I would give it 5 stars, but they added seller fees on top of paying taxes. A $9 item would earn you $3. Seems so unfair. But other than that, my items sell fast and I have made quite a bit selling on here.
This web site is terrible. They have pictures of the item but sends you something totally different. For example. The bags are clearly vintage but you receive a brand new fake bag plastic bag. They have so many sellers websites doing this. They are are usually shipping out of Chino, California. You order one thing and receive another. They don't refund money instead they credit.
I was looking for metallic eyeshadow from watching a pin and was trying to find a brand. Lo and behold I see the same eyeshadow I got from Amazon that is $9 on that site and this site charges double the amount. From experience this eyeshadow is called FANTASY and has lots of colors. It is great colors but they fade easily and it's WORTH $9, not $18. When I see this trickery it let's me know what your site is all about...$$$$$$$$

I had good experience with Mercari to buy an authentic high end perfumes ( Parfums de Marly, Initio) for the fraction of the price, I knew how to authenticate and always requested additional pictures to avoid fakes. Unfortunately, along with honest sellers there are a lot of scammers on mercari.The guy, who got extremely low score on ebay by selling fakes, now pushes all Parfums de Marly, Tom Ford and Chanel perfumes on Mercari. This company does not do anything about it and let poor buyers to be ripped off.

Firstly, they almost always side with the buyer. Secondly, they say there's 3 days to ship then you can cancel. I waited 5 days and request a cancelation about 6 times. They refused. Ordered on the 15th and she just shipped on the 22nd. I will be filing a dispute with my credit card company and doing return to sender. Their business practice is disgusting.
Interestingly, each of the 3 replies regarding, Starlink Ethernet Adapter ID m*******101, were identical as if there was only a peripheral reading of my response. This issue is not only a problem I now have but in so many ways one that the seller had, that of reselling an item that could not be tested until it was in the final installation. The seller appears to be a very honorable merchant but could not have known that this item was faulty in the first place. Also very unlikely to be put into service within your parameter of "3 days" after purchase to receive a refund for a product that is not wanted, or worse faulty. I may well post your reply with my comments on my Facebook page as well as the ratings of our business.

More times times than not I've had to have my money refunded or transaction canceled due to the seller (usually worth a good rating) never had responded or never shipped the item I had attempted to purchase. Mercari doesn't seem to do anything about sellers waisting peoples time. Some of the purchases I had made were as described but some were in lesser condition than described and depicted in pics provided. It's basically a crapshoot when it comes to making purchases on this site.
Tip for consumers:
Holding sellers responsible by freezing accounts or removing profiles when they don't respond or do not ship items with the time allowed with out any corrispondance with the buyer.

I have ordered a couple products from Mercari. It takes a while for things to arrive, but I expect that from a service where I am buying from other people because it takes time to ship things and shipping can be unpredictable. The real issue was when the last thing I bought--the game I purchased arrived and the seller had filled a package with microfilms (of all things) instead. I reported the scam to Mercari, and they basically sent an email a full week later saying that I did not tell them in time, so they are doing nothing about it. They offered a "special courtesy coupon for 10% off $20", but I would really rather just get my money back and have them shut down the seller, obviously (especially because my purchase itself was under $20 dollars). So be careful if you use Mercari and check your package immediately after getting it. Also, do not buy anything from the seller who scammed me, LANDCO/williamjakefendley.
Seller is backed by Mercari for selling a corroded bracelet and made in CHINA where seller states CHINA is real. If not made in CHINA it is fake. No where in descriptions seller noted bracelet has corrosion and made in CHINA. We all know CHINA made products have been known to be fake and counterfeits. Currently other platforms such as Amazon and EBay are cracking down on such fake and counterfeit items. This particular item, sellers pictures and descriptions was backed by Mercari. Sellers pictures angled differently to avoid corroded area as well as where the product was made from is blurred. Pictures and descriptions of sellers who deceive with pictures and descriptions are more believing than actual pictures and descriptions taken by buyer with the result of my return being denied.

