I hired two movers to help me in Reno, Nevada. They came over on short notice, which I appreciated. I had been under ongoing stress with this move, and they proceeded to steal from me right and left. They stole a camera, lenses, a savings coin bank, jewelry, medical equipment, and a lot of things that were in the boxes and duffle bags they stole from me in the process. I am worried about filing a police report because those creeps know where I live. The losses amount to $6,000.
The most unorganized business I've ever been a part of. Randomly hold pay for 3 days, the application they have us use is archaic, it could be in a museum.
If I could give a tenth of star rating I would. My brother a disable veteran that used a U Haul to move. We saw there was moving help available and decided to take advantage. The problem is you find a service, but can't speak with them until you've rendered payment for moving services you can't confirm they can actually provide. For disabled people it's not as cut and dry as for folks that are not disabled. There are extenuating circumstances that must be addressed before a disable person on a fixed income can spend there money. This is where the problem come in, because this service takes payment before you are allow to communicate with the moving service. If they are unable to deal with your extenuating circumstance. You now have to attempt to get a refund for a service that was never provided. Considering you as the disable person on a fixed income don't have any extra money to still go and secure the services your require. You are now at the mercy of a flawed system that has your money tied up in a refund process that takes 3 to 5 business day at a minimum, but you need service now. Now after you spend an entire day about 6 hours bouncing around between entities pointing at each other. Because it says "Powered by U Haul" but it's not U Haul it's Movinghelp.com which is a third party organization. So after spending an entire day trying to get to someone that can actually help you get answers to the question you have. They don't actually answer your question. They tell you they can take the money you paid and turn it into credit to be used instantly. How is it instant if it takes an entire day to communicate with you. How is this service a help if it ties up your entire day, only to turn around and stand behind the flawed process, then hang up on you. Anyone whom uses this service either has no other choice of is cracked in the head. The is the last time I will ever subject myself to anything that has anything to do with U Haul. There are far better services out there, that are actually trying to service the customer not pretend and take your money. Get a life, and I am, one that doesn't have U Haul in it.
. I booked two workers for 7/16/2022 at 2pm. But even though I waited for many hours, they did not send the workers. I called several times and I waited for long hours, but there was no news of the helper and my belongings were left on the street without any help. I charged the cost of the track and they caused me a lot of stress. Then theyu charged me for the servicesthey never did not provide. This is despite the fact that their apologized on the phone for not sending the workers on time and said that they are canceling my request. After they canceled the request themselfse, they charged my bank account again.
I want to ask them: Are you really well? Do you think that because my English is not good, you can play such an unfair game with me? I am a journalist and I will never let anyone oppress me. I informed my bank about that.
I will definitely be talking to the bank about their fraud and I will definitely consult a lawyer because I feel like I have been seriously hurt emotionally.
I paid over $200 to schedule two movers for 2 hours. Not long after I paid I received an email from the moving company saying they could not move my items. They said movinghelp.com has been overbooking them, and they had no availability. On Uhaul's website however, moving help said these movers were available. I had to spend an additional $200+ just to get another moving company ASAP.
Moving help is garbage, this was a complete and total SCAM! They had the audacity to take my money BEFORE I was notified there wasn't any moving availability. Absolutely unacceptable, Uhaul should be ashamed of there partnership with this moving service.
To be clear let me start off by saying that I did bookhelpmovinghelp.com two years ago and that went off without a hitch.
This year it was an entirely different experience my movers didn't show up and I could not get a hold of them after an hour wait time with movinghelp.com they re-booked me second set of movers at an additional hundred dollars price, of whom also did not show up. Granted this is on the part of the movers really however trying to communicate and get my money back from movinghelp.com and getting them to take any ownership phone has been a nightmare. What is the point of booking through an agency if there's no guarantees or help? Additionally the website is useless, slow and glitchy, customer service leaves a lot to be desired, never have I been so disappointed in some thing that I planned so thoroughly.
They'll take your money and provide little to zero actual service. Our movers broke our flat screen tv and had zero insurance! The insurance from uhaul only covers a catastrophic crash or whatnot to your container. Do NOT use these crooks!
I regret using this service as the movers were very unprofessional. Also getting help from these people takes forever and a day! I have had to contact them multiple times to get the refundable fee and every time I have had to wait at least 20-30 mins. I'm on the phone waiting to speak with someone now because they still haven't sent the refundable fee and I've been on hold for over 33 mins! This is ridiculous and why i decided to do this review! I was considering using them again in couple of weeks but don't want to go thru this experience again. I will be looking at other options. I suggest anyone considering using them do the same.
Very friendly and understanding move with a giant breed pup. My pup wanted to stay in a box and lay down whenever they put a box together she'd climb in.we would have to take her out. Thats why it was a fun move they made it easy for her to be less stress. They packaged all the items with care. Sorry i dont have pictures of this those would make anyone smile. Thank you.
These movers did not show on the day of the move. Left me with no movers on the day of my move.
Couldn't reach anyone to get a refund of my money.
Three times I have paid for movers. 3 times I get text that they are delayed 2 hours. 6 hours later, NO SHOW. NO REFUND
Worked 2 of the 4 hours that I paid for, were sloppy, left trash, dragged mud thru the entire house. Huge gouges put in my table as they tried to force it thru a doorway, then claimed the other folks who packed my items did it.
