“Moving Help was helpful”

I've used MovingHelp for 2 years and it's been great. It works like Priceline or Amazon and it connects me with the best and cheapest movers available. I personally recommend to filter the cheapest movers first and then find the company with a five star rating from more than 100 customers. I have never been disappointed.

“RA transport Oklahoma”

U-Haul Moving Help Experience Feedback I had a negative experience with U-Haul Moving Help. I hired a moving company named RA Transport, owned by an individual named Ryan, through U-Haul's moving help service. We scheduled their services 17 days in advance, and they confirmed they would be there. We agreed on the job's timing, but communication issues arose as the moving day approached. The day before the scheduled move, we tried contacting them via text with no response. After calling them, we managed to confirm the move for the next day. However, on the day of the move, they failed to show up. Despite our attempts to reach them, our calls went unanswered and went straight to voicemail. Even after trying from another phone, we were unable to get through to them. It seemed like they had blocked us deliberately and did not respond to our text messages. I believe U-Haul should establish clear standards for service providers to prevent such disappointing experiences.

We needed to store our furniture for a few weeks while we waited for our home to be completed. Because of the cost of moving and storage, UBoxes seemed like a viable choice. Upon reserving the boxes, I stated I would need assistance, and I was assigned a company called Magnificent Mighty Movers. I thought because I insured the boxes, the contents would be covered for damages. It was apparent when the UBoxes were opened, furniture pads were not utilized. Bags of unopened furniture pads from UHaul tumbled out of the boxes. Following the move, I immediately pointed out two items to one of the owners, and he assured me he would take care of it. One was a leather chair and the other a nightstand. As we unpacked and moved furniture around, we discovered countless gouges on both the furniture and the new walls. One in particular was a deep gouge and nearly foot long scratch on a maple drop leaf table built by my late father. I immediately contacted UHaul who explained the movers were a contract company and are overseen by MovingHelp. The UHaul representative also stated these movers are trained before they are contracted, and it sounded as though they did not use the furniture pads in packing the UBoxes. I photographed and documented everything so I would have a record of damages. I contacted MovingHelp with my documentation, and I was told I needed to make a claim, and that they encourage the consumer to work things out with the provider. The company owners have only had excuses and believed they could fix the damages themselves. I know that I will not be satisfied with this and have consulted furniture repair expert who said the surface of dining room table will need to be planed down in order to correct because of the deep gouge. We moved August 5, and we are now looking at 3 months. I am disgusted with the whole process. UHaul needs to be more prudent in who they recommend, MovingHelp is a worthless scam of a company with no assistance in mediating between the consumer and the movers. In the end, this move is costing me more than if I had gone with a professional moving company and paid the cost for storage. I'm attaching two examples.

I recently scheduled moving services through movinghelp.com. I hired two different sets of movers, one of which turned out to be a fraud who scammed me into giving the information that he needed to complete the transaction on his end weeks before the service was to be rendered. When I tried to explain the situation to movinghelp.com, they told me that I would need to solve this issue myself and that the far as they would go to help would be to send the offending mover an email. I have not heard back from moving help and after searching the address that movinghelp.com had listed for the fraudulent mover, and finding that the address was for a medical center, have confirmed that he is indeed a scammer. Movinghelp.com has since removed him from their website, which seems like an acknowledgement of his fraudulent activites on their part. I still have not heard any information from them regarding the situation and I get the feeling that I won't, which leaves me out the money with no current offers of assistance or reimbursement from movinghelp.com. I'm confused as to why movinghelp.com would not do something as simple as run background check or address check to confirm the legitimacy of the movers that they tote on their website as "safe","convenient", and "reliable" (claims I no longer trust after this experience). To make matters worse their system seems to actively encourage this activity, by enticing consumers to use new and untested movers through discounts and other offers. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with movinghelp.com and wont be using their services in the future nor do I recommend their services to others.

Do not hire flawless movers from U-Haul moving help. They are a scam. To start I have back and joint problems so it is extremely difficult and painful for me to move large/heavy items. So I hired flawless movers from U-Haul moving help. I was told that they would arrive at 8pm, I was then told they would arrive at 930pm, when I called them at 930, they had shut off their phone, leaving me to move everything myself. As a result, I was unable to finish moving everything until 1am. Unfortunately because of this company I was unable to make it to storage in time and I had to keep the truck over night and sleep in the truck as I had nowhere to go. I also had to miss a full days work and took me another 3 hours to unload the truck in my storage. Customer service has been ignoring me and my wife since august 31,2023. I have not received a refund or any compensation due to their poor service. Do yourself a favor DO NOT HIRE MOVERS FROM U-HAUL MOVING HELP OR FLAWLESS MOVERS. Move everything yourself as you're likely going to have to anyways at least you can save yourself $200+

The company was All Star movers and I used them for a cleaning service of an apartment I just moved out of. Also, I saw no disclaimer on the site about the customer needing to provide the cleaning supplies and the cleaning company confirmed that this has been happening with customers in the past 3 years.