I purchased a hat from this site... but when the hat arrived it was a child's hat... Seller said it was a mens hat... I could hardly even get it on... I immediately contacted them and explained the problem... I wanted to return the hat and be reimbursed but... They denied my claim... They said the seller did nothing wrong but he clearly said "men's hat". Worst customer service... I couldn't believe their reasoning... So, I canceled my account with Mercari... I do not want to do business with a company that clearly doesn't care about their customers... This was not a complicated situation to understand, but they made the wrong choice...
I can understand if I make a mistake, but after a week of not telling me, it seems to me you were just to lazy to figure out the problem and just suspended me cause you could. I can't buy, sell, comment or like ANYTHING! Fix this!
The worst website to sell. They would deny your returns right away. What i purchase smell so bad, they ask for pictures like they can smell it in the pictures. Deny return. Would not recommend this website. Costumer service sucks
This is a horrible company. I sold two items and its impossible to get my money because they pretend they are not getting my emails. They send out so much spam. I sell items and cannot access the point to printshipping, i never get the emails, funny i always get their spam. They have not responded to my 42 emails
I bought a ceramic goblet but when received it was broken. I let them know about it and i had sent pics of item. When sent they ask for more pics of item and pics of wrapping and then they were going to investigate whos foult it was the item broke. I buy from different sites and i have never receive an answer like that. They either replace it or give you your money back i dont care whos foult it was no body charges for a broken item

I thought I was purchasing a "buttery leather" authentic Burberry handbag with care booklet and dust bag. I checked the pics and the bag looked authentic. The bag arrived and yes it was soft and looked exactly as the pics. So I rated the seller. As I'm watching tv and putting my things in my new bag I notice there was a backside to the tag label which showed the bag is PVC, plastic. So I'm a little upset because this bag is suppose to be leather. The backside of the label says trim is leather. Come to find out the care booklet isn't even for this bag. So I tell the seller she had misrepresented the bag, and I was getting it authenticated. Well the bag is a counterfeit. So I let Mercari know about their seller and I want my $ back. They tell me too bad so sad. Good thing I purchased using PayPal, I have initiated a chargeback. Go ahead Mercari, close my account! You've lost my business.
Nick is the name of the person that was no help threw the help service. No customer service what so ever. I tried to get threw someone else to help me but there is NO ONE! What a joke. I was sold trash and Mr. NICK told me because of their return policy he could not issue the person that sold me trash to refund me even when i said i would send the product back. I asked if the policy has changed because i had a previously had a similar issue and was able to return my item and get a refund no problem. Nope not this time. Nick told me i can resell the item and try to get my money back haha so in other words resell the trash and screw someone else out of their money. WOW! Great company this is. Unbelievable. Beware that if u have a issue on this site u will have no customer service and will be screwed out of ur money and there is absolutely nothing u can do
I've NEVER been able to cancel a transaction unless I called, which this time, I was told by a rep not to even bother because their wait times were so long. Look at your facebook page, It's riddled with the same problems.

I've had a few positive transactions, and some not so great. This last one has me not wanting to use the site anymore. The seller still hasn't shipped my item after a week and a half. I've been trying to cancel, but there's no way unless the seller does it, and there's no response. I've tried messaging Mercari, but I keep getting an error. I went on their facebook page, and it's been too long there as well. Not to mention their site is pretty annoying to search once you are in someone's store. There are no filters.

Sale fees are So high the products sold and purchased are priced 3xs what they would be on any other Sales Platform. It is impossible to make any real money on this site. They count your product return as income made What a joke.
Attempting to contact buyer/seller messages are immediately deleted. Attempting to contact Mercari is IMPOSSIBLE Hmmmm...

