Mint Mobile offers the services I need, at an awesome price. I've dealt with their customer service, requiring help getting Mint Mobile started. They were very patient and I have not had any issues since changing from V****** about a year ago.
They pass on fees that you cannot easily find in your account to you because they need to comply with federal law. That is part of your business model! As a new customer I paid 3.3% over my $180 plan. But now that I'm in, it's 12% over the $180 with a "recovery fee" that is $18.15! Ridiculous
Went to Mint Mobile web site and it said there was great service. Ordered trial sim only to find 0 coverage in my area!
I had ATT for 20 years, I was paying approximately $200 each month. I recently retired and wanted to look at all my expenses and cut back where possible. I don't use much data, maybe 2 G per month. I use WI-FI at home and 5G when out and about. I live in Maui Hawaii, I switched 3 months ago to Mint Mobil, my wife and I both were a little nervous about switching but thought we had noting to lose by giving it a try.
We had a few bumps getting through the initial process switching our numbers and initial setup, ATT had issues releasing our numbers, to my SURPRISE the MINT Mobil customer service was very efficient, they asked for some info and called ATT directly for us. A few days later everything was up and running perfectly. I,m in my 60's and have never been so excited and happy, I paid $15 per month per phone, I've NEVER had a problem with my service!
So to recap I'm now spending $30 per month for 2 phones, I'm saving $170 per month on my cell service, I'm going to sign up for 12 months for $360 (2 lines) and SAVING $2,140 per year. And we experience better service in remote areas than we did with ATT!
I don't usually write reviews but I've NEVER been so happy with anything in my life!
If I'm being 100% honest my only issue with MINT is that sometimes I have a hard time understanding some of the customer service employees who have a thick accent
But saving over $2,000 a year I'm OK with it.
BEST DECISION i've EVER MADE!
Mint mobile sucks, don't even bother. Paid money no internet no calls and their customer service is a joke.

Mintmobile "customer service" is just a front desk that is texting "tickets" to other departments that do the job. The result is that everything gets messed up and Mintmobile is losing money because they don't want to pay for an actual customer service that does the job while you are talking to them. I got a new plan but selected the wrong eSIM (or their site glitched). I asked them to send me a free physical SIM, they told me I had to pay for it when it would have been free with the order. As a result I requested a refund of the whole order. Later, because I stupidly had ported my number to Mintmobile already, I decided to not refund the order and told the "customer service" to cancel the order refund, which they confirmed. Then I proceeded to order a physical SIM card so I can use my phone number with Mintmobile. A few days later, I get an email that my order refund was sent - the same refund that I canceled through the fake customer service. Then I call them to tell them to cancel shipping of the SIM card since obviously I don't need it. The "customer service" "canceled the order of the SIM card". The next day I get an email that the SIM card has shipped. It turns out that the "customer service" had just texted a "ticket" to another department, who hadn't read it yet and the SIM card shipped. This disconnect between the texting front desk masquerading as "customer service" and the real customer service that does the job on the accounts is the source of all problems at Mintmobile.

I signed up for 3 months of service intending to use the iPhone that I already had. When I tried to activate it I found out it was locked to ATT. I made many calls to ATT, Mint and the company I bought the phone from. I had purchased the refurbished phone outright, so I thought there would be no problem but unfortunately there was and I could not get it unlocked. Eventually I purchased another phone and activated it on Mint (this was no quick and easy process either and it took many phone calls to Mint to get my number moved from ATT and then to get it to work). Every time I called I had to explain everything all over again and most times I was told to repeat the steps that the last tech asked me to try. But the thing that really galls me is that I had the service for 2 months and never used it because I had no phone that would work and when I asked for some credit because I paid for more than 2 months that I didn't use they said they had no ability to do that, I asked to speak to someone in billing and was given the answer that it wouldn't matter if I talked to billing, that they couldn't do anything. Asked to speak to a manager, was told the same thing, pretty much refused to transfer me to anyone else that could help me. I got the impression that there really isn't a management structure at all and the techs operate on their own little islands and have no authority to do anything useful for a dissatisfied customer.

