Mint Mobile offers the services I need, at an awesome price. I've dealt with their customer service, requiring help getting Mint Mobile started. They were very patient and I have not had any issues since changing from V****** about a year ago.
They pass on fees that you cannot easily find in your account to you because they need to comply with federal law. That is part of your business model! As a new customer I paid 3.3% over my $180 plan. But now that I'm in, it's 12% over the $180 with a "recovery fee" that is $18.15! Ridiculous
So I was using my own phone, but it would never ring, but message and out call worked. I called
Aftre realizing problem, 6 days. They hang-up (phone) or disconnect (chat). Each time you reconnect you go through same routine, they say someone will call back. Request refund on activation.
Tip for consumers:
Ask about refund on first call.

For starters, we had lousy reception. In fact, most of the time we had no service at all. Then, when we tried transferring back to our previous provider, they required us to give them "5 local numbers that we regularly call." Not sure why this was needed, but we would never share friends' numbers just so that they could call them and say that we referred them to Mint Mobile. That would be absurd. Additionally, the online "Service Agent" that we chatted with had a horrible grasp of the English language. It was so horrendously bad that we could not understand what they were saying. I wouldn't recommend Mint Mobile to my greatest enemy.

I've been trying to get my account number to go away from Mint mobile it's been 3rd day today. I've been contacting them via Chat and customer care number *******392). Almost 4 hours and no response either side. When I choose option to join as a new customer within 10 minutes person name (Jana) came online. As soon as I told that I am looking for the account number, she disappeared and never come back.
I wanted to keep my existing number to port on the other service provider. Life is become "hell" with this Mint customer service...
Almost lost # I had had for 17 years by attempting to switch to them.IMPOSSIBLE Customer Service. Avoid at all costs. It was an absolute nightmare to try to speak to them. I spent about 3-4 hours trying to deal with this and ended up switching back to my previous carrier because this was just so ridiculous.
If it were possible to give negative stars... I WOULD! Do not utilize Mint Mobile as your cellular carrier. My wife was gifted a phone that was not compatible with their service and she really liked the new phone, so I ported her number to a new carrier. When I contacted Mint Mobile in regards to a refund of the two remaining months of Prepaid service, I was told that since I did not cancel within 24hrs there would be no refund. Basically this companies policy is screw you, another person will replace you... criminals hiding behind an LLC. If you are late renewing they would cut you off immediately, cancel service and they are like "Thanks for your hard earned money, now (insert expletive here) off!"

I was getting so many dropped calls on Mint Mobile that I decided to switch to another carrier. I had paid Mint a year in advance and had only used 4 months. No refund. Ok, I said, I'll come back and use up my contract. " Well, first you need to pay another 3 months to get signed up again." Throw good money after bad? In the meantime I get a BS Christmas card from Ryan Reynolds. Phooey. Try living on Social Security, Ryan.
It was very easy to set up on my existing phone. I had an issue in November 2022 with my renewal, but they were able to solve it for me pretty quickly. Since then it's been smooth sailing. It's a great phone plan for a great price.
I switched thinking not only that I would save money but also have comparable services... OMG. NIGHTMARE! They countdown everything. Picking at "minutes " "data" whatever they decide. Damn. You switched your number over, went through the motions... their money puppet. (wtf) 3 month payment plan... All you want is unlimited everything at a good rate and all of a sudden you're going through a tornado of nonsense. STOP while you're ahead. What a freaking nightmare.
I ordered a sim and prepaid for three months, I never received the sim because their warehouse was shortstaffed so never activated their services and now, I have been trying to get a refund for weeks and they continuously make me send emails and talk to different agents saying that they will process the refund, yet never do it. Their customer service is horrible, none of their agents care about helping you and meanwhile, they fund their business using my money when I never even received services. Worst experience of my life with a mobile service provider. If you give them money, you will never see it again. They just invent excuses to never refund you.
Tip for consumers:
Never think that ypu will get a refund from them even if they advertise it

Signed up for $15 month unlimited offer, was told this would continue as long as we renewed for 12 month after initial 3 months, told this at least three time by the rep and it said this on there website "renew for12 months and keep your savingsgoing"...not so, plan goes to $30 per month or more...
Very poor and deceptive bait and switch...
Ryan Reynold...you lied!
After several calls to customer service, several wasted hours with no remedy for my dropped call issues, about 15 of them, I gave up and switched to another provider. I'm out about $150 for 1 week of terrible phone service and the phone which I bought from Mint, which I only used about half of because I got disconnected on several occasions! Find a reputable provider, not Mint!
Tip for consumers:
Worst provider experience ever!

Download speeds of 1.5 mbps. Site said "excellent service" for my zip code. Switched today. Called support and was told there was an outage in Omaha back in July. I asked "Nebraska?!" He said that is what it was showing for my reason for slow service. I LIVE IN GEORGIA! He recommended that I switch back to my old carrier. Total sh*# show. I spent hours transferring mine and my husband's phones over. Wish they allowed for 0 stars.

