I tried to purchase Maclaren Twin stroller on Mercari from user "wally27". I negotiated the price and the seller confirmed the purchase. The seller shipped my order but canceled it within one day because "barcode does not scan". The seller also blocked my account so I cannot buy or message him. But the stroller was still available for purchase. So I used my husband account to try to buy it, this time for full price. The seller canceled the second order within few minutes and blocked my other account too. I am already talking to Mercari to cancel the "wally27" account and any other accounts associated with this person*home address.

We apologize for this experience and can imagine your frustration - as every item on the app should be on-hand and available at the time a listing is created. Because Mercari is unable to guarantee a seller will ship a purchased item, we allow them to cancel transactions if they have troubles sending it off (so buyers can be reimbursed as quickly as possible). Sometimes this also means that sellers aren't completely honest in their reasons, but we do watch and penalize accounts should they have a large number of unwarranted cancellations. Last night I purchased a Jurassic World Irritator. I paid way too much for it but was thrilled that my grandson would have it in time for his birthday. I paid immediately through paypal. This morning upon checking my email I realized that the seller canceled my order. When I asked why it was canceled the response was, " I have never purchased anything through MERCARI before so, of course, my order was canceled." Seriously? My money is not as good as those that have shopped on MERCARI before. That kind of thinking from MERCARI sellers guarantees that they won't be able to build their business. I checked the seller's sales, albiet after my sale was cancelled, and discovered he/she frequently cancels orders. That pretty much guarantees there will never be new customers. Not a smart business practice. I know I won't be shopping there again.

Purchased 2 speakers that were grossly mis-advertised. Seller even admitted it. I asked for a return label and never received. When I reached back out to Mercari for the label they said it was too late---- I only had 3 days to return. WHAT A SCAM MERCARI is. STAY AWAY FROM MERCARI!

I purchased 2 items from 1 seller. I only received 1 of the items i purchased. The seller said they sent the other item separately. I never received the other item even after numerous emails from the seller with empty promises. Never received a refund or my other item. This particular seller changed their store name after they stole my money. Stay away from blurtee/Onestopshop on mercari. Con artists.

Purchased a Samsung s22 ultra $600. Item is in pending status with FedEx since August 28tg phone was purchased on the 26th of August. I've been back and forth with Mercari stating that far past the date of delivery and I received a message that I can request a cancellation on Sept 2nd. Made the request and I hat a message to rate buyer so they can get paid. The item is still in pending status FedEx website and I have not received the cellphone that I paid $600 for. Mercari is procrastinating going against their own policy and will not refund my account. This is a horrible situation and this Seller has 0 sales/ buys. No ratings. Look like someone inside Mercari support team is doing the scamming?

I've been unsatisfied with several items on Mercari been trying to work it out with the sellers and partial refunds so I had to return anything and their website shut you down and doesn't allow you to continue or do any returns this website as one of the worst and I'm losing money on it not doing it for a long buyers beware and I see I'm forced to give them one star which I don't wish I could give them any

Call the US government branch overseeing online websites for fraud and file an online complaint to get them banned.

Doesn't do good business allows sellers to cancel orders and repost for higher prices I accepted an offer from the seller and two days later the order was canceled and updated at higher price mercari doesn't care I was on phone for over an hour I got no answer other than my money would be refunded in 5-7days it's sad that a company allows its customers to be treated like this

I had two situations. A customer sent me a broken imac Mercari did not want to refund me! Recently I accidentally ordered something from mercari using PayPal and I have yet to revive my refund. It was been over 10 days! Now I'm stuck have to pay after pay every two weeks because they wouldn't
Refund me. Money went in the trash! I would NOT RECOMMEND MERCARI!

Only picked one star because I had to, Mercari is LESS THAN ZERO. I sold one time on Mercari: they refused over & over & over & over again to pay me what I was owed- ended up being charged for shipping when I'd very clearly indicated it was all buyer's responsibility. I really liked buyer. Completely disgusted, beyond appalled at this company 's lies & misrepresenting

Will never order from this place again nothing when right you couldn't even make your seller respond or nothing then I complained. And you couldn't even find my order so I sent you the information and your company still did nothing but say you reminded the seller its time to send it out then your company said i can cancel my order but to do so I need to download your website I wasn't able to get your website so I wasn't able to cancel my order at this time. I had to go threw PayPal just to get what was mine back your company literally sucks and the seller isn't helping you look any better

On 3 separate occasions I stupidly bought from here and all 3times got ripped off! Then you go through a bunch of stuff to get denied a refund! The seller admitted that he sent it to the wrong address and I never got a refund! BUYER BEWARE STAY AWAY! It's a rip off app! You will get ROBBED!

This company assists ppl with selling their goods. It's no pick up, ship only. As you're dealing with individuals there can always be varying degrees of satisfaction but I've made at least 40 to 50 purchases and only had an issue with 1 seller selling my items that I won to another buyer and 1 seller angry with me as I left her a somewhat negative review(that was warranted, it was fair and true and she didn't like it). Sellers can either offer you free shipping or add the price onto your purchase price. You can make offers on their listed prices, it's up to them whether they accept or not, or give you a counter offer. I've gotten some AMAZING deals on things. Usually the items are in very good condition and a lot of times, new. Most sellers I've dealt with have been great! Of course you get a bad apple every now and then but that is with any situation where you deal with people. I really love this site and highly recommend it. I've never sold anything yet, only been a buyer. However I've dealt with repeat sellers so they must like it too!