Review of MintMobile:
I recently had a very disappointing experience with Mint Mobile, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts to warn others about their customer service. Initially, I was on the $15/month plan, which I found to be quite reasonable and suitable for my needs.
However, my dissatisfaction began when they unexpectedly renewed my plan for three months at an exorbitant cost of $82.40 – a staggering 83% increase from my original plan. Naturally, I was not pleased with this sudden and significant price hike, so I decided to contact their customer service for clarification.
To my dismay, the representatives assured me that I was entitled to a full refund and that my service would be disconnected starting the following day. Relying on their promise, I decided to port my number to another provider, specifically AT&T, in order to avoid further complications.
I took the customer service representatives at their word, believing that I would receive my refund and be free from their service. However, to my disbelief, when I called Mint Mobile a few days later to inquire about my refund status, they denied any such agreement and claim.
As a result, I found myself in a distressing situation where I had already paid for almost six months of service with Mint Mobile, despite my service being ported to AT&T for less than two weeks.
This experience has left me utterly disappointed and frustrated with Mint Mobile's customer service. Their failure to honor their promises and the subsequent denial of any agreement has been nothing short of a letdown.
Therefore, I strongly advise others to approach Mint Mobile's customer service with caution and skepticism. I cannot, in good faith, recommend their services to anyone, as my own experience has been marred by their untrustworthiness and lack of integrity.
In conclusion, please be wary of Mint Mobile's customer service and think twice before committing to their plans. There are plenty of other reputable service providers out there that offer better customer care and honest practices.
These people owed a refund for over a month and still haven't provided it, and after it was approved.
Mint mooble was good but now it is #1 the LTE was not even decent enough! And for a couple weeks now I haven't been able to receive SMS text Messages I want a Refund!
4 DAYS NO PHONE SERVICE AND ALL THE REPS SAY IS... YOU NEED TO WAIT UNTIL MY TEAM GETS BACK TO ME... WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW... I GOTTA FIND A NEW COMPANY NOW.
I HAVE NO WORKING PHONE
Is not that cheap to have 0 customer service, is horrible the waiting for next agent is Eternal! And nothing gets resolved
Worse experience with a company in my entire life.
I ordered and paid for a brand new iPhone 12 ($730) and SIM card deal. Buy 3 months/get 3 months free! This was ordered online on Dec. 21,2021 and paid next day delivery. So I could get it before Christmas, for my son.
I never got it! They never reshipped the missing or lost or stolen package. Tried to get help. Only told that, "They are looking into it!"
It now has been "256 days", countless phone calls and empty promises. This has to be the worse phone service company, bar none! At least for purchasing a cell phone from and/or the shipping company they used. That being FedEx! Most likely, dishonest delivers! May they receive their just judgement sooner than later as well!
Yes, Mint Mobile has the worse customer service in the world, from my perspective!
Now 17 days ago, one of their agents, after being on the phone with me for a very long time, said. "This is not how we operate?" We usually resend the lost or unrecieved order, right away!
Then he told me, it was all taken care of now! Here is your new re-shipment ticket number #M-*******... You should receive your phone and promised SIM card deal, in 5-7 business days...
Again, that was 17 days ago, and nothing! Several calls back, and all I get is, we will look into this! Sure! What did I get, again... No help! No explanation! Still no resolution!
Tonight, some customer service agent I talked to, said, "We'll call you right back in 45 min. To an hour, so we can check warehouse shipping dept. to confirm they have an iPhone 12 there to send you and get it out to you." 3 hours later still no call back. Called back 3 times prior, put on hold, cut off. Had to try again, and again... Insanity! Worse experience with any company bar none, they are dragging me through hell. We have 2 other phones, using their phone services, actually for several years! Happy for the most part. But buying a phone from them has been the worse experience in my life. So many times, they said they would call me back. Never once, had they done so.
Tip for consumers:
That phones can be purchased by them through physical brick and mortar stores to bypass mail delivery, where it got stolen by someone most likely in FedEx.

They never sent me the product; "that's the problem." Or if stolen in the process, never got resolution; no replacement or a refund of $700 plus dollar send for product. Basically my money stolen by Mint.
We had the account 12 days, the phone worked for maybe 2 of those days. They randomly shut the account down twice making me call in to try and get it fixed, all while our daughter was away in another city without a way to contact us. The second time we called to figure out what was going on they gave us the complete runaround. Between myself and my husband calling/texting for several hours and being shuffled back and forth we finally landed with a manager (only by demanding it and not letting the agent put us on hold until the manager came on, as THEY WILL LEAVE YOU ON HOLD FOREVER).
The manager finally said that he initiated a full refund and that we would receive an email confirmation within 24-48 hours. Four days later we called back, got the complete runaround AGAIN, and was told that the agent on the line couldn't see any notes or anything that something was initiated.
MINT MOBILE IS CRAP, FULL OF LYING AGENTS WHO JUST WANT TO GET RID OF YOU, AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS.
Save yourself BOATLOADS of stress and hours and hours of your life wasted trying to communicate with them and DO NOT USE THEM.
You can get as much internet as you want, but it's not working. The speed is so slow, that you just can't use it.