This site does NOTHING to protect sellers from scammers! I was doing great on here until this week when I got hit by a scammer. Person purchased an item from after haggling on pricing and when it arrives, claims I sent an oily dishrag of a top when in fact I sent the purchased item of a dress and had video taped the item, the packaging and the mailing. The buyer opened a claim immediately and Mercari approved it within 3 minutes of her opening the claim and WOULD NOT even allow me to respond - nothing. They could care less. Well, I am pulling over 100+ items I sell from this site and going elsewhere. They will loose also as I was a top rated Seller on here. Maybe one day they will get a clue and realize why so many Sellers are jumping ship. Tootles.

I purchased an item and the seller shipped right away, however it was not my order. The labels got mixed up and I got someone else's order. Seller was apologetic and I initiated a return per her request. She assured me she had my product and would send it as soon as I shipped the wrong product back. She never sent me a return label. I had to work through Mercari customer service be cause the seller blocked me! What the heck? I have no way way of rating her now because once a return is received the deal is done. I guess she did it so I couldn't rate her poorly, which I never would have done if she would have just sent me my item. Now I want to rate her and can't.
I ordered a Nespresso espresso maker. It looked in a good condition on Mercari website's picture. However when i i got it.
1. it was poorly unprofessional packaged.
2. it was dirty with coffee grinds and coffee stain all over the place. I cleaned and cleaned.
3. the milk frothier cleaning light is on every time I used the machine after extensively cleaning and descaling. It light up no matter what. Such defect was not mentioned on it's website.
4. Meicari has near zero customer services. Eventaully they emailed me back after 24 hrs. Then I was told all sale is final after 72 hrs of delivery. No return period! Really? I don't expect everyone is like amazon but 72 hrs I barely had time to clean it and sent emails. I wasted $300 on this machine.
5. lesson to learn, Please do not order anything from Mercari!

I purchased a bottle of Nerium Moisturizer from a seller named Mary. It was supposed to be new and unopened. When I received it, it was open and product expired. Mercari denied my refund. What the hell? 1. The seller knows how to get through new system- by saying the product was new and opened. Then played stupid saying it wasn't open when shipped. 2. Mercari backed her up not me. Scammers I say. Unfortunately, Mary has ruined it for the honest sellers.
Ordered something, seller never made contact and didn't respond to my message. Here are the problems with Mercari: 1. At that point I only had the option for them to contact the seller and get back to me. I couldn't just cancel, even though by then it was late and I didn't trust that seller anymore. 2. They canceled it, but then there was no option to review the seller, so my irresponsible seller gets to keep his 5-star rating. In other words, the very worst sellers get a pass. 3. There is NO WAY TO CONTACT MERCARI! Every single contact link on their site led back to the virtual help FAQs. That's ridiculous. And for that reason alone, I will never order from them again.
Where do I start. Out of three purchases. I have bought I have reicived on in tact the other broken and the other hasn't shown up it's been three weeks. This site is out of a horror film. I have had no response on the unshipped item. The broken item visually states an electronic error and was photographed together with the return request, and what do they do? Ask me for more photos of a non working electronic item. Come on... how are you to provide more photos of a non functioning heater than the stated error that means there is an electrical failure. On top of that the seller had already acknowledged and verbally accepted the return request! Mercari is a joke and is misleading in their procedures. I am taking a look at this and digging in to how many others they have ripped of as a company please share if Mercari has mislead or has denied a rightful claim just to keep the profits.

I was a first time user of Mercari, and because of the nightmare that followed with Customer Service, it will be my last time. I am use to Ebay and Marketplace, which work WITH the customer. Mercari didn't seem to even want to understand where I was coming from, kept sending "generic" emails, and in the end honored the dishonest seller even with my proof. So totally frustrating!
I was selling on the platform for 3 years. Recently I reactivated my account, the process is a pain... It took them 2 weeks to help out. I posted a Chanel Necklace, I got an email stating someone reported it as fake. I have been selling luxury item on the platform, never had this happened. Moreover it is a 100% real item. I emailed customer service, they said intellectual l team will reach out to me. No one did and it has been a month. I emailed them again, no responds. This platform is ridiculous- if you took someone advice that the item is not real, at least provide reason. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY ONLY BIAS BUYER.
