new promotion they are trying to push. So they will respond to that simply to save face but trying to get a hold of them via the app is impossible. Since then I have moved on with other platforms like:
Bonanza, posh, depop and created my own site via Shopify to create my own brand.
It's sad because it was going good until they made changes in hopes to enhance the buyers experiance but it totally back fired. Now the only sellers being shown are accounts with no prior sales or stats. Also most sellers shown are fake accounts selling used jordans and fake iPhones with no feedback, they need to invest in true customer support and get rid of the non sense cooldown method. Without good sellers you donot have a good business.

MERCARI AND ALL ITS CUSTOMER SERVICE CAN KISS MY A$$. MY ACCOUNT WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION, 15 positive reviews and no negative or neutrals. Made a transfer to my bank account, next thing you know my bank is telling me my account has been hacked, and next fcking thing you know, I go to Mercari and Im banned from there?! Obviously one of their low end a$$ bithc $#*! a$$ piece of shi* tried to hack my account and fcked up so he had to just cancel my account.

I just found out that the lv bumbag i bought from mercari misc_closet were not authentic back on 8/30, i would even know it wasnt authentic until 2 days ago when someone search out to me
Saying her mom bought the same bag and found out that was not authentic either. I got it authenticated from proauthenticators saying its not authentic, meanwhile its listed on mercari as verified authentic, thats the only reason i bought it, until someone reach out to me saying i have to get authenticate again. I dispute with Paypal and message Mercari about it, reaches out to the seller but then blocked me after i told her its not authentic. I paid $1642 on the fake lv bumbag, and today this seller just sold another fake bag on mercari of course marked verified authentic. Waiting for mercari to get back to me, mean time i have to wait from paypal 90days. This is ridiculous, we need to stop this account misc_closet before she victimized more people for selling her counterfeit lv items. I bet there were others she scammed already.
