The rep who sold me the Surface lied to me and the company refuses to honor the $100 post-sale credit they promised. Even though it was written and saved in the chat log. Two follow-up chat conversations and a very long phone call to sales support and each time was told "we can't do anything, but we've put a note in for the chat rep and they will contact you tomorrow to fix this". All BS. No one ever follows up. Asking for a manager gets you hung up on. Which means another 30 minutes on hold or waiting for a chat rep to respond. I will never buy another Microsoft device again.
I normally don't write reviews, however I want people to know what happened to me, and avoid the same thing happening to them. I ordered online from The Microsoft Store and I returned an item on 7/23/20. They received the return in their warehouse on 7/29/20. The warehouse never communicated with anyone that they had received it. I was originally told to expect a refund in 7-14 business days from the day it was shipped back. I contacted them on 8/6/20 to inquire about my refund. (14 days) I was on hold for 33 minutes only to be told that they had to do an investigation of the warehouse to see why they were not informed of the receipt of my return. They explained that I would have to wait another 3-5 days for them to process the refund following the investigation. I again waited and called them back on 8/13/20 (7 days) and was on hold another 23 mins, and when I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was put on hold for an additional 18 minutes. Again, I was told the same story about the investigation into the warehouse. I asked why I had to wait so long since they had proof that the item was returned, and the issue was clearly between them and the warehouse. I was told the investigation would be expedited and to expect a refund in 3-5 days. Well, today marks 1 month that I've been waiting, and when I called again this morning, they told me the same thing! This is completely unacceptable. Customers should NOT have to wait to be refunded this long, ESPECIALLY since they admit they received the return! They are so quick to take your payment but do everything in their power to delay a refund. Not good business standards and absolutely HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT ORDER FROM MICROSOFT STORE!