I have given up on trying to become a Mint Mobile customer.
In coastal NC, I found that I was unable to send texts to various of my contacts during the first 48 hours of the trial period/SIM card. All of these contacts are fully reachable with my existing Verizon network in the same area.
After aprox 1 ½ hours of calls with Mint support (someone with heavily accented English, demanding to understand... and in a call center that sounded like they must have had a VERY exciting sports game fed into the room - people shouting LOUDLY as we were trying to solve the problem!) I realized that a solution was not forthcoming. They advised me to talk to Apple tech support (who in turn pointed to the Mint service as the likely cause of the issue). So that's a loop. Moving on...
Even with that unresolved, I decided to go ahead with a sign-up for regular service... except that in this task, their operators could not accomplish anything either. We got into some loop of trying to activate a Mint SIM card that was already activated. After another lengthy call, I was advised that another person would be in touch by phone. The last thing they did was to take down leading and trailing digits that identify the card used for payment.
That was earlier this week. Nothing further heard. I have tried calls (their menu system doesn't work as the prompts advise), 3 email addresses that I could find, and their chat window. In written communications, I fed in a detailed report that included problems and history, phone number, IMEI #, phone model and iOS. I can't think of anything else to give them (this information had already been taken down multiple times during prior calls and chats).
After another few days passed, I have deleted the Mint Mobile app. The advertising out there was quirky and catchy to people like me - perpetually feeling that Verizon doesn't like us - only our money. But Verizon's network is reliable. Looks like I am staying with the Big Vz Bully for the foreseeable future. And that's a pity.
Tip for consumers:
Calls seemed to work fine on this network and locality, I give them that.

I should have really done more research on this cell service. If I would have known they use T Mobile as their cell tower carrier, I WOULD HAVE PASSED IN A SECOND. They hook you with cheap prices but at the end of three months, they go up. I really thought dropped calls or no reception was a thing in the past. NOT WITH MINT. I can't use my cell phone in a lot of the stores and hospitals I have been in. Probably because of T Mobile gives the scraps,or tower use to the smaller cell services who use their towers. Ironically, I just noticed T Mobile owns Mint now. I have another month of the pre service I bought with Mint abd once that is up for renewal...GOOD BYE! And no switching over to them isn't as easy as Ryan Reynolds brags about. If you don't understand the CELL JARGON it will be trying to your patience. I guess I'll shop a cell service who uses Verizon for the tower service. And NO...I am not promoting Verizon either. LAst, DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST and don't drink the Koolaid, like I did.
I have purchased two SIM cards, one physical and one sim with a 3 month plan for me and my husband. Unfortunately, due to their employees incompetence, I wasn't able to install the eSim, and after two weeks of no service and talking every day to their employees, I have switched to AT&T and I was assured that the $90 I paid for my eSim will be given to my husband as a credit so we can actually use some service for the money we've prepaid. Three months later, his plan expired and not only we didn't get the credit but they just canceled his service. And now, all of a sudden, they cannot do a refund. I will file a complaint in the small claims court for my inconvenience and the time spent with no service, along with the $90 theft I have been suffered from them. I don't care even if Ryan Reynolds calls me personally to apologize - I WANT MY MONEY BACK! Now, they're suggesting me to read their refund policy, although I was promised over the phone to get a credit for the $90 I've spent, receiving zero service for that.

I wanted to transfer to Mint Mobile, and the marketing made it seem like this would be simple and seamless. I bought a 3 month plan, and when the SIM card came and I tried to activate it on my phone it kept leading me to a blank page. I tried to activate it online and it wasn't working. I then called the customer service line and a representative told me that mint had accidentally given the activation number to someone else and it had already been activated. He kept making it seem like it was my fault somehow. He said it would be fine I didn't have to do anything, but also said I had to wait several days for upper management to figure out how to resolve. I told him I was concerned because my ATT plan was set to expire in 2 days and if it wasn't resolved by then I would have to renew with ATT. He said it would be resolved by then. I asked him to transfer me to a manager for more clarity and he said he would but then hung up on me. Not sure if this was intentional or an accident.
I called back and a new representative who was very nice seemed very confused at how the SIM card was already activated and didn't know what to do. I asked to be transferred to a manager and she said there was no supervisor available. She said she created a ticket for upper management and that they would contact me within 48 hours and guaranteed it would be all fine.
48 hours came and went, and I had to renew my ATT monthly policy.
I contacted Mint via the chat feature this time and the representative looked up my ticket and said he could give me a refund. I never wanted a refund - I wanted service.
I asked if they would be providing a credit or free service for all the inconvenience. At first saying he couldn't do anything, but finally said they could give me $5 after I repurchased.
I asked to be transferred to a manager and the manager said I should just do the refund and repurchase. I asked what happened and why I fell through so many cracks in Mint. I waited on the chat line for 22 minute and he never responded.
I reached out a 4th time and just asked for a refund as at this point I was over it and just wanted out.
Tip for consumers:
do NOT buy their marketing ploys. The transition is not seamless and customer service is not their priority in my experience.