This company was very unprofessional. They showed up 2 hours late with no follow up (I had to call them twice) and the excuse given made no sense (said they went to a town 20 to 30 minutes away by accident). I hired 2 men for 2 hours but three men were there for less than that, stating that they had other jobs. Totally inappropriate. The leader loudly complained about cleaning blindsi while I was in the next room and then again to me in person, which he did not complain about before when I had told them to clean it, and upon closer inspection after they left, I realized that he had broken the blinds and damaged a shower door without saying anything (I was able to fix the door). They also stood on my air conditioner to reach something. These were not at all professional cleaners given the state that they left the apartment in and didn't even seem to know how to use a vacuum cleaner. In fact, they were very unprofessional. I did have to tell them to clean stuff when they thought they were done. And because I wanted them out, I had to go over the home again to clean. I didn't even tip these people. Just because MOVINGHELP wants to be waived from liability shouldn't mean that they don't vet these companies on their site.

I also requested to speak to someone in a movinghelp email (there was no number for moving help which is important) while they were performing the work to voice my dissatisfaction, but the Uhaul customer service agent was very curt with me and did not direct me to anyone to voice my complaint/and request assistance.

If you need professional movers, try McCollister's Transportation and don't bother with Uhaul.

I purchased the highest amount in Safeload Coverage per Movinghelp's website advertisement below. I had several pieces of damaged furniture due to how the movers packed my truck. They laid a metal bed frame on top of my furniture, which caused unrepairable damage to my NEW dining table, coffee table, headboard, and footboard. Although I purchased the insurance, my claim was denied before I ever submitted my pictures and receipts. The response from repwest.com:
"I am reaching out to advise our investigation regarding your Moving Help claim has concluded, and unfortunately, your claim has been denied as Safeload Coverage does have an exclusion that does not cover loss or damage resulting from improper packing or cargo shifting."
This is the advertising on their website:
Despite the best plan, protection, and care, mistakes do happen, and moving is no different. There's a potential for something to get damaged during any move, no matter how careful your movers are. This is why you might consider purchasing moving insurance. Movers insurance is a great tool to have during moving day. Customers have the option to purchase our Moving Help® coverage called Safeload. This option protects a customer's belongings when a Service Provider is loading or unloading their items.
I am pretty disgusted with the entire process. I secured my furniture with bubble wrap and saran wrap and was told by P&J Moving Experts it would be packed in the truck with blankets. The furniture damage was caused by the movers setting a metal bed frame on top of my furniture and then loading more items on top of that. The bed frame ripped through the bubble wrap and saran wrap. Because of this, the damage was caused by the way the truck was loaded and NOT improper packing.
I am trying to escalate the claim, but nothing has happened.

I hired a company through Movinghelp.com because I was in desperate need of assistance. I moved from Milwaukee, WI. I requested 3 moving helpers for 3 hours through their website. On the day I needed them, they showed up 20 minutes late and brought NOTHING with them to assist with moving (i. E. dollies, lifting straps, tools, etc). I was not impressed but I could make do. They did not do a great job and actually damaged several of the pieces they moved - a freezer (dented to hell), a ceramic grill (chipped), a tool chest (tipped and dinged). After an hour of having them help, the person that was apparently in charge informed me that his "buddy" had to be to work and so he had to leave. I said that I had paid for 3 guys for 3 hours. He checked his phone and told me that he was only told that they were supposed to be there for 2 hours. I assumed that my request for the additional hour did not go through. Being the guy was leaving no matter what and I needed to get things done, I said fine. The other 2 helpers continued on with me. They worked quickly and when the 2 hours were up they left. I checked my statement for charges a day or two later and noticed that I was charged for the full 3 helpers and 3 hours. I put in a request for a resolution and explained the situation. A day later they got back to me and said they would talk to the movers and get back to me. Ok, no problem. Except that they didn't get back to me. Two weeks after I initially entered the request, I submitted another statement asking for an update. Again, nothing. Finally, almost a full week later, I get a response saying that they won't refund me because I booked more hours than I needed. I said that I was informed by the helpers that they were only scheduled for 2 hours. I told the helpers that I requested 3 and he "checked" and said nope, only 2 hours.