My roommates and I booked 2 movers for 2 hours with Moving Help for our July 1st move-in. On the day of, we encountered issues with acquiring our van and had to push the time back to 4 PM instead of 3 PM, which did not seem to be a problem, in fact, the exact answer was "Yes but our company charges for time change!". At 5 PM (an hour later than planned) one mover shows up alone. I called the company to inquire about the second mover and was treated with a complete lack of respect and professional etiquette in addition to having to move half our furniture ourselves. The employee I had on the phone yelled at me that it was my fault for moving the time and they would not give me any compensation for my troubles. I have never in my life been treated this poorly by any business. The one star I give to this review is for the fantastic mover who helped us carry our boxes and furniture under the blaring heat of summer. As for the company, I really hope they will work on their policies, communication, and basic respect for their customers. I am still waiting for my $160 refund.
Movers 4 hours late, after an excuse "oh the client before you added on hours" then finally said movers were on the way, (while i was on the phone with uhaul who heard convo) should be there in 30 mins, so should have arrived around 2. 2. 30 i get a call saying whats my address they are on their way, which means i was lied to about them sending people at that time (1.30). Showed up at 3 to a truck that me and husband 3/4 already packed. Help us with the last few items, then@ the drop off location, the young kid was constantly complaining about things being too heavy for him to lift. Kept taking things from the 3rd helper to do the "light stuff". Same kid then tells me "hey i left your dining table at the patio, i couldnt bring it up all the way, let my boss know." at one point i started helping bringing stuff in becuase i was wayyy behind schedule, and then the older one says "grab it with her(me), she can help you". Then after i left my husband finds they put all dressers in one room!
Opened a case on moving helpers website and after 2 weeks i do the online chat and their response is "we are just a go through company to help find you local movers, once you give them the pay code its out of our hands, you have to go to the company that you hired for any refund/ dispute"
I have used them twice, the first time I had to re-pack the contents of the U-Haul myself. The "pro's" they sent looked like they were hung over.
I took a chance again, out of desperation, the guys they sent were friendly and seemed to know what they were doing…"SEEMED TO KNOW" by the time I arrived at my destination my expensive furniture was was damaged due to the lack of knowing how to strap things down.
I called to report it and they said that I would not have to pay, two hours later the money way taken from my account.
Personally I hold U-Haul responsible, they know they have inadequate movers but use them anyway.
Call the helpers direct. I made a reservation, and within 5 minutes the helpers called me to tell me there was a conflict in scheduling. I thought that was great. Unfortunately they were unable to meet the scheduled time due to a prior reservation. I'm good and appreciated the call. Went to UHaul, and cancelled the help. Still good. I contacted MovingHelp and they informed me that my money they had charged me for the entire job would be held in "escrow" for 3 to 7 days before it would be refunded. Huh? 7 days to get a 260 charge that I made in a nanosecond? That's our policy! I am told. No supervisors to talk to either. They would take my number and have supervisor call me. Guess what? Nope, no calls. What a scam. I ended up calling the apartment complex and they found me a couple young men that I will just pay cash. NOOOOOOOO customer service here. Was required to give one star, would prefer to give zero stars.
Sent me a quote for a company that doesn't provide the services I requested. There is a phone number, but no answer- I had to cancel online, which means they have my money tied up for the next 7-10 days. Requested another company that would do packing/unpacking/load/unload. So far I still have not been able to schedule the services I've already paid for, because the owner sent my first two calls to voicemail and asked if he could call back in a couple hours on the third call. That was yesterday. I move in 2 days and now have no idea whether the people I've paid another ~$550 actually do everything that I need, nor if they are actually available during my window of need. If not, that makes a total of $1100 this dumpster fire of a company has now tied up for a week that I cannot access, meaning I have no more money to go out and hire proper movers and packers if this company is as useless as the last one they suggested.
Stay away. Do not use them. Go to thumbtack, where you interact directly with the companies before spending your time and money getting ripped off by movinghelp.com. I tried to save a couple dollars, now the moving costs twice as much with no security that it's going to even be done.
Not sure how this company is allowed to operate, since they seem to rip off 90% of their users.
Disgusted with the whole experience.
I tried to use this service to hire movers for our move. The movers contacted me 3 days before we were supposed to move and asked for all of the same information again. Then told me they were required to add another person for another $200 because of the size of the moving truck. When I told them there were 4 other people helping they said that didn't matter. They also said there were other fees such as how many times they went up and downstairs that was not included in the original price and charge. Then they told us that our move site was outside of their radius so they could help us load but then would sit there for us to go unload and come back to load again but the time would keep running while we unloaded and came back. Am so disappointed in the customer service and lack of communication. We will not recommend or ever use this moving service again.
The U-Haul truck I had rented broke down at the storage yard after being loaded. Contacted U-Haul, they sent a repairman to see what the problem was. He said the truck was not safe to drive. It was arranged for us to drive it to the nearest U-Haul lot to do a transfer of my belongings to another truck. U-Haul contacted MovingHelp and arranged for a crew to transfer my things from the first truck to another U-Haul truck. Three men from D Main Movers did the transfer. They DID NOT cover any of my furniture (which had been done when loaded the first time). They stacked boxes directly on the furniture, resulting in damage to the tops of ALL of my antiques. The furniture had been passed down thru four generations. They also broke three antique bookcases. There is no way to replace them. U-Haul says they are not responsible, even though they hired these so-called movers. I have pictures, I just don't know how to add them.
Don't hire Certified Movers. I called them twice. They never showed. When I called them after waiting for them for an hour they told me to be patient they were on another job. I had already got the. O ING truck so I ended up having to pay for uhaul moving truck k but no mo e because of irresponsible movers. DON'T HIRE!