Mint mobile ripping customers are out of their hard earning money not returning refund in service is terrible bad news
I have been with mint mobile for over a year, the last 2 months of my plan I upgraded to the unlimited plan, after that I began to have problems. When I upgraded to the unlimited plan the app showed what hotspot data was used, I asked the Rep before I got off the phone and they said not to worry about it, I said OK. 2 weeks later my hotspot showed I uses 10GB then my phone wouldn't work. I called them and they dis nothing about it, they said I would have to wait until the next month, I told them again I'm not using a hotspot and I've never set it up so that's impossible. I am now on my last month of the 12 month plan I bought and it shows I've used 1GB of hotspot (I have been out of town for the last 10 days and my phone has been off) I called mint mobile 2 more times today and they keep telling me the same thing (they are going to escalate the ticket) but they never do I've called atleast 10 times in 2 months. They never do what they say mint mobile is a rip off and they will steal your data you pay for! Stay away!
Tip for consumers:
Terrible customer service and they will never call you back, they constalnly lie to get you off the phone .

On July 13,2023 I made a phone call to speak with someone live who could sound like they knew and understood that I was making a payments for a specific phone number ( a family member). The online chat was terrible and inefficient. The man I was speaking to who sounded like he was from India seemed like he understood what I was making a payment for. During the phone call he transferred me to their automated system to take a debit card information and the associated phone number was connected with the transaction. The system informed me that the transaction was successful. The deduction was posted on my banking statement some days later but my service was disconnected anyway. I called customer service and spoke to a female who identified herself as Kim, who too sounded like she was from India. I explained that I was calling because despite my payment, I had no service. She began to speculate that maybe I did not complete the payment or that maybe the phone call was disconnected or interrupted when I tried to pay. I explained that I surely knew this was not the case and explained why. She put me on hold a few times and when she returned the last time she explained that she was going to escalate the inquiry tot he administration and that she would return my phone call in twenty minutes and explain to me what she would have found out. She NEVER called me back nor have I recieved anything by email nor any other notifications days later. I filed a complaint with the FCC and FTC and the State of Florida about this matter. Essentially, they took my payment and never gave me my service. I would post my bank statements showing this but how do I prove to a reader that I still don't have service? - Well, don't trust this service provider. This is it for my patronage. BEWARE!

I started using Mint Mobile prepaid service three months ago, because it cost $45 for three months. When it came time to renew it went up $15 to $60 for three months. I called and asked if they had a senior plan and they said yes for $25 per month, but I would have to pay for the whole year. I told them I would go elsewhere. I bought a Boost Mobile starter kit on sale for $6.99. I then called the Boost Mobile customer service no. And their senior plan was $25 per month also, but I only had to pay month to month. I gave them my Mint Mobile account no. And PIN (which I had previously verified with Mint on the phone), in order to port my existing phone number to Boost Mobile. I hung up with Boost Mobile and was told after I installed the SIM card from my kit that it would take 15 minutes to 2-1/2 hours to activate. After 6 hours it still didn't activate. I went to a Boost Mobile agent and told them my story. She looked it up in her computer and it said my Mint Mobile account no. Was inaccurate. She called Mint, handed me the phone and Mint tried numerous times to tempt me to keep my service with them, saying they would match what Boost was offering me. I told them they blew it and that I was switching. She said in order for her to release my account no. She would have to send me a code so I could verify it was me. I told her my phone was not working because it wasn't activated yet. She said I had to give her 10 different phone numbers I had previously used to prove it was me. I told her all I should need to give her was my PIN no. And she refused.
I went home to retrieve the Mint Mobile account no. Which I had in my password program. I wrote it down and went to the Mint Mobile website to double check the number and every piece of information on me was there EXCEPT for the account no! I returned to Boost Mobile and by that time it was too late to port my number (which I've had for years) and I had to get a new number. Do yourself a favor and avoid using Mint Mobile!