This company is non-responsive and so unhelpful. The company that they contracted the job to is even worse. To have "movers" that don't know how to move anything without damaging it is ridiculous. And to provide such subpar customer service is unforgivable. If you are looking for help with a move, look ANYWHERE else. This company is not worth it.

U-Box International INTERNALLY booked the delivery service, which was scheduled on August 16 and provided by MovingHelp at the cost of US$239.95. MovingHelp contracted the U-Box delivery & load/unload service to Service Perfecto (contact phone #: *******772). The mover called me and started to demand more money in the evening on August 15. I told the mover that I've paid the full amount to MovingHelp and would release the charge after the service is done. Surprisingly, the mover told me at 9:33am on August 16 that the service was cancelled. When I called back MovingHelp, I was told that the service was actually cancelled at 9:16am by "someone" online. I didn't cancel the service because I couldn't even find the order under my MovingHelp account because the deliver was booked internally by U-Haul U-Box International. The MovingHelp claimed that "someone" cancelled the service online at 9:16am, and also claimed that the service was not cancelled by MovingHelp. Because of this cancellation, the MovingHelp refused to refund the full amount of charge of US$239.95 although no service was provided. The MovingHelp insisted to charge $9.95 because the service was booked over the phone by U-BOX. But the bottom line is the whole service was not honored at all, and the $9.95 was charged for nothing provided.

I had placed an order, and paid $437, to have 2 pods delivered to my house for 10/9/22. The 10th, still no delivery! After spending over 2 hours on hold, and another 1 hour, being shuffled form number to number, I was finally connected to the MOST RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP, THAT I HAVE WVER DEALT WITH IN 57 YEARS!
Even though I sent him screenshots of my paid receipt, with 10/9/22, being the delivery date, there was no arguing with this man! He insisted that the delivery date was the 13th!
There was no apology, whatsoever! There was no effort to try and have the pods delivered ASAP! Even though I said, well you see the receipt that I just sent you... he said, THATS YOUR PROBLEM! He sent me a screenshot of his order... it said the 13th!

Evidently the mistake was in miscommunication of the dates, in between some where. That gave him no right to talk to me with such rudeness, and tone of voice, or in trying to make up for the mistake!

They say that the calls are recorded. This is a call that should be heard by the business world, in regards to the rudest customer service call, EVER!

This man needs to be fired upon hearing this conversation!

Horrible!

I do have to say, this is the 3rd time I've ordered movers through this company. I had booked my movers and they didnt show up. I called the company to see what was going on. After being on hold for an HOUR, I finally got through to someone whom only then, an hour and a half after my movers were to show up and booked/confirmed ( I received the test to pay them) was told that the company was no longer with them. In the time being, while on hold I was able to get in touch with the actual movers and was told they were kicked out from Moving Help and they didnt have access to the website schedule. Regardless, TERRRIBLE COMMUNICATION. Not only did I have to round up last minute help and move myself, I was told it would take 5-7 days to get my money back. They did refund me essentially right away, but that's it. I am so disgusted with this company. I tried to arrange for other movers but of course they told me the price was DOUBLED because it was last minute. I had booked well in advance. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION!

Do not use this company! They are rude (if you can actually get in touch with them) and not straightforward at all! I ordered a some moving help through them and they tell you to contact the mover directly to schedule a time. I could never get a in touch with the mover I scheduled so I cancelled them and decided to give movinghelp.com another shot and ordered a different mover. I was able to get in touch with them to schedule a time but the day of the move I was not able to reach them until 30mins before our scheduled time and by then we realized we could unload everything without the extra help so I cancelled the order. I reached out to movinghelp.com to see about a refund. I was told when you cancel an order, a refund will be issued immediately and will take 5-7 business days to hit. Well two weeks later I still haven't received my refund. I reached out to them again and the lady I spoke with was rude and was making me feel stupid because SHE couldn't navigate around their OWN website. Finally, she found a VIP page I was supposed to be on and there is where I issue the refund. Apparently, if you cancel, the money gets credited to your movinghelp.com account (NOT A REFUND) and you have to search for the credit on the website and then click "Issue a Refund" and then it takes 5-7 business days. By time I get my refund it will have been a month since I cancelled. I just think they arent very straightforward and are trying to take advantage of customers. Not to mention, you cant call them to speak with a representative, you have to do a chat session and their customer service is lacking professionalism and politeness! DO NOT MESS WITH THIS HASSLE!