I'm a new customer and I started today after being with T-Mobile for over 8 years. I had to leave in the end because it was one lie after another and so many promised callbacks that never came.
Apart from a problem activating the SIM card everything else has been very quick and it's been a beautiful transition. Mints customer service has been very helpful.
Tip for consumers:
The only problem I had was the SIM card activation make sure you have a landline or another cell phone next to you to call customer service

Infuriatingly poor experience trying to activate with mint. 4+ hours on the phone over 2 days and several customer service reps trying to transfer my number to mint. Absolute incompetence at every turn. Been on hold for 30+ minutes now just to get the PIN so can get my phone number back. STAY AWAY
Tip for consumers:
Worst experience I've ever had with a cell phone carrier

Mint Mobile is a HORRIBLE company full of liars as their customer service representatives. Don't get me wrong, they are very friendly but every single one of them has lied to me in saying they have handled my return case and paid affirm but yet affirm is still saying that they have NOT been paid back, therefore still holding me accountable to make payments on a phone that was returned back to the company and never even taken out of its package! I have been calling back and forth for FOUR months now. And nothing has been resolved! Mint mobile is the most bogus company to deal with, it's been a disaster from the start and has really put me through so much added stress that is unnecessary.
Tip for consumers:
Mint mobile is a scam company that picks and chooses what reviews they want to show on their website. Full of liars that just tell you what you want to hear but never follow through with what they say. Most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with in my entire life.

Worst experience with a service provider ever. The customer service reps just follow a script and hangs up on you when they can't solve a problem after pretending to ask you to be on hold. This has happened like 10 times over the course of calling them. First, their service blocked a number of 2fa SMS texts such that I could not log into my bank accounts. Then after all the trouble I had to go through with no resolution, I gave up and returned the iphone I purchased along with the plan. After 6 days of receiving the item, they still did not process the refund, and all they said was the item is "being investigated" in their warehouse, while I am still paying interest every day to Affirm for the purchase of an item I never got to use. Never sign up with these people!
This company is the most god-awful company ever derived. Not only could they not make my phone work, the customer service was so bad I had to call back nine times in a 3-day period. Then when I sent my phone back, all they wanted to ask for is proof that I sent it back. This after they sent me the label to send the phone back to them. Now, I'm going to be charged for a phone I no longer have and they cannot find. How does this company stay in business? They suck!
Tip for consumers:
I tried buying the new Motorola Razer, but, it never worked.
Disgusting customer service, they don't know what they're doing and they keep hanging up on my face and each time i get on the phone with a different agent they act all nice and "helpful" and the same things happens again! Ryan needs to upgrade his customer service team they suck
I signed up for a Mint Mobile account three weeks ago (paying 3 months in advance) and in all that time I was unable get my phone service set up. There was nothing out of the ordinary going on here - just the inability of the customer service people in the Philippines to set up the account. I had to repeat myself endlessly, explain what I wanted to do over and over again, and ask for supervisors with no success. I eventually I just gave up, cancelled the account and demanded a refund. What a complete waste of time.
This is the worst customer service I have ever encountered - period.
Ryan Reynolds, are you reading these reviews? I recently took advantage of mint mobile deal. It was unable to get me WiFi service I required at my home. So I called customer service (answered pretty quick) and asked them how I could transfer my account to my 92 year old mom's flip phone (on AT&T for $55 month). They gave me directions and I followed them exactly. Step 1 remove flip phone from AT&T (keep Mint SIM card). Step 2 put my phone on AT&T. Step 3 Unlock flip phone from AT&T. Step 4 put in mint sim. Step 5 call Mint and give new number. BIG Problem. As soon as I removed my current phone number, account was closed! Great deal and instructions.
I tried the Mint Mobile 15 GB data plan, which worked kind of well. The data speed can be considered fast with a budget of $25/month. I kind of want to continue with Mint mobile but to keep the $25 budget, you must pre-pay for a year. I would go with that if Mint Mobile allows a break or pause for travel purposes, which was unfortunately not the case for them. Thus, I must say goodbye. Overall, Mint mobile provided very good service except for their payment plan.
I purchased international roaming when traveling in the UK. The service was activated but never worked. It was pretty much nonexistent. I requested my money back for the "service" I was unable to use, but they refused to issue any refund. What a scam!
Truthfully, it has been a nightmare with Mint Mobile/T-Mobile. We followed all of the steps to verify phones and connections and have had nothing but trouble. In my opinion, this is false advertising. I had no phone service for the first week so I couldn't even call to put into motion cancelling the service. I just had a tech person walk me through steps to fix another issue ( not receiving texts from Verizon Iphone users) and now my phone wont reboot. I am filing a complaint with the FCC and BBB. In addition, I am not approving the charges on my credit card. I will pay for the spotty service and not receiving texts ($3.75/week) until I activate my new phone, but not a penny more I would suggest you all do the same. Ryan Reynold's might be a cutie, but his company sucks!
They changed my phone number during a call for technical issues and it took me 5 days to get it back. 25 calls later, I had it back but during that time I lost a family member and missed the call. Worst customer service ever. Don't do it. They suck
Tip for consumers:
Stupid people work for this company. They took my phone number away in 3 seconds during a call for Technical issues but it took 5 days for them to give it back
I called their customer service before signing up. It was hard to understand their representatives. When we were done I was not sure what I had. Their service did not work in parts of Montana as the calls were picked up by Canadian cell towers and not recognizes as a US call. I tried to get called in Europe and bought their and payed for time to do so as told me by
Their. Customer service. For 30$ I got about three minutes of use before I was told my time was used up. I complained about it when I got home and was told "sorry we don 't know what went wrong." I do not trust them any more at all.