I had set up a moving order with Mark Salazar (LA area), on the Moving Help website as part of a Uhaul contract. It did not work out because of timing differences. I had a civil email exchange with Mark about that. So I went in and canceled the order on the Moving Help website. There was a checkbox that asked if I wanted to reschedule with someone else. I checked the box. Then there was a text box for comments. I filled that in explaining the scheduling conflict and asked for 1 of 4 other LA area movers.

A few hours later I get a call from Mark Salazar admonishing me for writing on his website. I explained I had had not been on his website but the MovingHelper website and I had cancelled and put in comments. Apparently it went into his reviews and he was upset. I had no idea that would happen, I thought I was writing to MovingHelp. He kept saying "stop writing on my website" and I kept telling him I had not, I was on the MovingHelp.com website. He then threatened me and said if I did not stop writing on his website, he would have to hurt me.

How is it that I set-up moving help through the U-Haul website and I end up getting threatened by some thug? I contacted customer service at MovingHelp via email, because they openly say they do not accept customer service phone calls. Their email response was that they are a broker only and do not get involved in disputes with the movers they represent on their website. I cancelled the contract and will never do business with Moving Help again. I am surprised UHaul offers them as an adjunct service. There must be better options. I am not so happy with UHaul either.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. This is nothing but a Middle Man Brokerage for a bunch of Shysters and Con Artists. You are far better off hiring a Professional Moving Company where you have a formal contract at a flat fee and if there is damage you have recourse. In addition, Professional Moving Companies have workers that do this for a living, not as a side job. I've used MovingHelp a few times now, and all but one time, I've had so-called "Movers" who immediately start trying to renegotiate the terms, always wanting to be paid in Cash or claiming they haven't received the funds from MovingHelp when they actually have in an attempt to extort more money from me. If you choose to use this Service and your Provider starts talking about being able to work a better deal if you pay them Cash, HANG UP, DO NOT USE THEM! They're Scam-Artist! Personally, I think these folks need to be investigated. My last move, when I totaled all the costs for the truck rental, cost of gas, my time, paying the "Movers" more than what was originally anticipated because they moved at the pace of a snail (something they do when paid by the hour, no incentive to move efficiently), it would've have been cheaper to hire a Professional Moving Company. This cost doesn't even include the damage to my belonging done by these inexperienced, couldn't give damn "Movers"! If you choose to use MovingHelp, I recommend you use different "Movers" to Load and Unload your truck. My experience has shown that using the same for both will cost you more money because they think you should pay for them to drive to the next destination and they also take their time loading up the truck cause they know they're the ones who are going to unload it. Just some advice from someone who has been burned by using this Service and will NEVER use it again EVER!

I do not recommend booking with Movinghelp.com direct. There are too many website technical glitches that resulted in my card getting charged, but no order. I have spent a total of 6 hours troubleshooting with them and I still have not succeeded in getting my order correctly booked. (I am super technically savvy.) And they have charged my account, not once, but twice, refusing to release the holds. I can't try booking again with them, out of concern they'll use up all my available money and still not book my move.

What happens is you book your order online and an error message appears saying to recheck your billing, CSC. I did that. Re-entered it but it was denied because they had already charged my account, using up my available funds. Of course, they don't tell you this. You keep seeing the same "check billing, then try again" error message each time you check billing and try again. I only learned they had charged me by logging into my bank account.

The next day I deposited more money, called my bank to verify my billing address, and rebooked another order. Same thing happened.

Movinghelp.com email support has been terrible, somewhat mocking. They blame me for entering the wrong billing. (I took a pic of it, 100% accurate.) They tell me they can't release the hold, but to ask my bank to release the hold. They are fully aware banks can't release holds, only merchants can. *Everyone* knows this.

Clearly, there is a technical glitch because I did book Movinghelp.com via Uhaul.com twice this week and both jobs were paid for and completed successfully. I have been trying to book my third order this week, now that the other two are completed and I still have stuff to move!

Even though the first two jobs went great, I give MovingHelp.com a 1 star for
1) Charging my account before verifying billing
2) Blowing me off by insisting I had made an error with my billing ( I used the same correct billing that was already in their system from the previous two jobs paid for and completed THIS SAME WEEK.
3) Being rude to me
4) Telling me it will cost me $9.95 if I want to talk to support on the phone to fix the problem
5) Not being able to trust them that their two pending charges are holds, and not charges that I'll have to dispute later.

Anyone suggest any good competitors? I need a mover this Thursday afternoon, Feb 6,2020. And Movinghelp.com still has two $82 + $54 holds on my account.
